Lemonade? Oh no - I have to have it hardcore! I have really been craving red wine so have a very expensive (for me anyway) bottle which has been sitting in the cupboard for a month just waiting for tonight/tomorrow. Sad I know.

I think I want it more than presents

oh yes, il be having a glass of wine tomorrow too...and bucks fizz for breakie
I was talking with DP last night about the first time I can go out & drink again - It will only take 2 glasses of wine & il be pissed!
Ive never been much of a drinker at the best of times, but 9 + months of basically none will take its toll.

I remember my first night out after ds was born. I ff him so falling straight off the wagon wasn't a problem. He was about 3 weeks old I think and me and a girlfriend went for dinner in ZiZi's. We ordered a bottle of Pinot (well she did) and then said she'd only have 1 as was driving next morning, which left me most of the bottle. Was I tipsy!!

I don't really like lemonade, it gives me a headache.

This baby is going mental, I don't think I can stand up as I might pee myself, movements are so uncomfortable now as room must be running out. It feels like he is trying to strtch it all, and how to I tell him to get his head off my bladder and his elbow away from my bowel?

I'm planning on a spritzer at lunch tomorrow and then another when exchanging pressies at the in-laws in the evening. John is planning on a lot more than that!

Think I'll only total about a bottle of wine all pregnancy - John's dad says his wine bill has gone down considerably since May! Seeing as every time we went round he'd open a bottle of cava (just for me as they all drink red) that doesn't surprise me!

I am sooooo having a drink.

I was going to bore you with all the housework I've just done but I won't.

Needless to say it is a lot! Woo! I love having energy!

rosie Been to docs and have a throat infection got some penicillin too, hope it kicks in soon!

I always get ill at christmas, i think its because i dont really take holidays so when i close my sessions for two weeks at crimbo my body just goes bleurggghhh. Only this time im not going back wahooooooo!

re sex Have been so deprived, hubby has been working ridiculous hours so just not had any, boo hoo, he also mentioned that he feels a bit weird doing it with the baby moving around so much Think thats it for me and then im assuming there is a time period after birth ?

I am going to ignore the state of my hpouse to lie in bed and feel sorry for myself for the rest of the day, supposed to be out tonight for drinks but dont think i can face it, see if i make a miraculous recovery!

Aww gawd three days spotty! I dont mind if i still have the blockage and stuff i just want the pain to go away.

Did you mention Cava MrsY? mmm that puts me in a mind for some. Maybe a glass this evening perhaps but dunno if i can because of the amoxycil ... anyone?

I am going to start to peel spuds shortly and prep veg, its nearly time for my second dose of paracetamol today so will wait for that and get cracking

I think that DH will be getting a bit squiffy tomorrow too and just for once im not jealous, i have already planned my wetting the babies head night out in London with a friend for May time so will have that to look forward to. I have decided that a nice takeaway, nibble and a few good dvd's on NYE are going to suffice, i just cant be bothered to go out!

LLB ive tried a few times to ask lo to get off my bladder but he is determind to stay there - good luck, you can but ask eh?

Sorry you're ill too littlesez
Are you the only one here that actually wants to have sex? I did it out of guilt the other night.
After ds was born, I think we did about 2 weeks after, didn't wait 6 weeks. You'll know when you're ready.
I'm supposed to be doing housework now but can't b bothered. Have to do it though as leaving for mums later......

Report
MrsChristmasY · 24/12/2008 12:49

Yeah Rosie cava/champagne is the only wine that I like and John's dad likes a little splash as well, so I'm usually still in the hall when I'm offered a glass of 'sparkle'! He's already shown me the magnum he's bought for us to wet the baby's head! I was drooling! I'm sure you can have a glass...

rosie You will be absolutely fine to have a drink whilst on those tabs. They will not stop them working (so have been told by a friend who is GP receptinist and by a microbiologist lab person). They tell you not to drink to encourage you to give system a rest but it won't affect the tabs working. There is one anti-b that it will cause actual sickness (given to alcoholics to wean off booze) but that's not amoxicylin (I don't think)

I didn't give a thought to drinking/taking meds - how bad is that! It's my last day on them today though.

My 1st 'night out' after DS was born was our NY day party where I got absolutely hammered and still to this day swear I will not do it again! He was born in April but I had to wait 9 MONTHS for him to sleep through and therefore not wake up for a feed from the bar me. So i'm looking at around November next year before I can have more than 2 glasses!

We also waited 8 weeks to do the deed and even then I only did it in a sense of duty/now or never kind of way Poor DH gets a bit of a drought unless I am We are TTC

Not too much of a sex drought here LBB ... and we returned quite quickly after DS3 was born - but the most important thing is for people to honour their bodies and not get back in the saddle until they feel ready .

evening all, just dragged myself to the laptop having been in bed for most of the last 3 or 4 days. DD bless her has been ill the last 3 weeks or so and then Thursday came down with the V & D bug. She seemed better by Friday pm and then Sunday morning just before a house full of guests arrived she started projectile vomiting again. Needles to say, by Sunday night I had it and have just surfaced (on the brightside, 6lb lighter!) Poor DH on the verge of leaving as we are lumbered/blessed with my elderly mother for christmas. Poor bloke had to drive to M & S yesterday morning at 8am to collect the turkey, then drive halfway up the M1 to collect her at a service station where my brother from Yorkshire had deposited her. Then late last night she decided she had 'lost' her epipen for her insulin (very dependant diabetic) and had all sorts of stupid readings (rosie, you will understand this, they were in the region of 20+) As a result, we were on the phone to NHS direct trying to find a late night chemist to get another pen and in the end my poor long suffering DH had to go and beg at the local A & E.
Anyway, I hope that everyone else is much better than me. Have had a quick catch up (once I found the new thread) and hope everyone who has been ill soon recovers and thank you laidback for missing me. I felt so special. Hope everyone has a fabulous christmas and I'm now crawling back to bed xx

have decided santa is in the mood for a bailey's tonight

kids are still up.... had intended on an early night for them but haven't quite managed it. had a lovely roast chicken dinner though, dp has given up an awful lot of traditions in favour of mine and bless him the only one he really misses is the xmas turkey so i thought i'd treat him tonight... turkey a bit impractical for the 2 of us though so did a yummy free range chicken. dp is beaming and we're stuffing ourselves full of cake while the kids play with their xmas eve presents.

off to parents for dinner tomorrow and spending the night... hope the 6 cats don't revolt and destroy the house while we're gone... should be ok though, i'll be back earlyish on boxing day to tend to them..... how much damage can some 6 week old kittens do anyway? ....... o dear god, my house will be destroyed!

funnily enough i'm still quite enjoying sex atm.... fairly sure i'd given up at this point with ds but short of being a bit less agile than normal i haven't had any probs.

agree with laidback though, don't rush into the post birth shag.... even without any damage it's a scary experiance... didn't hurt me either time but the nerves made it a fairly unromantic experiance... also beware if your bfing... things get a little dry so either go for a quickie or invest in some KY jelly as chafing a post baby fanjo ain't fun

rosie, sorry the abs aren't working too quick, sadly amoxycillan was what i had a few weeks back and it was fairly slow working. hopefully it'll kick in tonight for you though... try having a really hot steamy shower to unblock the sinuses a bit

Blimey you lot....shagging.....can't remember what that is. My DH is in the "not in front of the [unborn] baby" camp.....I actually wouldn't have minded a while back but right now everything aches and I feel and look knackered and fat and wouldn't want to do it even if he fancied it....As for post baby shag...one thing at time

Just finished take away curry. My whole body aches and I can't wait for bed tonight. We're off to my in-laws tomorrow so I can do NOTHING all day hurray ! DS is the only child so he'll get lots of attention from his Auntie who chose not to have any kids but is pretty good at reading/singing/general entertaining of a toddler. We were supposed to be off to my parents on Sunday with my brother/sil and his three kids but his poor little 5 year old has been taken into hospital with pneumonia. He's been poorly for a few days but they really didn't expect this. My mum and dad have decamped their entire fridge of food and the presents over to their house instead ! Not a great way for my nephew to spend xmas and my sil is sitting with him in the hospital whilst my brother is at home with his other two.....(with mum on hand to help out).

Anyway, hope you all have a lovely day and will check in again in a couple of days !
Merry Christmas !

Happy birthday Oooggs!

My quote of the evening is 'chafing a post baby fanjo ain't fun' - pink that is hilarious!

Anyway, I have worn myself out with my antics today, everything is wrapped, everything is cooked, DD is fast asleep so I am about to tiptoe upstairs and leave her stocking at the end of her bed.

Night all! And a Merry Christmas xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
