Astarte I am really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really sorry. Mil had just rung and because DS1 was crying because he tripped over I was in a foul mood.

kayzr · 13/01/2009 17:53

That makes no sense!!

Mil had just rung and because DS1 was crying because he tripped over she said I wasn't coping. I replied when I was in a foul mood.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 13/01/2009 17:54

foul moods can affect us all kay!! dont worry about it- its all forgetten now!! keep thinking shopping!!!!!

Astarte · 13/01/2009 17:55

Gyo, my pool comes in 6 days!

Lots of people seem to really like the inflatable ones and they're much cheaper to be fair. Think I might have a fight on my hands to keep the pool to myself tbh.

Last time I used it more on a night and I found Dh would appear from nowhere in swim shorts and not even ask if he could get in, cheeky beggar.

Astarte · 13/01/2009 17:59

Ooh x post kay. no worries at all, you are coping admirably imho

MIL's who'd have 'em?

Where are you meeting in York? Dh and I have a 6week baby visit planned to get a bear from the teddy shop in Stoneygate, then obviously lunch at Betty's . We've done for each of them, my mum is having the other 3 for the day.
It's such a treat to go to York, think I might like it more than London tbh.

Diege · 13/01/2009 18:01

How exciting Astarte! How long have you got to go now?
Friday trips sounds good, v.. You're right, it's good to have stuff to look forward to - maybe I'll do a bit more shopping.
Must get out of these bleedin' jeans. Bean making forlorn taps against digging in waistband in feeble protest...

kayzr · 13/01/2009 18:01

At the slug and lettuce. But I'm not 100% sure where it is so DH is coming and taking DS1 off shopping while I have coffee.

Diege · 13/01/2009 18:03

Ahh, slug and luttcue, I know York one I think - not to far from train station if I'm right. Betty's sounds good too Astarte

Astarte · 13/01/2009 18:04

4 weeks yesterday, eek!

I don't know why, but for me 36 weeks seems like another landmark date. Perhaps it's like the home stretch. I'm trying not to get too panicked, they've always been late, but I keep dreaming that she'll arrive 2 days early. No rhyme or reason there at all.

Are you finding out the sex then Diege? Can't believe how fast it's gone for you? How's the sickness?

Astarte · 13/01/2009 18:05

Sorry I'm sure I only pressed that once

God I'd love a beer.....

Diege · 13/01/2009 18:07

OMG that's no time at all left ASTARTE! Have to admit that I know my own due date for mc pregnancy would be around the same time, but feel fine about it. Sickness is reducing thanks - only gets me when v.tired, so just once a week puke on average which is great. Have decided on balance (after a moment of weakness yesterday) that we're going to keep the sex a surprise, though am totally expecting a girl

Diege · 13/01/2009 18:09

Oh and while I remember I kinow no.4 is def last for you too. I'm thinking of getting sterilised and notice you posted something about this in larger families thread. Have you had any more thoughts about it??

Astarte · 13/01/2009 18:16

Hmm, well I did and then someone started a "will I regret it?" thread, and I started to bloody wonder whether I would regret it .

If I ended up with a section I'll ask them to do it there and then. Dh has plans to go for the snip though....I think.

I don't think my body will take another pg though Diege, even if we were both willing.
I think 4 is my limit, I don't mind admitting I'm struggling to cope at the moment. The 23 mo is a handful and a half, but I suppose that's what they do at his age.

Are you thinking you might not be done?

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 13/01/2009 18:17

Hello!

Can't believe I haven't managed to catch up and post since Sunday. Have skim read most of the thread...

GYo - substitute dress was from BM so I haven't lost out. In fact the dress arrived yesterday (sod's law!) I'm really pleased with it though - it's 100% silk empire line, knee lenght and cap sleeves. It was originally £59 and I got it in the sale for £19!!! I told DH I'd wear it when he takes me out for Valentines Day
Thanks for info about your scan - I'm still v impressed with the piccie.

Kay - I also would be very p***d off if DH suddenly changed his mind on something like that as you gear yourself up for it. I'm a bit concerned about how our 2 dogs will react around a baby tbh. They're really gentle things but I think they may get jealous.

Diege - LOL at a lecture theatre full of students Also - is there no end to your sleb connections???!

LBOT - I soooo feel self conscious about my bump and debate about what to wear dependant on who I'm seeing and how obvious I want (or usually don't) want it to be. I think because we didn't tell anyone early on this time, it then seemed a bit silly suddenly saying to people "Oh, I'm 15 wks pg" so I generally just didn't say anything. Then meant I felt everyone was trying to work out whether I was pg or not but they probably didn't want to say after last time in case they were wrong! There's still plenty of people only just working it out!

tink - hey? Where are you?? What's going on with those twinges?? I've got tomorrow in the list so could be perfect timing for me??!

LG&T - calling you too???!!! Any news???

Astarte - good to hear from you! Not long for you either

LaTour - sorry to hear about your nan. Must be v tough on everyone. FWIW, I had a horrendous year in 2002 (best friend even joked that if it had all happened to someone in a soap, it would be criticised for being unbelievable - even in a soap!) and hoped 2003 would get off to a good start. It didn't ..... but from end of Jan onwards, was sooo much better and it ended up being a year of transition so that by the autumn, I was really happy. I really hope 2009 ends up a good year overall for you - you deserve it.

Sorry, my brain can't remember anything else but hello to you all - Star, Cosmo, Glask, Gruff and anyone else I've missed!

Diege · 13/01/2009 18:20

OMG no I'm not having anymore. This pregnancy has been so hard on my body too - totally unlike the others which were a breeze after sickness had passed. May chicken out of the sterisiation, but need some pretty hard core contraception. Do I detect a hint of wistfulness about a possiboe no.5 there??

Astarte · 13/01/2009 18:25

Oh totally Diege...and if I admit it no.6!

If I was younger and we had a bigger house (3 bed atm) then I'd definitely want more. Money doesn't bother, we do okay, it's just space really.

I've been shocked at the physical toll this pg has taken. Still, I'm enjoying every moment of it knowing truly in my heart it is my last

We need to have a chat about what we do in the event of an accident tbh

tinkisdueanyday · 13/01/2009 18:26

yes you could be right ses i hope

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 13/01/2009 18:27

What's the latest then tink? I need an update and don't want things to progress too quickly...

kayzr · 13/01/2009 18:32

Does anyone have a way of stopping yourself from crying?
I don't like crying in front of DS1 and I can't seem to stop myself when I think of DS2's feeding or if I talk about it on the dec 08 thread.

Astarte · 13/01/2009 18:38

How long have you felt like this Kay?

Could it be pnd? you have been through an awful lot since ds2's birth. Also, I hope you don't mind me asking but have you given up bf altogether as it could be those hormones creating havoc.

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 13/01/2009 18:39

Oh Kay, can I send you a sneaky wagon hug?

I generally find that if I'm crying and can't stop, then I need to cry. I know I'm not in the position of having DC but could you ask DS1 for a cuddle and just say "I'm sorry but Mummy's feeling a bit sad and it's nothing to worry about. Can I have a cuddle?" My other help is phoning one of my best friends and offloading.

Feel free to offload on here too if it will help.

kayzr · 13/01/2009 18:40

The past few days. Since I decided it would be better to FF as his latch seems to have gone to pot.

I have almost given up but I can't stop myself from giving him a feed every now and again.

See I'm crying again now.

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 13/01/2009 18:42

Reading through the posts that others (more experienced than I) have made over the last day or so, I think their advice is spot on. You should be really proud of what you've achieved in the last 4 weeks.

kayzr · 13/01/2009 18:47

I am going to wait until he goes to bed and have a really good cry with some chocolate I think.
