I know Ses, at least we are still better than Spurs!!!!

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 08/01/2009 18:24

Hmmm... Maybe I should have kept quiet!

lardybump · 08/01/2009 19:24

Evening all. Star dd is going to be 23 months when baby is born. We are going to try the buggy board first and if it doesn't work then we are going to get double. DD does love walking and out thoughs are that she can sit on board as well. I hope it works as money is tight and doubles dont come cheap.....

I have switched to non bio thanks ladies, and have starting washing the baby clothes....

I am so pleased with DD today she has been fantastic. First she has eaten all her dinner for the first time since christmas eve (she has been off her food and on a starvation diet since then).. Then..

She has been in her new big girls bed since Saturday but she plays up a bit and I have to sit with her until she falls asleep. We decided to give it a week and then get tough with her but tonight she got in and listed to her story and just rolled over and said night night mummy.... I was so proud of her...

Had mw today she is refering me to hospital for specialist appointment and also she is getting me crutches for the last 6 weeks of my pregnance. I asked about being induced on my due date and she said that she will make an appointment to see docter at hospital as it will be down to them not her.... So we will see.... She had a good feel of my hips and said that one is significantly higher than the other!!!!

Blimey sorry long post.... hope everyone is ok

lardybump · 08/01/2009 19:25

"our thoughts" sorry typing to quickly...

kayzr · 08/01/2009 19:30

Lardy, I have been meaning to ask you how it has been going with the bed. We're taking the side of DS1s cot on Saturday as he is getting very close to climbing out.

Also have you started potty training DD yet? My mum keeps going on about it and I still think it is a bit early.

lardybump · 08/01/2009 19:41

She is doing ok. She doesn't get out of it in the night/morning yet she still just cries if she want me (I have been told that this is only short term and that she will work out very soon that she can get into our room on her own.)...

We read her a story while she is in bed and then I have been sitting with her for 15 mins or so until she drops off... We said we would do this for a week and then we will just put her to bed read the story and leave her so as of tomorrow that is what we are going to do...

I make a real fuss in the morning of making her new bed and she helps me... SHe has never had a duvet or pillow before either so that is new for her too....

Havent started potty training her yet HV advised to wait until baby arrives as she would probably go backward and want a nappy like baby.... She also said 2.5 years is the best time to start so I am going to go with that....

kayzr · 08/01/2009 19:50

I'm worried about him falling out of bed. I am looking forward to doing it though. I haven't got him a duvet and pillow yet. I wonder if they make them for cotbeds.

I am planning on potty training him at 2.5 years too. We can go through it together!

lardybump · 08/01/2009 19:57

We got our duvet and pillow from Ikea and they are perfect size for the bed. Ours is an extendable bed so at the moment is the same size as a cotbed. Do you have an IKEA near you? DD hasn't fallen out yet but it isn't that far if she does.....

Sounds good about doing potty training together I think we will need some support....

kayzr · 08/01/2009 20:00

Nearest is Leeds but might be going soon. Will have to have a look.

I feel potty training will be quite hard. I am hoping I am wrong though. I am tempted to look for a decent book about it.

GruffaloSoldier · 08/01/2009 20:01

sorry to butt in but mothercare do them too I think. Little 18 month old i look after has one!

GruffaloSoldier · 08/01/2009 20:04

i potty trained chld I look after. it took two days! No. 1 tip DONT use pull ups. children do much better if they know they are wet - then they can link weeing etc with immediate wetness. I have lot of tips as I have toilet trained many children with autism from 2- 14 years old!

lardybump · 08/01/2009 20:05

there you go then Kay... I love IKEA though i also got a canapy for dd's bed, it is so pretty. I really want to redecorate her room as we did it before she was born and didn't know what sex she was. DP says that I am not aloud until baby is born as we dont know what we are having yet and wouldn't be fair to decorate to girly if we have a boy as they will be sharing......

lardybump · 08/01/2009 20:07

DD tells us if she has no nappy on that she needs a wee (normally a second before she does it though) but she is happy to walk around in a full nappy and not say anything. She does have a wee on the toilet after her evening bath but doesn't ask any other time and uses the potty as a hat!!!

GruffaloSoldier · 08/01/2009 20:09

I LOVE IKEA! and its probably more resonably priced than MC. I dont suppose your extendable bed is the Leksvik one is it LB? I love it and def want it for this one LOL a bit early to be planning beds for my unborn child

kayzr · 08/01/2009 20:09

DS1 will happily be in a full nappy and not say anything either. We know when he is doing a number 2 as he hides behind the curtains or his highchair.

Also uses potty as a hat or puts his cars in them.

GruffaloSoldier · 08/01/2009 20:12

Gosh LB thats great she sounds ready now! Little girl I trained went straight from nappy to toilet. LOL at potty for a hat!

lardybump · 08/01/2009 20:17

No ours is the Minnen bed in white it is lovely and extends to three sizes....

GruffaloSoldier · 08/01/2009 20:20

Oh yes thats nice too. Like I said LOVE ikea

lardybump · 08/01/2009 20:21

Me too and it is a lot cheaper then other places... Kay you have to go bet you want to redecorate ds's room when you get there though...

kayzr · 08/01/2009 20:23

I'm sure I will. He is having a blue room but I he will need accessories!!

lardybump · 08/01/2009 20:25

Yes all babies and toddlers need accessories.... its the law...

kayzr · 08/01/2009 20:34

Yeah like this and this

lardybump · 08/01/2009 20:39
