TMI WARNING

Dh actually said to me on the way to the hospital 'I want to see that layer of fat under your skin, I think it would be so cool to see your insides.'

Reader, I married a fucking weirdo.

MarkStretch · 30/01/2009 19:11

I'm sorry if that made anyone feel queasy.

DizzyBrummie · 30/01/2009 19:11

It was a close call for DH staying with me, he did say a couple of times that 'I don't think I can do this'. He really isn't good with hospitals fullstop, I'm really hoping that he can last the natural birth out..

PinkTulips · 30/01/2009 19:12

sorry MS but you just made me laugh out loud with that

i can understand your dh wanting to see it all..... i'd freak out if i couldn't, thank god i've never needed a cs because the war i'd have to fight to be allowed to see everything would be monumental.

i'm sure the consultant didn't think you were deranged... slightly paniced maybe but that's understandable and i'm sure he sees it alot.

i'm surprised they were surprised about the high bp after all that though!

have we thought of a new thread title yet?

how about; Fab Feb 2009: Can anyone beat Laidback for fastest/coolest birth?

Questionkid · 30/01/2009 19:25

Swampy and MS, you ladies is just plain WEIRD (referring to little interchange a few pages back), however, thank you for making me smile (and even manage a little giggle) for the first time today.

I just feel like poo. No reason, just too blimmin pregnant. Went up to the hospital this morning for my blood results and all was well. My BP was a bit high but as per usual I was sent on my way home with the usual signs to look out for and told to come back on Monday to go through the whole rigmarole again.

I know I should be grateful that everything's ok, really I do, but I have absolutely no energy today, have bad backache, slept terribly last night, keep crying for no reason and DH is on nights all over the weekend. Add to that the pain and discomfort from SPD and carpal tunnel and I JUST WANT THIS BABY OUT OUT OUT!!!! And I'm not even due until Tuesday.

Cake. And biscuits. They'll help. And chocolate. All washed down with Gaviscon. Yummy.

herbgarden · 30/01/2009 19:55

My DH was absolutely fascinated by my CS and at one point apparently saw one of my internal organs sitting on my belly (presumably waiting to be popped back in the right place ) - it's like I was some sort of science experiment....

Anyway, on the eating front. I had my last supper on Thursday night at 7ish. As my waters broke at 7am on Friday I didn't eat any breakfast just in case. I just sipped water til my section which ended up being at 3pm but felt increasingly light headed. Don't know what they would have said if I had have eaten breakfast? Anyway, I was sick from the drugs after my section that I couldn't even keep water down (despite anti sickness injection) so didn't eat anything til brekkie on Saturday at about 6.30am. I could have had tea and toast pretty much straight after if I'd have wanted to

swampster · 30/01/2009 19:56

Today, I have mostly doing been sleeping. And puzzles with small boys. And reading The Cat in the Hat...

swampster · 30/01/2009 19:57

QK

Herb that is GROSS!!!

herbgarden · 30/01/2009 20:01

ok I've just realised that for the nervous - that has soo not helped matters - head not in gear . SOrry !!!

swampster · 30/01/2009 20:02

Can I just say, I really hate your guts !

MrsY · 30/01/2009 20:05

Think John is quite keen for birth to be a cs, as he is fascinated by the idea of seeing my insides (think he would offer to assist the surgeon if he could ). On the other hand, if it's a natural birth, he would be firmly at the head end!!! For both our sakes!

littleboyblue · 30/01/2009 20:12

OMG. I just had the biggest scare! I went to log on to MN and couldn't!!!!!!
When I finally got here, I didn't have any tool bars so couldn't navigate the pages, couldn't get into any topics etc, but all seems to be ok now.............
phew

spottyshoes · 30/01/2009 20:23

Lol MS. Despite DH still being traumatised by what he saw, he does tell anyone who'll listen that fat cells look really cool! And there's loads of 'em. yeah cheers for that

I'm off to trough some doughnuts Dh has brought back for me.

littleboyblue · 30/01/2009 20:56

After all that hassle trying to get in, I'm boggin' off now. Dp wants to watch Transporter 2 on the telly, we watched the first one the other week, bit too strange for me, but I should make the effort as have a few things lined up for him as he's home for 3 weeks! hehehe

Goodlucj Lardy, will check in later or tomoz. x

MrsY · 30/01/2009 21:16

Can I get some advice? AIBU

chilledmama · 30/01/2009 21:44

feeling a bit better...thanks for messages!
DH being really good about it all which has been a huge comfort.
Had reflexology on Wed afternoon and went to a Moxibustion specialist this morning...NOTHING To be fair, the doctor who did the moxi did say that I should take a course of 6 sessions but that would end up costing £120+
I have felt completely out of it since the session though...not sure it was mugwort in his candles...if you know what I mean!!!
On the down side...because I've been down in the dumps for a couple of days I haven't been eating very well i.e. surviving on chocolate and rice pudding etc MW checked urine this evening and it came up with ketones and glocuse...she's told me to avoid eating anything sugary now until after birth...which is fair enough considering that success rate goes down, for Breech delivery, as the baby's weight goes over 3800g.
Anyway...also having lots of very mild contractions, so not expecting to get to 40 weeks.
Lardy- goodluck
