Here goes-I got a BFP on DPO 11 which makes me due 1st October. Was going to avoid the antenatal thread until I was completely sure but have already done 3 tests and am still not convinced. Come on and join in the worry fun.

CINDY-i'm hoping (and thought before reading other threads!) that my body is just needing loads more water to make more blood, and all the fluid etc needed for baby...but it can also be a sign for diabetes....I'm sure it is normal though and good to hear littlemiss has had it before!

Littlemiss-it feels like an age already! And bloody ages til 12wks when I began to relax a bit with dd
I'm originally from Farnham, Surrey, lived in Plymouth for 4yrs at uni then a few years in Taunton and then down here! Tis lovelt to be able to pop to the beach daily to let dd build sandcastles

theboob · 26/01/2009 14:20

welcome to all newbies
today i have had cramps,so im glad t see im not the only ones
my stomach has also balloned over night,i'm keeping my fingers crossed that there is only one in there,2 of my cousins have just had nonidentical twins
my grandad is a twin ,I also had to much fluid last pg.But i have a bump already,I know it sounds unbeliveble but i have.Everybody at college commented today at where it has come from since friday,I am going to try and post a picture on my profile when DH is home
hope you are all well and its good to see that we are all exsperience things together

HumphreysCorner · 26/01/2009 15:38

Crikey, thought it was just me with a raging thirst. BTW the cramps last until 9/10 weeks.

Twins-eek, hopefully not in the HC house.

idreamofbeanie · 26/01/2009 15:58

Oooo I've been thirsty too. Does that count as a pregnancy symptom? Hooray, I can add that to the sore boobs and have 2 symptoms. I had a few mild cramps last week but nothing at all since Saturday.

No twins here either please, I think I'll have enough trouble trying to work out what to do with 1!

theboob · 26/01/2009 17:10

me too,i was asked today if i would like a boy or a girl,my reply was one
DD bless her wanted to feel baby kick today, should could not understand the no legs yet explanation,so i showed her a picture of 4-5 weeks......i think i have just given her nightmares, she was horrified shot myself in the foot as she now wants to know how it got there ,no idea how to have that talk,ds asked the same thing while i was pg with ds2 but after i said i'll tell you later he never asked again
any kind ways to explain this would be a god send

idreamofbeanie · 26/01/2009 17:34

No idea for explaining how the baby got in boob but I thought I would share a little story about getting the baby out. I was babysitting for a friends little boy when she was about 7 months pregnant. He had asked her during the day whether she was going to get any fatter (little charmer!) and she said that she would probably keep getting bigger until the baby was ready to come out. At some point in the evening he started crying and I asked what was wrong - he asked whether mummy would just get bigger and bigger then her belly would explode and the baby would fly out! Poor little mite, I think he had an 'aliens' type image of the baby bursting through her stomach. I spent the rest of the night trying to explain that the doctors would be able to take the baby out without having to explain how!

Sorry, that's not at all helpful but I just had a little giggle remembering.

C1NDY · 26/01/2009 18:27

Sammysam I live in Brookwood, I think we are neighbours!

doggus · 26/01/2009 20:21

Sammysam and Littlemissbliss I live in Poole too! How amazing....We moved down here from London ten years ago as dh is originally from Bournemouth. I love it here but still hanker after the north a bit as am orginally from Lincolnshire.

I feel a lot better after reading the list of symptoms we all have. I have been having ROTTEN cramps and was sure last night I was miscarrying. I also have terrible thirst and feel sick but boobs are fine which is totally different from my first pg.

sarns · 26/01/2009 20:36

Hello all, i am new to this and would like to join you, assume i am due in oct. congradulations to you all, its been nice reading all the excitment...

this is my first pregnancy, i am 31 and had a positive test on wed, last period mid dec but cant recall exactly when (15th or so), unplanned and not been living particularly healthily recently, drinking and smoking until last week, trying not to worry as there is little i can do about it now anyway.

partner and i are overjoyed, i am little aprehensive about getting too excited but i have been geeking out online trying to find the real likelyhood of an ms, some say 25%, some say 1/8, just praying and looking after myself. only symptoms are big sore boobs and cramping, similar to period pains, feels like ovaries hurting, which i can see now is not uncommon. also having strange discharge, a peach colour, is this what is refered to as spotting? i hope not, something tells me all is well so not worried about it but it would be good to know if anyone else is getting similar. there is very little of it and i have my initial doctors appointment tomorrow anyway so will bring it up.

any advice on what to cover with doc tomorrow? i have decided on my prefered hospital, 2 are equal distant from me in london and 1 is far better than the other based on recent gov reviews. do any of you know if i actually get a choice?

sorry for the long post... have been geeking out online about all things pregnancy and would love to hear from real poeple in the same boat... any advice apprecaited...

v v excited...

Chalkpink · 26/01/2009 20:49

Hi
Can I join you too?
Last period was 20th Dec which gives me a due date of end of Sept but I have a longer than average cycle which would put me into October. Would rather be here than the September thread as you all seem to be at a similar stage to me (the September bunch seem so advanced already!)

This will be DC#4 (gulp!). DDs are 6 and 4, DS is 20 months.

doggus · 26/01/2009 21:11

Welcome on board sarns and chalkpink.

Sarns - with my first I had a yellowy peachy discharge for the whole of the first trimester. Take it easy on yourself with the drinking and smoking thing - if you do a search you will see plenty of people with unplanned pregnancies who overindulged but it all turned out peachy.

Chalkpink - how lovely to have four. Fron what I have heard the leap from 3 to 4 is not so bad....

theboob · 26/01/2009 21:13

welcome to sarns and chalkpink
doc will prob leave things to your midwife who you will see around 10 weeks,he may just give you some folic acid ,cant help with the peachy discharge myself

DC 4 here for me too chalkpink are we mad????
my DC are 8 , 6 , and 23 months

OhBurger · 26/01/2009 21:50

hi all, got my bfp today. This will be dc4 and I am in shock

DP is surprisingly happy about it lol

LittleMissBliss · 26/01/2009 21:51

Gosh all of in Poole really is a small world! For all i know i've bumped into you both at a baby group or monkey bizznes!

Welcome sarns i've also had heavier discharge which freaked me out today because i thought i'd come on.

With the hospital thing i went through most of my pregnancy living in Dorchester with ds and moved to poole a few weeks before i delivered. I chose to deliver in Dorchester hospital because its newer and quieter and wasn't to keen on poole hospital. I'm going to deliver in Dorchester again. Its (20 minutes drive) so if it was an emergency i would deliver in Poole.

My first pregnancy was a happy accident and had got heavily drunk twice before i found out at 6/7 weeks i was pregnant. Ds is fine! very happy, and healthy so don't beat yourself up! I think only lng term alcohol abuse will affect an embreo or feoutus (sp).

the boob i want to see your tum! I think because you are on number four you will show allot earlier than us on number #1, #2. I'm jealous because i loved my bump but hated that limbo stage where i looked like i'd been munching on the pies.

Think i'll book a doc appointment in a couple of weeks as i've already stocked up on the folic acid and i want to be 100% sure.

Welcome chalkpink, you and theboob are mad number 4! Must be lovely having a house full of kids all at different stages.

LittleMissBliss · 26/01/2009 21:55

welcome ohbugger! Love the name. That's three of you on number four.

sarns · 26/01/2009 22:39

thanks for the warm welcome and advice, feeling v good about it all

doggus · 26/01/2009 23:08

Littlemiss - I go to Monkey Bizness a lot! Do you think they slipped something into the water?

Theboob - go on, I want to see your tummy too! You're lucky to have a little bump, I'd love it.

Littlemiss - is Dorchester much better than Poole? I had a bad time at Poole. Not so much the labour but the stay in the post-natal ward afterwards was hideous.

Welcome OhBurger....number four, wow, you too!

LittleMissBliss · 27/01/2009 07:52

Doggus- We love monkey biz we go at least once a week!

I would reconmend Dorchester. I had to visit Poole just before ds was born to get him monitored and found it really shabby and old.
Really put me off.

Dorchester is a new hospital. The labour ward is lovely and open lots of big windows (one way so you're not flashing anyone in labour) so its nice and bright. The staff are lovely. When i had ds think they were only four other ladies in so got my own room which was lovely. I hear that poole is often over crowded and short staffed.

I had to go into Dorchester overnight when I was arround 28 weeks and suffering palpertations. There was a lady there from Sherbourne who had requested Dorchester hospital over Yeovil because of the good rep and general feel of the place. The only thing she said was a bit of a pain was her Dh having to travel 30 minutes each day to see her.

I trained as a bossom buddy and we was offered in hospital raining to help women in poole hospital with bf advice but it just wasn't possible with ds being so young. Lots of mum's doing the training felt they hadn't received much or any advice towards feeding or attention when struggling because of the MW being so busy.

Right better go jump in the shower of to a 1-5 toddler group at 9.15...........littlemissbliss wonders if she'll bump into doggus or sammysam.......?

sammysam · 27/01/2009 09:18

Welcome to ohburger, sarns and chalkpink!

Cindy-I'm prob being very stupid but I don't know if there is a Brookwood near poole?! I know there is one near Wokingwhich is near where I grew up.....

I can't believe there are 3 of us living in Poole! How crazy! I haven't been to Monkey Bizzness yet-we spend a lot of time at Farmer Palmers though!!
I had my DD in Taunton so know nothing much about Poole hospital-except for a lot of bas tales...Dorchester however-I have heard a lot of great stuff-even people near Taunton travel there!

Just had my Triage phone appt with doc and have to go in and see him at 11.30-I'm so scared. He wants to do an abdominal examination and urine sample etc and get me on the system. AAAHHHHHHHH. Now this is a VERY stupid question indeed-any pressing and feeling he does etc can't do any harm can it??? I know they wouldn't if it did but i'm paranoid!!!
I'm scared ........ and very stupid!

HumphreysCorner · 27/01/2009 10:08

Morning ladies

sarns · 27/01/2009 11:05

hey ladies, i am officially due on the 22nd of sept just been told by the doc, had a great appointment and all seems well, i think i am therefore in the wrong group, sorry! by the way - what is temping?

C1NDY · 27/01/2009 11:29

Silly me, I think I misread your post Sammy its a sign of pg I think getting a little stupid!! heheehhe

sammysam · 27/01/2009 12:26

HumphreysCorner-I thought it was just me who is still temping I was wandering when I should stop.....maybe never
I've had a couple of drops (but not below the cover line) and it has scared me. I haven't been able to find any info on temps during pregnancy-mine are quite up and down above the coverline and i'm just hoping that is normal!!!
Cindy-don't worry-my brain is still shot after dd-i'm hoping it doesn't get worse each time Do you live near woking then?

Back from docs-he just said to keep an eye on the cramping but as the area is soft and i've had no bleeding there is nothing to worry about...... I am still going to worry He was a locum and didn't really know how the surgery works so good or bad he has booked me for first midwife appt next fri pm-aaaaahhhhhh!
Sarns-i expect my dates will be allover the place as I have a longish cycle and ov late as well....don't leave us..It just means you can be the first! And that you are nearer to 12 weeks !

sammysam · 27/01/2009 12:29

Ps try not to worry HC-i'm sure temps up and down must be normal as hormones are up and down as well-keeping my fingers crossed for you x x x

HumphreysCorner · 27/01/2009 12:59

Have just been reading the VIP messages on Fertility Friend and they say not to temp once you get a BFP but after 12 months of temping it is a hard habit to break. Have just used an OPK as a PG test and the result line was brighter than the control line. I will use my Digi on Sunday then stop temping. Sunday will be my last temp!

Good luck sarns, I've removed you from the list so you can add yourself to the September list.
