Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
McDreamy · 25/01/2009 15:16

Ooooh MS sounds like a show to me, could be another one on it's way.

Nothing as excting going on here. Being spoilt at my PIL's. Lovely Sunday roast and now the children have been taken out for a long (wet) walk while I sit here with my feet up.

Having new flooring put into our kitchen and downstairs loo tomorrow. PITA. House was empty from July to Nov, then we moved in, have unpacked and NOW they tell us about the new floor - great timing. Poor DH has to find someone to help him move our fridge (american style) tonight, doors need to be removed first Living in married quarters can be a pain sometimes. Anyway this time in 48 hours I should have a very nice new floor

swampster · 25/01/2009 15:35

Eeeeek! No jelly-plugs here, but I'm trying to ignore what feels a bit more serious than BHs... I'm under orders to go straight in if anything happens but I am not ready!!!

And I will be well pissed off if I have to have another emergency CS when I'm all geared up for a nice, calm, elective...

C'mon, is Stretchy-baby here yet???

MarkStretch · 25/01/2009 16:01

Oh my goodness there are tightenings all over the place!

No more jelly or BH here, just had a nap on the sofa and woke up feeling worse than I did when I went to sleep.

Swampy- what are you going to do? Go in?

MarkStretch · 25/01/2009 16:05

MrsY- dd had a great day yesterday and her Dad came to her Irish Dancing lesson this morning with us before we dropped him off at the airport.

I was glad he made the effort to come over and see her and I think she will go and stay with him at Easter.

Neeerly3 · 25/01/2009 16:08

just bought first baby purchases, gone all gooey!

I'm on a roll now! can believe you are all starting to produce babies already! It's still january! Getting very uncomfy now and still got 4 weeks to go - finish work on Thursday, and so starts my proper lazy arse 3 weeks. Went for my pamper day on Friday - totally wonderful. Spent all day sitting/lying/swimming/reading and did not hear ONE "mummy what you doing?" "mummy can you do this for me" "mummy, can I help?"

oh blardy 'ell!

in green ooops

dinkystinky · 25/01/2009 16:10

Ooh, Swampy - try a bath to chase off those possible Braxton Hicks.... hope is just BH and you get your nice calm elective.

MS - sounds like may be plug coming away bit by bit - all progress in the right direction...
Maybe some more bonkage will dislodge more.

KT - those tightenings could be pre-labour contractions (body warming up for the real thing); just try and take it easy.

Any news from Spotty anyone?

McDreamy - sorry to hear about the flooring fiasco; still at least you're getting all of the upheaval well in advance of the little one arriving...

dinkystinky · 25/01/2009 16:12

Aaah Neerly, they're so cute!

swampster · 25/01/2009 16:27

Yup, did the bath and it seems to have done the trick. When I had DS2 I had one regular contraction every half-hour or so for about a week before my waters broke... Then they carried on like that for the next 24+ hours until I my CS but I was more than two weeks late by then...

Too cutm Neeerly, you'll kick off my contractions if I look at too much stuff like that!

swampster · 25/01/2009 16:31

cute, even - DOH!

thehouseofmirth · 25/01/2009 16:33

MS hope that was the beginning of something but seem to remember with DS the clear bit of the plug came out weeeeeeeeeeeeeeks before he did - though he was a first baby.

Went for brisk walk on Wimbledon Common this afternoon and these period pain things have now come back but I can't imagine they're actually doing anything.

Why are there no RULES about labour?! It's so annoying that we can all have this range of signs and symptoms but can't draw any conclusions about what any of them mean. So frustrating! Id idn't care about any f this when I was expecting DS. I knew I'd probably go overdue and was quite happy to watch crap TV, have leisurely lunches and be generally serene. Now I'm getting so worked up about when it's going to happen and what we'll do with DS I'm almost wishing I'd booked that CS afterall!

dinkystinky · 25/01/2009 16:48

THOM - they'll be doing something (if nothing else, warming up your body for the real thing); I had 2 weeks of "early labour" tightenings when I went overdue with DS which got me to 2cm pre-induction... kind of wonder sometimes if I hadnt been induced how long it would have taken DS to come out - probably sometime around the 48th week....

swampster · 25/01/2009 16:54

48 weeks I think that's me too.

rosieposey · 25/01/2009 16:58

Blimey you lot are contracting all over the shop! Have had a couple of little periody pains myself today but nothing amounting to anything exciting

Ohhh neeerly3! gorgeous baby pj's

Think i am going to have a bath ( although ours is especially deep so dont fancy my chances for getting out of it lol and take a nice book in.

MS that sounds exciting, i never had the plug go naturally as was always induced and it generally went after the first pessary - maybe things really are starting to happen for you,i guess i should not be moaning about the amount we sleep i suppose as twill only be a matter of time before its reduced to zilch!

Hope you are all having a nice Sunday ( bar uncomfy pains )

PinkTulips · 25/01/2009 17:07

typed a huge message and pc ate it

have to go do dinner now but good luck to those that are having interesting things happen!

cramps have eased down here thank to dp and the kids letting me an exxtremely lazy day... feeling less sore and more relaxed though so not pushed.

herbgarden · 25/01/2009 17:46

Helloooo.
Anyone notice I was missing ??!!
Waters broke on Friday morning so went in and they did my c-section.
I'm home (just) and earlier but had to get out of that place....Anyway, Amy Hannah was born at 3.12pm on Friday and weighed 5lbs 14oz. A lovely surprise to have a little sister for my ds....
Will catch up properly tomorrow but am sore and it's all a bit surreal tbh.

LittleMissNorty · 25/01/2009 17:48

Ah WOW - congratulations Herb

LittleMissNorty · 25/01/2009 17:50

Blimey....we were same due date and same CS date.....getting real now!

Pempe · 25/01/2009 17:50

congratulations herbgarden!!!!!! And a lovely lovely name. Lots of love to you and your family

PinkTulips · 25/01/2009 17:58

fuck... i just cried reading that

congratulations herbie and well done both of you. don't blame you one bit for getting yourselves home asap, can't stand hospitals either and firmly believe you heal better once you're home.

take care of yourself after the cs though, and enjoy these first few days.... the surreal part is the best part of parenthood imo

thehouseofmirth · 25/01/2009 18:00

Congratulations Herbgarden and welcome Amy!

Gosh it's all go now, isn't it?!

thehouseofmirth · 25/01/2009 18:02

Pempe thought you were supposed to be in Athens?

Pempe · 25/01/2009 18:08

i am in athens, just got here. Off to the hospital tomorrow to find out about the CS. Staying with my DH's lovely nieces who are at uni here

onwardandupward · 25/01/2009 18:16
