Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
GruffaloSoldier · 30/12/2008 13:00

Hi all

Quick post again - dont worry Ses, at my 20 week scan head measurements were the highest they could be on the line thing - eek and the others were close underneath. Not what you want to hear!

Tink - not long now - the wagon is really rolling now

Sorry i have just scanned through again!

Im still in scotland. My sister and her family are arriving tonight and Im so excited as it will be christmas all over agian. there are loads of presents under the tree woo!

This will be our 3rd 'christmas' since 25th Dec! I am such a kid

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 30/12/2008 13:44

KAY, I would definitiely prefer a lost voice than a sore throat, though can see the disadvantages!
GRUFF, it sounds very exciting having a second christmas! Enjoy yourself .

Have had my first buccastem tablet about half an hour ago - very odd having it under my lip, and it tastes disgusting, but hey if it stops the sickness!!! Feel reassured now that I'm in the second trimester, and could really get into it if it works!!
Off to Chester now I think - can't wait for my bed tonight after staying up last night to watch superman

tinkwantsherbaby · 30/12/2008 14:22

cosmo - mostly exciting we cant wait to met her now and dd is talking about her lots
no diege not long, ye for snow
kay- that is great news

tinkwantsherbaby · 30/12/2008 14:24

i went to next sale again my money had gone in so i spent lots again bought myself pink slippers with flowers on for birthing bag.
got baby cute pink cardy. got dd a fleece jumper white with flowers, greay hooded top cardy with blue flowers on, a little miss trouble top and an angel top.
dds pink shelf arrived is up now only waiting for another pink shelf from vertbaudet and butterfly light shade

tinkwantsherbaby · 30/12/2008 14:25

we are off to an indoor activity centre now for dd and i can sit with a hot chocolate and watch her with dh playing

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 30/12/2008 16:01

tink - hot chocolate sounds good! Enjoy
Good shopping too - I'm going near a Next tomorrow on a store visit so may have to pop in!

I'm just back from seeing consultants. They want to put my thyroxine dose up again!! My BP was ok at 122/56 and they listened to baby's HB and was 145bpm. They asked me to go back in 4 weeks but when I saw the receptionist to make the appointment, they didn't have one for 8 weeks!!!!???!

PIL are here and all ok. FIL doesn't do travelling v well as he has an artificial leg. Also he'd never left Ireland until he came over for our wedding in 2006!

Hope everyone else is ok

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 30/12/2008 16:06

afternoon all.... sorry i didn't get back on again yesterday, my pelvis is getting worse and worse... its in constant pain now, and worse in an afternoon (as i'm doing all my housework in a morning now so i can rest in an afternoon)... it felt so weak yesterday and this morning that i swear it felt like just walking would shatter it!! A week today and i see the MW... had my surestart midwife phone this morning and she asked how i was, i told her hyperemesis has sorted itself now, but pelvis is killing me, she said it'll get seen to by MW so not to worry too much.

DIEGE- haven't ever suffered from thrush but doesn't sound good.... not on top of the sickness... if yours is like mine though (and it does sound it) then hopefully after the 20wk point it should pick-up dramatically!! fingers crossed eh!!

Tink- shopping sounds great!! I wish i'd remembered the next sale, spent all my money in the local wollies when it was closing!! think my best bargain out of the whole lot though has to be the Nursery Rhyme CD i got for the DC's, a 3pack and it cost 12p!!!!

I got one of my Verbaudet orders the other day... was one of the sleeping bag's i'd ordered. Hopefully the rest will come over the next few weeks!!

I'm soooooo tired.... think my body is going into the last trimester tiredness early!!

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 30/12/2008 19:41

GLASK, I would take thrush over pelvic pain anyday...sounds horrendous . You'll feel like a new woman by the time the baby is born .
SES, that's a pain about the appointment - same happens here, so have my 16 week midwife appointment several weeks after. Your blood pressure sounds excellent, and that's a nice 'boy' heartbeat you have there .
TINK, hope the playbarn was as relaxing as it sounded; I think you will be back and forth to that Next sale until it's finished
Had a nice afternoon in Chester, though was freezing. Went to M&S and bought some bedding [yawn] and then on to Zizzi's which was lovely - actually felt like eating too which was a bonus! Off for evening now, so speak tomorrow

tinkwantsherbaby · 31/12/2008 09:46

morning

is this suitable for a 3.5 year old or 2 babyish

www.vertbaudet.co.uk/baby-nursery-maternity-clothes/Baby-Girls-BUTTERFLY-Duvet-cover.aspx?ProductId= V704023140&DocumentId=V389&CompanyId=V&source=4

i am off 2 tesco in am min for nibbles for tonite

Starshinetiger · 31/12/2008 10:10

I don't have a 3.5 year old girl, but I absolutely think this would be fine! It's really cute.
My own view on bedding is to get plain (rather than patterned) so that it can adapt to different decor over the years - but then if you saw how much Thomas the Tank Engine stuff DS got for Christmas (blanket, beanbag cover, wall stickers, storage box....) you'd realise that the last thing he needs is a Thomas duvet set!!
Do think the duvet set is gorgeous though.
Hope you got your nibbles at Tescos.

tinkwantsherbaby · 31/12/2008 10:15

cheers star.

dd has plain green walls
have just done it up in a butterfly theme has 2 butterfly pictures, green and pink shelving, pink butterfly lamp shade.
her current covers are both white one has polka dots and one has ballerinas on.

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 31/12/2008 10:45

Morning! TINKS I agree with STAR , that's a lovely set and not too babyish at all I'd say. My 6 year old would love it!
Nothing much planned for today - very foggy here and going out doesn't seem to appeal! Had a disaster this morning with dd2 playing around with remmote and now the freeview box isn't working so limited tv [gulp].May get going again on e-bay today, after months off - had forgotten how much I appreciate the extra pennies!
Hope everyone has a good new year's eve - staying in as usual, so hope we can get the tv fixed!!!

kayzr · 31/12/2008 12:21

Morning,

Its freezing here!!!!

We went to the train station earlier so DS1 could see the train. When it left he started to cry. I felt so sorry for him as he was just so sad it had gone.

Tink, thats lovely!!!!

Still got no voice but not feeling as ill.

Not going out here either, I'll probably be in bed before 12!!

Happy New Year everyone!!

Starshinetiger · 31/12/2008 12:29

Can you tell I'm bored at work - 2 posts in one morning!
Diege - sorry for TV, fingers crossed you get it working again - have you switched it off at the socket and back on again - isn't that what the techies always tell you to do!
Kayz, glad you're not feeling as ill, but sorry for no voice.
Is freezing here too - DH and DS are tucked up at home, having had a walk round the block, but decided that's quite enough fresh air!
No going out for us either. Probably just a chilled evening in front of telly and bed before 12 too - what an exciting life we lead.
Kayz - how is the Phil & Ted's? Have you had chance to use it with the 2 boys yet? Thinking of going pushchair shopping on Friday - everyone on March thread is talking about what they've bought, think I'm so lulled into thinking we have it all from last time round that I'll end up shopping at last minute
V. excited for you now Tink - 2 weeks to go, could happen any time.
My RL friend whose DS is 10 days younger than our DS is having planned CS tomorrow -very exciting!

2beautifulgalsandasnowglobe · 31/12/2008 12:40

Happy new year everyone

Feeling so much better, after a few days in bed

What have i missed? No more arrivals?

Freezing here too Kay, very forsty outside this morning. How is Dylan? Glad your feeling slightly better even with no voice.

Tink, how are you? The queen of shopping, i really don't know how you do it. Wanted to brave next yesterday or today but just haven't the energy and that is at 20 weeks!!

Diege hope you get the telly sorted, not that there has been anything decent on to watch lately. Except hollyoakes, i have to admit that is mine and DH's fave programme

Ses- great scan picture, mmine on Monday, getting excited, don't want to find out the flavour, DH does. Think if we find out can't take it back but if in future we want to know we can

So the babe has been doing aerobics i swear, very very active and yesterday i even shouted out in pain as it prodded me really hard and sharp with an elbow or something. Think its a big one!!!

So 20 weeks yesterday until i'm due and 26 weeks until we emigrate!!!!!!!!!!![hmmm] i'm getting nervous now interview on the 14th then packing and moving to organise. Sure the time is going to fly.

when do you all take your tree down? Want to take mine down but feel a little scrooge like and its a big job as have to sort through decs and get rid of ones we no longer want to keep or take with us and other will need to be wrapped and boxed up.

DH at work and me and DD's aren't even dressed! Think i may organise some clothes as we will still be in jammies when DH arrives home at 7pm. Staying in tonight with snacks and coke.

Forgot to say we watch the new Will Smith movie last night seven pounds, very good.

2beautifulgalsandasnowglobe · 31/12/2008 12:42

Oh yeah NJ if you read this, what was in your 2 big boxes from your mum? I have been wondering for the past few days? Just being nosey

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 31/12/2008 12:59

Glad you're feeling a bit better KAY. Very sweet ds crying at train leaving!
STAR, lol at turning tv on and off at the wall; that's exactly what I said to dh when he told me When do you finish work today? I don't know anyone who has to go back yet - have managed to spin my leave out until Tues .
2BG, good luck with the scan on Monday . Sounds like you have an active bean in there, which I think is always reassuring health-wise. I've been feeling flickers from 10 weeks or so, though not so much during past few weeks. Still feel 4 to 5 kicks/pops a day, but think me having an anterior placenta might effect how 'clear' the kicks feel if that makes sense? Just 15 weeks though, so plenty of time for it to move! Agree, itching to take tree down - think traditinally it's 12th night when they come down?? Is that 6th Jan or am I making it up? Seems late!

tinkwantsherbaby · 31/12/2008 13:01

hi

mite get that one then just have to check measurements of her exsiting duvet covers
yep anytime star will be glad when we have her
it is freezing popped to tesco just needed a few bits
we are taking our tree down on sunday the 4/mon the 5th

lardybump · 31/12/2008 13:23

Afternoon everyone just wanted to pop on and say happy new year to you all. I wont be on again until 2009.

I also have SPD glask so I know how you feel..... We are staying in tonight and have friends over!! Hope you all have a lovely evening and I will catch up with you all next week.

Starshinetiger · 31/12/2008 13:29

Ooh, good luck for Monday scan 2bg. Didn't realise you are emigrating 6 weeks after baby due! Am in awe - am sure it will be fine though, young babies travel much better than older children. Good luck with the packing though!

Think should probably be able to leave work in next couple of hours. I don't mind being in for a couple of days this week as it means I can start mat leave earlier by taking hols - after today only have 6 weeks (that's 30 days) at work before mat leave and 3 of those days are on courses - yippee!! Only downside is that I have to get some coursework done to post off by monday - boo - serves me right for being a procrastinator and not doing it earlier! - procrastination, not like me at all

Right, better get a bit of work done before I head off I s'pose!

Happy New Year all - have a lovely evening with your OHs and DCs, I shall no doubt not be back on today once I leave work.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 31/12/2008 15:21

Afternoon all!!

We've decided we're spending DH's bonus money on a holiday to disneyland Paris with the DC's in Sept/Oct 09!!! How exiting, our first real holiday!!! we have £40 saved already (just from what we saved on food shopping today), and DH's £1000 bonus to go in the pot on payday!! its really going to happen!! Hopefully he'll get easter bonus too, and any money from ebay selling etc will be going straight into the holiday pot... and we'll put money aside each week/month at the end of payday etc... hopefully we'll be able to raise a good £3k or so to be able to do the lot!!

We went to my sisters earlier, not seen it sicne it's been decorated and carpetted etc and it looks pretty impressive.

Also got food shopping this morning, both fridge and freezer are full to the brim and it feels good to have it that way!!

I'm making Enchiladas or Quesiladas (can't decide which) tonight for tea and i can't wait!! Then it'll be nibbles and some of my non-alcoholic pear cider i think... DH will ahve a couple of beers no doubt, but i'm sure we'll be in bed by about 10.30 anyway!! Haven't seen the new year in preoperly in the last 5 years!! how bad is that??!!

kayzr · 31/12/2008 16:58

Hello,

Star, We use the pushchair all the time. It is brilliant and you have to get one!!!! The baby is kept really warm and cosy underneath. Also no one knows the baby is there so you can have fun confusing people.

Yay for Disneyland Glask!! Sounds great. We want to take the boys when they are a bit older. What does DH do? I want a £1000 bonus!!

2BG, I'm sure you have said but where in America are you moving to? DH was meant to be taking our tree down yesterday and today but its still up. Our new bookcase has arrived so I want to sort out all our dvds and cds that go on it but I can't until the tree has gone and the bookcase has been made.

Cosmogirl · 31/12/2008 17:18

Happy New Year everyone! Am knackered as spent all day cleaning out our study to make way for the baby's room. Hoovered and put the few baby bits we have in there and it looks cute - makes me want to go out shopping and get cot, chest of drawers etc etc... now! Going over to a house party at a friends house tonight so need to try and wake myself up and get dressed up....

Glask - non alcoholic pear cider sounds yummy. Where did you get it? Think I might have one sip of champagne tonight at 12 - but only a sip as I am designated driver.....again!

See you all next year - it is going to be an exciting one!C

tinkwantsherbaby · 31/12/2008 18:27

happy new year 2 all you ladies
eek that means not long

we are staying in with yummy nibbles and monopoly

kookykid · 31/12/2008 19:43

Just wanted to say Happy New Year everyone!! Don't go too wild will you? Think I'll be in bed by 9.00!

Has anyone heard from LaTour? (If you're lurking, I hope you're doing OK.)
