swampster · 25/01/2009 22:24

Are herb and dinkymum on FB? Who is SJ in the FB group who has had a gorgeous wee boy???

idontbelieveit · 25/01/2009 22:57

Hey Herb, huge congratulations. you've made me feel somewhat less scared about my section tomorrow.

Speak soon guys, off to try and get some sleep, got to be at hospital for 8am.
Can't believe i'm meeting my little girl tomorrow! Will mobile update my facebook if i get a chance.

rosieposey · 25/01/2009 23:09

Good luck again IDBI - you must be so excited!

Off to sleep myself now - hope you all have relatively peaceful/restful and contraction free sleeps

swampster · 25/01/2009 23:25

Have a great section, IDBI!

TinkerBellesMumandFiFi2 · 26/01/2009 00:40

I can?t catch up on 6 pages!

OK, yesterday we went to hospital and they redid her levels. The doctor had spoken the nurse and knew all about us and was waiting to do the levels. He was going to keep her in because of her feeding (she hadn?t fed since the previous night apart from 90ml through the syringe) we were admitted to the ward. I expressed loads of milk (3 bottles ) I was in so much pain from not feeding for so long, I wouldn?t have mentioned the feeding otherwise but I couldn?t have gone any longer without expressing. Anyway we got to the ward and they gave her one of the bottles, they would have cup fed her but couldn?t wake her enough so she had to have it as a bottle (I couldn?t watch ) she had 50ml and started to wake up. Another doctor came and said she?d told the nurse that we could wait till Monday as the levels weren?t that high so she was rather surprised to see us. She also wasn?t sure why we had been sent to the ward so she sent us home. 24 hours after going on strike Sîan started feeding again, she?s still been quite slow though, her soft spot is a little sunk but she is feeding well when she gets on. On a positive note, I fell asleep feeding her this morning and noticed awhile later she relatched herself and fed without any input, which is a first, so I?m pleased she did that now when things have been difficult IYSWIM.

Today I have been busy sorting out my room (at my parents). I think as I?m due next week my nesting instinct has kicked in! Mum spent 10 hours ironing (mostly my stuff as I bought a lot of washing over that TBD didn?t do as I?ve been here since before Christmas) and I?ve been putting it away, which meant rearranging the cupboards and I?ve been cleaning the room at the same time, trying to make it ours rather than the spare room everyone sleeps in when they stay come storage for my brother and sister?s things that they didn?t take with them. My back is killing!

Congratulations Herb! The exclusive club is getting bigger!

I remember someone on a parenting forum said they had sex 14 times in one day in an effort to speed things up! I?m not sure I could get to 14 times if I wasn?t pregnant, let alone when I was full term! That?s the problem with natural induction it takes a lot of it to work.

To all you who are still having sex, enjoy it while you can! We?ve tried a couple of times but either Sîan wakes or I?m just not able

MOS you don?t have to get your thighs apart you know Anyone, quick change of subject, don?t be embarrassed, like IDBI says it?s normal to be feeding at this age. I?ve allowed Tink to take her own path with it because I think she is too attached now to just take it from her, I think there is a small window where you can then you have an effort to do it.

IDBI when I was having contractions (the final time) Tink had a feed and the difference was amazing, she was gulping and swallowing and looked milk drunk at the end! All the best for tomorrow, but I guess you won?t read this till later anyway!

Oh Lardy! I feel sick just thinking about it, you poor thing! I hope you are both feeling a little better and that you feel much better soon, you don?t want to be feeling beaten up when you have the baby, however it comes.

Spotty I was just like that when I was in labour with Lily-Hope!
KT it sounds like things could be happening, as long as your waters haven?t broken then it?s fine to have sex.

swampster that Chinese link is interesting, I worked out my three signs and it?s actually not bad and I don?t believe in that sort of thing lol. I know what you mean about the emergency, but it really wasn?t that bad, better than the crash anyway! It wasn?t as rushed as I expected so they had lots of time to talk to me about things, even when they decided they would have to give me a GA they took time to explain what they would do.

MS definitely a show!!! Looks like there might be at least four more babies on their way!

?SJ? hasn?t introduced herself. The cull never happened did it?

spottyshoes · 26/01/2009 04:55

Well this is me well and truely out of the running as C'x have completely stopped now, not even BH's! So managed to get about 3 hrs sleep before DS has decided to have a restless night . So glad I dont have to go to work on top! Can't believe I've been off for a month already - where has it gone? I've got nothing done!!!

Glad the feeding is getting better now Tink

Calico your PIL sound rather ignorant My MIL still brings up the fact I "didn't make her feel welcome" when at 20 wks pg, still with morning sickness & a bad cold, she walked in unannounced as I was trying to serve dinner and not be sick at the same time and was upset that I looked at her spaced out and didn't drop everything and offer her a cup of tea

and Friday 13th's not so bad. DS is a Fri 13th baby and if I need a ELCS this time I will be asking for the same date

GOOD LUCK This morning IDBI. Hope all goes well, will be checking FB

mumoverseas · 26/01/2009 06:04

morning all, how exciting, another baby and at least one more today!
congratulations herby and welcome to little Amy. was reassuring hearing about a positive CS. It reminded me that last time I felt very sick and dizzy for a few minutes (that I've just drunk 2 bottles of red wine feeling) but as soon as I mentioned it the lovely drug man did something which made me much better.

IDBI, good luck to you this morning.

So who is next then?

LittleMissNorty · 26/01/2009 08:16

IDBI.....a bit late I know, but I'm thinking of you and hope all goes ok. This time next week it'll be me, Sawmpster and MsLucy . I've got to be at the hospital for 7.30am!

Sorted out my bedroom yesterday and put the moses basket in there....feels very real now.

I had had NO signs at all that this baby wants to come any earlier....by 38 weeks with DD I'd had a huge show and my waters had broken.....I think I was hoping a bit the same would happen again....the thought of waddling around like this for another week.........although I do have things planned for this week.

Need to get out of the house today...no rain (yet).

Good to hear about your section Herb....makes me feel slightly less nervous....can't wait to see the pics.

MrsY · 26/01/2009 08:43

Morning all - good luck IDBI, will be thinking of you...

littleboyblue · 26/01/2009 08:52

IDBI Hope it all goes nice and smoothly.
Calico shocked at you PIL!
Tink Good that Sian is picking up the feeding. Glad it's all going well.

After a horrid night sat, ds napped for 3.5 hours yesterday afternoon, went to bed a bit late last night at 8:30 and took a while to settle but was still asleep at 8 this morning!
Quite concerned about movement here, but maybe that's because I've spent a large portion of the past 2 days asleep and just missed it all.
Seeing consultant today, so nice long bus journey at nap time, but hopefully ds will sleep in buggy so will at least be in a relative good mood.

LittleMissNorty · 26/01/2009 09:01

LBB.....I'm sure all will be fine at hospital....movement is definitely restricted atm.....my LO is just doing lots of stretching, and tbh, its only when I'm relaxing in front of the tele in the evening (which is for about an hour these days!) that I notice it.

I'm also really looking forward to seeing my NIL next week ....she spends a fair amount of time out in the garden smoking whilst we run around, and then told DH over the phone I wouldn't let her do anything last time . She fusses as well, which gets right up my nose.

LittleMissNorty · 26/01/2009 09:02

MIL

littleboyblue · 26/01/2009 09:07

LMN I am sooooo lucky to not have a MIL!! Dp has a step-mum but her and his dad live in the Midlands so don't see them often. I'm sure they're both lovely and the few occasions I've met them, I've got on rather well (I think!) with them, but so glad it's not an issue!

This is the thing with having 2 boys (nearly) and no girls (dp wants to stop now, thank God) I'm always gonna be the monster-in-law.

laidbackinengland · 26/01/2009 09:12

Good luck IDBI ....Can't wait to hear your news.

Any more babies popping today ?

I couldn't sleep from about 4.30am and feel a bit 'odd' , but no clear labour signs....going back to bed soon once, DS3 goes for a nap.

My PIL are supporting us with this baby by going on a cruise to Antarctica .

dinkystinky · 26/01/2009 09:14

Morning all.

IDBI - best of luck for today.

Tink - sorry to hear you've been having more messing around at the hospital but great that Sian is back on the milk again. Hope all stays well with you and your girls.

LBB - good luck with the consultant today. I think you said you have a sonicaid thing so as long as you're hearing the heartbeats and baby is fine, you'll be ok. Movements have slowed down alot over here too - though the one thing guaranteed to get Squiglet moving is music...

Spotty - sorry all those prelabour pangs came to nothing (in one way that is, not so sorry in that you've not hit 36 weeks yet) - hope you're getting the mother of all sleeps in now with your little boy.

Calico - Grr at your mother in law! Both my mum - and MIL - are the kind who immediately take over with cooking/cleaning etc when they visit which drives me crazy when not pregnant but am very happy to exploit when pregnant (talk about double standards)... next time I advise that you take to your bed for the entire visit and let DH wait on all of you to see what its like Hope you get some rest in today.

On to last week of work before maternity leave now - all v exciting. DS has now inherited the pesky nocturnal cough though so poor thing is absolutely knackered this morning - am really hoping he kicks it mostly by next week or 2 weeks at home with sickly toddler are going to be fun, fun, fun...

littleboyblue · 26/01/2009 09:17

Thanx Dinky.
I called the labour ward the other night because of this mini-cold I seem to be getting and was told to ring them if I started to feel unwell incase infection took over me and I mentioned then that movements were out of pattern and no where near as frequent but said that I was still picking his heart beat up nice and strong and was told tht didn't matter as I don't know what I'm listening for and would I know what a heartbeat in distress would sound like? Dp told me not to bother calling because it'd just make me worse.......

dinkystinky · 26/01/2009 09:33

Well I guess they'll check you out today anyway LBB as part of the consultation so hopefully that will put your mind to rest.

Calico1 · 26/01/2009 09:38

Dinky can I swap your MIL for mine? DH says that I am not 'allowed' to ask them to do anything as they have both been unwell recently which is true, but then DH could have been doing the cooking and cleaning........

DS had bad night last night - I finally got to sleep at 4.30 and had to get up to take DH to station at 7 so I am feeling rubbish. I have booked DS into nursery for an extra day today so that I can have a nap.....worth the extra £40 I think!

Good luck IDBI!

Spotty - my dad was also born on a Fri 13th (seventy years ago) but he still blames any bad luck he has on his birth date!

McDreamy · 26/01/2009 09:39

Calico - glad you have an appointment - hope they come up with the goods this time. I have to say I didn't really get offered a choice of dates. In fact the Dr came in and said "you're booked in for a section on..." but once I explained that I really really would like to be home by 14th (or happy to have section after 14th) they didn't take alot of persuasion to change it. They didn't want me to leave it longer so registrar agreed to deliver me a couple of days earlier.

Having a nightmare this morning! The men have turned up to do the kitchen floor but instead of being able to walk on the floor after 2 hours as previously said I can't go in the kitchen for 24 hours I am NOT prepared for this at all, have just finished rushing round like a loon grabbing microwave, kettle, cups, juice! Fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier all scattered around hall/playroom. DS and I are sat in the lounge wondering what on earth we are going to do with ourselves today!

DH is going away tomorrow before they will have finshed laying the floor so I have no one to help me move all the stuff back. All I need now is to go into labour arrrggghhhhh!!!

Hope everyone is having a calmer day

herbgarden · 26/01/2009 09:41

I think I might have managed to upload a photo.....

McDreamy · 26/01/2009 09:43

Herb she is beautiful!

MrsY · 26/01/2009 09:44

lbb - that's nice! surely if the rhythm's fine, and the heartbeat is not massively slower or quicker than normal, it's a sign of no distress?

And to put your mind at rest, my MIL can be a PITA and is as mad as cheese, but really lovely and has been so supportive. As my mum works full time and John's mum works from home on very part time hours, she's been the one running me into the DAU most days, and on Saturday, when she picked me up from hospital, spent an hour sweeping the paths in the garden and pruning the bushes to make it easier for me to get to and from the car.

She's so looking forward to having a granddaughter (although she's still convinced she's a boy), as she had two boys, and I think genuinely sees John's brother's girlfriend and myself as her daughters.

LittleMissNorty · 26/01/2009 09:51

Ahh MrsY that's lovely .....luckily my MIL lives 120 miles away and doesn't drive.

Awwww Herb....she is gorgeous ....hope you're getting some sleep and all is ok

Calico1 · 26/01/2009 09:58

Lovely photo Herb......what a cutie!

McDreamy - sorry to hear about your floor fiasco.....nice of them to let you know. At least the sun is shining you could go for a walk (waddle) with DS?
