Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
McDreamy · 26/01/2009 10:02

Yes true it's a lovely day! We have to go out, can't stay in here, it will make me go mad! Have just managed to push the bookcase over so I can squeeze between that and the fridge to get to the front door

swampster · 26/01/2009 10:07

Herb, she's lovely!

rosieposey · 26/01/2009 10:09

Morning all

Herb what a gorgeous bubs you have there, soooo jealous! I just cant wait now. IDBI thinking of you this morning and looking forward to hearing your news.

Tink glad things seem to be looking up for Sian.

Dinky your on the home stretch now - nearly time to put your feet up!

LLB am sure lo is fine, the movements i get are less frequent now but very strong and pokey Im going to send back my hired doppler at the end of this week as ive had it since about 10 weeks and its been a godsend. I still use it now on occasion when hes been very quiet but i think its time it went back.

dinkystinky · 26/01/2009 10:29

Herbgarden - Amy is lovely!

McDreamy - definitely go out today and stay out. Can the men laying the floors not help you by moving stuff back into place (or at least some of it) - try playing the heavily pregnant lady card on them or threatening to go into labour on the person who arranged for the floor to be relaid now....

Calico - am sure my MIL wouldnt mind being hired out

littleboyblue · 26/01/2009 11:27

McD Sounds very hectic, don't envy you! Could be worse, 24 hrs not too bad, my friend had it for 6 weeks! She was having her kitchen re-fitted by council so was slightly more prepared but it took than expected because they put the cupboards up wonky and caused a leak in the pipe under the sink which they buggered off without fixing

herb she is absolutely lovely. You must all be so proud, well done

MrsY That's what I was thinking on the heartbeat front, I listen in often enough to be able to tell if there is a major difference in pace? Anyway.....
Your MIL sounds lovely!

I've just done all the hoovering and mopping, can start getting flat into bit of order now dp is back on days.

KT1983 · 26/01/2009 11:43

Congratulations Herb - Little Amy is lovely

Sorry its late but Hope all goes/or is going well for you IDBI xx

No news from me, no more BH, no more anything!
Feeling very heavy & low and generally pregnancy crampy - but nothing to indicate an early arrival.
Am 38 weeks today, so officially fed up now & want to meet this little girl

We see the consultant again tomorrow for another scan to check her size, they said at 36week appointment that they still might induce early, if she is still small, but im 99% sure she is still growing well, as my tummy is now catching up with the pregnancy IYKWIM.

So far this morning, ive cleaned the whole house from top to botom & been for a nice long swim, now I think I may go back to bed with some Raspberyy Leaf tea & a ten ton of pineapple

PinkTulips · 26/01/2009 11:48

morning all

herbie, she's utterly gorgeous! how did last night go?

good luck idbi... although you've probably had your lo at this stage as i'm a bit late posting

good luck to pempe too

lbb... your hospital never ceases to amaze me don't let them worry you and hope things are a bit better at your appointemt today.

had a horrible night awake all night with heartburn and i'm shattered again now, seriously considering not bringing dd to playschool anymore until kung fu panda makes an appearance as evewryone down there is driving me mad with all the 'are you still pregnant/ not long now/ are you having twinges/ ooooo, thought you'd had that baby when you weren't here yesterday/were 10 mins late'

i'm not even due yet ffs and they're acting like i've gone a month over... was handed a note announcing a commitee meeting tomorrow with the words 'but sure you probably won't be about for that'

Pempe · 26/01/2009 11:57

Herb your baby is beautiful, I showed my DH and he got all clucky.

I have just got back from the doctors and am fed-up. Having been told by my doctor at the last appointment that they would perform a CS this week, he has changed his mind and told me I have to wait until 39 weeks (7th Feb). He had a good, painful rummage and told me the baby's head was waaaaay up, stuck on my pelvic bone and my cervix closed, so even if I wanted a natural birth, aint gonna happen any time soon.

I know that I am still officially over 2 weeks away from my due date but have been psyching myself up for this week and got very upset about the news. He was mean too which didn't help, and made me cry. I am miserably uncomfortable. my fanjo hurts.

Come on baby, surprise me, wiggle your head a bit, get rid of that pesky cord and make an appearance!!!

Hope you are all having a good day

LittleMissNorty · 26/01/2009 12:17

Oh poor you Pempe....talk about having the carpet snatched from underneath your feet. .....think I would have cried as well.

So is it 5 hour drive home and back again next week?

mumoverseas · 26/01/2009 12:17

afternoon all,
herb she is GORGEOUS. I am so jealous and am really wanting another girl now DH and I were convinced until our 22 week scan we were having another girl and were completely stunned to hear its a boy. Have to keep getting out all his little blue things to remind myself. Can't wait til we meet him though now.

McD, what a pain regarding the floor. How can they expect you to not use your kitchen for 24 hours, that is mad. When we had ours done we were able to walk on it afterwards.

Pempe, what a pain about your CS. Once you get fixed on a date you start counting down and it must be awful to then have it put back. Everyone I see on our compound laughs at me when they see me as most of them are fully involved in the countdown and I regularly have 16 days, 15 days, 14 days etc shouted at me as I waddle around. In fact its only 13 days now!

So come on, who is next? Has someone beaten IDBI to it?

dinkystinky · 26/01/2009 12:20

Pempe - sorry you had a disappointing appointment but look on the brightside - you have a long stop date of 7 February (bear in mind there are probably plenty of us who are probably destined to go the whole 42 weeks plus some, so 2 weeks max to wait hopefully wont be too bad).
I hope the little one does decide to surprise you - and your mean consultant - by making an earlier appearance for you though. Try and enjoy the 2 extra weeks you have by doing nice things for you which you wont get time to do when baby is here - cinema, meals out, hair cut, pedicure, massages, you name it...

KT - reading your posts makes me tired; slow down lady or your body is never going to take the hint that its time to get rid of that little passenger

Pinktulips - sorry you're surrounded by village idiots again. If is any consolation everyone I see (including absolute strangers in the lift) keep telling me I'm ready to pop and asking how overdue I am - which I'm not yet!

MamaGoose · 26/01/2009 12:42

Sharing your frustration pinktulips. Every day I drop the boys at school I get the same "haven't you had it yet/you still here then/when is it coming then" comments. I wish I knew!! Only 5 days off my due date. Oh god it's going to be late....

onwardandupward · 26/01/2009 12:49

The one that really gets me is

"how are the twins?". Said to me, without fail, by the same two twats every time I bump into one or other of them at work. And every single time I say "there's still only the one in there" with a cheerful smile and walk on mentally punching them in the gob.

gives self a shake to calm down

Neeerly3 · 26/01/2009 13:13

is anyone in a great deal of discomfort with 4 weeks still to go? I cannot seperate my legs and am walking almost with my knees together. Midwife said baby wasn't engaged last weds, but I beg to differ! it HURTS! it's not just uncomfy, it brings tears to my eyes.....

mumoverseas · 26/01/2009 13:39

sounds like SPD neeerly as its exactly the same with me. Its a nightmare isn't it? I find warm baths in the evening (or whenever I can!) help and my consultant recommended taking paracetamol every 6 hours. I'm only 35 weeks and have had it since around 24 weeks although its only got really unbearable the last month or so. Thank god I'm having an early CS in 13 days. On the positive, if it is SPD then it should go as soon as LO arrives.
Try to rest as much as you can neeerly although I know easier said than done x

Neeerly3 · 26/01/2009 14:21

finish work on thursday, so will rest in ernest then! i worry that this hurts so much I won't know when labour is starting! Maybe labour will be a relief after weeks of this!

Neeerly3 · 26/01/2009 14:23

and the wine!

dinkystinky · 26/01/2009 14:29

Oh Neerly, that does sound like SPD. Poor you. Speak to your midwife to see if she has any recommendations (probably too late to get a physio referral but she might be able to get you a support band) re stances. Apparently you need to try to keep your movements small and parallel (so avoid sitting cross legged etc.) which might help. Keep your mind on the fact that the end is firmly in sight!

Neeerly3 · 26/01/2009 14:50

thanks all, am sitting firmly in parallel now and eating chocolate! let me scroll back through thread and see who else has produced offspring while i have been wallowing in self pity!

mslucyisbeached · 26/01/2009 14:52

Just seen your pic herbgarden, what a beautiful little girl

Hope everyone is OK - sorry to hear some of you are in pain with the dreaded SPD.

I am currently in the midst of a terrifying hormonal surge, which has turned me into a demented Stepford wife like figure

In the last 24 hours

defrosted the freezer
done numerous loads of washing
packed my hospital bag
reorganized all ds's clothes to make way for the new baby
ordered lots of tesco shopping online

It's official - I am finally nesting

PinkTulips · 26/01/2009 14:58

most of us have been too busy wallowing in self pity ourselves to get around to popping out babies

stupid nesting..... had mad urge to clean the car as it's the first day dry enough to bring the hoover out there in ages..... crippled now to the point of not being able to walk

dinkymum · 26/01/2009 14:58

Hi guys just thought i'd pop back with my birth story so here goes!...

Sunday morning fast asleep was woken up by my waters breaking (Originally thought was maybe spontaneously wetting myself or something ) jumped up and rushed to the toilet and quickly realised what was happening.
Calmly woke DH to tell him who said to go back to bed and try to sleep!!? My little girl was asleep in bed and the night before had been really poorly! so that was extra worrying. Phoned the hospital who said to go in for assesment and if it was my waters I wouldnt be going home again! So called my friend who took us to the hospital and then took my little girl to her house until my mum could get there later that afternoon.
They monitored the baby and said he was very happy in there and confirmed it was my waters and from there was taken up to the ward.
I found the staying in bit really hard especially the first night without my baby and I was really missing my DD.
Next morning was taken to labour suite and my cervix wasn't really doing anything so they used the pessary which kind of made me crampy but didnt really seem to do anything, they kept monitoring baby and said he was very happy in there, perhaps too happy! lol
So come 5pm was re examined and was 3cm but nothing really happening still. So they put me on the drip and said they'd start it gradually see how I go and I quickly started with contractions that my really lovely midwife seemed to think was more from her examination than the drip.
She sadly had to finish but said she thought that I would have the baby by midnight and was sad she wasn't going to be delivering him. She was really really nice.
well after that things all moved pretty fast, one minute i'm thinking i'm going to have to ask for some pain relief in a minute to the next contraction saying I really need it now! then thinking I think im feeling some pressure down there but wasnt sure I trusted it or if it was the drip. by the next contraction i'm thinking ut-oh and the next (which wasn't long) I was about to say to DH (who o'd been telling I thought I could feel pressure and was being very calm- maybe too calm!) if he didnt fetch midwife back he was going to be deliverig the baby, when she walked back in. She said ooh are you going to be a fast worker and went to examine me but could already see his head! few pushes later and two contractions and baby Isaac Christopher was here!
He weighed 5llb 8 oz and is beautiful very loved up with him. we had to stay in until the thursday which I found really hard and was very pleased to be home! he's doing really well he went down to 5llb 2oz but was weighed on saturday 3 days later and was 5llb 5oz and they're coming back tomorrow, he's a little jaundice but thats looking better I think and we're really loved up.
DD is finding it a bit hard, she seems to like Isaac but is unsettled, she's back at nursery today so hopefully the return of her old routine will help!

sorry i've rattled on hope I havent bored you! I will try and post some pictures when I figure out how!

Big hugs xxx
(need to think of a new name! lol)

PinkTulips · 26/01/2009 15:02

sorry about the awful hospital visit pempe..... that consultant sounds hideous..... what in the name of god are they giving you internals for anyway

it could be worse though, keep in mind some here could be having babies halfway into march my ds was almost 2 months old by the time the last lady on my AN thread popped!

dinkystinky · 26/01/2009 15:23

I was the last but one to pop from my NCT group (and only narrowly beat the last one by about 8 hours!) - my DS ended up more than a month younger than the oldest baby in the group! That said, he was the tallest and chunkiest out of all the babies who were born though (and quite clearly the laziest)

Neerly - glad you're on the chocolate prescription, am sure you'll be feeling much better soon

MsLucy - get you and your crazy nesting!
