You know the Meningitis glass test if the spots fade but don't completely disappear thats ok isn't it?

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 14/01/2009 13:15

You may all think I'm too fussy but what I'd like is:

  • light weight
  • 4 wheels
  • Converts for newborn to lie flat
  • pushchair so that baby can face towards me or away from me

LBOT - that looks quite good and it's purple!! (I'm reknowned for my love of purple!) May have to settle on a neutral colour though in case this is a boy.

Have to say, I'm starting to think I'm having a girl!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 14/01/2009 13:17

SES- [[http://www.mamasandpapas.co.uk/product-luna-pushchair-truffle/102189502/type-i/ here] is the luna, you can then choose to add the carseat and/or the carrycot and you can buy the matching baby bag, parasol, footmuffs etc... i'd reccomend having a day of pram shopping though, places like mothercare, babies R us, m&p etc and you'll be able to fold hem down and put them up, see all the accessories you could ahve to match etc, when i went out pram shopping for the holiday stroller it took nearly 5hrs and 4 pram shops to find the right one for me, and that was saying i knew everything i wanted and needed, and even knew most of what was on offer for me to use too!!

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 14/01/2009 13:20

Kay - I'm pretty sure that if the rash fades then you're ok. If it doesn't fade at all then you should follow it up. Who are you worried about?

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 14/01/2009 13:21

Other symptoms can include:

  • aversion to light
  • stiff neck
  • fever
  • drowsy / listless
  • no appetite
  • vomiting
glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 14/01/2009 13:22

i think if it fades then its ok....

ses- the luna cant face you once just using the pushchair, but the carseat can be used until 9mths ish and the carrycot till about 6mths i think...

Astarte · 14/01/2009 13:23

Crikey Kayz! Yes, you worry if they DON'T fade. As long as the fade you should be okay. Any other symptoms? Whose spots?

kayzr · 14/01/2009 13:23

DS1, he has a rash on the inside of his thighs. But he is fine and acting normal. It fades but doesn't completely disappear.

kayzr · 14/01/2009 13:24

LBOT that pushchair is lovely!!!

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 14/01/2009 13:24

Does seem pretty good other than that...

I really must go and do some work. I'll be lurking though...

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 14/01/2009 13:26

right i think i better go too- get the DC's a nap, and try and get one myself- i actually have bags under my eyes- i dont think i've ever had real bags under my eyes before!!

Hope all is Ok Kay- i'd say if it fades he should be ok, but do keep a very close eye on him for any other symptoms.

Astarte · 14/01/2009 13:28

I'm off too, might pop back on tonight to check on Tink.

kayzr · 14/01/2009 13:28

HV said it is probably because we have changed his nappies because there wasn't any of the normal ones.

Thank God, I can hardly breathe.

lastboxoftampons · 14/01/2009 13:31

Yes, Ses I wanted something that lies flat without an extra carrycot to buy. The I'coo converts into a pram with some extra fabric they give you. And I love that the whole thing is height adjustable - I always think that the Bugaboo attachments sit really low in the frame, especially the carseat, but also the carrycot. I also love the way the Britax Vigour looks, I just wish you didnt' have to get the carrycot to use it from birth.

The I'coo is a little bit heavier though - I think 10.5kg.

Listen to me - I've got 6 1/2 months to go and I've got a pram picked out!

kayzr · 14/01/2009 13:34

LBOT, I had DS1's picked before we started ttc!!

Cosmogirl · 14/01/2009 14:39

LBOT - we have bought the Britax Vigour 4 + in black. We have got the car seat and carrycot and pushchair for 300, which I think is pretty good. Plus we are prob going to use the carrycot as a moses basket too, so should get a lot of use out of it. It all clips together very simply and does look nice.

Anyone know best place to get stuff for hosp bag? Thought I'd do a mothercare order but looked online and maternity pads only in 6 pks?! Surely that is going to last a day....Was hoping I could just do an order and get everything from one place but isn't looking likely so far. Main things are gel pads for bra and knickers, maternity pads x loads, breast pas, lanisoh stuff.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 14/01/2009 14:42

was just checking my email and lurking- cosmo, i'm getting my maternity pads, breast pads, baby mislins and a breast pump from toys r us, they currently have a good sale on some of the things, i'm going instore to get them but you can order online.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 14/01/2009 14:45

Cosmo
Mothercare do a 48pk of regular mat pads, ive seen them in store and in the catalogue.

I just got stuff from sains with 1/3 off. 10pads for 65p and there was 3rd off other stuff like the nipple cream too. Worth a look.

The other bargain i found was M&S for big knickers. Their value range is 7pairs for a £5. But was buyone, get one 1/2 price so I have 14 pairs of huge black pants for £7.50. Bargain me thinks!
