Ooh! Sounds good GYo

I've finished for the day but am in Eastbourne which means a drive home of about 80 mins so I've stopped off for a drink before getting in the car.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 22/01/2009 16:59

i'll pass on the biccie- but tea 2 sugars would go ammis!!

I boguht a pump with DS, and couldn't pump with it properly, bought an electric one and a manual one and couldn't use either- i think its becasue i have very large breasts. anyway i had to hand express and it was so much easier. I'm considering getting an avent closer to nature (i think) pump to see if i can use one this time- didn't attempt to use one with DD. But if i can't i'm quite happy to hand express as it was actually easier on both my breasts and my hands (when usuing the manual pump)

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 22/01/2009 17:00

wouldn't go a miss.... whats happening with my typing there??

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 22/01/2009 17:03

Thanks Glask- is hand expressing easier if you are bigger?

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 22/01/2009 17:07

i found it very easy.... your midwife should be able to show you how to hand express properly.

Diege · 22/01/2009 18:15

Hello! Just a quick evening post as hectotic here with dds in crazy-mode
Midwife visit was good. Heard heartbeat that she found very quickly, and tummy measured for dates, so very pleased .
Right, better go, dd3 just knocked pile of videos and cockatiel going crazy!
Sorry for me post! Speak tomorrow xxx

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 22/01/2009 18:31

Great news that tbe MW went well Diege. lovely to hear a HB.

Good luck with chaotic DDs and bird!

NatalieJane · 22/01/2009 18:43

Yes, the smiles are deffo forming HV was very pleased, he is 8lb 2oz now, following the charts spot on for weight, height, and head circumference, jumped out of his skin when she dropped him, followed by massive crying fit, followed by DS2 massive crying fit and yelling at the HV "NO" because Mikey was crying... It went well....!

Diege great about the HB

I also found hand expressing easier than the pump, though only ever tried avent hand pump, might have had more joy with a different one? And I am at most a DD cup so not hugely massive.

Arghhh, dinner burning in oven, I will try and get back.....

GruffaloSoldier · 22/01/2009 19:13

Hey everyone,

Just a quick post but Gyo I got an electric breast pump (avent isis) recommended by two friends who paid £85 for theirs, I got mine off ebay for £27 which is quite good! I think the NCT hire them out too. I have heard that electric is definitely better than manual pump. HTH

Hope everyone is ok - I am having quite a bit of trouble with my back today and feeling like there is still SO much to do Im a bit overwhelmed so am going to have a little rest and then try and get more stuff done!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 22/01/2009 19:27

Thanks for suggestion Gruff. Will defo try hand expressing too- thanks Nat. Great news that Mikey is on track etc

Have you got some recent photos of him on your profile.. or i could look!!

Just saw this on BBC website re breastfeeding. Amused me a lot

here

GruffaloSoldier · 22/01/2009 19:31

My Dh's Grandma has knitted them too!Or she was asked - it was for the NCT. She does the little smoothie bottle hats for Age Concern too

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 22/01/2009 19:45

Thats really funny Gruff. Imagine sitting there scuplting nipples!

Not sure I've seen those smoothie hats though..

lardybump · 22/01/2009 21:05

evening all hope you are well.... I had a chat with mw and we are going to see how it goes. She wouldn't recommend inductions unless there was a medical reason for it. We agreed to me giving the support a go and if no better then she will refer me...
HB was very clear and baby in position. Not engaged yet but she said second babies dont engage!!!
I have been feeling sick all evening and I have been getting strange tummy pains...

kayzr · 23/01/2009 06:14

Morning,

I actually had a good day at MIL's yesterday. She didn't moan about anything really. She is really annoyed on my behalf about the whole bf thing.

DS2 ended up in our bed last night. He wasn't settling again and I was exhausted so I just put him in our bed. He slept for 5 hours so I got twice the sleep from the night before.

DS1 woke up and came into our bed after DH got up for work and I thought he was asleep in our bed. Then he jumped up and starting shaking the stairgate. So I had to get up.

I hope you are all ok.

NatalieJane · 23/01/2009 08:00

Morning

My BFC had one of those knitted breasts to show us how to hand express with DS2

I am failing miserably at the photos, problem is, since my contract changed I don't get any picture messages included on my phone, and I'm too tight to pay for them, I keep forgetting to get DH to send a few over, and if I use the photos off the camera, I have to re-size them, and that is far to complicated for me! We are taking him to a photographers tomorrow, so maybe that will get me to engage my brain cells?!

LB, glad the MW went well, and hope you're not feeling sick still. They can (and will) induce for social reasons, if you really feel strongly about it next time you see her, put your foot down and ask to see the cons.

Kay, glad you got some sleep, we went to bed at 11, I was up at 12, 3 and 5 (and not been back to sleep) so after last nights staring at him for stupid amount of time, I am pretty much wiped out!

Am braving town today, wish us luck - we're gonna need it!

NatalieJane · 23/01/2009 08:29

Oh just remembered from last night, Ast/Diege, the full and final answer to the question of me having another one is:

no fucking way! As beautiful as he is, and as much as I am loving these first few precious weeks, that pregnancy was enough to put anyone off for life, and in fact DH has already booked a GP appointment for Wednesday to see about the snip!

Cosmogirl · 23/01/2009 08:38

Morning all,

Nat - don't blame you for stopping at three! Not sure if I can go through this again after one! But, we shall see if pregnancy amnesia works its magic.

Thank goodness it is finally Friday - I am so ready for the weekend now.... Looking forward to updating my Mat leave countdown on Monday morning ....Laptop is telling me 67 days until my due date today - ekk! Suddenly seems quite soon....am more looking forward to it than scared though - I think anyway....

Hope things are ok for you today LB. You are so nearly there so try and focus on that if you can.

Right, best get going to work. It is so rainy and miserable today I can't really be arsed to even leave the house!

Cosmogirl · 23/01/2009 08:39

Ps. those knitted boobies are hilarious! I want some to hang on my wall!

Cosmogirl · 23/01/2009 08:42

Oh sorry, just another quick one before I leave - Tink, any chance you could put a pic of Bracken on your MN profile at some point? I left FB a while ago so haven't seen a pic and would love to...Right, really going now.

Diege · 23/01/2009 09:02

Morning! LOL at knitted boobies Can see how they might be useful though.
Wow NAT dh booked in for snip appointment already...good going girl It's good that you feel secure in your choice though, although you are very young...
LB, sorry you're feeling so rough. NAT is right, even though they don't shout it from the rooftops, they do induce for social reasons, so if there's no improvement I'd go back. Hoping things are better with dh now?
Hope work is OK COSMO! HOw's the sickness now?
NAT, good luck in town! Any shopping plans or just a mooch?
At home with dd3 today, and Jingles class has moved to afternoon, so not the mad dash we're used to. Payday today (phew!) and have had a decent payrise too, so time to book my spa weekend while it's still in my account!
Hope everyone is well

tinkhashertinklet · 23/01/2009 09:08

morning

breasts feel abit less painful today had frozen sweetcorn on them last nite helped.
feeding is going gr8 she is now having 2ozs every 2-3 hours.
have midwife coming today to weigh her.
she is a rite piggy wig.
gr8 news on hv nat
gr8 news about mw diege
i would definetly not have anymore either not after that birth!!

tinkhashertinklet · 23/01/2009 09:10

have put one on cosmo

NatalieJane · 23/01/2009 09:15

It is cold blowy and wet here as well Cosmo, still at least it isn't snowing/icey, it scares the life out of me coming down the hill from school with Mikey in the sling when it's icey!

Diege, yep, he isn't 100% he is going to do it yet, but he is looking into it. He isn't scared or worried about the pain, or feeling 'less of a man' oh no, all he's worried about is having to give the samples - wuss! He has just seen me give birth for the third time, in a room full of strangers, and he is worried about that?!! And I might be young, but he isn't as young, and we are absolutely certain that there is never to be a number four, snip or no snip. Main reason for going to town is because mum sent an envelope with a load of cards and money in for Mikey, didn't send it recorded, didn't put enough postage on it, so I paid the fee last Thursday and it's still not been delivered, tried ringing the sorting office but you can't talk to them direct anymore, it's just an 0845 number, so now I have to traipse all the way there, probably to be told they've lost it.... other reason for going is that my jeans are all too big and LOL Have lost more weight already than I did the whole 11 months of BF'ing DS2, and I'm now officially smaller than I was before getting pregnant with Mikey! (Though to be fair, I was bigger than my 'norm' when I got pregnant with him!)

Phew that was a long one! Happy spa booking!

Diege · 23/01/2009 09:17

Hi TINKS!! Great to hear from you and to read that Bracken is doing so well I remember the milk thing very well - so painful, and temoting to squeeze a bit out for relief! Very naughty I know but I got some tablets to dry up milk from chemists, that I know are very much frowned on by almost everyone (midwife freaked when I told her)but did the trick
Right, I must get dressed - feeling very lazy today, but have so much to do including getting some bits on e-bay.

NatalieJane · 23/01/2009 09:20

Morning Tink

Actually, I think the never giving birth again is the only reason I would question having another! Yes I am a mad woman addicted to giving birth.... though after only an hour and 15 mins last time, not sure it would be worth it!

Right I am going to feed Mikey, and get gone into town before the weather gets any worse.
