Bambino Mio ones. We started to use them after the black poo had finished.

Morning! Good to hear from you KOOKY - and great news on the sickness - although I know it's a double edged sword!
Am also going to apply for the health in pregnancy thing - the money will be really useful, although may go more towards my mental health and happiness (ie, the pram) than fruit and veg . Oh and COSMO good luck with them changing your date so you're eligible; bear in mind that it does have to be your EDD that they go on though, so even if you give birth 2 weeks after your EDD (and are therefore eligible) you won't get the money .
Will be interesting to hear how people get on with resuables. Never tried them myself, but am willing to be converted if they are good.
Off to Cardiff this morning for work, not back till Friday eve, so booking out my overnight absence wagon card, and speak to all of you later tomorrow xxx

morning all. A quick question for you all before I rush out for the day. I am starting to was the baby clothes and was wondering if I should swap my washing powder to a non bio like fairy like I did with dd when she was a baby???? At the moment we are using a bio one!! What do you ladies think??

Diege · 08/01/2009 10:13

Arghh!!! Bleedin work have just run as I was heading out of the dorr for the train to Cardiff and have cancelled tomorrow's meeting so trip is off . Pleased in a way as was a long journey etc, but have had to do so much reorganisation etc, putting dd3 into nursery for extra day, childminder for older dds, that we will still have to pay for, and of course prepaid hotel that is non-refundable (should get them to cough up for the hotel). Oh well, such is life....
Morning TINKS! I can't beleive that this time next week you may have your dd2! Can you beleive it yourself?
LB: Think I would change to non-bio for a bit when washing baby's clothes. I did with dds, at least till I got sick of the marks not coming off (when weaning), and figured that the stain remover I was spraying all over them sort of cancelled out any non-bio effects Not that long for you either is there?

GruffaloSoldier · 08/01/2009 10:52

hi all

i still have a stinking cold, sinus pains from hell and ear ache

sorry to hear that your trip was cancelled Diege, how annoying!

LB - I would def switch to non-bio at first because of sensitive skin etc.

I am 26 weeks today Exactly 13 weeks behind you tink!

I am working for three hours this afternoon, even the thought of that fills me with dread the way Im feeling! Roll on maternity leave!
9 weeks to go!

tinkwantsherbaby · 08/01/2009 10:59

lb - definetly switch to non-bio for baby clothes.

kayzr · 08/01/2009 12:33

Morning,

DS2 passed his hearing test, so thats all ok. Then we went and had hot chocolate and cake in a cafe and I BF in public. I did hide behind his blanket until he was latched on but it was ok. I also got DS1 a colouring book and crayons to amuse him while I BF.

I didn't take the sling as I wanted to get some shopping. I got a litter tray and a cat carrying basket thing!! DH has agreed to a kitten!!! Not the one I showed you though as it is at a rescue centre in Wales and we can't organise transport.

Hope everyone is ok.

GruffaloSoldier · 08/01/2009 13:11

Well done Kayz that all sounds fabulous! Hooray for kitten too

I have finally succumbed to being ill and have taken today and tomorrow off. As I can barely stand it is probably for the best. Still feel very guilty about it though. Was supposed to be off tomorrow anyway, was asked to do some over time yesterday. They will have to cope without me!

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 08/01/2009 13:39

Hi!

Gruff - sorry you've had to succumb. Probably best to stay home and look after yourself. Take care.

Kay - fab news and well done on getting out and about and bfing.

Sorry for not catching up properly but hi to everyone else.

I've been really hormonal the last 24 hrs. Am in an all day meeting and feel like I could just burst into tears at any point. Yesterday I nearly threw a strop when buying my lunch as they didn't have the sandwich I wanted! Last night got really upset with DH (long story, no time now) and just generally feeling really miserable

Sorry for moan card use and I know I need to try and snap out of it.

DH away in Scotland tonight so will probably get back on then.

opinions please ladies would either of these look okay in dds room. she has green walls and pink and green shelves etc

well done kay

poor you glas

Starshinetiger · 08/01/2009 14:43

Well done Kay on your trip out and bfing in public!
Gruff - sorry to hear you are feeling so ill. Think you should totally take the time off and get yourself better. Once you have a little one, if you get ill, duvet days are never the same again - you still have someone else to look after!
Diege - boo to cancelled trip, what a pain - they should definitely cough up for hotel!
Tink - Of the two, I would go with the second (round paper one) - but I thought you ordered one from Ebay already? Hope MW appt goes well.

So, questions for you ladies (if you're around):

  1. Last two days, I keep getting bump feeling really tight (I'm only 29+5 btw) - is this just baby moving around and pushing against outside of bump, or is this Braxton Hicks?
  1. Any of you with more than 1 DC - DS will be 2.6 when DC2 arrives. He loves walking and hasn't slept in his pushchair for ages. So, am I daft to say that I will not bother with double buggy and instead will get buggy board, so I can either have baby in pushchair and DS walking or on buggyboard, or have baby in sling and DS in pushchair - am I living in cloud cuckoo land?!

Seems daft to fork out on a Phil and Teds (although I love them) if we won't get much use, what do you think?!

lastboxoftampons · 08/01/2009 14:45

Hi everyone:

Gruff poor you! Please don't feel guilty - you can hardly stand up! They will manage without you. As much as we all hate to admit it no one is indispensible!

Ses You're pregnant, you have to allow yourself some grumpy days. As much as I miss him, I always secretly love when my DH is out in the evenings. It's nice to have a quiet one for yourself. Put on your PJs, make some tea and curl up in front of the TV. Too bad Relocation was on last night instead of tonight - it was a great one! I love when Kirstie freaks out on super annoying people! and this couple was a real winner!

Kay hooray for the kitten! and for DS's hearing test too!

Less than 24 hours for my scan.

Oh, and I read in the paper last night that crop tops are in for this summer. Great!

GruffaloSoldier · 08/01/2009 15:22

Aww thanks everyone, I feel much better with your sympathies

Ses sorry to feel you are having a bad day. On boxing day morning I freaked out completely at DH said some mean things, did some even sillier things and then broke down crying and couldn't stop. DH thought Id lost it I think. Anyhow, I came out of it, apologised and made DH understand it was pg hormones and I had no control and he forgave me. I found it really scary though. I was happy and over it eventually and you will too!

Good luck for scan Lbox and LOL at crop tops your post made me chuckle. I can just imagine how wonderful my post baby belly will look in that fashion!

Star - I think the buggy board option is perfectly feasible. I nanny a 3 yr old and havent used any buggy at all for months now. I think it will depend on distance obviously but that is when buggy board will be useful, you might not even need it all time. Let us know what you decide!

GruffaloSoldier · 08/01/2009 15:22

sorry to hear that should read LOL

tinkwantsherbaby · 08/01/2009 16:36

hi

midwife went great

star - i would probably go for double buggy option if dc will only be 2.6.
i was going to use a buggy board instead dd is going to walk she is 3 and a half months.
she went in her buggy lots @ 2.6 years.
cheers for lampshade advice. one on ebay isnt in colour i wanted. so have purchased a white one with coloured butterflies and flowers on hoping this one will be third time lucky. i am determined to get a lampshade for her room!!

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 08/01/2009 17:12

Thanks for your kind words. Am home now. Had a good cry when I got in the car and couldn't stop. Phoned DH and he wanted to know what had upset me and I tried to explain that nothing had upset me and that I was just feeling miserable.
Can't reconcile why I'm so pleased to finally be pg but I'm so miserable! Really want to enjoy being pg so much as I hope to do it again another 2 or 3 times!

Came home and just had a mug of soup and a couple of crumpets. Still feeling a bit fragile but a bit better.
Feel really silly

tink - glad midwife went well. How are the tightenings?

We've got this black tie do to go to with DH's work on saturday night. Do you remember me looking at a really expensive dress on IO site? Well I found another one I liked on the JoJomaman site and ordered it on 1st July. It was only £19 in the sale! It's not arrived yet though and I've just checked the progress and it's only been dispatched today and could take 4-5 days to get here!!! I'm hoping it miraculously arrives tomorrow or Sat morning...

Kay, Nat, Pop, Teuch - how are our wagon babies doing??!

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 08/01/2009 17:14

1st July???!!!
I really do have loads of hormones flying around today
I meant 1st January...

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 08/01/2009 17:21

LBOT - also wanted to say I'll be thinking of you tomorrow and look forward to hearing all about your scan tomorrow.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 08/01/2009 18:14

star- i'd go for the buggy board option myself, DS was only 15.5mths when DD arrived, and by 18mths was walking everywhere... he wanted to be the 'big boy' and not the baby, we had a pram with a toddler seat but he only went in it for 3mths, then was on a buggy board for a few weeks but didn't like it, he walked everywhere fine.

DD will be just turned 3 when DD2 arrives but she'll be walking everywhere, i'm not even getting a buggy board anymore!!

kayzr · 08/01/2009 18:18

I have come to an agreement with DH. He is going to start driving lessons again and I will give up my Sky Sports channels.

Then we can either buy a car or hire a car when we want to go on holiday while we save for a car.

He has failed 5 times so he kinda knows what he is doing, so we're hoping he won't need too many lessons before they put him for his test.

Sesthinks2009willbeagreatyear · 08/01/2009 18:21

Sounds like a good agreement...
Probably not much point having Sky Sports this season the way Arsenal are going anyway Kay!
