RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 03/01/2009 14:07

GLASK don't google!!!!!! We know out own bodies, and it sounds like these were def. bhs, so simply a case of telling dh over and over that there's no cause for concern. Does sound like you have a good one there I must say! Re: North meet-up, where would you be travelling from? I also don't drive but could easily get the train to anywhere in the Manchester region from Warrington - maybe we could all descend on Accrington, home of Nat?? Maybe if we throw around a few ideas over the next few weeks we can come up with a decent North meet-up place? Agree, would be very surreal

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 03/01/2009 14:17

I knew as soon as i saw the %'s that i shouldn't have googled, mainly becasue i know this isn't the starting of anything... just bloody painful BH!!

I'm coming from blackpool... my thoughts were if it were before DC3 arrived then i could get DH to drop me off and he could ahve the day with Dc's while i came to see you lot.... i'm only a 30min walk or 4min drive from blackpool north station, so can easily get to Manchester area.... anywhere else and i'm useless!!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 03/01/2009 14:58

Hello

Just a quicky (me? a quicky? yeah right!)

Teuch great to hear from you, glad all sounds well

So who will win? Tink or LG&T? Will it be a close photo finish?

Glask, really try not to worry about the BH, they do get worse with each pregnancy, remember your MW is there for a reason, if you have doubts then see her for reassurance.

Well, we had fun here again yesterday, went to docs in the morning, he frightened the life out of us by saying this lung/rib thing I have sounded like a blod clot in my lung, we were sent straight over to the hospital for a chest xray (via home to drop DS1 and 2 off with our very wonderful next door neighbour, doc went so far over the top, telling me he was going to be at the surgery till 6pm last night if we needed him, and that although he doesn't work on Mondays he wanted me back at the surgery on Monday for bloods and to see him especially. MW was due to do Mikey's home check at any time so we had to cancel her, she said to take him tot he post-natal ward after the xray to get his heel prick done. So we ended up back there, we told the MW what the doctor had said and about the xray, she decided she didn't want me leaving over the weekend and she'd get a doctor to check me over before we left, bearing in mind this was about 2pm, the doctor eventually came, took one lot of bloods from the inside of my elbow, and one from my wrist (I don't mind needles and stuff, but jeez that bloody hurts!) they sent me an ECG, did a physical exam, everything, finally got the all clear about 8 o'clock last night. They've said they can't be sure it isn't a PE because the scan that would be conclusive isn't good for the breast milk, but everything else they have tested shows no signs of a clot so they were happy to let me go, oh and for all of the doctor's over-reacting, a chest xray wouldn't have shown any clots anyway, so that was a waste of time!

So still don't know exactly what is causing the pain, but I think it is on the mend, I've not had any pain killers since last night and I can just about take a breath so that is better than mid-week!

Mikey's check went well, he has lost another 3oz, but is still within the 10% allowence and TBH, as long as he is feeding well and his nappies are fine (which they are) I couldn't care less about their 10%! He is still a bit jaundiced so they took some extra blood from him to test, but more as a precaution than anything else.

Ermmmmm, think that's it! So much for a quicky hey?! I can't believe I'm saying this but I am going to go and wake him up for a feed, he is a lazy little bugger!

Can't believe he is nearly a week old already, it seems to have passed in an instant.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 03/01/2009 15:01

Oh and, one more bit of earth shatteringly shocking news - we have a middle name for him at last, he is Michael Bradley Oliver

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 03/01/2009 15:13

Wow Nat- what an eventful day you had yesterday!! Loving the name- Very nice!!

I'm not getting BH's so regularly now... since lunch they have really calmed down, both in pain and frequency... hopefully they'll stop all together so i can get some darn sleep tonight!! it's my last 'lie-in' morning before Ds is back at nursery!!

Oh and i didn't mention but i started fully potty training DD on weds, and yesterday she didn't have a single accident all day... and none today so far either!! on weds we went to tesco and my sisters and only 2 accidents all day, thursday went to my parents and only one all day.... so i think we've cracked it!! brilliant timing for her being able to go to nursery and also in time for DD2's arrival!!

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 03/01/2009 16:09

Hi all!

Am at work today but just grabbing a sneaky catch up via my phone.

NJ - What a day you had at GP and hospital but glad things seem to be improving. FWIW I think Bradley works really well

Glask - BH sound awful. Hope you don't end up suffering for another 12 weeks or so. Hope she stays put fairly quietly!

Diege - glad you're feeling better. Must be a relief for sickness to be improved. Hope ur still taking it easy though - meningitis can be draining.

Tink - I'm getting excited!

LG&T - doubly excited!

I had some bad news. A friend I was at uni with was killed last weekend. She was on hols in central America and went white water rafting. She got knocked off and drowned. All v sad. Her dad's gone out to bring her home. Tbh I hadn't really seen her in years but it's just so unexpected and shocking. Her poor family

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 03/01/2009 16:34

Gosh Nat glad you're OK - all sounds very dramatic, but tis better for you to get checked over properly than for something serious to have happened. Here's hoping you're on the mend. Love Bradley btw!
GLASK, good going on the potty training. How old is dd? I ask because I am in the shameful situation of dd3 being 3 and still in nappies . I must try again, but tbh haven't felt up to it these past few months. I szuppose I could claim to be a lentil-weaver and say I am practicing baby-led potty training, but no I am just lazy . Manchester would be good for me btw, and yes we should do it before your next dd comes along!
So sorry about your friend SES . That must be a real shock; you just don't think that things like that happen to people you know. Hope you're OK xx

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 03/01/2009 16:51

Ses- very sad news about your friend... its odd when you've not seen someone in so long... and when you get news like that it seems to hit you more i think... i felt like that with my last 2 relatives that passed away, i'd not seen either of them in a good few years but they had once been a big part of my life... was very sad.

Diege- DD will be 3 in april... so she's currently just under 2.9yo... DS was just turned 2 when he was fully potty trained (though he was always very dry from about 12mths)... and i have been 'trying' DD since she was about 2.2yo, but she just wasn't ready at all.. she had her first wee in the potty the day i got my BFP, and have tried her on and off since then but nothing... when i was really sick i just couldn't be bothered and now i'm getting a bit better, or at least able to stay downstairs more now i'm not being sick i can cope better so thoguht i'd give it a go... seems she's cracked it!! still no accidents today, and i haven't once asked her if she needs to go, she's just been going on her own, pulling her pants down herself, wiping herself and then shouting me to say she's been!! I'm very happy with her progress!!

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 03/01/2009 16:58

Aw your dd sounds very cute GLASK! We picked out the pants, potty etc a while ago, but she has showed no interest whatsoever, and they've tried at nursery too . Still, she was only 3 in Nov so time yet I hope! Goodness knows how long no.4 will take!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 03/01/2009 17:06

do you just have one potty? we have a potty in the living room and one in the bathroom, DD enjoys 'watching' us all go to the toilet... DH was very unsure of if it was 'right' at first but i said she's only interested in the weeing in the toilet bit, nothing about wanting to see daddies willy or anything... so now when DS goes to the toilet she'll go up with him and watch, she also has hers to sit on if she needs a wee too. She doesn't like the toilet trainer seats though, so has to be supervised if using adult toilets... and she's also too small to climb up alone even with her step!! poor little thing with her tiddly legs, luckily when she's at nursery their toilets are tiny ones!!

I used the 'gina ford- potty training in a week' book as a guideline with DS and i have to say i didn't follow it exactly but roughly, and i swear by it!! Followed the same route with DD too, and it seems to be working again. I swore she'd be potty trained before DC3 arrived, and looks like she'll be well and truely done!!

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 03/01/2009 17:22

Yep, just the one, though see the logic of having one in upstairs bathroom too. I think because dd3 is at nursery 4 days a week (and they try to get them using the teeny toilets they have) I've been sitting her on the toilet upstairs before a bath etc, but may well get another potty as insurance. She knows that she can't start ballet until she's out of nappies, and seems keen, but then she'll sit on the potty and exclaim 'done one!' when there's nothing there I was so good with dds 1&2, (followed ther GF book too, v.good),
Arghh just heard the car so they are back!
Speak later

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 03/01/2009 17:41

yeah i'd reccomend just a cheapy one for the bathroom, just so she has her own in there IYGWIM... we also have one in the DC's bedroom as they sometimes strip PJ's and nappies off before they are loud enough to wake us, and that means there's no 'accidents' in the bed or anything... and i also have a tommy tippee pottete thing to carry about and for in the car but haven't used it yet with DD, need some more liners though. also have a 'wetec' potty training pad which goes in the carseat/buggy when we go out, and some plastic pants which go over knickers for car trips 'just-in-case'....

most of these things we have still from when we did DS... but i found them invaluable!!

tinkwantsherbaby · 03/01/2009 18:09

NatalieJane · 03/01/2009 18:26

Ses, so sorry about your friend, it is so sad when it's so out of the blue like that.

Glas, agree with Tink, sounds like you've got a very quick learner there!

Tink, what a bargain!

OK, I think there is a picture on my profile, and I think I've managed to move my profile to my new/old name! You'll have to excuse the colours on it, it was taken in crappy light, with a mobile (can't resize pics from the camera, well you can, but I don't know how to do it, t'is far too far over my head!)

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 03/01/2009 18:53

kayzr · 03/01/2009 20:31

Ses, I am really sorry about your friend.

Glask, DO NOT GOOGLE!!!!!!!!

I can get to Manchester easily!!!! So count me in!!!

Here is our pub/hotel!!!

Had a lovely day today. DS1 was being a huge show off. But it was lovely to see my grandparents.

LaTourEiffel · 04/01/2009 08:09

Hello all! I'm back in the land of broadband! Hurrah!!!

Although I am also in the middle of a milk crisis so just off out to try and find somewhere open that sells the white stuff and if I'm lucky, a slice of bread or two .... I will try and catch up later, but if not today, then def. tomorrow evening

NJ, photo is lovely very smoochable!

Ses, congrats on your scan, its a great picture and KK, I know it must be scary but try to stay as chilled as possible and enjoy these first weeks when its your little secret

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 04/01/2009 08:20

Morning!

NJ - love the piccie! Makes me want to pick him up out of the screen and give him a cuddle! Also think Bradley works really well.

Kay - took a sneaky look at ur photobox piccies too! I think I'm feeling a bit impatient now for one of my own!

Love 'our' hotel. Maybe we should try and have one big meet up there?! I mean they did name it for us didn't they?...

Tink - am getting more and more excited for you!

LG&T - ooh even more excitement!

Thanks for everyone's nice comments about my friend. It just seems so unreal that I feel I have to keep thinking about it so it will sink in. Life is so precious and yet fragile.

Last full day of ILs today - they go home tomorrow. It's been ok except for feeding them and also their (lovely) Irish accents are so strong that I do struggle to understand them sometimes - especially FIL!

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 04/01/2009 08:24

oops - xposted there LaTour! Morning!
Good to have you back.
Thanks for scan congrats. What with that and my ever growing belly and a few movements, I think I really do believe I'm pg!
22 weeks today!

tinkwantsherbaby · 04/01/2009 08:41

morning

nat he is gorgeous cuddle coming over

hi to everyone else

i am off to adams @ 10am and then we are having lunch @ our pub

i am 38.5 weeks today

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 04/01/2009 10:15

morning ladies... DH is off today, got to run a few arrands this afternoon, and DD was up countless times through the night!! DH got up and let me stay in bed till nearly 9am when i woke on my own!! First time ever i think!! but at the same time he'd had to do a lot of the night-time visits to check on her as my pelvis was in agony!! I was still woken up though and actually took longer than him to get back to sleep becasue each time i woke up i'd either get tightenings or she'd be dancing about in there!!

Prob wont be about too much today, only really came on to check my ebay listing!!

kayzr · 04/01/2009 11:02

Hehe!!!

I have just found this in my favourites. I am so tempted to get DS2 one!!!

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 04/01/2009 11:49

Morning! (just). Not been up long as I seem to be developing the dreaded pregnancy insomnia. Fell asleep in front of telly for about 5 mins at 9ish last night, so headed up stairs and couldn't get sleep until gone 2. dh let me sleep in this morning, and kept falling back to sleep until gone 10 . Goodness knows how I'm going to manage the 6.30am start on Tuesday!
Really gorgeous piccy NAT - what a little cutie you've got there!
Bet you'll be pleased to have your house back to yourself SES, I know I would! Sounds like the IL trip went well though
Hello to all, and hope everyone enjoys the last 'official' day of the christmas hols!
Oh and 16 weeks today!

Cosmogirl · 04/01/2009 12:28

Afternoon all,

Thanks for posting a pic of Mikey, Nat. He looks so adorable. Makes the fact that I am having a baby all the more real when I see pics of the wagoner babies . Sounds odd I guess, but still doesn't feel like it will happen for me somehow....Guess that is a first time mum thing.

Going to Ask for lunch today with some friends but feeling really nauseous at the moment, so hopefully it will settle. Am dreading work tomorrow - starting to understand why they let you start mat leave at 29 weeks, now that I am in the 28th week. Starting to feel more pregnant and uncomfortable by the day plus the nausea doesn't seem to ease which is an added strain. Oh dear that somehow turned into a moan - sorry! Hope everyone has good days.
