Glask - you sound very perky considering. I had a very good night sleep which has done my virus thing the wold of good. I got up at 11am

Tink - my sis is 5ft 2 and a size 6-8 (tiny!) and she had a 10 lb baby! I would say you are more likely to have a baby a little bit bigger than dd1, i dont think it is really to do with your size. Not in my sisters experience anyway - i may be wrong.

I think I might give up BF. The HV said that DS2 will never be exclusively BF which is making me cry as I type this. I just feel like I am doing all this BF for no reason as he never seems full until he has his formula top up. I feel like such a failure and I am really angry with myself.

Kayz, if it helps at all I've read that the benefits of bf still stand as long as they have 3 bfs a day. I think you're doing a brilliant job at the mixed feeding and have inspired me to give it a go!Agree GLASK, situation v.different for your dh than the usual snorting male. It sounds like you are buildoing up to a very therapeutic shopping spree there!
TINK, agree with GRUFF that (imo) baby size isn't strictly related to size of mother. Second babies do tend to be a little bigger (dd1 7.6, dd2 8.1, dd3 7.11) I think, but I wouldn't worry that you're having a wopper! Have you had any indication from midwife on size?
Well so called trip is a bit of a non-starter. dh has gone all conscientious on his working from home so we are sticking to a local restaurant so he can get back to e-mail etc... Oh well, can't complain, it's not too hard a life!

Tink- DD weighed 1lb 8oz less than DS was, so not always a bigger baby second time around!!

Diege- well yesterday we went pram shopping for a stroller type that will be suitable for keeping in the boot and ideal for using on our holiday.... while on our travels i saw the luna, i've always liked it, and as i spent over £140 less than originally planned on a pram yesterday i think i'm entitled to a luna!! Luckily DH said its fine, and he's going to buy it for me a wek today.

Kay- he'll still be getting all the goodness of your BM!! and i have to say i ate a fair amount of crappy junk food high calorie foods while BFing which i think helped fill them up.... can you just eat a bit worse than normal to 'fill him' until he's fully into a routine?

Just rang LLL. Started crying which was a little embarassing

She said that it can be done and gave me some things to do.

She said to put DS2 at the breast every 2 hours, she said it doesn't matter if he doesn't take a full feed but it will help.
To try and feed him at least twice a night because he normally only wakes once.
Put him to the breast when he is awake, he doesn't have to take a feed but just being near will help.
Carry him in a sling so he can feed and I can still do things with DS1.
Gradually wean off formula and maybe replace the formula with EBM so DH can still feed him so I can get a bath etc.

She is going to send me some information in the post. She did say to keep getting him weighed regularly so I know he is putting weight on.

Exellent news Kay- if you really want to carry on and persevere (which it sounded it from your post saying you thought you might give up) it will be so worth it!! I actually have to admit i used to offer mine the breast probably every hour, they'd take some milk if they wanted some and not if they didn't, everytime they cried and were warm and clean bum i'd offer them the breast... i'd sit on the couch with my boobs out (best with curtains shut) and they'd sleep in my arm with their head resting on my boobs... i gather it all must have helped with them from what you've just been told. If you need me you know where i am!!

you have done so well kay so far i wouldnt worry. i bf dd for 5 weeks she wasnt getting anything and i was getting so stressed. us ladies have a hard life with babies dont we.

evening all... i managed a half hour nap while the kids had theirs... but to be honest i feel no different now than i did before... i think it'll hit me around 8pm that i am actually tired!! Hi there Glask, curry is a bargain!

My DH is making a lovely leek and potato homemade soup.

Had my mw apt today as I was away last week. Everything fine but baby is in a funny position - mw said because she is such an active baby!Nothing to worry about just yet. Her head is just beneath my boobs at top of bump and she is facing outwards at the mo but it was cool to know what bit was what. She is all over the place though. Bless!
