Here goes-I got a BFP on DPO 11 which makes me due 1st October. Was going to avoid the antenatal thread until I was completely sure but have already done 3 tests and am still not convinced. Come on and join in the worry fun.

HC-does it say why? I would find it hard to stop after so long

HumphreysCorner · 27/01/2009 13:20

It tells you to stop as temps do fluctuate lots during pregnancy but I also found out on the net that after 12 weeks when the placenta takes over your temps drop to pre OV temps. We must stop by then!

Sammy I live near Woking and Guildford actually next door to Pirbright to be precise. So more near to Guildford.

thefunkypea · 27/01/2009 13:28

Hi all,
Still in a state of shock (and happiness ) since I got a BFP (in the John Lewis toilets of all places) on Friday. My dd was already on the scene before I found MN, so the ante-natal boards completely passed me by. Hoping that you'll all be able to hold my hand through the second one. Thought I'd be much more chilled out this time round, but it's such a precious thing....

HumphreysCorner · 27/01/2009 13:39

You are very welcome thefunkypea and big congrats to you. I never worried with my first but then I had a MC so was paranoid with No2 so am psycho with this one. Happy to hold hands.

Thanks HC!

I think I'm due on 1st Oct too

doggus · 27/01/2009 13:57

Littlemiss and Sammysam - thank you for your Poole reviews, I think I am off to Dorchester! I really fancy the ward with open indows, what a lovely picture.

I am having a torrid day as dh has now got ds' bug and is in bed shivering and having to run to the loo, lovely.

Weclome on board funkypea, how funny you were in the John Lewis bogs!

HumphreysCorner · 27/01/2009 14:17

Which John Lewis was it?

If I ever get as far as seeing a MW she will date me later than the 1st as they autimatically take your last LMP and add 9 months and 7 days so that would make me due 4th Oct. I'm always early though.

Hi all,
Hope you are all well. I have already booked a private nuchal scan as the NHS doesn't do them round here. Needed to fit around DCs so by booking early I have had the pick of the appointments! The clinic is 40 mins away and it's got to be on a Wednesday (ds in nursery) and fit round school runs and dh.

Now I just need to hope and pray that I get that far and dont have a reason to cancel it.

Have never temped, all sounds very complicated!

theboob · 27/01/2009 18:16

hello all grin]
HC put down the thermometer

idreamofbeanie · 27/01/2009 20:22

Wow - there are quite a few of us now.

chalkpink you are so organised. What date do you have your scan booked? I don't know what scans we have here in York - will I find out when I see my GP to book in at 8 weeks or when I see the midwife?

boob - glad to hear sickness is wearing off a bit. I haven't had any sickness or nausea yet - guess it's early days yet.

HC - put the thermometer down

Welcome funkypea - I think I might need some hand-holding myself.

Oops - not sure what happened there.

thefunkypea · 27/01/2009 20:53

Hi everyone too !

I moved house since I had dd, and I'm registered at a different surgery now - called them today and found out I've got to wait to 10 weeks before my booking in appointment. Somehow it seems more real once you're in the 'system'.

PS wouldn't recommend JL loos for testing purposes, but I'm an instant gratification kinda person, and couldn't wait until I got home

PPS did another test the next day......... just to be sure........!

LittleMissBliss · 27/01/2009 20:54

doggus and sammysam looks like I may be seeing you both at Dorchester hospital then!

Doggus really hope you don't get the bug and hope your dh feels better soon.

Welcome thefunkypea have you worked out your due date?

I didn't get any morning sickness last time and had a boy so just kind of wishing it on this time as i'd love a girl. Those of you with boys and girls, did you notice any difference in your pregnancies with the different sex's?

Also you know that you aren't ment to do any heavy lifting in pregnancy, well that's kind of impossible with ds arround. How did you cope?

HumphreysCorner · 27/01/2009 21:17

Still symptomless but will be 5 weeks on Thursday. I know MS kicks in with me about 6 weeks. I had it worse with DD1 but I think mother nature has a way of making you deal with it better when you already have children. My mum had dreadful MS with my older brother and not so bad with me.

You are fine to lift your toddlers while PG.

Cramping horrible here but I know that is normal. Still feels like AF is on the way though.

Hope all OK.

sammysam · 27/01/2009 21:31

Cindy-My sister works in Bisley-very close to you!!!

Littlemiss-I think Dorcester would be my pref for hospital but fingers crossed I get that far I think i'm going for a home birth
Good question re differences between sexes etc and the lifting thing! Oh and climbing all over me etc-very paranoid about that

Re sickness-i'm worrying as had such bad morning sickness with dd and i'm not too bad at the mo (but it did progressively get worse) but i'm going up to my mums at the weekend and will dig out my 2005 diary to see when it started with dd!! I'm kinda hoping it starts soon (am I crazy?!)

Hope everyone is feeling good!

sammysam · 27/01/2009 21:34

HC-can't wait to work out when morning sickness started with me! Will hopefully make me feel better.
I'm so glad to hear everyone talk about the craming-it is the thing i'm most worrying about-I just didn't have it with dd at all (that I can remember!)

HumphreysCorner · 27/01/2009 22:07

I've just looked on my old AN thread and my MS started dead on 6 weeks. I did write that I felt PG at 5 weeks so I hope this will be true on Thursday.

Night all!

OP posts:
theboob · 28/01/2009 07:33

morning
cramping seems to be calming down a little now ,but boobs are so so sore, think i may have to wear support top in bed

got doctors apt today at 9.50,then off to the hospital library to collect medical journals......oh the joys of being a student

hope your all well and feeling sick

about girl and boys i had a much different pregnancy with DD than with DS's i should be able to tell by 12 weeks....but every pg is different and this could trick me but i always ask at 20 wk scan

take care everybody HC hope your MS is not so bad for you this pg,fingers crossed

C1NDY · 28/01/2009 08:36

Sammy Yes, Bisley is very near to me.

I was thinking about the thirst last night and it dawned on me, being pg I feel so much hotter at night time and also the central heating is on and I believe that is why I feel so thirsty.

Been having tiny twinges like littl electricity going off - well kind of [hmm) not painful similar to one's i had with my dd. AF is due tomorrow so I am hoping all goes well and I can get through this week.

sammysam · 28/01/2009 08:53

Morning!
Feeling quite sick this morning but maybe in my head as morning sickness with dd was from 11am onwards-worse later on so i couldn't eat anything after lunch.
Still cramping.....hoping that stops soon so I don't worry....but I'll prob worry when it stops

Hope you doc apt goes well boob!

Can't find the energy to get going this morning ....

thefunkypea · 28/01/2009 09:01

Hi all - hope all with sore boobs and cramping feel better soon . I seem to be symptomless, which meant that last time round I did a PG test a week, just to be sure . Trying not to do that this time - gets a tad expensive. A bit weird but it almost makes me look forward to the sickness bit cos at least it's an outward sign of being PG. Although commuting to work while feeling bleugh is grim grim grim

xxx

idreamofbeanie · 28/01/2009 09:54

Morning funkypea, I keep finding myself reaching for another test too. I know that I'm only just 5 weeks but the lack of symptoms is worrying me a bit. So far I've restrained myself (or I'm going to go bankrupt!). I have a digi test with conception indicator left but I've promised myself I'll hold off until the weekend.

sammysam hope the ms isn't too bad this time.

Hope the doctors appointment goes well boob.

I was told that I can't make an appointment until at least 8 weeks. The poor woman was trying to explain that they don't think it's worth it until then as so many early pregnancies don't stick without actually using the word miscarriage. I felt a bit sorry for her but was also really upset. I know I said I wouldn't get too excited too early but I feel so protective of this baby already. Roll on 12 weeks!

C1NDY · 28/01/2009 10:22

idreamofbeanie here, here. I agree with you. I have decided not to go to my doctors until week 9 as last time he really upset me by saying its too early and it may not last (without using the word MC). I worried about it so much and then I did MC. So have decided to only tell them after week 8 - might get a postive response then. It is annoying though, why can't they be positive for us. If shit happens then we can deal with it then... i don't know... okay having a moan ...must stop!!
