OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
GruffaloSoldier · 23/01/2009 18:55

Spa weekend sounds lush Diege I am very

Gyo - no injection was ok, a little sore but nothing major. just had a very achey arm after (although that could have had something to do with having blood test and injection in same arm within minutes of each other!)

My DH is We are just doing more tidying as my sister and husband are comng tomorrow. I now completeley understand the phrase "things will get worse before they get better"

I am going to cook dinner now, I cant remember the last time I cooked dinner for me and Dh DH was quite surprised when I offered! Bad wife alert!

moosma · 23/01/2009 19:56

Gruff onwards (EDD-wise), read this

GruffaloSoldier · 23/01/2009 20:24

Hey moosma

Yes, the grant is really good isn't it! I haven't applied for mine yet though. will get round to it eventually!

Just finished my dinner, yummy salmon steaks, I made a parsley and lemon sauce and sweet potato wedges, swetcorn and peas

cant move off sofa now though

Astarte · 23/01/2009 20:52

I never have babies at the right time

Astarte · 23/01/2009 23:28

I cant sleep.

DH lay next to the baby on the bottom bunk to try and settle him at 7pm and they both fell asleep! He's still there.

Diege I simply couldn't resist a dozen creme eggs in Asda. Have 8 left

Finally managed to listen to hypno cd all the way through today. 'tis good and happily includes actually having a baby at the end. Well I was beginning to worry what it said as I had yet to hear the end

I started to worry if the end was really some instructions on how to transfer all my money into a Nigerian bank, or that I'd get to the second stage and the subliminal messages would kick in and I'd announce I was off to the Pet shop to buy a toad!

Or worse I'd get to fully dilated and everything would stop with me announcing I hadn't got further than this on the cd and wasn't sure what to do next

Might have a cuppa and squeeze in one more creme egg....

Oh, on the syndicate:

Astarte - Thursday 5th @12pm, weighing 7lb 7oz.

moosma · 23/01/2009 23:43

'cos I don't remember having many, if any, last time are these are pokey.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 24/01/2009 05:50

Morning- Ast- you beat me to posting- I've been awake since 4.30am.... can't get in touch with m sister, contractions died off again yesterday, but then she had high temp and felt ill last night at about 8.30ish and was asked to go in to be monitored. Mum had an operation yesterday and can't be there with her, and DH is working and is the only manager so can't really do anything so i can be there with her, so its up to the middle sister who has no experience and is no good at encouraging her!! oh dear!!

Also i'm feeling very swollen and sore ahem, down there... been awake lots with BH's... but i kinda dont feel 'right' can't explain it, just feel really odd... felt a bit wierd on my bump for a few days, and my SPD has just almost vanished since thursday morning... bit odd, but i'll see....

I'm going to get a bath and do some bits around the house before the Dc's wake up, doubt i'kl get on again as my sis is being induced at 9am so if possible i'll be visiting on the visiting hrs with the DC's, and then if she's not given birth by time DH gets home tonight at 7ish then i'll be bombing it down there to be with her.

Hope your all ok.

Astarte · 24/01/2009 05:59

Goodness Glask, your poor sister is going through the mill isn't she poor thing. I can't believe they've left her all this time.
I bet you can't wait to get to her side

I can't sleep, have pottered about since 5am, I don't feel right either Glask. Had BH (not painful) constantly over the last 24 hours but never getting anymore frequent or worse, except for the occasional shooty pain up inside. Luckily though heartburn seems to have cleared up

Don't know what that is, could just be the head on my pelvic floor.

Still have loads to do to get ready it feels, so she can stay in there a bit longer and I wouldn't be bothered.

Yay for the spd clearing, bet that feels loads better

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 24/01/2009 08:04

I'm an Aunty!!!!!! My first niece was born at about 5.53am (if i remember the right time my mum said), she managed on pethadine and G&A, baby weights 6lb 10oz!! I've just made her card, will be going to my mums then i'll pop into town while my parents have the DC's so i can get a couple of balloons and a cute banner for her coming home. She's wanting to leave asap, so could be home at lunch-time!! I can't wait to meet my little niece!!

The SPD clearing feels very odd I'm expecting it back any minute basically- almost doesn't feel real being able to get up and do things like normal almost!!

Astarte · 24/01/2009 08:06

woohoo!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 24/01/2009 08:11

I'm beaming from ear to ear- shame she was almost alone though. Babies dad left the hospital at 2am as nothing was happening, then at about 3am the pains started again, at 4.30am they examined her and she was heavily dilated so decided to take her to delivery suite, Phoned my sister who got their about 10mins before she arrived!! apparently she's beautiful and is all eyes at everything around her, has had her first bottle already, sister needed a few stitches, but otherwise all is well. I just can't wait!!!!

Astarte · 24/01/2009 08:13

has she got a name? Glad pelvis is holding today, don't do too much though.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 24/01/2009 08:16

Millie-Rose.

Other than a little wander for balloons and banners it will all be bus trips so i'm sure i'll be fine... yesterday I walked to and from nursery, walked to the library with DD, then to the post office... so did a fair amount and it was still ok!! Feels very surreal though!!

kayzr · 24/01/2009 08:30

Congratulations Glask!!!!

We had a pretty good night. DS2 slept for 4 hours, woke up to be fed and slept for another 3. But we were woken up by an almighty thud!! We were both scared shitless and there was DS1 on the floor at the bottom of our bed!!

We are now worried he sleep walks as he was fast asleep despite just falling over.

moosma · 24/01/2009 08:43

Glask - woohoo for your sister!

Astarte - I find we're just getting to the end of the terrible oneandahalfs actually! My two were both AWFUL from 18-24 months, so she's calming down a bit now Impressive how much volume they can create though isn't it?!

I can't remember what KNUF stands for now, can you remind me?

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 24/01/2009 09:05

Erm.... my niece is actually a nephew.... he's called Max Robert... at the 20wk scan she was told it was a girl... so at birth she didn't check for bits... then when the babies dad arrived he saw it was a boy!!! I need to go and get a boys outfit now!!

kayzr · 24/01/2009 09:20

ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!

That could be the funniest thing I have ever heard.

Do you have to re-do your card?

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 24/01/2009 09:22

yes- i have to re-do my card, I also have to go and buy some blue for her.... it is kinda funny- but the poor boy was known as Millie for the first 2hrs of his life!!

Cosmogirl · 24/01/2009 09:24

Morning all,

Congrats Glask on your..nephew! Right, I am glad we have gone for a black pram and not bought too many pink things.....can you trust these sonographers?

Urghh must try to push the nausea to back of mind today and get some housework done.....tis not going to be easy but must try. Thanks for my wagon endurance medal, Diege. I honestly don't know how I am managing to work either, and I still have 5 weeks left.....I am just very unmotivated and unproductive and thankfully don't have a boss that directly monitors my work. If I did, I may be in trouble!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 24/01/2009 09:25

Right i'm off. visiting hrs are 2-3pm... So i'm going to get the DC's sorted and then go into town and get some blue to re-adjust my nappy cake, and buy a bit of blue for him. She only bought pink!! luckily I didn't put the unisex sleepsuits etc on ebay yet so she can have them for him...

Diege · 24/01/2009 10:26

Many congrstualtions GLASK on the birth of your nepehew! The Millie story will be a funny one for him to tell when he is older (I think ). You must be so exited .
ASTASTE, lol at cream egg total . That's not bad going at all . I think you and me both could probably manage a full size easter egg one. LOL at your hypono tape - imagine getting to the birth stage and it saying something like..'For the final section of this tape please forward £20.99 so that you can enjoy the full hypno experince - otherwise the full hypno-birthing experience is not guantanteed' .
Glad you had a better night KAYZ . Thought for a minute the thud was ds2 falling out of bed - was it just me or do others have 'fond' memories of when they start to roll over and there's that sickening thud, silence, and then horrible crying as they roll off the bed...
COSMO - I don't blame you for feeling unmotivated at work - 5 weeks left!!! How many weeks will you be when you finish for mat leave??
OK, my guesses on Astarte's syndicate...
Astarte's syndicate:

Astarte - Thursday 5th @12pm, weighing 7lb 7oz.
Moos - Feb 9th @ 2.03pm, weighing 7lb 11oz
Diege - Feb 6th @ 10.00am weighing 71b 8oz

Have had e-mail back from doula today who sounds lovely and suggests meeting up for an informal meeting. All good, but when I mentioned it to dh he didn't seem keen at all - said he would feel like a 'spare part' Of course I won't proceed if he's not happy, but he doesn't even know what a doula does (not do I really , hence the proposed meeting). Any tips on how to proceed?? .
Right, off to wagamamas for lunch - my favourite place in the world!!

moosma · 24/01/2009 10:37

Hi everyone else!
