Here goes-I got a BFP on DPO 11 which makes me due 1st October. Was going to avoid the antenatal thread until I was completely sure but have already done 3 tests and am still not convinced. Come on and join in the worry fun.

HumphreysCorner · 28/01/2009 21:48

Of course pepperpots-I forget all the MN names once I've added them but I do remember you on that thread now. Cramping totally normal, annoying but normal.

inahurrymummy and littlemissbliss - my ds will be 2 in June. He's such a pampered little prince I can see him having great trouble bonding! Went to soft play with him today and met another lady who had four with her, two well under 2, and she managed so beautifully. I'm like a headless chicken with my one ds....

theboob · 29/01/2009 07:17

morning all
did my clearblue with conception and it said 3+
about your toodlers, when i had DD my DS had just turned 2,all the way through my pg i told him it was his baby, got him to hug my tum etc,i also bought him a doll and we changed its nappy, fed it,made it into a game result was he was not bothered at all, told people it was his baby and continued the game of feeding and changing nappys hope this helps you a little. My DS2 will be 2 next month and i will be doing the same thing this time around,I 'm also like a headless chicken with my DS2 on his own but when all 3 are together something kicks in and you learn to split your attention

pepperpots · 29/01/2009 08:02

Morning all

Cazza28 · 29/01/2009 08:22

Morning All!

theboob yes this will be my first!

I did my second digital this morning and got 2-3 weeks so increased from last weeks 1-2. Just told DH this morning as I didn't want to jinx it before I was sure. He had a nervous little giggle! Bless

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! x

Cazza28 · 29/01/2009 08:24

Sorry pepperpots forgot to answer I keep getting them on and off, I have read some where that this is quite normal!

pepperpots · 29/01/2009 08:26

We haven't told anyone yet. It is an extremley unhappy time for my sis-in-law as her baby would be due soon (lost baby at 30 weeks ) If we get to 12 weeks thats when we will start to tell anyone.
It is an amazing secret to keep though

idreamofbeanie · 29/01/2009 08:47

Hi pepperpots I had a few cramps last week but they have stopped. I still have a digi test I am saving for this weekend but I've promised myself I'll stop after that.

cazza good to have another first-timer!

Thought my boobs had been sore for the last couple of weeks but its just gone to a whole new level. They feel like a couple of huge overfilled water balloons - ouch.

sammysam · 29/01/2009 09:01

Morning ladies
Wow there have been loads of posts knew I should've looked last night-I'll never catch up now!!!

Hello to new joiners! Pepperpots-I have the cramping-don't remember it at all with dd so it is really bothering me but as nearly everyone here is also having them I can only think that they are normal....
and as someone said (sorry can't remember who) they get worse with each pg!

DD will be 3 yrs 2 months at the start of oct-hopefully she'll be able to help a lot! She is a very caring emotional soul-i'm sure she'll love having someone to help to look after!

I wouldn't have told ANYONE (except for dp!!) til after 12 wk scan but my sis is getting married in dec and was about to book a weeks hen thing in corfu for the end of sep.....so that forced me to tell her-I have made her give her word she will not tell anyone else (my mum included, although she has told her dp and dp's sis who is organising the hen do-she just found out she is due mid aug) this will be VERY hard for her as she has never been able to keep anything secret
I've also told my acupuncturist (sp) as she was helping me in my TTC quest and would be wandering why I haven't seen her in ages....and i'm having to make all kinds of excuses to friends as to why i'm not going to boxercise and Pilates-i feel bad and also i'm convinced they know-but just being paranoid i think.....don't know if I'll manage to keep their bluff for another couple of months though

Pepperpots-so for you sister-I can only imagine how bad things must be at the moment. Can I ask what happened? What a lovely sis to shield her at this time.

Can't remember what else except to say boob good grief what an amazing bump I thought i was getting quite big already as I can't do up some of my jeans and feel uncomfortable when I do-but tis nothing in comparison

LittleMissBliss · 29/01/2009 09:02

Good morning all. Still no syptoms as yet and i'm 4+3. (few little flutters thats all)

pepperpots

I also got 20 e-bay tests just i used arround 6 before i got my BFP and am still testing now! I'm with you i need to see that line getting darker.

Sorry to hear about your SIL, how awful i can't contimplate how devistating it would be to experience a loss at such a late stage of pregnancy.

theboob glad to hear your tips about toddlers and new babies. I think will def be implimenting them!

HumphreysCorner · 29/01/2009 09:52

Morning all

Lol at your testing strips I have run out so am using OPKs instead as you can use those as PG tests according to peeonastick.com.

5 weeks today but will use my digi on Saturday as it may not say 3+ weeks if I do it today. Feel a tad nauseous and (.)(.) still tender and DH is convinced they are getting bigger. Will buy some maternity jeans next Wednesday as that will be over 6 weeks by the time dad has shortened them. Just 4 weeks until I book an appointment with the MW.

pepperpots-that is tragic and sad about your SIL. Have they started TTC again or is it all too raw.

Hope you all have a great day.

pepperpots · 29/01/2009 11:02

There was no reason for it the doctors have said it was one of those things They weren't ttc and as far as I know have no plans to try again She did ask me a few weeks back how ttc was going and I said it didn't feel the right time.... She told me not to give up because of her and if I did she would be angry with me. I still wont tell them until about March, as I want to allow them to grieve properley without seeming like i'm rubbing their noses in it.

I am sat here like an impatient dog waiting for the postman.... knowing my luck they wont have sent them out yet and i been holding my wee for ages

idreamofbeanie · 29/01/2009 11:15

Oh pepperpots that's awful . I'm so sorry for your poor SIL and DB. I don't know whether it would help to know why it happened unless it was something they could check for/prevent in a future pregnancy but I think I would find it harder if it was 'just one of those things'. It's lovely of you to want to give them time to grieve before sharing your news but I'm sure they will be delighted for you when you do.

Hope your postman has arrived and your not still dancing around your living room with crossed legs .

I'm leaving my digi test until Sat too HC but I didn't know you could use OPKs - hmmm, might just have a little try .

HumphreysCorner · 29/01/2009 11:17

I have just done another OPK and it makes me laugh as the result line is so bright red and appears the second the wee touches it. Go on and do one.

pepperpots-are your tests here yet?

OP posts:
thefunkypea · 29/01/2009 11:26

Ok, I give in - I'm going to buy another two pack of digi tests - I'll leave it to the weekend........... hopefully I'll get a 3+!!!!!!!!!!!
Think I may have a stray OPK lurking at the back of a drawer somewhere (they NEVER worked for me, at least the way they're supposed to)

Happy testing pepperpots

HumphreysCorner · 29/01/2009 12:16

Lol-I never got +ives on an OPK when testing for OV but they sure work well as PG tests.

OP posts:
Chalkpink · 29/01/2009 12:27

Afternoon all,
I just did a digi and it came up with 2-3 weeks which reinforces my view that my real due date will be October. By my lmp my due date (and the one the midwife will probably give me) would be end of September but with a longer cycle I'm going to stick with October. All my babies have arrived at least 5 days later than my 'offical' due date.

Did someone mention slings? Anybody got any experience with them - which are the the best? I bought a baby bjorn for DD1 but none of mine have ever liked it. A sling would be great though, espically for school runs etc.

pepperpots · 29/01/2009 12:29

Grrrr no tests!!! Plus i'm not in work and DH has the car so can't just pop out and get one

HumphreysCorner · 29/01/2009 12:45

Damn pepperpots-tomorrow eh?

OP posts:
thefunkypea · 29/01/2009 13:24

I never thought I'd be waiting in anticipation for someone to pee on a stick - peppercorn, those tests had better arrive tomorrow eh!

chalkpink I never got on with the baby bjorns either, but bought a Karrime from my yoga teacher (oh, when I had the time to do such things.......) which took a degree in origami to put on, but was so comfy and secure for dd and me, need to rescue mine from my sister

thefunkypea · 29/01/2009 13:26

Peppercorn????????!!!! I am truly losing my marbles - maybe that's my first symptom?!

Sorry pepperpots

sammysam · 29/01/2009 13:59

Thanks for the opk tip-I have some I never got round to using-might go and give it a try-not that i'll know what it is supposed to do!!!

Re slings we had a BB which dd loved but I then progressed onto a Connecta which meant that our expensive pushchair never got used
DD only liked being upright so a pouch etc wouldn't have been so good for her-I can't wait to get to the point where I can get a few another one to use-I loved carrying dd with me so close-really miss it now and will def get a pouch for dc2

I'm losing my marbles too
Cramps are becoming more intermitant (sp) and sickness getting stronger. I'm waking up at 6 every morning as well for some reason and having trouble getting back to sleep...

DevilsAdvocaat · 29/01/2009 14:16
