i like Lea on the secnd page!!

right i'm off for a nap- this PG is really taking its toll on me!! I may be back later depending on what tiem i manage to sleep till!!

kayzr · 13/01/2009 13:52

Lea has been rehomed, they haven't updated it. We really wanted him. I know this one will rehome to us as I checked.

Diege · 13/01/2009 14:24

Hi Kay! Just looked at your other thread and I think the advice you've been given is spot-on. Go with your gut instinct, and as others have said as long as you are firm but polite they'll hopefully get the message re: babysitting!
Just a word of warning about border collies (I think your dh wants one?); I'm sure you know already that whilevery rewarding they are extremely hard work (my parents had them when we werte growing up, still have one now). I'd actually class a collie as a big dog in terms of the space/exercise they need. Good luck with it all anyway - I'm sure you'll end up with what you want

go diege good shopping

sorry for row kay it is only normal when you are so tired and adjusting to having 2.

looks like we have all got the shopping bug i am shopping due to impatience having this one. had better come soon or else all the high street chains will have gone bust due to me

tinkisdueanyday · 13/01/2009 15:36

having niggles here

between 11am and 12pm had 6 contractions lasting 2 mins and 10 mins apartish
then have had one once an hour since.
hoping this means something
have had lots of number 2 not runny hard think to do with iron satchets.

Astarte · 13/01/2009 15:47

Kay a border collie can need 2x2hour walks a day, my sister has one and the amount of stimulation and exercise it needs it phenomenal. I really would caution against a BC with 2 LO's.

Good luck Tink and to Gin who was due yesterday

kayzr · 13/01/2009 16:20

I might just give up and become a hermit or something.

I really do feel like everyone I know thinks I can't cope with anything. MIL says I'll never cope with 2 DC's, everyone says I won't cope with a dog. I'll just get a worm farm, I'm sure I can cope with those.

Sorry for all my moaning, it is just getting me down the way everyone seems to think I cant do anything.

MW - bf isn't good enough so ff
MIL and SIL - cant cope with 2 kids
Everyone - cant cope with 2 dcs and dog.

I think I need a sunny holiday.

Diege · 13/01/2009 16:25

Kayz, you are coping with things brillaintly!!! The only hesitation I would have would be with the border collie (having had them) as they need so much work. In fact I would caution nearly everyone against getting one unless they live on a farm/are retired and have loads of spare time. I think you'd cope fine with a less demanding dog (ie, vitually any other breed!), probably better than most as you obviously have the love and commitment to give to a dog. So a rare wagon hug and a command to give yourself a break and get some chocloate or others goodies down your neck xxx

Oh and TINKS sounds like things are progressing nicely . Wonder how LG&T is getting on?

kayzr · 13/01/2009 16:30

I'd rather wait until we've had a couple of dogs before getting a border collie but I think DH has his heart set on one as he has had one all his life.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 13/01/2009 16:41

Kay- dont think 'everyone' thinks you can't cope with a dog.... just its all too easy to get carried away and get a dog, only to find they are too boisterous, or need more training and time and dedication than expected... IME bringing a dog into the family is harder work than having a newborn... I know i'd never want to have a baby and have a new dog too- but if you honestly think you can then go for it, you sound like you've thought about it for a good while... You just need to get youself and DH to agree on a breed and minimum age etc and stick to it. A quieter dog would be ideal with 2 young DC's IMO and one that didn't need too much exercise as if one of the DC's were tired/playing up etc then you could stay in all day without feeling guilty about not walking the dog etc.

I didn't manage a nap in the end, had bad heartburn and instead of getting up straight away and having a rennie tablet i tried to sleep instead, only making it worse... then i have either a bum or a head bashing into my ribs which is really uncomfy- i seriously have another 11+ weeks of this????

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 13/01/2009 17:10

Just back from MW appt

Sounding good tink - hang in there!

Kay- sorry you are feeling fed up and had row with DH... Hope you are able to make the right choice for you about the dog. I dont know anything about dogs so wont offer any advice. Im a cat person

Astarte- welecome back

Glask sorry to hear you are suffering with Hburn too... 11wks seems ages but will fly by Im sure...

New MW was nice. Everything normal and I was measuring for 32wks today so bit bigger as last time i was quite small. Baby had hiccups when she was listening to heart was really funny. HEad is down at the moment so fingers crossed it stays!

Diege · 13/01/2009 17:15

That sounds a great mw appointment GYO! I can't belive you are so far along!
Boo to heartburn GLASK - does anything work?
Have had enough of marking essays for now so relaxing before dds get back. Have a long day tomorrow at work - leave house 6.45 back 7.30ish, so am going to have an extra early night tonight - no later than 9 I think . I can't wait for maternity leave (ooh, only another 4 momtns or so...)

kayzr · 13/01/2009 17:16

I'm just going to keep thinking it is nearly Friday and I can go shopping in York and go for coffee with a couple of the Dec 08 girls.

I need retail therapy!!

Do you know how sad I am??

I have started spell checking my posts!!
I use this website

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 13/01/2009 17:22

Diege- Rennies do work for an hour or so after taking it, if i drink anything fizzy after that tiem then it will come back again... i've not found anything to stop it all together, but rennie chalky tablets are good enough for my needs i suppose!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 13/01/2009 17:23

Kay- i'm also looking forward to friday, My mum is having the kids overnight, I'm getting an afternoon alone to go shopping, and I'm going on a night out with DH, just going for a couple of drinks in town and something to eat but i'm exited non-the-less!! Its so nice having something to look forward to!!

kayzr · 13/01/2009 17:26

It is very nice to have something to look forward too. I'm going to get some new clothes I think.

I just thought I'd look on the Boden website for some nice clothes but I think I might need to win the lottery first!!!

kayzr · 13/01/2009 17:27

Ooooh just found the SALE page!!!

Astarte · 13/01/2009 17:35

Thanks for the welcome Gyo.

Kay I was only trying to help.

Have 36 week appt tomorrow, starting to get a bit close.

Glask I've been using the dual action gaviscon with a bit of success on a nighttime, two tablets seems to be enough to let me get some sleep. It is awful isn't it?

Good luck to Tink I hope she's feeling pokey....in a good, productive way

tinkisdueanyday · 13/01/2009 17:39

hope things are going to happen soon then last contraction was @ 4pm mum has just left so hoping that will start things again she only lives 40 mins away.
go kay retail theraphy always helps!!
i think that you are doing a great job 2

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 13/01/2009 17:39

Are those the new ones Ast? I got so exited when i saw the new advert for a new heartburn remedy!! But haven't yet tried it!!

tinkisdueanyday · 13/01/2009 17:41

hi astarte

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 13/01/2009 17:42

good luck for the 36wk appt. cant believe how many of us are moving quickly towards D-day!

Was thinking of your this afternoon Astarte. Talking to MW re home waterbirth. She was saying that the blow up pools are as good as the heated one that you recommned but I just dont get that. Just been talking to DH about it an is now happy re having one of those in the lounge and likes the idea that its heated too.... Now the MW has caused confusion. I like to go with recommendations and your comment re lounging in it at the end of pregnancy sounds fab!

I take the gaviscon lemon tabs, as emergency relief but usually 4 at once and they work pretty much in 10mins, but I confess to takeing Zantac regularly too as it was so bad I couldnt eat anything at all without nearly being sick from the acid. Dont mention this to the MW though

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 13/01/2009 17:43

ooh Kay, your trip to york sounds great! somethng nice to look forward to...

Astarte · 13/01/2009 17:45

yes the new ones. I'm such a sucker for advertising I admit it. They're nicely minty too, though the LO does think they're sweeties .
I think I paid about £3-4 for a pack of 32, but I'd pay waaaaaaay more than that to not have heartburn of a night.
I've never had it before in pg, everything must be a lot, erm, looser

Tink you've had a sweep stake! Can I add my wee prediction?

okay......7lb 2oz and born on 17th January (if that's 2 days late).
