wow, congratulations LB, what an amazingly quick delivery. Just read your post to my DH who appears to be in shock at the thought of a hubby delivering his baby. Think he is very relieved we are having a CS 3 weeks early.

so are the girls outnumbering the boys so far?

MarkStretch · 29/01/2009 14:14

Wooooooooohoooooooooo!

Go Laidback! That is AMAZING!

And welcome Mabel!

onwardandupward · 29/01/2009 14:20

laidback that's just a wonderful waterbirth story!!!! I'm reading it aloud to my bump and hoping that (s)he is taking notes. And my eyes might be leaking a bit in sentimental appreciation...

rosieposey · 29/01/2009 14:42

Hello all

Gosh i dont post for a couple of days and there are two babies!

Congratulations to IDBL on the birth of Freya, what a beautiful name :-)

And congratulations to Laidback on the birth of Mabel, that was on my list of girls names What a birth story too! If that had been my DH he would have been panicking like nobodies business.

Am glad your nearly there in terms of your maternity leave Dinky, now you can put your feet up albeit temporarily.

Nkweto arent you due today, or is it tomorrow? Good luck with that - sending you good labour vibes

Mamagoose your due on my birthday on Saturday - the 31st is a great day to be born

Monday section ladies, am terribly as ive got to wait till Friday but i am really looking forward to your positive stories and photos, a week doesnt seem like so long but its bloody ages to me! I was interested to read what herb said about not needing such big sanitary towels after the catheter is removed because i bought two 48 packs of mothercare maternity towels (which are like nappies incedently) in anticipation for a really heavy flow, would be great if i could switch to some always within a couple of days. Will also take in some prune juice as wont need to worry about taking insulin anymore after the birth so can have fruit juice again woo hoo!

Had an appointment with my consultant yesterday, she was her usual rottweilery self but i have insisted that she puts me on something else post delivery for BP and i notice in my notes that she has written that i have to go on Labetalol - dunno if you can take that with asthma though - just want to come off it altogether but i suppose will have to see how BP is post delivery. I have my pre op appt this afternoon so will be glad to get that done. I have to go in the night before my section due to the diabetes as they put you on a insulin and glucose drip to stop you getting hypos. I am gutted that i cant spend the night with DH and the girls though and know i wont get a bloody wink of sleep. TBH i will probably be on here moaning and shitting myself silly about the next morning

Everyone is having babies now - and i can hardly believe that we are actually nearly in Fab Feb, I am going to get DH to take me out for a lovely Italian scoff for my B/day on Sat i think, although dont feel like celebrating as am 37 lol. Hope everyone else is managing alright with their aches and pains - will soon be over and everyone will be busy and tired with their newborns - hooray!

Calico1 · 29/01/2009 14:55

oh Spotty - don't worry DS will be happier than you!

spottyshoes · 29/01/2009 15:03

To cheer myself up I've just done a bit of retail therapy on line and bought a Phil & Teds

PinkTulips · 29/01/2009 15:16

fancy doing some on my behalf?

what colour did you get?

nkweto · 29/01/2009 15:19

Rosie.. yes I am due tomorrow (but suspect I may not have a baby quite yet !) ... absorbing all the good labour vibes

eejaykay · 29/01/2009 15:28

Wow, amazing babyness! Congrats Laidback, what an amazing story! And to oogs, dinkymum, herbgarden and IDBI... I know I must have missed out on some babies but I've got so far behind i just had to skim the last few pages.

Very of all you getting closer to having babies, still 4+ weeks for me, and another week at work. I shall be Jeanie-no-mates still on here in mid-March... Yay Dinkystinky for getting to your maternity leave, you deserve it!

I'll try and catch up properly soon. All is well here though I'm trying to resist the chocolate only diet - everything else feels like too much effort. Very knackered and feeling like a twerp for staying on at work so late. Anyone else still working so I can grump with them?

Good luck all MOnday CSers...oh, just lots of lurky good wishes for everyone.

Calico1 · 29/01/2009 15:34

I'm still working eejaykay.... we can moan away during Feb together.

Just got my C Section date for the 19th Feb but expect I'll be working up to the last minute (mainly cos I spend too much time on MN and not enough time getting on with it!). Was hoping for an earlier date as that is practically my due date and I want my baby now...,

LittleMissNorty · 29/01/2009 15:52

Afternoon

Bloody hell Laidback.....congratulations . And welcome to Mabel. OMG, my DH would be shitting himself if we went through that, but bloody well done to all of you....

I'm the 3rd section on Monday.....Herb was due to be the 4th but she beat us to it .

I can't wait now.....getting excited. Sure I won't be quite as excited Sunday evening. Having a slight wobble about being sterilised at the same time, but shall discuss it at the hospital tomorrow when I go for pre-op assessment...I know its the right thing for us to do.

Right, better pay DD some attention!

swampster · 29/01/2009 15:55

Wow! laidback!!! Are you absolutely sure you're not still dreaming and little Mabel isn't still tucked up like a tortoise inside you? Congratulations.

McDreamy · 29/01/2009 15:56

Oooh Calico that is my birthday and my due date but they wouldn't let me wait that long Thank you for the restaurant/pub recommendations btw!

WOW LB what a truly amazing birth story and welcome Mabel - another fab name!

Pempe · 29/01/2009 15:56

Laidback huge congratulations and what an amazing story. And another gorgeous name!

My bump has changed shape today dramatically, and LO has spent most of the day kicking me so far over on the right, about 3" above my hip bone, it's practically my back. I can't imagine what position he's in. What a little weirdo.

PinkTulips · 29/01/2009 16:07

LMN... why are you going for sterilisation with the cs? is it not supposed to be better to wait for a while?

spottyshoes · 29/01/2009 16:08

Beige PT. Probably my last choice of colour in their range but it was £70 cheaper than the rest so can't complain

Eejaykay - I'll be here too if I dont go naturally, my CS is booked for 5th March!

Ooo just thought, for those of us late Febbers, if we go over will you still allow us on the Fab Feb PN thread or will we be banished to March

LittleMissNorty · 29/01/2009 16:12

Being sterilised at the same time so I don't have to go back....they cut the tubes here rather than tie/clip so its reliable. Quite final though....but as my lovely DH reminded me...."we are no spring chickens any more"

PinkTulips · 29/01/2009 16:21

spotty... we wouldn't let you leave!

i had ds in july but stayed on my aug06 PN thread as i felt it would be odd starting with a new group after all those months.

LMN... lovely of him to point that out, lol. didn't know they cut the tubes, had heard lots of stories of tubes being tied during cs and the steralisation failing once the swelling went down.

dinkystinky · 29/01/2009 16:42

Spotty - am fairly sure I'll be with you and Eejaykay at the end of February waiting for lazy little babies to appear... we'll just have to keep everyone company!

Right ladies, given the rate we chat at we'll need a new thread at some point tomorrow/over the weekend so is time to get thinking caps on...

How about "Its Fab, Its Feb (ish), its 2009 - come on babies, its show time"
