Evening everyone! Hope you are al ok! Haven't slept in the same bed as DH for days now as I just can't get comfy and toss and turn all night keeping us both awake

We assembled the cot today and I ordered myself one of these and a matching one for DD - she is so excited about the baby coming!

In the middle of washing all my baby stuff (there's so much!!)

Speaking of cars (I feel you pain Dinky ) we have decided to buy an S-Max for me to replace my beautiful convertible SAAB 93

Dinky ive seen those on top gear i think ( or one very similar recently ) they are lush

HOM i got the baby bjorn one for DH really as hes quite into the idea of carrying lo around like that as i just had such a hard time with my back with previous babies ( im twice your weight and more besides with this baby on board ) that i didnt really get on with baby carriers at all. However i am mindful that lo might be one of those babies who want to be carried all of the time and i will need to invest on a wilkinet or something similar to make carrying around for me anyway more practical and less painful.

Have been out most of the day with a friend and her sister in law who is a first timer due in March so the talk has been of babies (and reusable nappies Swampy)!

Going to DH's mum's for chinese food tonight as it's her 60th birthday.

Have been having low down tightenings, shooting pains up my fanjo and BH all day, my friend put her hand on my bump during a BH and couldn't believe how hard my stomach was!

Lbb. If you can't get hold of a mattress to fit I just bought a one from Kiddicare. It was £14.70 ish I think, but it has a lovely padded washable cover on it. They do a range of mattress sizes so you could probably find one to fit. I have always found Kiddicare good but I think you pay for delivery these days if under a certain amount. There were mattresses in Toys r us / babies r us at £9.99 they also had some stands for £10.
Pluto, we bought a rocking/ slider type chair and footstool first time round and used it loads but to be honest never used it as a rocker. a comfy chair would have been perfect for feeding in, reading stories in. not using it this time. Using a nice arcmchair type one instead.
TBM & Fifi2, so gald you r getting on ok. Am slightly jealous thet you are there already but that is unreasonable as you have so earned your 'been there done that badge' we've all yet to do and come out the other side.
Have washed baby clothes for third time today??? and they are now drying.
Had pergnancy brain mush when first time put baby clothes sensitive washing liquid in conditioner bit of drawer and clogged whole thing up. second time forgot to put anything in. third attempt dh took over. You'd think I'd never washed before.
Right am now going to put on Pj's and sit and watch tv while dh puts ds to bed.

Rosie - DH loves our babybjorn (couldnt get him and DS out of it when DS was a baby) and I used it too until DS was 1. Was fine on my back provided I made sure DS was positioned correctly (lots of people dont and they have horrible backache). This time round we'll continue to use the BabyBjorn but have also invested in a Close baby carrier (as the one thing I found about the baby bjorn was that it was hard to sit down with DS in it - as he was so long and my torso is so short - in a soft carrier you have a choice of positions so you can put them in sideways carry to enable you to sit down if you want). That said, DH is raring to go with the Babybjorn again

McDreamy - sympathies on the loss of your lovely car too But how cute is that baby carrier - with a matching one for your daughter too? Brilliant.

fgpl We got the basket from Toyr r us so was thinking of trying to get there, or look on-line I suppose.

I also want one of those backpack baby thingys ( havent a clue what they are called ) for DH for the summer when we go out walking and suchlike with the girls and dogs - babies just look like they are having such a great time in them and they are up really high and can see lots They look so cute but i think they are definately for older babies who can support their backs and stuff ... will look into it.

Mc dreamy, poor you having to let the Saab go. how awful. thats what dh has and couldn't imagine not having it. You poor thing. I really do feel for you. I parted with my 3 series coupe (black & extra shiny) due to having a child issues.

Dinkystinky _ what on earth is moxibustion?! I'm intrigued. I shall google now! Good tip re acupuncture. I may look into that if nothing's happened by end of next week.

pluto - I heard about the moxibustion stuff through a friend who used it in last pg. She said it was the only thing that got close to turning her baby. Just google it and it should come straight up.

McDreamy- I know what you mean about giving up lovely car. I had SLK 230K but had to get rid of it cause apparently its illegle to put your baby in the boot! We got an S-Max too which is a really good car but not my SLK!!!!!I miss it!!

Does anyone else find they have unlimited energy as long as they don't actually sit down?

I've gone into nesting overdrive and that on top of normal household and SAHM duties plus doing a bit of paid work at home means most days I don't really sit sown at all and I find I can keep going all day. But as soon as I sit down I am overwhelmed with tiredness. The upside is I am sleeping really well at night!

All this talk of cars has made me realise that we haven't actually checked to see if we can fit another car seat in our tiny Punto. Well, hey ho there's always the boot...

I'm still here - the midwife said that as it is number 4 (well only the 3rd really) that I will get very realistic 'false' contractions - great so I could be here a while.

37+1 and 3/5 engaged so we will see.

Hi all,

Just popping in to say hi. I've had a very busy week getting ready for this baby - washing clothes, blankets, sheets, getting the changing table ready, packing my hospital bag and generally nesting. All this in between some terrible nights sleep, terrible back ache and general aches and pains in most parts of my body! Thank god I'm 37 weeks in a few days and will hopefully not have to feel like this for too much longer. Pregnancy is definitely no longer fun for me, I'm so uncomfortable and ready to have my body back.

Anyway, I don't have much to say other than that it's only 20.50 on a Saturday night and I'm looking at the clock wondering if it's too early to go to bed. I'm so tired!

Oh, and I can relate to sausage fingers, mine have definitely taken on the look of a healthy Cumberland or two.

Must try and get on to MN more, wouldn't want to lose all you lovely ladies!

Hi, glad to hear everyone still OK and no more babies. We've been up to Bristol today looking at a couple of VW caravelles. DH is planning to start negotiations on Monday - not sure how cheeky to be... I know the used car market is pretty flat at the moment.

THOM - to answer your question from a couple of pages back, I experience the 'ripenings' as a kind of opening pressure in my cervix area. Does that make sense ? Also 2 car seats in Punto should be fine in my experience.

TBM, great to read your birth story - it does aound like you felt much more in control, despite having a GA. I hope Sian is still feeding well.

Have written birthplan tonight and feel generally 'ready'. Past 38 weeks so...any time in the next 4 weeks suits me fine (although preferably not during masterchef!)
