Wow diege congratulations
Bet your DH is chuffed to bits.

Diege · 28/01/2009 21:35

Hi GRUFF! DH is in shock (pleasant shock) as am I!!! The bits were really clear though (as sonographer said, 'he's [he!! eek!!] not shy!!. dh said how sure can you be it's a boy, and she said 110% . DDs will lick him into shape anyway - I think he will be good husband material having 3 bossy older sisters!!

kayzr · 28/01/2009 21:35

Thanks Diege. Also thanks for giving me hope that we could have a girl next!

Have you told the DD's?

Diege · 28/01/2009 21:39

Thanks 2bg . No, we've kept it a surprise from dds, although older ones really want a brother . As dd1 says, she has sisters already . DD2 very confused about photos - says they're just like the piccies that A brought to school least week (her mum's having a baby same time as me) but how could they look the same?? Would they look like twins when they were born??? bless her!

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 28/01/2009 22:51

Just back from pizza with the girls and had to check in for Diege's news....

Fantastic!! Bet you're glad you found out now!!! Better start thinking up a short list of names!!

Bless DD2 thinking that the two babies would look like twins!

Anyway, after much gossip, I'm exhausted so off to bed. Catch you all tomorrow!!

Starshinetiger · 28/01/2009 23:06

Just back from antenatal class and had to check in for your news Diege - CONGRATULATIONS!
Very delighted for you and DH and DDs - you've got loads of time for names - I've got 7.5 weeks and not found one yet - cripes!
Kayz, sorry to hear news about DH's job you sound very sensible about it and I'll keep everything crossed for a successful job centre visit on Monday and something to come up soon.
Astarte - ooh, a possible show, could this be the start of something...
Right, must get some sleep tonight, been so tired lately.

lastboxoftampons · 28/01/2009 23:42

DIEGE!!!!!!!!
That is so fabulous! Really pleased for you and your DH! You can stop reproducing with a clean conscience now

Astarte Hope this is the start of something for you! Although have to admit I was half laughing, half kind of wretching at your post! Oh, I'm so not ready for this!!!!

AND, if Diege is having a boy, it just might mean you'll have a before due date and under 7lb 3oz'er!!!! Crazy things are happening on the wagon, you know!

Lardy did think it was quite a coincidence that someone else on pregnancy was looking for their cervix at same time as you

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 29/01/2009 07:55

Morning all

Congatulations Diege, glad the scan was ok what a lovely surprise to get a boy!

Am thrilled for you

Astarte · 29/01/2009 08:23

for healthy scan first of all, very pleased for you

for BOY

Never mind the baby names, you've got some serious shopping to do Diege hehe!

Dh is starting to get a bit nervous now poor soul. He wants to have a 'chat' tonight about having a plan so that I'm not alone with the kids when I give.

I've told him I plan to ring the m/w's , the simpleton.

I jokingly told him about my prediction to have the baby on Tuesday after the show last night and he said "but I'm really busy next week and I've just arranged a meeting for Tuesday at 4pm!"

He's got up this morning feeling strangely more inclined to make it to the birth of his child.....numbskull!

Right got breakfasts to do before Postman Pat finishes
Be back for a catch up in a bit.

kayzr · 29/01/2009 08:49

Morning.

It was a pretty good night here. DS1 did wake up but didn't get out of bed. I went and gave him a cuddle and he went back to sleep. DS2 slept from 12 til 6. Which was very nice.

Has it sunk in yet Diege?

Cosmogirl · 29/01/2009 08:53

Morning,

Congrats on your scan Diege and on a boy! How exciting. That is cool that the sonographer was so sure too. Ours won't give us any more than 80 per cent, so still reserving judgement even though have been calling bump 'she and her' for weeks now - opps!

Kayz - so sorry to hear about your DH. It is such a rough time at the moment. A friend of ours who worked in construction industry was made redundant yesterday too. Hope he is able to find something before too long.

Cosmogirl · 29/01/2009 09:04

BTW, could anyone enlighten me as to what the 'mouldies' debate on MN was? I completely missed this and have no idea what it was all about?....

Astarte · 29/01/2009 09:10

Cosmo some longstanding MN'ers set up another site just in case MN had to close due to the GF legal issues at the time.

The site they set up was not open to the public though and membership required invitation & approval before you could access it.
Some people were rather upset that they were left out.
People weren't happy that some MN'ers could come here and then if they wanted to, post there as well with a greater degree of privacy.

The fishy one is there I think after being outed by some f*cker on here. Some of them only post over there some post on both sites.

MN started to pull all threads pertaining to it, which I'm not too sure helped the furore atm, but the dust seems to have settled for the minute.

kayzr · 29/01/2009 09:12

I missed it too but someone explained it.

I saw all the fishy one stuff. I really felt for her, bloody tw*ts!!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 29/01/2009 09:19

Diege- I knew it'd be a boy after you being 99.9% certain it was another girl- it was the same as me... almost certain it was a boy and i'm having a girl!! How exiting will baby shopping be for you now???!!!

kay- your night sounds like it was a good one.

Ast- hope it was a show so we can have another wagon arrival soon!!!

I'm off to see my little nephew again today, i miss him!! So woke up and text my sis to see what she's up to, she said she was going to text and see if i fancied coming round today- so we're off out in an hour or so.

Realised last night that if my MW is right and DD2 arrives at 37wks, its only 8 weeks away tomorrow..... how scary and exiting is that??? in just over 7 weeks time the MW is coming to set me up for a HB too.... i can't believe just how fast the time has ticked by!!

Cosmogirl · 29/01/2009 09:35

Thanks for explaining Ast. Had no idea it was all linked to the GF thing. Seems there is new furore building over the MN books now! I can't keep up...

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 29/01/2009 09:56

Having a tiny dilemma... DD2 is currently set for being named Ruby Marie... but about a wek ago we realised that we both really like Sophie Marie and it isn't as popular as Ruby... problem is that DC's know baby as 'baby Ruby' already... would it be bad and confusing for them to change our name now?? Thing is we are now torn between both names and cannot decided which we like best!! Ruby isn't very common round here anyway... and neither is Sophie... ARGH!!!!! i'm confused... off to get myself and the DC's dressed now ready to go out, but had to vent!!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 29/01/2009 10:05

Morning Glask-

I'd go with what ever you'd prefer, the DCs will soon adjust to the name and forget about the other name.

Diege · 29/01/2009 10:13

Morning!! Just a quickie as snowed under with A level exam scripts and a very tight deadline. Thanks again for all the congrats . Still a teeny bit worried about the cysts, even though I was reassured by the consultant. I am a worrier though, so am likely to torment myself even when there's no real reason. May start a thread on cpcs just to put a line under it all!
Still very shocked about a boy (in a good way); keep on remembering and it feels like it did when I found out I was pregnant for the first time - all new and exciting. Have also made my first 'boy' purchase ; a cute blue teddy fleece coat with ears in the boden sale for next autumn
GLASK, I agree with GYO - I would go for the one you and dh like best - dcs will def adjust
Hello to everyone else! Normal service will resume when I've come out of shock and have made inroads into my marking pile!

tinkhashertinklet · 29/01/2009 10:36

morning

have just given dd2 a bath is all lovely now we have the midwife coming over @ 12pm for weighing.

oh no kay hopefully dh will find another job.

diege - congrats we had an 88% chance of it being a girl

lastboxoftampons · 29/01/2009 10:40

Glask I agree with everyone else - the kids will adjust. But, actually, I think Sophie is more popular than Ruby. I know of several Sophie/Sophias, but no Ruby's.

yay on the boy purchase Diege sounds adorable! I'm a worrier too, so I can imagine how you must feel, but you need to do your best to believe what the consultant told you and get on with the second half (!) of your pregnancy! Enjoy it!!!

And so funny about the other website - there's a US website that I visit that had nearly the EXACT same issues! Funny how girls are, isn't it!??! I bet there aren't many (predominantly) men's motor car racing and/or computer forums that have the same problems!

kayzr · 29/01/2009 10:57

Oh and MIL sent DH a text about our neice but he hasn't recieved it. So we don't know what happened but she did try to tell us.

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 29/01/2009 11:31

Morning!

First of my 2 days off work Having lunch with a friend later. She's 32 weeks pg with her second and went into premature labour last week. She's ok now but not sure what caused it. She did have a minor bump in the car that day but it didn't even wake her DD up and no bruising from seatbelt. Anyway will be good to catch up and have some baby talk without worrying about boring others!

Diege - not suprised your still in (happy) shock!! Well done on buying first boy stuff but get shopping girl!!

Astarte - LOL at your DH! I'm back at work next week - can you not make it sometime over the next 4 days??!

Glask - again, agree with the concensus about names. In your gut, will you regret not calling her Ruby/Sophie?

Star - oooh! Do you need any help with names? Do you have a shortlist?!

tink - good luck with MW.

Kay - glad you had a good night. How's your DH?

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 29/01/2009 11:53

Btw - I am really sad.... I have just spent half an hour creating a spreadsheet for me and DH to use for getting the house tidy over the next few days. You would not believe the detail on this spreadsheet. I have done it by room with each task in each room in the order that I think it should be done. I told DH and he laughed at me I hope to make a start today and tomorrow whilst he's at work and then we can do some together at the weekend.

What am I like???!!!
