Off to bed now so Happy New Year to all!!! Think how many babies we'll have on the wagon by this time next year!

kayzr · 01/01/2009 06:41

I was up at 12. I was planning on being in bed but DS2 had other ideas!!

I've been awake since quarter to 5. I'm down here with the boys and DH is in bed. It really upsets me and pisses me off. But no matter how much I talk to him about it he says he will stop doing it, he still does it.

Anyway here is to a great 2009 for the wagon!!!

Morning

Happy new year everyone, and what an exciting one it will be?

Haven't really read everything properly but it sounds like you've all had a good xmas week, Ses, glad your scan went so well - great picture!

Kooky, another huge congrats to you, a lovely way to start the new year I had a text from LaTour a few days ago, everything seems fine, they have been here there and everywhere with family over the xmas period so that's why she hasn't been able to post.

Sorry if I've missed anything important, have only really scanned through quickly.

Mikey was weighed for the first time since being born yesterday, he has only lost 3oz so is doing really well, his cord came off on Tuesday - 3 days old, I remember being a bit shocked when DS2's came off when he was 5 days old, but when Mikey's came off, I stood there looking at his little stumpy belly button thinking LOL He is a bit jaundiced, nothing major just what is expected, so apart from that he is all well I am still on the wrong end of the health boat, MW thinks I have pleurisy, docs not open till tomorrow, so we are on a waiting game.

Had our first proper bad night sleep wise last night, milk came in properly yesterday so he did the all night feeding thing, and waking up to find DS1 and 2 'cleaning' (i.e. making a right bloody mess) on their newly painted bedroom walls with a whole packet of baby wipes was the last thing we needed! I haven't even gone and inspected the damage properly yet, thought I might just throttle DS1 if I did!

I will get DH to sort out a picture as soon as he gets a minute, he is being so good, apart from feeding Mikey I am being waited on hand and foot, he has completely taken over everything else, bless him

Right, spose I'd best go get a shower, lots of love xxx

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 01/01/2009 11:18

Morning!

Tink - LOL at having a baby this month as when I woke up I was suffering from excitement and shock at having a baby this year! 38 weeks though

Kay - maybe your DH needs to think about a new year resolution??

We were up til nearly 2am so taking it easy today. Nothing planned til 5pm when we're taking ILs to pub for meal with my parents.

Decided I'm definitely feeling movements now and baby has been quite active in last 24 hrs!

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 01/01/2009 11:22

Morning NJ - xposted!
Great to hear from you and glad that Mikey is doing so well and your DH sounds a star!
Sorry you're still not 100%. Hope it gets sorted and shifts soon.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 01/01/2009 11:26

Happy New year wagoners!!! hope 2009 is a happy and healthy one for all of us!!

I text LaTour this morning but no reply as yet...

I ended up being awake at midnight... Was watching The Fast and The Furious on ITV2+1 and it finished at 12.10pm so i was still awake- it'd have been too rude to fall asleep with the gorgeous Vin Diesel on the TV!! DH decided to fall asleep at 11.30ish but i woke him at midnight and we saw the new year in with a GOF ...

Kay- DH is a store manager for Maplin Electronics, He's on a salary and then also has a good commision bonus if he hits targets each quarter, there's a possible £1.5k bonus (before damn tax man gets his mits on it) up for grabs each quarter... he got last bonus in september, but that went on fixing the boiler and buying a new hoover amongst other things!! This next one will be taking the gas fire out of the living room and fixing a ?? cyphen ?? in the toilet so it flushes easier, then we should still have about £1k left of this one as our first chunk of holiday funds. Then hopefully he'll also get Easter bonus so we'll have another £1k (or more if we dont treat ourselves or need to fix something else in the house) towards the holiday.... and we've worked out we can easily save £100 a month just from our normal spending so we're on a massive mission to raise holiday money!! hopefully if DH can get all the bonus's available before our holiday we'll have about double what we need for the whole holiday and then we can think about converting the house to a 3 bedroom then!! Can do a lot of the work ourselves with the help of family, so it shouldn't cost much more than about £4k in total!!

Cosmo- the non-alcoholic pear cider i got from tesco online... i can never find it instore so when i did my big xmas shop online i ordered some... i typed it in the search bar and it came up... its Kopperberg (i think thats how its spelt) and it's about £1.30 for a 500ml bottle... it tastes like pop though so i can drink loads- good job it is non-alcoholic!!

Cosmogirl · 01/01/2009 11:34

Morning all,

Happy New Year! Thanks re: cider Glask - I love Kopperberg, so off to check if Tesco online delivers to our postcode!

Nat - sorry to hear you are still under the weather.

Feeling really tired today - only just got up......

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 01/01/2009 11:47

i seriously x-posted with nat and ses there.... nice to 'see' you both!! didn't even notice till i checked back just now!!

Ses- good to hear you know its movements now- i'm starting to be kept awake by a little princess deciding its playtime when i've decided its bedtime!!

Nat- sorry to hear your still not 100% but you sound happy enough with how your pregressing and how mikey is doing which is all good signs!!

lastboxoftampons · 01/01/2009 13:56

Hello everyone! HAPPY NEW YEAR!! grin
DH and I flaked out last night - our last New Year where we might actually be able to go out and do something and we stayed in on our own! blush We did have some lovely food though and it was nice to not have to fight the crowds - not to mention the cold! 2 below - BRRRRR!

tinkwantsherbaby · 01/01/2009 15:57

hi all

great to hear from you nat
sorry that u still arent feeling 2 well.
i am 38 weeks today.
i am having period type cramps and keep going to the poo (it is normal though)
not sure if this means anything

kayzr · 01/01/2009 17:57

ARGHHHHHHHH!!

Bloody MIL!!!! We were meant to be going there today as DH's Aunt and Uncle are here for a few days. She rang this morning saying they were going to Whitby and would come round when they came home. Still no sign of them, so we have stayed in all day for no reason. Also if they come after DS1 has gone to bed I'll get moaned at for putting him to bed.

Argh

LaSparklyTourEiffel · 01/01/2009 18:22

Hi all, sorry I've been away so much, I've got no internet connection at the IL's - and I've been here since Saturday.

Glask, for some reason your text didn't show up in my phone as being from you so have only just worked out who it was from!!

Happy New Year to you all and HUUUUGE congratulations to NJ and Kooky - what brilliant news from both of you.

I'm on CD2 today so hoping to start ttc again very soon - almost exactly a year from when I started last time round...in some respects I'm so very sad that I'm so far behind you all, I never imagined it would be like this but at the same time, I'm kind of quietly resigned to it and pleased that the New Year has arrived finally and hopefully, 2009 will be a much better year for me.

I can't stay on for long and have only been able to skip through - I'll be back on 'properly' next week in the evenings - its back to work for me on Monday. We go home on Saturday (can't come quick enough right now....)

A very happy new year to you all xxx

kayzr · 02/01/2009 08:42

Morning,

Well MIL never turned up. I was shattered yesterday and I didn't go for a sleep as when I did the other day, she moaned about me.

I should be going to see my Nan and Grandad tomorrow. Poor DH can't come though as he can't fit in the car!!! I really hope to be driving by this time next year or at least DH will be driving.

Hope everyone is ok.

tinkwantsherbaby · 02/01/2009 09:25

nat - great news about mikey
las - great to hear from you - will be an exciting year for you when you can start trying
kay - damn mil have a good day today.

i still feel really uncomfortable definetly something preapring tummy feels weird and have backache we are all off to tesco this morning .

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 02/01/2009 10:02

Morning

Ooooh Tink sounds like things are gearing up a bit You can't have her just yet though, give us a few more days to get settled down here so I can have some proper MN time to use up for your labour thread!

LaTour, hoorah for CD2 (or 3 by now - see how time flies?!!)

Kay, grrrrr at MIL, I can't believe she didn't even ring to let you know they couldn't make it, some people hey? For all she knows you could be getting really worried about her, anything could have happened, I believe houses falling and landing on witches would be my main concern...

I have the doctors this morning, MW this afternoon, some time in between that the boys need their hair cutting, DH took the tree and decs down yesterday so the living room needs putting back together and Mikey's things bringing down (swing/bouncy chair etc.) the piles of xmas presies need taking upstairs and putting away, and it is snowing! At least we had a better night sleep wise last night so am feeling more ready for a busy day.

Will be glad to get whatever is wrong with my ribs/lungs/whatever sorted though, painkillers help but once they wear off I am back to not being able to move or breathe properly, just can't wait to have just one day where nothing hurts or aches! Just to be back to normal, and as good a job as DH is doing, nothing feels right nothing is in the right place - photos, orniments, things on the kitchen side, things in the bathroom, they all have they're own little space, and none of it is right at the moment, but as much as I'm itching to put it all straight, I can't be bothered doing it It really isn't a moan at DH, he is doing brilliantly, just my own stupidities about which exact angle a photo should face, or what space should be between x and y on the counter top....

God I have missed MN, there is nowhere else on earth for my anal ramblings... just sorry for you lot having to put up with them!

Have a good weekend everyone if I don't get back, though am still trying to get a photo up so if I get chance I will be xxx

kayzr · 02/01/2009 10:17

Nat, how did you guess that is the nickname I have given MIL? DH's aunt and uncle are quite similar to her and I did think yesterday they could be those flying monkey's.

Hope you get better soon, hopefully now they know what is wrong with you they should be able to make you better.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 02/01/2009 10:24

ooh tink- that does sound promising!!! Hope your waters dont go in tesco- take it easy if your feeling 'changes'....

Nat- good to see you back on a bit more!! The wagon is so quiet without you!!

LaTour- wierd about my text not coming up as me!! exiting stuff you'll be ttc soon!! got everything crossed for you!!

Kayz- MIL sounds such anightmare.... i expect my step-MIL would be like that if we saw more of her.... i'm so glad we dont see them really!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 02/01/2009 11:25

its way too quiet on here!!! How am i supposed to escape from the washing pile or the pots on the side when no-ones about

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 02/01/2009 11:48

Morning! Bit of a slow start here with dd1 poorly and curled up in our bed, and dh just heading out now for first day back..
Good to hear that you had a better night NAT; my theory is that they throw you the odd unbroken 6 hour stretch from time to time as a survival mechanism (ie, to ensure they don't get thrown out of the window). I remember reading quite a funny novel a while ago written from the point of view of a newborn, where they would get a signal from the baby 'mothership' when they were pushing it! BTW re your illness, that does sound a bit like pleurisy; an ex of mine used to get it every winter, but there are some good drugs that you'll be able to take now you're not pregnant that should get you sorted.
KAYZ, what a nightmare situation with your MIL . Did you ever get an explanantion? How rude of her.
Morning GLASK! Know what you mean about the washing front - just about getting through it here, though pots are now taking over. Managed to change all the bedding yesterday, so of course have sheets etc to sort out. I think we could really do with a drier!
TINKS - sounding hopeful for you! If anyone's waters break in Tescos it will be your's . Right next to the Whispas I'd guess .
Great to hear from you LATOUR - you deserve a good 2009 I'd say. Will be keeping everything crossed for you, and hoping to see a HONK in the not too distant future .
Right, I have dd2 demanding to go on the computer - the mini-boden spring/summer preview site of all things...she is her mother's daughter!

tinkwantsherbaby · 02/01/2009 13:53

hi

waters still in tact here
hoping it does mean something

nat - good luck with drs and midwife
i am going to blitz house in a min 2
everything seems upside down and in the wrong place

diege - hope that dd1 gets better

Starshinetiger · 02/01/2009 14:50

Happy New Year All!
Good to see you online again so quick Nat - hope Doc has been able to prescribe something today.
Meant to get on yesterday and had a quick review, but no time for actual posting (well, I did have a nap in the afternoon )
Kayz - sorry for MIL, she sounds the pits. Hope DH got up for boys this morning. I totally sympathise, as I remember how annoyed I used to get when DS was a baby and I would always be the one up in the mornings and get upset and angry because DH was asleep - can only imagine it must be worse with 2. Think it is part and parcel of bfing, but remember the time will fly by and hopefully DH can let you nap during the day - sod MIL, mothers of newborns are instructed to nap when the baby does - it's written in everything I've ever read!
Diege - LOL at your DD2 and her internet shopping, v. cute!
Tink - getting very excited for you, does all sound promising - though I reckon Next is a far more likely place for your waters to go !
LaTour - sending you lots of good wishes for 2009 and a honk in the near future! Really, really sending good vibes your way.
Glas - you beat me to it, I thought I might be the first to use GOF in 2009, as DH and I welcomed the new year in that way yesterday am !!
Went to a play warehouse near us for the first time today (probably should be embarrassed that it's the first time and DS is 2.3, but childminder normally does that sort of thing with him during week) - DS LOVED it! He said on the way home - Mummy, that was fun [proud mummy emoticon]!
Supposed to be tidying and sorting right now, but am on MN instead - some things haven't changed in 2009.
Shall hope to be around to post more this year - am so excited to only have 6 weeks left in work.
Here's to a fantastic 2009 for us all! (and maybe a few less exclamation marks from me?! )
