Hi LBOT! I'm also starting to think about the families on 2 countries but actually Ireland is nothing to the States! We were saying the other day we'd try and do our first trip to Ireland with the baby in Sept/Oct. I guess we're lucky that we have the option of driving to Wales and getting the ferry so we can take as much stuff as we want. It is a v v long journey if we do it that way though...

Glask - thanks. Haven't really looked at the luna. I'll google it....

kayzr · 14/01/2009 12:36

The HV rang back and I said that I think it might just be tiredness and if I feel any worse I will ring her or see GP. I'm hopefully haing my six week check next week but our GPs are pretty useless.

I think I might come to an agreement that DH gets up on a Friday and Saturday night as he isn't at work the following day so has no excuse.

Tink, I hope things are happening!!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 14/01/2009 12:42

LBOT- 2 was our max limit!!! then we had a 'scare' in november 07 and realised we weren't that bothered about another one joining the family after all, obviously it would ahve been much harder then as DD would have been only just 2yo when i'd have been due but we realised that it'd be quite nice to have another one day.... then all the surrogacy thing went tits up, decided now was a good enough time for us to have a 3rd and here we are now!!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 14/01/2009 12:43

Ses- depending on your budget the bee is very easy to steer and is very light to lift.

Having steered a 3-wheeler, personally I found it quite hard (was heavy pram) so I like the 4wheels on on the bee.

Enjoy the purely way. always a favoourite for jams!

Astarte · 14/01/2009 12:43

OMG LaT I'm so sorry I missed your post about your Nan. I had read up to where you said to Nat about her expecting you to rant and I must've got distracted and not read the rest. I humbly apologise

I'm NOT having 6 you nutters! Diege n I were just saying how many we might've liked if we were both younger and not so crippled b subsequent pg's
4 is definitely enough.

The number of children you have is no indication of how good a mother you are btw, but it can be an indication of how lax your contraception is hehehe!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 14/01/2009 12:44

Glask- what happened with that friend about the surrogacy? Remember you saying she was being weird..

kayzr · 14/01/2009 12:45

Glask, I'd completely forgotten about the surrogacy thing!!

Astarte · 14/01/2009 12:46

Not fancy 4 then Glask? 3 is an 'odd' number ya know . Ses if you're thinking about any more kiddies get the P&T, I love mine.

kayzr · 14/01/2009 12:47

Get the P&T it is brilliant!!!!!!

Astarte · 14/01/2009 12:48

Goodness yes the Surrogacy, that's seems like ages ago doesn't it?

How's the feeding going Kayz?

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 14/01/2009 12:49

SES- i've had a grand total of (if you include the 2 i'll have for DC3) 14 prams/pushchairs in the last 4 years.... and the Luna is by far the superior of them all!! I've had all sorts and styles, travel systems, doubles, strollers, have had most brands too Graco, Bertini, M&P, Maxi Cosi, Quinny.... Bit of a pram addict!! but i think i've found my perfect match in the Luna!! I can't rave about it enough!!

kayzr · 14/01/2009 12:50

Not too bad, he just seems to latch on, feed for 5 minutes, come off, cry a bit and then go back on. After 30 minutes I gie him a bottle.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 14/01/2009 12:53

14 prams!

Poor Ses- getting all this pram advice from all of us "selling" our respective purchases really made me smile.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 14/01/2009 12:55

well they'd been keeping things from me the whole time i'd been friends with her, so that i'd be more inclined to offer help to them... like she never told me her and her DH had been goibng to relate, that he had massive stress attacks and had locked her outside in november (with a heart condition) for 2hrs in the cold... that when i was actually ttc for them he could possibly have lost his job... Just made me realise they weren't who i thought they were, and by keeping them things from me made me wonder what sort of people they really were... I mean i'd known them for 18mths and they'd never 'slipt-up' so they were bloody good liars!!

kayzr · 14/01/2009 12:55

I had this for ds1 and I loved it.

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 14/01/2009 12:55

No - it's great to hear what you all think! I've started a thread to get as many thoughts/ideas as I can!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 14/01/2009 12:56

actually- just re-counted and it'll be 15!! i'm determined to stick to the 2 for this one though!!

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 14/01/2009 12:58

Ooh Kay - I quite like that and seems to fit my criteria. It's a lot of pennies but then it seems to cover off just about everything too!!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 14/01/2009 12:58

Ah phew... im overly sensitive about being given unwanted advice (seems a lot of people out there keen to give!) so kind of assume other are!

Glad you are collecting information Ses! The wagon are always here to offer experience! (especially resident expert Glask

Astarte · 14/01/2009 12:59

Is he sort of feeding for 5 minutes having a break then going back on over a period of 30 minutes?
It's far easier to get milk out of a bottle than a boob, he'll be working harder to bf, which might explain the on/off.

Sounds good though, keep it up if you can! Every extra drop he gets will mean less formula he'll want

14 prams! That's a serious obsession

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 14/01/2009 12:59

Ast- nope- 3 is my limit.... my body can't take another pregnancy!! i'm getting sterilised after this one!! or DH getting the snip, or maybe both to be doubly secure we'll have no 'surprises'... My house isn't anywhere near big enough, it's currently only a 2bed, we're converting it through this year and bext into 3beds, so DS will have the smaller room and the girls will have the big room.... the small room would never fit 2 DC's in it!!

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 14/01/2009 13:00

I guess it's a bit like baby names. If you ask for opinions (or in this case advice) be prepared to get it! If you don't ask, you don't want to hear it!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 14/01/2009 13:09

Ses- i'm currently selling a pram that is similar to the one kay had, just different material etc. I liked it for the carrycot bit, but i found it very bulky to pack in and out of the car, and very big to store in the house. They look perfect, but if your anything like me will soon get sick of having a MASSIVE pram taking up room....

the 15 prams all kinda came about in one reason or another... either the DC didn't settle in them, or i didn't like pushing them, i thought they'd outgrown them etc... a lot of my reasons were over-exagerated to make DH think it was worse than it was and let me have a new pram.... he's said i can have the luna and the chicco I bought last week as long as if i want another i sell the ones i have and can only use the money they sell for the buy a new pram!! I've agreed!!

Also with DS i only had 3 prams before DD arrived!! So 10 of the prams have been for DD!! With DS the first pram i got wasn't what i needed really, i swear there was a fault and my aunty loved the pram and it suited her needs, she bought me a new graco as a swap for the pram, and other than a small stroller for the car that was all i had until DD came along!!

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 14/01/2009 13:12

Good point - there's just sooo much to think about!! I think the best thing will be to go and look, then have a think and then go back before making a decision! You definitely seem to be a bit of an expert Glask!

lastboxoftampons · 14/01/2009 13:12

Oooh, I love prams! We don't have a car and live in the city, but will likely do a lot of walking and have a big park nearby. So, I'm looking for something pretty rugged, but really lightweight and I don't want to have to buy too many attachments because we don't have much storage space. Plus, I want something that can face forward or backward and preferrably would like the carseat to attach directly to the chassis!

I love this one - Icoo Targo but of course haven't seen it in person.

I think the Bee might be another option for us.
