Here goes-I got a BFP on DPO 11 which makes me due 1st October. Was going to avoid the antenatal thread until I was completely sure but have already done 3 tests and am still not convinced. Come on and join in the worry fun.

I have added myself back. I was originally due the 1st but I think since having the early scans I am due around the 10th. Hopefully I won't have to take myself off after next weeks scan. i am so worried as i will be about 8 and a half weeks next week and thats the stage that both my previous mc have ended, so i am hopeing to see the heart beat still beating away.

I am now blown up like a balloon

All my blood tests/liver function tests have come back OK and the itchy feet have almost gone but, my fingers, wrists, knees and ankles are so swollen they are painful and stiff.

Saw midwife yesterday - on advice of my GP - and she wasn't very helpful apart from saying as all bloods were ok it's obviously nothing serious...... apart from I can't even grip anything properly !!

Guess the water retention has just started 25 weeks earlier in this pregnancy

On the plus side, have now got a scan on 25 March so 4 weeks tomorrow...... [waiting patiently emoticon]

Koumak · 25/02/2009 09:46

Good morning ladies, just added myself to the bottom of the list.
You all see so far ahead. v. wonder if i should skip over to the november one if there is one? my ds was 2 weeks late...

Morning! Can't keep up with this tread
I'm so sorry to all the people with news and wishing loads of luck to all with worries.
I can't look at the computer for long anymore as it makes me feel dizzy and weird-I hope this stops soon!

Well the pills are working...to a fashion-they stop nearly all the vomiting-still feel sick, but not nearly as bad. They just have other side effects-so yesterday I didn't take any-I could still feel I had some in my system. I thought i'd give my body a break, i'm going to take them as and when now-maybe one day on one off-as long as the sickness doesn't come back to the extent it was-i think it's worth a try-I'll just really keep an eye on how hydrated I am......

I'm really hoping the scan date comes though in the next few days.......
I'm having to avoid people at the mo as it would be so obvious-especially nosey people-like a friend who texted me last night asking if there was anything she neeed to know -now need to avoid her til after the scan!!!! Too many people know already for my liking......am I just being weird?

Really looking forward to spring-being able to go for lovely walks and hopefully not feeling ill! Oh and not having to be untruthful.....

fidelma · 25/02/2009 12:25

dont know how to add my name to list.sorry ballet dancer by trade didn't have much use for computers.could someone add me to thread please.Fidelma due 9/10/09 #3

[sigh] I am the most hormonal woman in the world! Have got a cold which really isn't that bad but everytime I cough I retch. My nose is running constantly, am supposed to be taking dd to swimming this afternoon but don't think I can cope with it. Have just rung dh at work and cried down the phone at him. Feeling guilty coz she loves swimming but equally she is driving me crazy. I think we need to get out of the house but the alternative is a playgroup where I reckon all of my friends will guess whats up. I've had a text yesterday asking if I'm ok, and I thought I was hiding it well!

I keep shouting at her too, she is being a bit of a madam bit I would normally have far more patience with her.

Will someone please slap me round the face? I need to get a grip!

HappyTangerine · 25/02/2009 12:56

Am having a better day-minimal car travel and rest are helping sickness and the infected tooth. Only a day and a half of antibiotics left, not that I'm counting down or anything!

Icantbelieveitsnotbitter - great news about the scan date but oww, this sounds so uncomfortable. Hope you start to feel better soon

lizzie - good luck for your scan next week

patmum - I went through a lot of my concerns with my gp yesterday (age, weight, rumours thst local hospital maternity is so overwhelmed that they are sending women miles away etc) and she was lovely, gave me a lot of information & choices.

sammysam - great news about the antiemetics,so glad they are helping

Fidelma - here you go
Sorry if I've missed anyone, its hard to keep track of this thread!

I've added myself. Due about 19th Oct with #3. Tiredness is a big issue at the moment, plus actual sickness rather than just feeling a bit queasy. Bring on the glowing in 5 1/2 weeks.

DevilsAdvocaat · 25/02/2009 14:12

hi everyone,
this thread moves fast!
have my mw appointment on friday, i will be just 8 weeks.
i feel like a big fat bloater at the moment.
i'm going to have to go and get some maternity wear.
i look a lot more pg than i am and am dreading someone asking how far along i am.

yesterday was a really sicky day, today not so bad.

dh's funeral is on next wednesday, i am doing a reading and am absolutely bricking it. i really hope i don't cock it up.

lixanismapolium · 25/02/2009 14:37

Hello All

Told my boss today. Still very early days, especially given my history of mc anyway, but I really need him to be flexible and understanding ... and how can he do that if he doesn't know what's going on.

He was brilliant. Told me to work from home as much as I need to and take it easy because work should not be my priority right now.

That's just what I needed.

altagloria · 25/02/2009 15:31

Well we went to the EPU for my scan today after a couple of days of light period-like brown bleeding and mild period pains.

I was not completely surprised to see that there was a very small pregnancy sac there, one whose size is not compatible with my dates of 7+3. They said the size fitted a normal sac of about 5 weeks gestation. Ironically we got the BFP at 5 weeks so if it had just come out then we wouldn't have been any the wiser.

I was kind of expecting it, not just because of the bleeding but because the last few days I had felt increasingly not pregnant. I know the lack of ms didn't mean anything at all in itself but I just knew, can't explain it. Even though I had metal mouth, bigger breasts, stretching cramps and fatigue.

So I am to expect the bleeding (which apparently may have nothing to do with the mc at the moment) to get heavier until I pass the sac. Then another scan to check.

I think we're ok, it was my first pregnancy and the first month off the Pill so just looking at it as one of those things. We are definitely trying again as soon as possible and are totally optimistic for the next time.

Sorry for the long post. Best of luck to everyone and I hope the time until those 12 week scans passes quickly and smoothly x

lixanismapolium · 25/02/2009 15:48

Sorry altagloria. Unfortunately so many of us have been there. Just take it easy and look after yourself for a few weeks. Thinking of you.

Cazza28 · 25/02/2009 15:51

oh altagloria sorry to hear your news. Glad you are ok though. Good luck for the next TTC! Hopefully we will hear from you soon x

smallone · 25/02/2009 16:16

Thanks HT and fidelma Feeling a bit better now, went to playgroup and cuddled my friends newborn which cheered me up, and dd played independently for 2 hours and is now asleep. Hurrah! Think my friend has guessed but she's not asking and I'm not telling!

lix really pleased that your boss is supportive, it must have taken a load off your mind!

altagloria Very sorry to hear its bad news, you sound like you have a positive outlook on it all tho, and I wish you all the best for the future. [Hugs]

HumphreysCorner · 25/02/2009 16:20

altagloria-I am so very sorry to hear your news. Take care of yourself and good luck for the future. {{xx}}

DevilsAdvocaat-your post gave me heart failure. Think you missed the word grandma out-still very though.

Tried to buy some maternity jeans today but Mothercare only had the silly under the bump ones so need to order online from Next for proper over the bump ones.

Better get on, more pancakes to make.

Sparklytwinkletoes · 25/02/2009 16:32

Hi all,

Sorry to hear your news altagloria.

Devilsadvocaat, I second HC's heart stopping moment, then I realised there was a word missing. My friend has been there recently and found doing the reading a tough but really healing thing to do. Hope its OK for you.

I've spent most of the day in hospital. It started off with me having violent D again this morning, so rang NHS Direct, they said to go see GP. So got appt. for 9.30. He said he didn't know what was wrong and asked me to wait in the waiting room. He then called me back in and said he'd spoken to the EPAU at the local hospital and to go along to see them.

So I did.

They didn't seem overjoyed to see a patient with D. Understandable really. I was there from about 11 to 4, and have been prescribed some antinausea medicine and some anti-cramping medicine and they think its all stress related.

I've finally had something to eat, and as I sit here and type, my stomach sounds like its singing a bizarre whale song and I'm just waiting for the next (ahem, TMI ALERT) erruption.

On the upside, they have asked me to go back in for a scan in the morning to check 100% that everything is OK and its not due to LO being settled in the wrong place.

What a day. I just need my insides to calm down for a bit. Hope the drugs work

Sorry for selfish post, especially when there are others with so much worse to deal with right now.

Cazza28 · 25/02/2009 16:54

I didn't realise the word was missing, I was a bit shocked! Sorry to hear about your gran though. Thats still very hard.

Sorry to hear you have had such a bad day sparkly Keep us posted with news about the scan.

I have now been asked twice today if I am pregnant - I didn't think you showed this early with your first, I blamed it on over indulging as I went bright red! Oh well hopefully will be able to tell all soon and they wont think I am a piglet! I still fit comfortably in to my size 12 trousers though!

HumphreysCorner · 25/02/2009 18:17

Sparkly, last weekend I had horrendous runs but thankfully that passed. Hope all is OK tomorrow.

Hello everyone - waves Long time no speak - I have been on holiday and since then work has been so busy - I get home, have some food, and fall asleep!

Devils I also though it was your dh!!!

So sorry to hear about people with losses - really really and infruriating! My sister's friend had early MCs before each of her children and her midwife said it can be the body's way of clearing out or making way for a good one so to speak! So keep trying!!!

Good luck to those with scans etc too - what a rollercoaster this is, and how time goes ssoooooo slowly.. I am still knicker checking after last month's chemical pregnancy although as I am feeling increasingly sick and shattered, I am feeling more and more optimistic...

I am sick as a dog most days - and I sometimes have to get up in the night to eat branflakes as I wake up ravenous. I actually wretched the other morning - it is getting worse! I am also finding it sooooooo difficult to get out of bed in the morning and have been waking up at around 3:30am - sometimes to eat and sometimes just for fun?! It is weird though - I am not stressed or thinking about anything and I can go back to sleep, I am just awake for half an hour or so...

I am also finding work really hard - too busy and often feel as though I will fall asleep on my feet...

DevilsAdvocaat · 25/02/2009 18:47

arggghh I AM SO SORRY FOR ALARM I MAY HAVE CAUSED!

it freaks me out even looking at that sentence.

thanks for all your kind words.

altgoria, so sorry love
look after yourself over the coming weeks x

MustGetSleep · 25/02/2009 19:18

Wow this thread goes fast.

So sorry altgoria

Devil - hope all goes ok.

I'm starting cutting things out of my diet - I know that with the last two I had very specific triggers (sort of like a pregnancy based allergy), so am working on that theory again. The thought of 40 weeks of this is hell

DH is being amazing though - normally a lovely man, but needs a kick to do anything, he is being helpful, went to the shop before I woke today (must've gone about 6.30am) to buy orange juice to take my iron in, and croissants for breakfast (which I was good and attempted to eat ). I'd forgotten the killer tiredness though, I am a sleepy person in general, so this is hell. I slept for most of the day .
