tinkwantsherbaby · 07/01/2009 10:44

kay number still not working
does anyone else want to give me there mobile number

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 07/01/2009 11:04

tink- just tried to CAT you, my email is [email protected] if you wanna email? then i can send you my number... will text you now kay to see if its your phone playing up or something.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 07/01/2009 11:11

Kays number works from my phone tink....

Diege- i think i'm gonna have to take the pic the week she's born or something... how did you do it? my dad was going to do the baby pic for me and lie her on a white blanket (he's got a special camera and can then crop it to the correct size on the pc) I can't see me getting her in a photo booth at a week old somehow!! If all else fails i may just have to tuck her under my jumper when we're asked for passports!! think i'd get away with a 6mth old up my top??

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 07/01/2009 11:23

Glask, yes I would take asap after she's born. The problem with dd3 was that she smiled in the piccy, that we were told would be ok, but then refused by PO. I took dd to one of those photo shops (Klix??) and they just took one of her in car seat. Eyes do need to be open, which may be difficuly with newborn. Advantage is that they will take another for free or refund if PO reject, and have correct lighting/background etc.

Diege · 07/01/2009 11:28

Just checking I am un-Rudolfed!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 07/01/2009 12:37

Right... will see if i can find any of them photo-shops near us to take her... if not can get my dad round for the day and as soon as she's got her eyes open take lots of pics and hope that at least one may be ok!!

Thats going to be the only problem i think, although i have to get the other 2 DC's passports too, aswell as a new one for myself!! Got the forms on their way. Think my passport ran out 3 years ago now... just not been bothered to get a new one yet, and then i now have to suffer the consequences by doing 3 at the same time, and then having to do another one aswell!! Think i'll have to send ours off asap so they are back asap... then i only have to worry about getting DD2's done once she arrives!!

Diege · 07/01/2009 12:49

I had to do four of them at thge same time too GLASK, and it was a bit of a nightmare. You have plenty of time though, and you do sound super-organised!
Well my chocoholic-ism seems to have returned...have always been a 2 bar a day girl, but have been off it the last few months. Have made up by eating 2 mini-rolls and a bar of fruit and nut just now...mmmmm..and I could eat more..

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 07/01/2009 13:00

i'm not normally a fan of chocolate but when i was carrying DD and also this time i'm mad on the stuff!! I keep pinching the kids chocolate bars from their selection boxes .... after all they did get 7 selection boxes each!! and they dont normally eat chocolate!! so i dont feel too bad, but i've eaten about 3x as much as both of them put together!!

I'm looking for a lightweight pushchair, from either 3 or 6mths, preferably a lie-down one, that will go into a travel bag and not an umberella one.... anyone know of any that isn't a 'quinny zapp'?? it's for DD2 when we're on our hols!! might post in the pushchairs section to see if anyone else can help me!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 07/01/2009 13:03

funny you say i sound super-organised too!!...i'll let you into a secret about my organising OCD- for this holiday i've even got a spreadsheet on the PC to list everything we need to buy, save, get etc, total prices and also a list of what we are saving when and made a checklist so we can make sure we're all sorted!!

tinkwantsherbaby · 07/01/2009 13:13

will email you thanks glas

tinkwantsherbaby · 07/01/2009 13:13

i am getting tightings again

kayzr · 07/01/2009 14:14

Tink, It is the right number the second time so I don't know what is happening.

I love my hair!! It feels so light and I had so much cut off. It is now at my shoulders and I've had layers put in it. DS2 slept the entire time and DS1 got given some chocolate so all were happy. I'm thinking of dying it black but still not sure.

Glask, You need to come to my house here in sunny Yorkshire and organise me and my life. I am not organised at all!!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 07/01/2009 14:29

i still need to dye my hair actually Kay- have had the dye sat waiting since a few days before xmas and still not got round to it!!

I think i want this with this for baby....

kayzr · 07/01/2009 14:34

Thats really nice Glask. The colour is very nice too.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 07/01/2009 14:43

just looked on other websites and its £399 for the package at two-left-feet... its £365 on ebay (both not inc postage costs) and if i buy from kiddicare i can get that package for under £250 inc postage costs.... BUT i have already got a pram for baby... i need to buy a lightweight one for our holz, and had a limit of £50-100 for that... my thinking is if i sold my mamas and papas i could buy the micralite package and it would then mean i dont need to buy a new pram for the holiday... thus saving £100 off our holiday spends....

I dont know if he'll go for it, but its worth asking him right?? after all i am also selling a lot of things on ebay, so i can put all ebay funds towards it too!!

someone tell me its brilliant and DH will go for it?? he's such a grinch at spending money... but i think he'll like the funky design of the micralite... he likes stokke prams and bugaboo bee's and quinny buzz's... he like cool funky looking prams, so i'm hoping that will also go in my favour!!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 07/01/2009 14:59

Spoken to DH- he's going to 'look at it' when he gets home, and see if her likes it, if he does i think we'll be ordering it!! anyone dealt with kiddicare website?... Kay did you get yout P&T from them?

kayzr · 07/01/2009 15:02

They are amazing Glask. Really quick and they text you to say when it will be delivered. They also add in a free toy.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 07/01/2009 15:05

Ace- How much is postage? It's £231.94 before p&p... just took a pic of the pram on my phone to send to DH as i wanna order it now!!!!

kayzr · 07/01/2009 15:10

Free on orders over £50

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 07/01/2009 15:14

brill!!!!! so even cheaper than i thought!!! wuhoo!! DH better love it now!!

kayzr · 07/01/2009 15:18

Yeah and when they text you they give youthe option of adding up to 3 days to the delivery date incase you wont be in.

I'd buy everything off there if I could.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 07/01/2009 15:44

have spoken to my mum, she's going to lend me the money until payday (a week friday) so i am hoping DH is ok about it.... I am desperate to buy it now!!

Diege · 07/01/2009 15:45

Agree GLASK, kiddicare is superb. Great service. Am hoping they stock the bugaboo bee when I come to buy mine.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 07/01/2009 15:53

DH and I like the bee... we have currently got this mamas and papas pram... but i would much prefer the micralite if i can get it!! I'm hoping the Free p&p, and looks will go in my favour with him!!

Starshinetiger · 07/01/2009 16:09

Tink - v. exciting re. tightenings. Still holding on to my Friday bid for d-day for you. And, those weights aren't big - they're healthy baby size!

Glask - if you're looking for one from 3-6 months onwards, I would really recommend the Maclaren Techno XT. Is light, easy to maneouvre (sp?) and is actually suitable from birth as lies flat. Also, you don't need a sunshade, as hood is expandable to cover whole pushchair with viewing window. We got this when DS was 9 months old, but plan to use it earlier with DC2, although will probably still use old travel system from birth (if we don't get a P&T). We took it to Australia with us when we went to my brother's wedding and it was brill - folds up small too and has good shopping basket. As you can probably tell, I love it. You can get bright accessory packs to brighten it up too! Not sure if you are really wanting carry cot, but this does lie flat and says suitable from birth. Is also bargainous £135 in Mothercare at the mo!
here
I also know that my friend has the Maclaren Techno XLR, which she used for her DD from about 3 months - having chosen this above the travel system she had been leant by a friend by that stage. here
Maybe I should be on commission for them!
