No. I have to buy some big knickers, baby gros and, now I'm not having a section, remember how to give birth before I'm embarking on that, thank you. Oh, and I'd quite like a nice sit down first, too.

Morning ladies. DS came down with the V bug yesterday pm and I have been up with him in my bed all night Am cautiously optimistic this morning though as he seems quite full of beans and hasn't been sick for a while!

I missed nearly the whole of the last thread - How come you're not having a CS now HOM?

Calico, better still why not get PIL to take DS to the park? Just got back from taking DS on his new bike (too cute) and our park is rammed with grandparents!

Spotty, sory to hear about DS. it's evil when they're that young and throwing up , isn't it? unlike the perineal consultant, the ob consultant seems to think there is a good chance my bottom won't fall apart if I have a natural delivery and although I don't fancy running the risk of that happening I think I am even more scared of a section so that is now the plan. It does mean that having spent the last 7 months thinking labour was one thing I didn't have to even think about that I now have just a few weeks to get my head around it all!

Hope everyone had a good day yesterday. DS has finally "got" the opening aspect of presents so has moved on from the opening one present and playing with it for hours before opening the next one to racing through all of his and moving swiftly on to opening mine! Helpful boy... I was really pleased though as DH and I and MIL had managed to be very restrained this year so he didn't have too many presents, DS was ridiculously delighted to find a satsuma in his stocking he spent pretty much all day with DH putting togther a Lego helicopter.

I slipped off the wagon and a glass of Bucks Fizz with lunch and I finally gave into my Sherry craving!

Sympathies spottyshoes. At least these things are fairly short-lived. We're all much better today, tho still a bit delicate.

DH and I went straight to bed as soon as the DDs did last night! Tucked up at 7.30pm.

Hello all - hope everyone had a good day yesterday and got lots of lovely thoughtful pressies - and hoping everyone who was struck down with lurgies - or had their family struck down with lurgies - is feeling better now.

DS was like Pink's kids -first present he opened was a peppa pig camper van from my sister and he just wanted to play with that and ignore all his other presents. We spread them out during the day, culminating with an authentic old school rocking horse from his doting grandma (total surprise!). God only knows (a) how we're going to get it down to our house and (b) where we're going to put it when we get it there - though DS loves it!

HOM - am sure you'll pick up all those things you need in the sales (well, maybe not the remembering how to give birth again...) and then you'll be ready (after your sit down of course).

TBM - Fifi is obviously aiming for a january arrival...

P.s. Santa brought DS his much longed for scooter - took it to the playground yesterday in Hove and he came off on the way back to the car, scraping his nose and giving himself a goatee graze on the chin. Not so keen on the scooter anymore. Ho hum....

Feeling a bit better today, anti biotics have taken effect and brought down the swelling of throat infection, still wiped out just left with a cold now. I had bad cold few weeks ago too and was the same. usually i just get on with it (dont we all) but wondering whether being pregnant too makes it bit worse? think just energy wise.

Well been spoilt hubby has been home this morning too so had him all to myself since christmas eve when he came home early at 8pm just to look after me, cutie.

Hope you all had a lovely day with all the kids yesterday. I now have a 10 drawer chest FULL of baby clothes, people go mad when its your 1st dont they! Seriously not had to buy any clothes at all sorted for at least 6 months. Wonder if she will get to wear them all!

hello all, hope everyone had a good christmas.
We had a nightmare, my mother was a complete pain and basically ruined it for everyone. (she somehow 'lost' the doll she'd promised DD for xmas and gave her a stapler! a bloody stapler??) She refused to take her medication, check her blood sugar levels etc and had us all running around like headless chickens. This morning my poor DH went in to wake her to get her ready for my brother to collect her and she was collapsed on the floor! Several glasses of lucozade, blood tests and insulin later, she was stabalised but I have to say, it was the worst birthday I have ever had. Thankfully she has gone to my brothers now so DH and I have just cuddled up on the sofa and watched a dvd which was lovely. I've also managed to eat my first proper meal since Saturday which is good (very pleased that still 7lb lighter though!) A bit depressed about being officially (I think?) the oldest mum and mum to be on this thread. 41 years old

MOS - you deserve a lot of chillaxing time after all those traumas, I hope the next few days are better. I'm only 2 years younger than you and DH is 46 so don't feel blue. Anyway the new arrivals will keep us all feeling young!

I thought I had shaken off the bug by Xmas eve - but it returned with a vengeance yesterday evening so I'm back on the diet I think Dinky suggested: toast, bananas and yoghurt. BORING. DS has a dose of it too. All the same we had a lovely couple of days in the bosom of family and I even mananged to pick up a pair of silky PJ's in the John Lewis online sale that I've had my eye on for a while: reduced from £66 to £22 no less. Now I'm sure I'll be looking glamorous after labour

yay for swampy, I'm only just the oldest!
Yes cocodrillo, today is the awful day. I was born at 2am on boxing day so my mum had a crap christmas that year (maybe this year was payback from her???)
I've just had a real 'sod it' afternoon after getting rid of DS and DD at their aunt and uncles house so just DH, DD2 and I at home. Have been naughty and had bucks fizz and some stilton and crackers (I know I shouldn't but......) am going to have a lovely bubble bath now. I've figured I must smell as for xmas and birthday I have received over 10 packs of smellies with toiletry bags etc (briefly sniffs under armpits!) am also going to be naughty and turn on the jacuzzi in bath but won't have it too hot as I think that is a little bit too naughty..
mmmmmm turkish delight, sounds lovely, shame we haven't got any but seem to have about 5 boxes of ferrero rochea (or however it is spelt)
Hope everyone had a fab christmas and is now relaxing.
TBM, are you still with us?

Happy birthday MOS, hope you are having an indulgent evening as it sounds like you deserve one.

DD2 was born on Boxing Day two years ago. None of us could face the birthday cake today, thanks to the dreaded norovirus, but she loved her toy garage and gazillions of cars to go with it.

Oh Happy Birthdays everyone

Your mother MOS

I'm only 11 months younger than you as well....

Right now Xmas is over, I can concentrate on this baby.....need to pack a hospital bag and start washing the clothes in the loft!

LittleSez.....no they don't get to wear them all (my DD didn't).....I used to dress her in things just cos I thought I should as someone had bought it for us....when all you really want is to keep them in babygro's which are easy, can be tumbled, and don't need ironing

Good news about your bottom HOM (sounds strange saying that!!!) I am doing the rounds at all the antenatal classes this time round as am technically a 1st timer re labour.

Good morning everyone btw

I am 30 today! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

No longer in my 20's!

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Thank you for all your birthday wishes lovely people.

I am still in bed! DH has brought up a cup of tea and popped to the shop to get bits for breakfast. I am having smoked salmon and scrambled eggs- yum.

We've got DSD today so we're going to drive out to the coast for a wintery walk by the sea (it's very frosty here) and then off to my Dad's for dinner.

DH bought me a gorgeous silver locket and a new digital camera with a little printer so I can take lots of photos of bubs when he arrives.

34 weeks today- 6 weeks to go wooooooooo!

Happy birthday MS, hope you have a lovely day today. (haaa, moaning about being 30 though, wait til you get to your 40's!) How lovely of your DH to buy you a locket. I got a beautiful gucci watch as a joint xmas and birthday present (he actually wrapped it in half xmas and half birthday paper and I got it yesterday) I did know about it though as I'd seen it a few weeks before he got back to the UK and it was HALF price in the jewellers so he told me to get it on our credit card. Not a surprise but much better than our first xmas/birthday together when I got a beautiful satin negligee which would have fitted beautifully if I was a size 12 and not a 16!
Happy belated birthday wishes oooogs, must have missed that, probably when my head was down the toilet.
Thanks everyone for my birthday wishes, much happier now knowing I'm only just the oldest and there are a few of you not far behind me. I'm having a bit of a belated birthday, DH brought me breakfast in bed and has just taken DD up to visit nanny (the sane)r) one and then to pick up DS and bring him home. DD1 is going down to Wales today with her nanny and grandad for a few days then to her dad (gets very confusing when you are divorced) and then back to boarding school for her in January. I'm therefore having some MEEEEEE time which is lovely. Think there might be some more bucks fizz in the fridge...
cocodrillo, hope you and your bunch are much better today and that your DD had a nice birthday and enjoys her cake today. Well done on getting her a birthday cake. My mother used to always take the snowman and santa etc of the christmas cake (as no one ever ate it on xmas day) and put a happy birthday badge on it for my birthday (am I making my mother sound awful?) she's not that bad, just mad and doesn't think. A bit worried about the after effect of her antics on kids. Eldest two (15 and 12) think its funny but poor DD (aged 2) was saying today 'nanny fell out bed on floor' as she was right behind my DH when they went into see her yesterday morning. Hopefully she will soon forget.
anyway, hope everyone is ok and has a good day

Happy birthday MS and everyone else who had birthdays over Christmas.

MOS I'm only 5 months behind you 41 in May....but I'm actually feeling younger than I did in my thirties if that makes sense?? Your mother does sound a bit eccentric - bless her.

Have managed to persuade DH to take DS and PIL to Brighton for the day to see BIL. I graciously opted out as there wasn't enough room in the car for all of us. Yay!!! A day on my own!!!

I'm going to run a deep bath in a minute and wallow
