glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 07/01/2009 16:32

the techno XLT is probs what we'd go for if DH says no to the micralite.... but i think i can talk him round easily enough!! have a few tricks up my sleeve!! might even resort to offering sexual favours!!

2beautifulgalsandasnowglobe · 07/01/2009 16:34

Glask- if there is anything you want to ask about Disneyland Paris please do i did a lot of research for our trip. Check out the disboards forum for advice etc.
Will you be staying at a Disney hotel?

Hello everyone.

Kay- you will have to post a pic of your hair when you get the chance.

Ok two tips for you ladies.

First one, anyone who goes to Pizza hut there is currently a voucher on the promotions/thread (sorry can't do links) to get 50% off total bill when eating in. Well worth it we did it last time they had the promotion.

Second tip, those of you who are Due babe after April 6th will be entitled for the £190 health in pregnancy grant. So next time you see the midwife ask about it.

Right i'm off to make tea, think DH and i are having takeaway curry, have fancied one for days!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 07/01/2009 16:42

ooh- 2BG- email me at [email protected] as i have a couple of things we might wanna ask... have done a fair amount of research, but 1st hand advise is good!! We're going to davy crocketts as we think the seperate cabin is the best option for us with 3DC's and also means after a long day out we can just have beans on toast for tea etc and eat while in the parks in the daytime!!

We are goign to pizza hut with that offer aswell 2BG, when we went for DS's bday late december we were given the voucher in-store, have booked a table for us and my parents and my sisters for the 18th!! DC's are exited for going!!

Do you know if everyone gets that grant aswell? if i will definately be entitled to it i'll defo be able to talk DH into letting me get the micralite!!!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 07/01/2009 16:45

have just googled 2BG- i will be entitled to the grant!!! wihooooooooooo!! i'm getting the micralite for definate now!!!!!

2beautifulgalsandasnowglobe · 07/01/2009 16:46

Yes everyone gets the grant glask, not based on income etc like the sure start one. can claim from 25 weeks. think i found information on the pregnancy threads. my e-mail address is amy.jayne @ talktalk.net, ask away.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 07/01/2009 17:18

2BG- searched and found the govdirect website, explained it all!! will apply for it at my next app (28+4wks).... I'm over the moon!!

Was gutted we didn't get the surestart grant when we had DS as we were on a very low joint income of about 12k... been told we should have got it, but never 'appealed' so kinda glad i'm getting something at some point- i know we'd not expected anythign this time so thats why its such a welcome bonus!! and makes me feel less guilty about spending money on a brand new pram even though we'd agreed i'd settle with used for DC3... i mean the pram i have is nice, but i'd much prefer the micralite!!

Did you go to buffalo bills at disneyland? we're wanting to go, have heard some great reviews but not from anyone with DC's...

tinkwantsherbaby · 07/01/2009 17:33

i went to disnley land when i was 19 wears old so a while ago cant remember if we went there or not.
we stayed in santa fe lodges great

2beautifulgalsandasnowglobe · 07/01/2009 17:56

didn't do buffalo bills, so can't comment on that.
Definately have a meal at cafe mickey on the Disney village. We did this the first night and the girls loved it, got to see alot of different characters as they come around the table, talk with kids and sign autographs have photos. Saves standing in queues in the parks. Don't know how busy it will be when you go, but we pre booked all our restaurant/sit down meals.
Sorry my e-mail playing up so can't e-mail right now!
Got loads of tips for you.

2beautifulgalsandasnowglobe · 07/01/2009 18:01

Glask be warned that prices for food and drink are very high, eye watering. Dh had a beer in cafe mickey and it was 7,50 euros for a pint. So with current crap exchange rate thats around £7.00
Fast food, and hot drinks are crap, worse than maccy d's and that is saying something plus very expensive. Think we paid just over 30 euros for a fast food meal of burger and fries for the 4 of us. If you stay at a disney hotel you get buffet breakfast included which was fab, cause filled the girls up with cereal, toast, bread, cheese ham, then took sandwich bags from home and made sandwichs for the day. Took squash and made DD's a drinks flask of squash each for the day.

2beautifulgalsandasnowglobe · 07/01/2009 18:01

Sorry everyone, will stop posting disney tips now and will e-mail you with more tips/ideas when e-mail is working again Glask.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 07/01/2009 18:25

well we intended to do a disney cafe thing... nice to hear its worth it, we were expecting high prices, so were thinking of getting a few multipacks of cans for me and DH and little juice cartons etc for the kids... we'll be able to do that wont we as travelling by ferry in the car??... We were planning to spend about 50e a day on food out in the park and then spend some money in the hypermarket near davy crockets on quick and easy teas....

spending money-wise we were planning about £700 for a 4 night 5 day trip.... is this realistic? we'll have already paid for buffalo bills when booking the holiday, and that provides a good meal out one evening too... so we'll need 4 days lunches and 4 days teas on that £700, aswell as money for the older 2 DC's to get autograph books and some souveniers... we could stretch to a bit more for spending money, maybe up to £1000 but we don't expect it'd cost us that much!! And we've said anything else we can save for spending money we'll still exchange into euro's/travellers cheques and we can always change it back when we return if we dont spend it!!

kayzr · 07/01/2009 18:31

I am so jealous!!!

But we are going to take the DS's when they are older.

DS1 has just hit his head on the tv stand. Cue lots of crying from DS1. Its very red and hot so my mum is coming to have a look.

GruffaloSoldier · 07/01/2009 18:39

Hi all

just got home from work so yet to catch up but the grant post caught my eye. Just had to quickly post and say thank you 2bg!That sounds great, Im certainly not going to turn that one down

right off to catch up!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 07/01/2009 18:40

well when we go DS will be nearly 5 and DD will be 3.5.... so we've been wanting to go for ages... and instead of buying a new car we've decided to have our first ever holiday!!m# means sticking with a car i dont like... but it still does what its supposed to!!

kookykid · 07/01/2009 19:21

Hi everyone - how are things?

Kay and nat - your boys are so gorgeous!

I am officially 6 weeks today! Feeling really sick and tired, which is great.

Hope you're all well.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 07/01/2009 19:56

Kokky- horray for sickness (in a good way )

Gruff- Nice to see you!! I'm not going to turn down the grant either- never been entitled to anything like that before so i'm well 'chuffed'!!

kayzr · 07/01/2009 20:09

Kooky, Yay for sickness and tiredness!!!!!

I am going to go shopping tomorrow and going to use my baby carrier. First time and I am a bit scared but I can't take the pushchair as lots of the shops have steps.

Brother is looking after DS1 so I can shop!! DS2 has his hearing test so that is why I can go to some decent shops for a change.

2beautifulgalsandasnowglobe · 07/01/2009 20:14

Kay- been meaning to ask you, are you using the reusable nappies and how are you getting on?

Cosmogirl · 07/01/2009 20:17

Bummed that I miss out on the grant by 7 days No fair!

Glask - I managed to track some of the alcohol free pear cider down in Morrisons. Was pretty impressed with the effort - tastes like pear drops but takes ages for me to finish a whole bottle.

Kooky - sickness is good sign but hope it doesn't get too bad for you. Mine started bang on six weeks and at 28 weeks I am still struggling with all day nausea and it is the hardest thing I've had to cope with. I hope giving birth cures it - I am going to eat so much food when I feel better! With the stone I lost and put back on during the bad vomming days I have only gained 7 lbs so far during pregnancy.

2beautifulgalsandasnowglobe · 07/01/2009 20:25

Cosmo- if you have a really nice midwife or doctor they might sign the form for you and just re-adjust your date on it by 7 days? you may go over anyway so may give birth after the 6th. That would be my arguemnt. Worth a try?

kayzr · 07/01/2009 20:32

2BG, They are really good. They are more likey to cause nappy rash though so you have to really keep on top of it by using a barrier cream.

I do feel like I am constantly using the washing machine.

Cosmogirl · 07/01/2009 20:33

Definitely worth a try Really hope I don't go over 7 days though!

2beautifulgalsandasnowglobe · 07/01/2009 21:25

Kay - which ones do you use? Just been looking at them on Kiddicare. DH isn't so keen but i really want to give them a go. when did you start using them? Not with the black sticky poo
Cosmo- definately worth a try, not going to cost the GP or midwife anything to add a few days!
