Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Diege · 30/01/2009 09:19

Enjoy your day off GRUFF! Good news TINKS about Bracken
I also hate this new mumnset format - it seems very white and sort of 'faded' and it's taking me ages to get into the topics I want Why do they always change it just as you've got used to it??

kayzr · 30/01/2009 09:20

Its really annoying me. It is too white!

LaTourEiffel · 30/01/2009 09:35

Thanks for good wishes everyone... AF is due today so you know I'm going to be running to the loo every ten mins to check.

I know I'm getting carried away. I know I am. I must stop and go and get on with some gentle housework!

I think they're still bug checking and are trying to sort out this 'too much white' issue, I hope they fix 'threads i'm watching' too! Have a good day everyone, x

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 30/01/2009 09:39

Kay- how do i make my MN look like it used to? my screen is wierd and i have to move to the side to read the end of every sentence!!

On names we asked the DC's and both say Sophie, so we're going to wait until she's born and see if she's a Ruby or a Sophie!! I feel so bad not having my name ready, had them at 20wks with the other 2!!

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 30/01/2009 09:46

Morning!

Anyway,

tink - that's fab news about Bracken

LaTour - all sounds v promising but I know what it's like trying not to get your hopes up. I'll be checking in regularly for news though!

Gruff - make the most of your day

Kay - I know June seems a long way off but it is good to know there is that option available.

Glask - don't worry about name. I know so many people that had no idea and didn't have a name at all for the first couple of days. At least you've narrowed it down.

Hi to everyone else!

kayzr · 30/01/2009 09:46

Glask, go to the top and where it says 'customize' click there and there is a mumsnet classic option. It doesn't look like it used to but it works the same.

Diege · 30/01/2009 09:50

Glask, I think Sophie and Ruby are both gorgeous names (would have loved Ruby for dd3, but we have a Scarlett so seemed a bit 'red').
LATOUR - didn't realise af was due today! I'd had the early waking for about a week before af was due. Take it easy, and remeber we are all here for you!
KAYZ, agree with the white - it's like looking through a cloud!
Well me and dh have had out first, shall we say 'heated discussion' about boy's names . He wants 'Benjamin', which is OK (quite like Ben) and says it's his 'turn'...Think I will leave it for a bit before letting him know that after carrying baby for 9 months, plus all the sickness, tis I who has the casting vote!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 30/01/2009 09:52

OOOOH- in all my haste to ask how i change my MN back i forgot to say hello to everyone- blame it on the PG brain!!

LaTour- good luck!!

Gruff- enjoy your day off- i wanted DH to stay at home today... i'm really exhausted and wanted him here- he's off sunday though so i'm just holding out till then!!

Diege- My sister is now having to buy boys clothing... when me and my other sis went shopping the day he was born to have some clothes for him we loved the stuff in Next, BHS, Debenhams, H&M and Monsoon... boots have a few nice things we got my sister lots of bibs, scratch mittens and tiny booties from there for him that are nice and lots were on 1/2 price so a good bargain!!

lardybump · 30/01/2009 09:56

Good morning everyone..... I have woken up and all my glands are swollen and my throat is so sore...... i am prone to glandulafever (sp?) as I had it when I was at school but hope it isn't going to turn into that, can you imagine!!!!!!
Anyway enough of that Diege a boy (he he he he he he he) I did warn you that my sister had 3 girls followed by a boy didn't I........ I am so pleased for you......
I am taking the EPO orally not as effective I know but apparently the stomach lining does absorb some of the benefits from it...

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 30/01/2009 10:00

its still not the same old MN and i have to move from side to side to read all the long sentences.... I dont like it one bit!!!!

Diege- we liked Benjamin for DS, but one day while I was suffering with my sickness and off work i wrote down the names to see how they 'looked' and i thought i'd spelt Benjamin wrong... tried spelling it a few different ways to find the right spelling and ended up crying because i thoguht if i dont even know how to spell it i cant use it for my DS!! DH just laughed at my reasoning for not using it as i'd had it right to begin with!! Then If DS had been a Girl he'd have been Elizabeth, and if DD was a boy she'd have been Oliver. We no longer liked Elizabeth for DD so finally found that we both liked Bethany. Took weeks to find that one though.

This time has been the hardest for me, I need to use a girls name we both like, and DH is very picky, and i like loads but could never use them as they wouldn't 'go' with our surname... and now we have 2 names we both like equally!!!!

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 30/01/2009 10:07

Morning LB - poor you
Hope it doesn't develop into anything nastier. Have you got any ribena or honey/lemon to make yourself a soothing hot drink?

I'm waiting for my Mum to phone. Probably going out for lunch with her and Dad today.

Am also progressing a little with my housework. I'm progressing in my sadness though.... My spreadsheet is so complete that I'm thinking of laminating it and putting it up in the kitchen for us to constantly use!

lardybump · 30/01/2009 10:08

Glask dont be sad. with dd we had a boys name and a girls name picked out at about 9 weeks..... We still havent got one for this one yet and it is due in 3 weeks.....

I have a bit of an up;set tummy now as well..... symptom anyone???????? or just wishfull thinking......

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 30/01/2009 10:09

Glask - just seen on another thread that pressing CTRL and F5 together can solve the problem of the page not fitting on the screen properly. Worth a try...

lardybump · 30/01/2009 10:10

Oh ses just the lady.....

I have rented a Tens machine from boots (did this last time as well.) but because of my scare I have rented it a bit early. The rental period ends 3 days after my due date so if I go over I am buggered. Do they charge loads if you extend the rental period???

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 30/01/2009 10:12

I have never come across a store that charges extra LB if you go over the rental date. I'd suggest that you give the store a ring a couple of days before the date it's due back and explain and clarify then that there won't be any extra charge. Take the name of the person you speak to just in case. I don't think though that there's even a facility to put an extension charge through the till!
If you have any problems, let me know!!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 30/01/2009 10:13

LB- i know it happens- but i felt so prepared.... now i feel like i'm so unprepared again!! odd i know!!

SES- tried it and it didn't make any difference

kayzr · 30/01/2009 10:19

I feel really annoyed with myself. We had worked out a way for me to go to Crufts. I was getting a 16-25 railcard so the train was cheap and my Mum was paying for the train. I only had to pay for the railcard and admission. Its only £37 but I can't justify doing it. I am really upset about it as I thought I was going.

Someone slap me.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 30/01/2009 10:22

its only some dogs kay- go to RSPCA for the day instead- its free and there are some much better dogs in there !!haha I do know how upsetting i is when you realise your money is better spent elsewhere though. Maybe you will be able to make it if DH gets a job before then? or there's always next year.

lardybump · 30/01/2009 10:30

Kay it really isn't worth getting into debt for. My mum shows dogs and has entry this year but is not going as she can not afford it, I suspect with the current ecconomic situation that there will be a lot of people not going to these events..... I would wait until next year......

Glask i havent even packed my hospital bag yet now that is unprepared.... When they kept me in at the begining of the week dp had to go to tesco to get toothpaste etc and I had nothing to sleep in so had to use a hospital gownd..... not good I can tell you...... Must get it done this weekend....

lardybump · 30/01/2009 10:31

Thanks for that ses. I wonder if i have ever seen you in my local Boots.......

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 30/01/2009 10:35

LB- get that bag packed woman!! I'm almost sorted on packing mine- and i'm only 29wks!!!!!

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 30/01/2009 10:38

Can't remember exactly where you are geographically LB but I have got around quite a few stores in my time Currently (well not today as I'm on leave) you could see me in any store in East Sussex although I have also previously covered many in mid & east Surrey and some in North Hampshire.
I know most store managers and area managers though within Hampshire and Kent too!!

I'm completely Boots brainwashed by the way! At the moment I'm worried about withdrawl symptoms when I'm on mat leave. In reality I know my priorities will completely change and I'll have lots else on my plate! I have never worked for anyone else though - and I mean never. Started as a Saturday girl in my local branch and went back every holiday when at Uni and then got a job with them straight out of uni! Seeing as I was 16 when I started as a Saturday girl and I'm now approaching 36 in a few weeks...

lardybump · 30/01/2009 10:41

Maidstone is my local store ses I dont live in the town but it is my local store.....

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 30/01/2009 10:47

Ooh! That's where our regional office is! There's the big one in Chequers shopping centre (I know the manager there a little) where the office is and the little one in Fremlin Walk!! I often nip down Fremlin Walk when I'm at Regional Office and have a sneaky hot chocolate in Costa!!
