Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Astarte · 30/01/2009 15:15

LBOT your at the Ickiness of pg and birth makes me giggle everytime I read your posts.
Buckets are for morning sickness. Diege and Glask had ones with their names on!

idreamofbeanie · 30/01/2009 15:15

Thanks for the welcome, I'll find a comfy spot on the sofa and try not to pinch all the tea - thank goodness it's Friday, I can hardly keep my eyes open.

GYo - we were just going to start ttc in January but we were too excited so decided to go for it in October. I'm still in shock that it happened this quickly although I'm delighted.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 30/01/2009 15:18

the cat has just used the litter tray for the first time in months!!!

idreamofbeanie · 30/01/2009 15:20

LOL at trying not to think about morning sickness ickiness. I don't need a bucket quite yet but was a bit lightheaded and slightly nauseous this morning so I'm sure I'll be grateful for one soon. Is it crazy to be almost looking forward to ms as a sign I'm really pregnant ? I'm sure I'll going to regret saying that in a few weeks time.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 30/01/2009 15:24

oh, just to say i'm not ready to give my bucket up anymore... last few days the sickness has returned, only once or twice in a morning but its still there!!

And cosmo has one too... might have to pop to B&Q round the corner and get a few more for the newly up-the-duff's.... i'm sure some of them will need em!!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 30/01/2009 15:24

Congrats again Idream.

Hurray for such a fast conception too!

lastboxoftampons · 30/01/2009 15:25

Astarte
That's what I thought - Hoping the buckets are regularly emptied! It's funny because I'm not incredibly squeamish, and I have a relatively high threshold for pain, but some times when I'm walking around I think OMG I've got a teeny-tiny person inside of me and eventually it's going to get bigger and then it's going to have to come out, I get REALLY freaked out! And I don't really like to puke either...

IDOB As twisted as it sounds, it's perfectly normal to want MS! I think I had a really good version of it in that I was a bit nauseous most days, but not all day long, and I would have a bit of a wretching fit every morning, but was only actually sick once. It's like I would wake up and on my way to work have a reassurance gag and then be on my way!

GruffaloSoldier · 30/01/2009 15:31

Oh I see Kayz, that does sound rubbish. what make is your camera? Could you email manufacturer? Could be cable I suppose. Did you try a different USB port? Grr to technology!

LOL at buckets!

kayzr · 30/01/2009 15:35

It is a Panasonic Lumix, I have e-mailed them, I'm hoping they will know what is wrong. It is a brilliant camera.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 30/01/2009 15:35

right the kids are having a nap so i think i'll see if i can take advantage and get one myslef!!

GruffaloSoldier · 30/01/2009 15:46

That sounds good Kayz, Im sure they will help you out. PITA for you though!

Have a good sleep Glask, I must say Im tempted myself but DH got home from work 30 mins ago early, hooray!

tinkhashertinklet · 30/01/2009 16:19

congrats 2 treats and idob (i remember u both)

sorry 4 camera - kay - hope that u get it sorted !!

sorry 4 cat gruff - we had to get rid of one of us a while ago when dd1 was little as he was weeing everywhere.

i went into town and used a boots giftcard that we got given. bought fisher price bottle warming flask. also bought with my money winnie the pooh dummies, dummie clip, dummy case .

dd2 is only drinking 2oz feeds today!!

Diege · 30/01/2009 16:34

Arghh, just lost post! Just wanted to say congrats to IDOB (love the new name) and yes I remember you! You are more than welcome to my bucket, as the worst of my sickness is in the past..
ASTARTE, have told one friend (even though me and dh have decided not to tell anyone we know). One of the mums at school asked if we'd found out, and felt a bit odd fibbing, but I suppose it will get easier. As someone on another thread said, now everyone will think we were keeping on trying for a boy, so will have to have 5 to prove them wrong .

Astarte · 30/01/2009 16:41

Go for it Diege, but I'm telling you categorically, you're on your own!

Diege how long have your labours been?

Diege · 30/01/2009 16:45

You've got to be kidding! I would rather saw my own arm off than have 5 Seriously, I think my body has had it, not to mention my mental state!
re: labours my first was 36 hours, second 6 hours, 3rd 5 hours. What about you?

Astarte · 30/01/2009 16:51

1 - 22.5 hours
2 - 6 hours
3 - just over 2 hours

Dh keeps talking about having a plan for this one as the m/w thinks it'll be a case of bba but I honestly don't know how you can plan

Is it a given that they become faster?

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 30/01/2009 17:15

TREATS!!!!
IDOB!!!!

I go out with my Mum for lunch and miss all the exciting news!!

Treats - good to see a fellow temper graduate and IDOB - I do remember you! Welcome to you both!!

Kay - Boots machines do put the pictures onto a CD. There are 2 different types of machine: yellow Kodak ones that will do it within minutes and blue Boots ones which can do it in the hour or 24 hours but as a result are a bit cheaper.

Glas - how sad about your cat but I agree with Astarte that it's probably best in the long run to let her go. V difficult though.

Diege · 30/01/2009 17:29

Hi SES - how was lunch?
ASTARTE, yes, I think faster is the general rule, although I am sure there are exceptions...What's bba???

Astarte · 30/01/2009 17:31

birth before arrival.
Iirc it's what NJ was concerned about.

I think I might need to get a mobile phone.

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 30/01/2009 17:34

Lunch was good. Mum was on quite good form which was nice. She also said that she and Dad had agreed to give us about £200 towards buggy or cot or whatever we wanted. Dad decided not to come as he said it would be all baby talk! We then went into town and I paid off the last of my credit card!!!

Now I'd better get back to tidying and cleaning!

How are you doing, Diege? Can't believe where all the time is going. 2nd trimester is definitely quicker than 1st!

Diege · 30/01/2009 18:08

Sounds a good day SES! I'm doing ok thanks - very much looking forward to mat leave, though is 3 months away!!
ASTARTE bba sounds very scary!! I don't think 4th babies are known to be particularly fast, though know what you mean if no.3 was just 2 hours . Yes, def get moby!!! Out of interest do you get any warning with your contractions?? I think mine must be 'silent' up to a point as they always start 4 mins apart, lasting 30-60 seconds - one of the reasons I think that I go into panic mode and demand an epidural!

Astarte · 30/01/2009 18:47

I didn't get any warning last time. I had one contraction that stopped me in my tracks and made me think "Ooh that was a bit pokey", followed by another one 15 minutes later, then 10 minutes after that.
Then, bam, I was hit with them every 3-4 minutes, lasting a minute. They were odd in that there was no build up, just hit me at the crest iyswim, so I didn't get any time to prepare for the next one.
Other than an uncontrollable urge to go to the toilet, which is where the m/w found me when she came in, I got no advance warning of the labour. When I got off the toilet I was 6-7cm dilated so well on the way before I really knew what was happening.
I think the pool possibly slowed things down a little.

I don't know.... I'll get a payg phone i think or maybe borrow one. The 'not much warning' is what's worrying me most I suppose.
Is that what it's called Diege? Silent Labour? how weird!

kayzr · 30/01/2009 19:03

My MIL popped in with my other SIL. They had pics of my neice and she is gorgeous. She was 6lb 14oz so tiny compared to DS2.

MIL told me to go back to work despite the fact they have cut hours right back and I would earn less than I do on ML.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 30/01/2009 20:19

DH has just taken the cat to his new home, I'm wandering round sobbing my eyes out... DH is going to get some marshmallows afterwards as i'm fancying hot chocolate with mashmallows in... I'm in a very restless, fidgety mood.... dont know what to do with myself!!

lardybump · 30/01/2009 20:22

OK Ladies I think I am going mad...... I have a TMI question for those who have had a show........

I just went to the toilet and in my knickers there was a clear jelly like substance. Not much but a little. Would this be a show or discharge??? I have been getting tummy pains as well but they really feel like trapped wind rather than anything else......

God help me I can not do 3 weeks of this sympton spotting......

Welcome to treats and IBOD congratulations!!!
