Astarte · 03/02/2009 10:02

very tired, not getting much sleep. I do not do very well on lack of sleep, it should be said.

Mother coming to visit this afternoon to 'help out'

Nothing going on otherwise, no snow.

Hired a carpet cleaner yesterday and did ds's room and stairs (only carpets in the house).
Dh came in and within 1 hour the carpet in the boys room had mud on it from Dh ,

I have to ring the m/w today to check what I'm supposed to do if I go into labour (part from birth a baby) as I can't remember who to ring, when.

I can't be arsed tbh.

kayzr · 03/02/2009 10:11

I can't be arsed today either Astarte. I think I would have killed DH if he got mud on a newly cleaned carpet.

I do need to go out today though. We need some shopping and some dog food. I have written a list but I am sure I am missing something.

Astarte · 03/02/2009 10:19

A list.....christ that reminds me Kayz, thanks, I still haven't written my birth plan!

Have you got your dog, or are you getting it? I'm really sorry I've a memory like a sieve atm.

GruffaloSoldier · 03/02/2009 10:20

Morning all

Still loads of snow here and started snowing again.Dh's school is closed so he has another snow day. Im not due to start work til 12 so waiting to hear from my boss if I can get in (the village I work in was completely cut off yesterday) I really hope I can stay home again as DH is!

LB - good luck for results on Thursday, hopefully nothing sinister.

kayzr · 03/02/2009 10:42

She is coming on saturday!! We are so excited it is unbelievable. DS1 shouts "Puppy" or "Pixie" at every dog he sees, even my mums 2 dogs that he knows the name off.

kayzr · 03/02/2009 10:43

That is terrible. I mean knows the names of.

My typing has completely gone to pot recently.

LaTourEiffel · 03/02/2009 11:02

Morning all....

Feeling decidedly unpregnant today, except for the fact I need a wee but I've had three cups of tea (decaf natch) and a hot chocolate and an apple juice so its hardly surprising.

Other than that, nothing, no soreness, no nausea no nothing, a few mildly painful twinges.

I keep reciting its all normal, its all normal, its all normal and it means nothing but I still can't believe it and don't think I really will until quite a lot further on.

lardybump · 03/02/2009 11:03

I am fed up as well today... Does anyone fancy changing dd's poo filled nappy for me... Snow is melting thick and fast here. Beautiful sunny day today although there is still white to be seen in the garden...

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 03/02/2009 11:08

morning all- not got time to catch up properly now, got to pop to the shops quick before getting DS from nursery!!

LaTour- Congrats!!! You deserve that BFP!!!

My sickness has returned with a vengence over the last week- its awful!! I've brought up breakfast for the last 4 days and feeling sick most of the day!!

Was having lots of very strong BH's on sunday evening- DH wanted me to go to hospital to be checked but it died down around 1am!! Been having them on and off since really painful, and strong- almost as bad as my labour contractions with DD's labour!!

Right best get off- can't have my sandwich without tomatoes and i've ran out!!

Will see if i can get back on later, but can't promise with sickness and tiredness!!

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 03/02/2009 11:24

Well DH and I have just braved it to the shop round the corner and back. It took us about 45 minutes!!! Then they'd run out of bread, no fruit and no veg (fresh or frozen)
I may have to survive on a diet of tinned soup and junk food for the day (What's new there then??!)

Glask - boo for the sickness and BH

Kay - great news about the puppy!!

Gruff - hope you get a "snow day" from work

LB - starting to melt here too but still no sign of grass or pavement!

LaTour - my moments of thinking my pg is all in my head gradually got less frequent but they still happen. In fact last night I was lying in bed thinking about my overactive imagination and getting worried. These first weeks are the most difficult though but you've got the entire wagon on your side (what more could you want??!! )

lastboxoftampons · 03/02/2009 11:26

Hello all

Latour It IS perfectly normal! Please don't worry. I'm nearly 16 weeks and I still don't feel pregnant. It's early for nausea, it doesn't kick in until about 6 weeks for most people.

Snow is melting here too, except for flurries this morning. This is the most snow I've seen since I've been in London (5 years) and I have to say, I'm appalled at the complete lack of maintenance! I know the city does not have the infrastructure to deal with heavy snowfall, but how hard is it to put down some salt on the sidewalks? They're treacherous! I nearly fell about 5 times walking to and from the stations on my way to work this morning and I was totally wearing snow-appropriate shoes!

anyway, enough of my rant!

Diege Love the name! And for what it's worth, another Noah fan here!

Astarte I would be so at DH for tracking mud into the house. As anal as mine is, he'll do the same sometimes after I've washed the floor - I used to have to scrub our old kitchen floor on my hands and knees because it was awful, old and so scratched up and it would really hold onto dirt - it makes my blood boil!

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 03/02/2009 11:29

Hello LBOT!!

Nearly 16 weeks??!! Where did that go??!

lastboxoftampons · 03/02/2009 11:35

Ses, I KNOW! I'll be 16 weeks on Friday. Definitely starting to show a bit now and thinking I will come out to all and sundry this week. Most people know - friends and family and immediate colleagues at work, but I think I'm just going to post on facebook and be done with it.

How are you feeling?

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 03/02/2009 11:41

Feeling fine thanks
The worry never completely goes (sorry). You just get other things to worry about like "Am I feeling enough movements?" "Am I getting too big?" "Am I big enough?" "Is that definitely movements I'm feeling?" "What if there's something wrong that no one's spotted?"...

You get the idea??!!
Anyone would think I was a born worrier??!
Actually though, I'm enjoying the 2nd trimester without so much tiredness and sickness.

I think you'd be fine to make your pg more public now. I did put something on FB which was when a lot of people picked up on our news but I still have people at work and at church coming up to me exclaiming they had no idea and "where did that bump suddenly come from?"!!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 03/02/2009 11:52

Morning all

16wks wow LBOT, thats going fast

Latour- glad you are feeling ok at the moment even if I'm sure you'd love some nausea Remember this stage for when you are feeling green in a couple of weeks. Still really excited for you

Glask- sorry for ongoing sickness- must be doing your head in. Must also be hard work being sick with a large bump! Hope it improves for you soon

Ses- your dogs are gorgeous... looks like they enjoyed the snow too My cat keeps going outside, then remembering that the white stuff is cold and wet and then coming back in looking annoyed... most amusing.

Diege- love the name- really good combination

Astarte- very impressed that you are carpet cleaning at 39wks!! I need a lot of persuading to even look at the hoover at the moment...

Hi LB, Tink and everyone else who I've forgotten!

Kayz- hurry for for your puppy coming on saturday. Are you all prepared

My MW just came and did a home visit due to snow, which is great as the snow is still a foot deep. Apparently head is starting to engage now and everything else seems normal. Got to decide where to give birth now... HWB or hosp... am erring towards hosp at the moment but not really sure why. Maybe I just want to make use of the bags I've back and unpacked about 10times!

Snow melting here but also still coming down- all very odd.

Phew, mega post!

Diege · 03/02/2009 11:53

LOL SES I am exactly the same. Was worried I am too big yesterday (cue, googling polyhydramnosis), then this morning worried about being too small (cue googling IUGR). Glad it's not just me! At least I have been able to put the scan 'worries' behind me (for now at least) - for a time I was worrying about worrying about the pregnancy and it spoiling my last one!
LBOX, agree, your pregnancy is speeding by! Meant to say that I almost popped in to see you when I was in London (stalker alert) but then thought I can hardly go in and ask for 'Lastboxoftampax' without someone (probably you!) calling security...
Bad news about sickness GLASK, although I have read it can return towards the end. What bad luck that would be . Have you still got a stash of meds to hand?
KAYZ,very exciting about the puppy - almost as good as waiting for baby, and a lot less painful
GRUFF, fingers crossed the snow keeps up for you
LB, def pass on pooey nappy thanks - dd3 is a feat or famine poo-er and does nothign for a week then 3 a day , so have my quota already.
Must get on. Feeling very lazy today, but have all that marking to do. Carrot of bugaboo doesn't seem to be doing much today...Must go out too soon as run out of grapefriut juice. Still can't awallow 'still' water without gagging, so have only been drinking juice mixed with sparkling water - not good with all that sugar I know!

Diege · 03/02/2009 11:54

Hello GYO!!! Head engaging sounds good! You must be very exicited

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 03/02/2009 11:55

Ses/ LBOT, there are still people I've not told kind of bad when I meet them now as Im clearly heavily pregnant!

Keep thinking of people that need to be told!

There are loads of people of work that I never told. Just let them work it out for themselves when they saw the bump!

Starshinetiger · 03/02/2009 12:01

Morning all. Still snow here, but keeps varying between heavy snowfalls and (currently) sunshine breaking through. Still roads were fine to get to work today.

Kayz - so cute re. DS1 just getting on with playing this morning!

Diege - love the name. Have always liked Ben (my best friend at age 5 was Ben), but had not so good associations for DH, so we didn't use it.

Very tired and only just surviving today - DS conjunctivitis turned into fever and sickness overnight. Took him into our bed but he wouldn't settle. Think I got about 2 hours sleep last night total. DH was up vomiting at 6am, so have left the pair of them at home on sofa bed downstairs. Didn't get into work until 9.45 as when I was about to leave ended up having to change bedclothes again due to DS throwing up. My poor boys are really not well, but with only 9 days left until mat leave I have had to come into work to get some stuff done.
May have to ring NHS Direct when I get home as DS is also crying when he wees (is that sign of infection?)

Hope your days are all better.

Astarte - hope you have managed to call mw. You are still more organised than me - really need to get on and order birthing pool, as I'm now 33+2 and not done it yet - aaagh! I'm soooo disorganised.

idreamofbeanie · 03/02/2009 12:05

Hi LaTour, I'm with you on the worrying thing. I keep expecting to feel more pregnant - not sure exactly what I imagine that feels like but I'm definitely not feeling it. I was quite queasy yesterday from first thing until about 3 o clock then this morning I woke up feeling okay (and my boobs aren't as sore) and panicked. I can't believe I only got my BFP 2 weeks ago - the next 6 weeks seems endless. I guess I've just got to get used to flipping between excitement and worry - it's probably practice for being a parent.

Sorry - that was very me me me . Hope everyone manages to get out and about and find something they want to eat!

Kayz - your DS is so cute getting all excited about the puppy

Diege - love Benjamin but I really like your other choices too, especially Noah

Glask - sorry the sickness has returned. You must think I'm crazy for feeling blue when I'm not sick!

LB- glad it's nothing serious, take care.

Hi to everyone I've missed

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 03/02/2009 12:08

Morning Star- sorry to hear your DS and DH are poorly. Hope you escape it. Defiantely agree that going sick just before maternity leave isnt the best idea...

We now have a blizzard like conditions. Crazy!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 03/02/2009 12:29

I've braved the PC- the fresh air collecting DS made me feel a bit perkier

SES- tinned soup and junk sounds brill- I've just had a corned beef and tomato sandwich for lunch- was nice but soup would have been one step better!!

Diege- I do still have some meds to hand, but really dont want to use them if i can help it... very nearly had one yesterday though. Also love the name BTW!!

GYo- head engaging is very exiting indeed!! And yes its not nice being sick with a large bump- it seems to push down even more on my bladder so i'm having to wear sanitary pads to catch 'leaks'...

IDOB- I think if i didn't have the sickness i'd be worried, I was so worried all through DD's PG as i wasn't sick once... so i can understand wanting it- just having it for the first 20wks, then having a 6wk break and it returning isn't so nice- I know it'll all be worth it ten-fold though once she's here so just concentrating on that for now!!

Star- sorry to hear about all the sickness at 'chez-star', hope you dont catch it!!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 03/02/2009 12:35

Glad you are feelig perkier Glask. Cant be fun at all....

I am very excited to have the head officially engaging - am desperate to have baby early or on time as I have to be at my DH's uni graduation ceremony 2wks after my due date!

Might start on some of LBs tips at 37wks. Or even look at geting some accupuncture.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 03/02/2009 12:39

I'll be doing everything from 36weeks!! Rasberry leaf tea, lots of sex, Hot curries, up and down the stairs, i'll eat 6 pineapples in a day- i'm getting this one out asap- i want the sickness over and my baby here!! Actually- thats in just over 6 weeks!!!! .... Hopefully in just over 7 weeks she'll be here!!!! argh- i'm gonna have 3 DC's!!!!

OMG- i think its just sunk in that in such a short time i really will have 3 DC's....
