congrats herbgarden, that's wonderful news.
can't wait to see the pics.

rosieposey · 25/01/2009 18:31

Aw Herb thats fab news Yay! congratulations and welcome to baby Amy, awwww sooo pleased for you. Hooray! another Fab Feb bubs

littleboyblue · 25/01/2009 18:34

Congratulations Herb, and welcome to Amy.
Sounds like there may be a few more arrivals in the next few days too!
Not much going on here, finding it dificult to sit down and getting a few painful cramps but seems pretty random. I'm still a bit concerned about movement but at hospital tomoz anyway.
It feels like something is about to fall out, come on plug!!
Now that bump has dropped, I thought heart burn was supposed to ease off?

Questionkid · 25/01/2009 18:36

Congratulations herby! How exciting! I'm so excited at the rate the babies are coming now. I've probably just jinxed it and there'll be none for ages now...

I've got lower back ache today but as far as I'm concerned it's just because I'm so effing huge and my back isn't coping with the load. It would be too much to hope that this baby would come early, I don't have good luck like that.

Any my SPD is so bad that the thought of labour-inducing sex practically makes me want to cry.

What's the form in terms of presents around birth time? My DH is currently researching presents for me (he's no good at keeping secrets, he just can't help giving me a running commentary on how the research is going, seemingly completely forgetting that the present is for me. Bless.) and it occurred to me the other day, should I be getting something for him?

littleboyblue · 25/01/2009 18:37

QK You're already giving him something

dinkystinky · 25/01/2009 18:47

Ah Herbgarden - was wondering where you were Huge congratulations on the arrival of Amy (I remember you were worried about getting to 2nd Feb as you'd gone early with your DS werent you - turned out Amy is another early arriver too...) - lovely names and hope she's being a little angel baby for you. Glad you managed to get some you time and some trips in to the cinema before Amy arrived too Hope you recover well at home.

QK - not obligatory to get present for DH (as you are the one who has been doing all the hard work for the past 9 months etc) but I got DH a nice photoframe which we put an early picture of DS in within the first week and then after a couple of months got him a relaxing massage (had been a pretty nasty couple of months with his dad dying etc and thought he'd appreciate knowing how much he was appreciated by his little family).

herbgarden · 25/01/2009 18:58

Right am back now - have fed her, winded her and put her down in a peaceful quiet and dark environment so that at least she can get some rest. Poor thing it is so damn noisy on those wards that she just wanted to sleep and no-one was letting her (or me) - one one goes they all go....

Went in on Friday as it was clear my waters had broken and they then confirmed it. Wasn't sure of timing but before we knew it I was stockinged up and DH was putting his scrubs on an off we went. For all of us worrying about our sections last week - none of it was painful even going in stone cold sober (it's now I'm sore) and everyone was absolutely lovely and made it calm and upbeat (the drugs man was a youngish guy who'd had his own first baby on NYE and was def the person you wanted to have holding your hand so to speak ) -mthe only thing I had a problem with was my blood pressure dropping during the op so that I felt faint and sick but as soon as you tell the drugs man he gives you more drugs to take it away. I then was really really spaced out afterwards and just wanted to sleep and sleep and also still quite sick (injection didn't help too much either). Amy too has just wanted to sleep and sleep ! we've not seen much of her eyes but she's quite little and 3 weeks early so I expect the fun and games to start soon !

Last night was hideous on the ward - the woman next to me a pain in the arse - and I got about 3 hours sleep. At that point I so wanted to be home so when they suggested that I could come home today I jumped at the chance......

Hope everyone else ok and will try to catch up on your news tomorrow.....

littleboyblue · 25/01/2009 19:03

Glad you're both doing well and was able to get home so quick. I hated being in after ds was born, it's notlike you can actually recover is it?
Soundsa like your cs was nice and smooth though so that's good.

PinkTulips · 25/01/2009 19:24

herb, sounds like the hospital where i had my 2 in terms of noise leval.... didn't sleep a wink after either of them and dd was kept up all night too (ds on the other hand entered some sort of coma for 12 hours after he was born and refused to wake up no matter how much i prodded him )

neither of mine opened their eyes much for the first few days either, think some babies are just lazy like that!

glad the cs went so smoothly, sounds like quite a nice experiance when you describe it like that!

go get some sleep now while amy is out for the count... remember the sleepyness doesn't last with newborns.... i wasted it with both mine, won't be making that mistake again!

herbgarden · 25/01/2009 19:39

Don't worry, she's going at it full throttle now - that didn't last long !......God I forgot what it was like. DS has stayed at Granny's tonight as I wasn't expecting to be home. Am really worried about how he'll be if and when she cries.....I suspect that for the first 12 weeks or so she might have to be downstairs with us so she doesn't disturb him and we're all happy !

oooggs · 25/01/2009 19:42

huge congrats to dinkymum & herby and welcome

thankyou for all your lovely coments on my photos - can't wait to hear of more babies joining us

dinkystinky · 25/01/2009 19:48

Herb - she'll calm down as is v unsettling going from crazy mad noisy ward to a new quiet place - DS was the same and the postnatal ward we were on was HELL on earth (exacerbated by the fact they were moving the ward when DS was born so we had workmen in drilling and moving stuff around us as well - makes my blood boil just thinking about it still). DS was miles better the following night.

MrsY · 25/01/2009 20:11

YAY! Congrats to herby and welcome to baby Amy - such a lovely name. Looking forward to seeing some pics!

Shit - it's all kicking off in't it?

Who's next, I wonder?

swampster · 25/01/2009 20:21

Yay herb! Sounds like you had a lovely section. Welcome, wee Amy.

McDreamy · 25/01/2009 20:27

Congratultions Herby and welcome baby Amy, lovely name (it's on our girls list too!!). Glad you're home now, I couldn't wait to get out of hospital after my 2. Noisy, boring, just wanted to be home.

Wonder who's next?!? Hope it's not me just yet, DH is away overnight this Tues and next Weds - hope you have the hot towels ready ladies just in case.

nkweto · 25/01/2009 20:43

Congratulations Herbgarden, welcome little Amy !!

(((((((Lardy)))))) hope you are all feeling better, it really could have happened to any of us..

anyone getting shooting pains in their groin area ? been brought to the ground several times today with quite an intense pain..but i dont think they are contractions..the Braxton Hicks are still painless and on my stomach area

dinkystinky · 25/01/2009 21:08

Yup Nkweto - get those delightful crotch zingers all the time... lovely arent they...

spottyshoes · 25/01/2009 21:17

Congratulations Herb and welcome to little Amy - awwww bet she's a gorgeous little thing

Well my l.o took O&U literally and has now decided to stay put as we have our 2 for the thread. So I dont think i'll be next which i'm not too sad about as I'm not quite 36 weeks yet!

I'm going to bed now as haven't had a proper sleep since Thursday night Good luck to everyone else who've had signs over the last few days, hope it's happening for you. x

Calico1 · 25/01/2009 21:24

Well done Dinkymum and Herby! Yay - it's all happening now, how exciting......wonder who's next!!!!!!

Lardy - poor you and your DD. Hope you both feel better today. x

Nothing going on here except feeling the 'practicing breathing' thing and baby hiccups which are super cute.

Had PIL here all weekend - they put their feet up whilst I did the cooking, and clearing up afterwards. At one point I was stirring the dinner whilst holding a whining one year old under my arm - they and DH were lounging about chatting and sipping chilled wine in front of the fire......
My blood was boiling by the end of it. MIL had the gall to say (as she left) that I was looking a bit peaky and should try to take it easy......gggrrrrrrhhhh

MarkStretch · 25/01/2009 21:34

Awwwwww I turn the laptop off for a few hours and we have another baby!

Congrats herb! Am thrilled for you and can't believe you're home already! Must feel good to be back.

nkweto · 25/01/2009 21:35

Dinky ... they really are something.. a few tears have been shed today.. how will i do labour

katieblirdsnest · 25/01/2009 21:40

Congratulations on the new arrivals.

Sorry to be a PITA latecomer but can anyone direct me to the Facebook group that's been mentioned?

McDreamy · 25/01/2009 21:43

awww Calico that's bloody awful! I have to say my PILhave been fab this weekend and taken the Dcs overnight - wierd this morning to wake up without them but lovely!

What's the plan regarding your potential CS?

Calico1 · 25/01/2009 22:14

McDreamy - lucky you! My mum has offered to take DS next weekend which will be great and he loves it there so I don't even feel guilty about letting him go for a night or two. Apparently last time he went (which was the first time he had been away from us) he didn't mention me once......not sure if I should be happy or sad about that!

I have appointment on the 5th at Stoke to 'discuss' CS and hopefully get a date as it is getting a bit last minute now. I am hoping that it won't be Fri 13th.....but I think you said you had a choice of dates?

MamaGoose · 25/01/2009 22:19

Congratulations herbgarden! Wow.

Had a false start last night. I really thought it was happening but contractions never settled into a regular pattern. I managed to go to sleep and got woken up by contractions a few times but then woke up this morning and nothing. Baby v v quiet all day (but fine as doctor checked heartbeat)! Doctor has now dropped off kit and birthing pool though which is good. Bet I'll be late now! Grrr.
