Here goes-I got a BFP on DPO 11 which makes me due 1st October. Was going to avoid the antenatal thread until I was completely sure but have already done 3 tests and am still not convinced. Come on and join in the worry fun.

Hi all - have been away from MN since my first post.

treats - our houseboat is in Barking - not the nicest of areas but a nice community - which is going to have a lot of tiny new members this year - our baby will be the 3rd. We are currently renovating the whole thing - but with sights set on bathroom and our bedroom - plus a dishwasher.

Have been feeling sick all day everyday - by this stage with ds1 was throwing up - nausea is worse than vomiting tho' as it doesn't go away - also having problems with feeling faint and exhausted - feel more tired than I did last time. Anybody else feel like their nipples are going to freeze off - had it with ds1 too but not this early.

Haven't booked in yet - as have to register with GP might just self refer to hospital - would like to have 12 week scan this time as they lost my referral with ds1 so didn't get to see him til 19 weeks.

Very sad for everyone who has dropped out - know how horrible it can feel - not personally but my mum had a MC at 12 weeks when I was 12 and it was devastating.

A little about myself: originally from NZ lived here just over 3 years, 26, been with partner a little over 4 years, don't really have a profession other than SAHM (not housewife, partner lucky to get clean pants - especially at the moment), been engaged fora year this month - but unlikely to br getting married anytime soon.

Have corrected my EDD.

Oh and DS1 is 15mths today.

smallone · 24/02/2009 18:25

altagloria Sorry your body is messing you around, I hope time flies between now and tomorrow.

Went to gp today, I'm 6+3 but he refers to it as "in my 7th week" which makes me feel better! He's referred me to mw and said they'll ring me to make a booking appt, prob next week. It means I've got to put my bowel investigations on hold unless my symptoms get worse and I've got to take extra folic acid incase I'm not absorbing properly. But all in all a good visit and now its starting to feel real!

I've just realised today that dh is away for 4 days over the weekend of mothers day and I don't think dd (2) has the capacity to wish me a happy mothers day on her own?

altagloria · 24/02/2009 18:37

babyinacorner glad you're doing ok and hope you get another BFP very soon, if that's your plan. Sorry you have had such bad luck this time x

Prisci · 24/02/2009 18:56

Hi, I thought I would add myself to the list .

charmargot thank you, it is true there is plenty of time to wean him, I guess we are not ready yet, hopefully it will be before his brother or sister is born.

Is anyone else, having visions of twins, I know it is very unlikely in our case (neither DH or I, have any in the family), but since my bump is so big, I just can't help thinking of it. I am also desperate to know the sex, I am almost tempted to go to the US to get one of those bloodtest...I know crazy...just blaming it on the hormones. It is only for practical reasons too, honest , since we live in Bermuda, there is not much choice, so it would make life easier if I could get everything when we go to the UK next.

I am so desperate for a nap, but DS1 simply has other ideas..

babyinacorner-take care and I sincerely hope you get a BFP in the next 3 months.

Prisci-I am convinced it is twins being as though a fortune teller once told me I would have twins. None in the family but they have to start somewhere down the line don't they? I have a definite pudding podge bump now and with feeling this sick

altagloria-I think it is rotten making a lady who has bleeding/spotting wait until the next day for a scan. Sadly when I started to MC I had to wait a day so was really worked up and the MW asked me why I was crying????? Everything crossed for you that the spotting stays brown and that all is well.

Time is dragging. With my last 2 pregnancies the first 12 weeks led up to New Year so I was really busy preparing for Christmas as I have to do all the shopping/wrapping/card writing/food preparing etc. Luckily I love Christmas. Might have to start even earlier this year as can't imagine all that hectic shopping with a newborn (that's if I ever get that far of course pessimist that I am).

Love to all

Hi all just popping in,

Had a lets say scary interesting day today!

Ds (15 months) likes to look out of the patio doors in the kitchen-dinner, as they look out to the garden and that's his favourite place, besides the beach at the moment.

Which is normaly fine. But i heard an almighty scream and saw him face down by the (locked) doors his mouth was bleeding a little and on further inspection he had chipped one of his beautiful front baby teeth[shock! After a cuddle he was fine and back to normal. I though i'd go to the childrens clinic to try and get a referal to a local dentist (as i have kept my old one as getting an NHS dentist is such a pain) he is not registered as yet as he's too young.

HV were all out so took ds to the nearest dentist who was lovely and agreed to see ds even though we have no connections to the surgery. Luckily its only a little chip and ds din't flinch when the dentist was having a look so hopefully no deeper damage than the superficial chip as long as no nerves have been damaged and die but that won't show for years to come and even if that was the case they would leave the tooth for spacing reasons and wait for it to be pushed through by his adult teeth.

Ds is on just bottles and no solid food for a week whilst tooth re-settles. Which is really strange because we BLW, its funny feeding him constant mush! Hopefully the sharp corners will file themselves down when he's back on solids if not we will have to go back and get it smoothed off but dentist didin't seem to keen as i don't think it will be the easiest feat!

Anyway i felt like a crapola mum today but now realise there was nothing i could have done, accidents happen. And the dentist said even though its a little chip we can fix it if we want when he gets older, but he wont keep his mouth dry enough for the glue to go off at his age.

Sorry for the long post but had to get it off my chest! Feel free to add any children getting into scrapes story to make me feel better

Hope all suffering with MS are managing to eat a little and rest. Feel a bit cheated to have two MS free pregnancies.

Baby wishing you all the best for the future!

doggus · 24/02/2009 20:05

Well I went for my scan today and unbelievably I have to go back AGAIN in 2 weeks. I have a heartbeat yay! But the gestational sac is smaller than it should be. He explained it might be irrelevant or could be that the baby is not growing properly. So I have another 2 weeks of agony.

Littlemissbliss - to make you feel better - the very first night I took ds home from hospital we had to go back to A and E an hour later in an ambulance! I decided I would give him a dummy and so sterilised it in Milton before giving it to him. I noticed he made a funny face and thought I'd better read the instructions on the bottle . I never knew you had to dilute it! So poor ds at 7 days had a mouthful of neat bleachy Milton. I wanted to die in horror. All the way to hospital I screamed and he kipped. I was in such a state they met me at the door and told me he would have to ingest 35ml to hurt him and he had had about 5ml. So all was well but I do think I might win the crapollest mum in the world prize!

Thanks for your post doggus and you are not a crapola mum!, I bet that was scary for you too! These babies come with a lifetime of worry!

I've just gooogled, 'chipped toddler front tooth' and loads of other parents post have put my mind at rest that i don't neglect my child..... but no dobt my dad will make some snide remark allong those lines. Think i will probably take him to have it fixed when he reaches 2+ and is alittle more understanding of the situation.

8+1 wish time would fly not stand still. Must stop complaining and start enjoying

Supercherry · 24/02/2009 21:20

Er, hi ladies. Can I join you please? I just had a positive pregnancy test result and think I am due October (though it could be November!) Would be nice to have people to share pregnancy with

tracyea · 24/02/2009 21:42

Altagloria - good luck for tomorrow, I'll be crossing everything for you.

I'm feeling very pleased with myself as I've been to the gym! Stuffed my face before and afterwards but hey what's a girl to do!!

theboob · 24/02/2009 21:51

good luck baby x x

congratulations and welcome to any newbies

littlemissbliss, there was nothing you could have done, my DD was jumping on the bed and fell and broke her elbow but the hospital said it was fine and all weekend i thought she was being a drama queen untill it swelled up like a ballon they missed the break in the xray and i hated myself for doubting her and i was pg with ds2 so could not go in the xray room and comfort her when she wanted me,that was a really horrible time and i felt like the worst mummy ever

goos luck for your scan tommorow altagloria x x

hope you are all ok,i'm so tired and night time sickness is kicking in,take care all x

MrsHappy · 24/02/2009 21:59

Just adding myself to the list too.
I've put myself down as 22 Oct, as that is the date the hospital came up with based on LMP, but I personally think 23.10 is more accurate...

to hear about those who have had to drop off the thread. Take care of yourselves. x

Welcome to the new ladies.

And good luck for tomorrow, Altagloria.

Although I am not posting much I am lurking -I don't want to get too involved until I am sure this one is a keeper. In the meantime it is really interesting to read about all of your symptoms. Some of you seem so sick it sounds like twins to me! As for me, I am incredibly bad tempered today but have no idea is that is a symptom or not! Otherwise not many symptoms this end. Occasional nausea and an obsession with eating oranges but that is it...

I went to see the midwife at the GP yesterday to discuss my birth options. I know, it's ridiculously early but I am about to go on holiday for a couple of weeks and I had such a bad time having DD I am determined to take control this time. She was very nice, which was a good thing, but kept refering to "dilation" as "dilatation" which made me giggle.

Anyway, I probably won't be about for the next couple of weeks, but will follow from afar if I get time!

Just adding myself back in as I seem to have disappeared off the list.

Had a terrible day today with MS and upset tummy . Have managed two dry slices of toast with a sliced tomato for tea... very tasty and um, slightly nutritious?

Hope I feel better tomorrow...

Baby, good luck, glad things went OK today, as well as they could. It didn't hit me till much later and came as a bit of a shock, don't be afraid to let it all out if need be. All the best for next time x

HappyTangerine · 24/02/2009 23:56

Attagloria - good luck for tomorrow, will be thinking of you

doggus - I hope your two weeks goes quickly

Babyinacorner - hope to see you back very soon

Sparkly - I really feel for you, hope
you have a better day tomorrow

JemL and SuperyCherry -hello and congratulations!

Littlemissbliss - my friends's 18 month old son fell over when they were playing football a few years ago and he bit off half his tongue. They were horrified and felt so guilty but doctor said it is a common thing for children to do and the tongue would grow back. And it did!

I had to see the doctor today after a bad night with the antibiotics. She confirmed my pg, I signed the form for free prescriptions and we went through some do's and don't re my job. Unfortunately, I am stuck with these antibiotics-erythromycin may be making me ill but as I'm allergic to penecillin, its all I can take. She did say to try 2 tablets 3x a day rather than 4. She examined the swelling and thinks the infection has spread to my jaw bone so treatment now urgent but I says I need that confirmed by the dentist. Am worried about having a x ray.

On her advice I rang to see if I can get next weeks dentist appointment moved forward. Dentist is off sick and they won't perform root canal when tooth is infected as
it stops local anisthetic working and I wouldn't be able to cope with the pain. So I finish the course and wait. I look like I have a tangerine stuck in one cheek, its so swollen . Have been signed off work for my last week and told in no uncertain terms to rest. We also discussed the vomiting and I need to go back next week-if its still as bad, she may prescribe anti-emetics?
SammySam - are they working for you?

I'm normally a happy, bouncy person, honest but tooth pain is so grim I've turned into Eeyore!
x

Hi just dropping back in to add myself. have no idea when I'm due, when last AF was or anything (clueless emoticon) but am going to doctor's today for 1st time, so excited!!! Maybe he will tell me more...
DH still trying to pretend this isn't happening but got a bollocking for ignoring me so is now at least being nice to me. But he is stressed. Oh well, as my mate said, he's got another 7 months to get used to it...
Luckily no MS, just afternoon nausea and evening fatigue.
Must do some work!!

Hi All

treats I too have horrid spots but usually do suffer from rosacea which I can't take the medication for now that I'm pregnant. I assumed that it was the rosacea coming back but I'd love to think it was "just" pregnancy and might calm down.

I guess hormones are all over the place so it might be related.

Finally off to see the doctor tomorrow to "get the ball rolling". Hopefully, MW appointment and scan dates will follow shortly after.

After an emergency c-section last time with other complications, I have so many questions/anxieties but I guess it's a little early to address these. I don't know whether to raise them now to start trying to get my head round them and (hopefully) reduce my stress levels or to wait for a while. I don't even know if a GP would be able to answer. Maybe it's more of a midwife thing. Any thoughts?

Patmum (8+1)

Hello all.
Wecome Super and Jem.
I wish you lots of love and luck for the future baby.x
Well I'm 5 weeks today, my edd is 20th Oct but both my ds' were exactly a week early so who knows.
My ds1 had to have his chin glued when he was just over 1 as he fell off a slide that he really shouldnt have been on.
He also had a meningitis scare when I was 8 months pg with ds2 and I couldnt go in with him for xray, heart scan etc very heart breaking.
Ds2 fell over with a spare rib in his gob at a bbq and cut his lips to shreds, but we couldnt get him to stop eating the bloody rib! There was soooo much blood.
He also cut his head open on a door and lost a lot of blood, he had a bandage wrapped around his head bless him and loads of glue again.
There have been so many instances with my 2 boys that I would be writing all day! Dont worry these things happen.
Ive been up since 5, just cant sleep, dont feel tired though.
I have been doing 2 body attack classes a week but choosing the low impact versions, my gp thinks Im mad and have been told to take it easy! Good oh.
