Morning All,
Kayz - yay for good sleep. Sorry to hear about uncertainty at DH's work. No, they couldn't tell the perms something about the agency staff without telling agency staff at same time or before. They may have been telling perms about potential impacts to them, but would leave agencies to inform agency staff, as they are their employer. Boo about shift time changes - not good.
Diege - glad DD2 is back at work. Thinking of you for this afternoon.
GYo - cute scan pic
Glask - sorry DS is off nursery again and lips are sore. Not nice for him or you. Don't think I said congrats on becoming an auntie - so congrats!
Did anyone else have weird dreams last night?! I dreamt I gave birth to a boy, but it was so quick DH missed it because he was watching Liverpool v. Everton on the tv next door Told DH and he said that he dreamt that I gave birth also, but that he said "Oh babe, your dreams have come true, it's a girl... only joking, it's a boy". Said he only told me that because he would never actually do that! I don't mind boy or girl, but I think he thinks I really want a girl. Then, my new Coordinator (who only started last week as a contractor) said she dreamt that she had to drive me home from work because I went into labour - LOL! Apparently it was a full moon last night, so maybe that explains it?!
Ses - bless your DH for being so proud of himself for being tactful - it's times like that, which remind you how different men are to women, eh!? Suppose you've got to give him credit and laugh or you'd cry. Does sound like he's trying though, which is sweet.
Ah well, back to work - no rest for the wicked....

Hello all!

Working from home today but don't feel like I've got anything done yet and it's not due to MN!!
Just lots of phonecalls and queries to sort out from work instead of the planning I wanted to do.

Diege - thinking of you and fingers crossed.

Kay - sounds like a v good night
Also, I've always found cycling a really good way to lose weight and get toned - good luck! One disadvantage of our new house is that it's not v good for cycling nearby as the 3 sides which are beautiful countryside are up a v long steep hill and the other side is the main A23 London to Brighton Rd.

GYo - it is a very good piccie. I'm with you on not minding on whether this one's a girl or a boy. I do enjoy speculating though...

Boss on phone now... better go...

Diege · 27/01/2009 11:35

Thanks for the good wishes about the scann everyone . Honestly, I feel such a wimp but have never had a 'good' 20 week scan so I suppose only natural to be scared. Dh is dragging me out to Nandos now as I've not been able to eat anything today. Baby moving lots (and starting to move at night too now)so nice and reassuring, and measuring fine for dates with midwife, so must hold into the positives.
Off in about 30 mins, but speak when back from London Wed eve.

Oh and a long shot, but do any Londoners know how I get from Euston Square tube station to Holburn tube station???? The map doesn't seem to link up very well (but this is obviosuly just me as it takes 12 mins on journey planner )

Diege · 27/01/2009 11:36

Oh and GYO my first thought was 'definitely boy' when I saw your photos

kayzr · 27/01/2009 11:38

Have you seen this?

8!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Starshinetiger · 27/01/2009 11:46

Diege,
Are you sure it's Euston Square you want to travel from - if you're coming in by train, you'll either come to Euston, or to Kings Cross. From Euston, take Northern Line south to Tottenham Court Road and then Central Line East 1 stop to Holborn. If Kings Cross, take the Piccadilly Line southbound directly to Holborn (3 stops i think). If you are really coming into Euston Square, is easier just to walk from Euston Square to Euston or Kings Cross - should only take you 5 mins. You can access maps from www.tfl.gov.uk
Enjoy Nandos - now you're making me think I might have to drag DH and DS there on Sat for lunch - yum!

Diege · 27/01/2009 11:49

Oh wow thanks STAR! I have just written your directions down - what a life saver! Euston is actually good for me, so will take it from there! What would I do without you lot eh!

kayzr · 27/01/2009 12:21

I am really really confused. I have just measured myself and according to size guides on dorothy perkins I am over a size 24.

I am obviously nowhere near that big as I have to wear a belt to keep my size 18 jeans up but size 16 don't fit. I needs to lose 20 inches off my waist!!!!

lastboxoftampons · 27/01/2009 12:52

Diege If you're coming in to Euston and you're brave enough, you can take the bus from outside the station down to Holborn - probably quickest and most buses do stop there (59 and 68 off the top of my head). I work right about across the street from Euston

Starshinetiger · 27/01/2009 13:05

okay - quick one - what is going rate for babysitter of an evening? Have someone who can babysit tomorrow, so DH and I can go to antenatal class, but don't know what going rate is - can anyone recommend?

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 27/01/2009 13:22

Star - sorry, no idea about babysitting rates... I'm sure someone else will be along shortly who will know.

I have booked my antenatal pilates class!!! Am a bit scared as I've never been good at any kind of sport or exercise and always end up feeling self conscious and embarrassed. I know though that it will be good for me and I need to do it. There's a course of 6 classes and it costs £60 for the full course which I think is a bargain!! First one, next Monday morning!

Diege · 27/01/2009 13:47

Just a quickie as back from lunch then off out again to hossy soon. We have decided to find out the sex (sorry GYO!!); dh's decision, but I didn't argue..So at least something to look forward to.
Re: baby sitting rates STAR we get MIL so obviously free, but from speaking to friends they would pay about £15 for an evening (ie, 7 to midnight).
Good to have bus option thanks LBOX, although I feel irrationally nervous about taking a London bus, don't ask me why! Intrigued as to your place of work now...it's not that Crispey Creme van is it?

Starshinetiger · 27/01/2009 13:52

Thanks Diege for babysitting rates - good luck for scan. Can't believe you're going to have scan and find out sex and then disappear off until tomorrow evening without telling us - how inconsiderate!

Diege · 27/01/2009 13:56

Oh dh has just said £15 is stingey which I suppose it is on an hourly rate...

lastboxoftampons · 27/01/2009 13:59

No worries - I totally understand, it can be really daunting if you're not used to it - just thought I'd throw it out there! Have fun at your scan!

And no, not currently working at the KK van, although it does sound yummy! Believe it or not, nestled behind the church across the street from Euston station is a very small dance theatre and state of the art contemporary dance school That's me!

Wow, £15 for a night of babysitting is impressive! I thought for sure you were going to say £15/hour!!! Star I think it probably depends on where you are really, but I'm not sure what it is here in London.

Ses enjoy your classes! I need to get off my behind and do something

Kay aren't DP clothes cut notoriously small?

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 27/01/2009 14:10

Hello LBOT!

Kay - I agree about sizing of DP clothes. Also, it sounds like you're being sensible about trying to eat healthily and do a bit of exercise. I'm impressed - also more likely to lead to longer term and more sustainable weight loss.
(Remind me of this in June!)

Diege - can't believe you've changed your mind, but I want to know now!!! (Well at about 2.31pm ) V exciting!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 27/01/2009 14:40

Hi all- GTT results are all fine and normal.

Just seen MW who said i was measuring big for my weeks, i measure 29.... but am 28+4 today??? i know everyone says its a load of tosh anyway, and i was never measured with the other 2, but she started saying 'well if your DS was a big baby it should be ok, you've delivered a big baby before.... silly woman!!

Diege but that your finding out the sex- i'm all exited now!!! you may even know by now if your hospital is efficient and on time (unlike mine!!)

Kay- dont worry i measure much bigger than the sizes i fit into from DP.... i can currently fit into a size 18 trousers i've bought for after the baby arrives... i think they may be too big once i've given birth if they fit me nicely at 28wks pg!!

Star i'd also say it depends who it is... if its a proper babysitter who you dont know, ie from an agency or locals etc then they may 'charge' you... if its a teenager who you know then i'd say £15 for a night would be more than enough, if family of any sort then same again. If we ever need a sitter its family who never want paying, so instead we treat them every now and again to show we aren't taking the p**s.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 27/01/2009 14:50

Astarte - Feb 5th @ 12pm 7lb 7oz.
Diege - Feb 6th @ 10.00am 71b 8oz.
GYo - Feb 7th @ 07.30am 7lb 10oz.
Glask - Feb 8th @ 03.46am 8lb 1.5oz.
Moos - Feb 9th @ 2.03pm 7lb 11oz.
tink - Feb 10th @ 12pm 8lbs.
Kayz - Feb 12th @ 02:44am 8lbs 2oz.

hadn't made a guess either.

tinkhashertinklet · 27/01/2009 17:02

evening!!

i know 8 kay 2 scare me how is it possible to cope with 8 you would need to live in a mansion, be a millonaire!!

astarte - ikea is great ye for pink

i am feeling heavy down there today think things are waking up!!

Astarte · 27/01/2009 17:29

Diege for finding out the sex. I hope everything is reassuring for you

Tink , you'll never win the syndicate! I've never had a baby earlier than dates, nevermind on actual Due Date.

I'll give you all 3 clues for a more accurate guess in case any of you want to change you mind.

They are always late, always arrive during the afternoon and the lowest birthweight yet has been 7lb8oz.

I reckon from that list that Moos is probably gonna be the closest.....even if she is taking the piss by putting down the birth of Ds2!

Good luck with the cycling Kayz.

Tink what do you mean things are waking up? If you are feeling heavy, have you not been doing a bit much? It's only been a week, do take care of yourself

Well, I'm off, have cleaned all downstairs to Nesting standards and now need to lie down I think.
M/w tomorrow, will pop on for Diege's 'healthy baby boy' update and to see whether her n Dh have recovered from the shock hehehe!

GruffaloSoldier · 27/01/2009 18:55

Hi all

Just a quick one as Im off babysitting! I charge £5 an hour usually Star!

Glask I am measuring 31cm and am supposed to nbe 28 so I wouldnt worry too much especially as my MW said they allow 3cm margin either side!

Right got to dash but hopefully will get on tomorrow night properly!!

kayzr · 27/01/2009 20:34

Evening,

Its a good thing I know we haven't had sex yet or I would think I could be pg. I am really craving egg mayonnaise. I have had it 3 times in the last week. I have just made some(with low fat mayo). I can't even remember the last time I had it.

Starshinetiger · 27/01/2009 21:40

Evening all.
Lol re. cravings and being pg again Kayz!
Gruff - thanks for tips on babysitting rates. We're using someone who nannies nearishby, so we'll see how it goes - is only so DH and I can both go to antenatal class.

Haven't made a guess on Astarte's sweepstake yet, so here goes:

Astarte - Feb 5th @ 12pm 7lb 7oz.
Diege - Feb 6th @ 10.00am 71b 8oz.
GYo - Feb 7th @ 07.30am 7lb 10oz.
Glask - Feb 8th @ 03.46am 8lb 1.5oz.
Moos - Feb 9th @ 2.03pm 7lb 11oz.
tink - Feb 10th @ 12pm 8lbs.
Star - Feb 11th @ 4.15pm 7lb 12oz.
Kayz - Feb 12th @ 02:44am 8lbs 2oz.

Sending you vibes for another good night Kayz!
