Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
laidbackinengland · 05/01/2009 10:03

Oh well lbb, sounds complex, but at least he gets to come with you

littleboyblue · 05/01/2009 10:06

I'm so excited!! Hopefully after the washing baby clothes, packing hospital bag, being on here talking about pregnancy and having a baby have all failed in this whole thing hitting home, maybe this'll be the thing that will get me actually thinking this is real iykwim

LittleMissNorty · 05/01/2009 10:07

Good news LBB about scan. What time is it?

I'd love to have another scan now before he/she comes......

Aww your DS is lovely! My DD is a cutie only when she wants to be....she should be asleep now, so I'm gonna hoover then have a doze myself

littleboyblue · 05/01/2009 10:12

Aren't they all like that LMN and they are well aware of their cuteness and try to get away with murder, as long as they have that little grin on, they know we can't get too angry. Little terrors!
Scan is at 2:15. Not been scanned at this stage before so am really excited to see what he looks like and see how different it is from 22 week scan.

dinkystinky · 05/01/2009 10:14

fantastic news about your DP being able to make the scan LBB - what a nice supervisor he has! Hope you both enjoy it - remember, just enjoy the scan and ask however many questions you want to.

LittleMissNorty · 05/01/2009 10:14

and how big of course .....enjoy.....he'll be in your arms soon

littleboyblue · 05/01/2009 10:24

I know!!!!!!!!!
dnky I don't really like his supervisor, he's one of them that know everything about everything! But he does come through on certain things.
I even have dreams about how much he annoys me. The other night I dreamt he came home with dp and told me not to put ds to bed if he was crying. How random is that? Told you all I needed to be sectioned, and what's worse I had the ump all day because dp's boss said something to me in a dream. What a nutter!

I am so unorganised. Don't really know what I want to ask. Obviously the size, but wouldn't put it past me to completely forget why we're there LMN.
Depending on what they say, I suppose the effect induction will have on me and baby and do I stand more of a chance having intervention with or without induction. If induced, will I need to stay in hospital for days after delivery? And please confirm it is a boy!

PinkPoinsettias · 05/01/2009 10:37

great news about your dp coming to the scan lbb.... you must be so relieved.

have to trundle into town now and put money in the bank to pay the loan... looks freezing out there and i'll have to go to the dump and do the recycling while i'm heading that direction..... brrrr. wish we had snow.... send some over my way girls!

kung fu panda had me in tears last night i honestly though he was going to rip the waters open, rupture the placenta or tear my tummy muscles straight through. he was moving so awkwardly all evening i was uncomfortable anyway but at one point he literally seemed to try and climb out the front of my belly and i actually screamed in pain...... i've had 2 drug free labours and never once screamed but this little sod is making me scream just carrying him

i'm so ready for this preg to be over.....

Questionkid · 05/01/2009 10:55

Morning all - I'm enjoying my first official day of maternity leave by sitting on my backside on the sofa and putting my hospital bag list together. Thanks for the thread on FB about it ladies, I've entirely based my list on your own! I'm waiting for DH to wake up (he was on a night shift last night) and we're going to go out shopping later to get anything on the list we don't already have.

Can sympathise with anyone with swollen feet and hands, I've had that for a couple of weeks now. The MW said it's pretty normal at this stage and as I can still get my rings on it isn't too much to worry about.

Sorry you've got to go to your scan on your own LBB, what a shame. It doesn't sound like there's anything DH can do about it.

Happy Monday everyone.

dinkystinky · 05/01/2009 11:05

Pink - last night I had music on before bedtime (which ALWAYS gets this baby moving) and did some yoga breathing exercises which involve chanting (which again always get him on the move) so I think he'd basically tired himself out before bedtime. Am going to try the same again tonight to see if works tonight too...

Questionkid - glad you're enjoying your mat leave.

littleboyblue · 05/01/2009 11:28

PP Poor you, sounds awful. Soon be over.
Ds is just having his lunch and then is going for his nap. Have done bits and pieces round the house too and managed to find all the puzzle pieces! We've played some musical instruments and managed to get dressed, all in about an hour! How good is that.

MarkStretch · 05/01/2009 12:02

It's still snowing.

McDreamy · 05/01/2009 12:06

We've just made a snow family and now come back inside to warm up! (Photos on fb). Sun is out now but I think the forecast is for more snow around here!

Feeling really tired today. Trying to keep my legs up as much as possible. Haven't been able to wear my rings for weeks and weeks!! There is ironing calling though

KazzaL · 05/01/2009 13:44

Hello Ladies - hope you've all had wonderful chrimbles & super new years - I can see from FB that some of us made the most of a last chnace to party and looked very glamourous in party frocks. Haven't been on MN since last at work before chrimble, so must have missed loads, but as i shouted at DH everytime he went nr the computer at home, couldn't very well do it myself.

Like most of us I;m getting very fed up with being pg now, due date is 5/6 weeks away now depending on docs or my calcs - still have 22 days left at work too - no-one at work thinks I will make it till then as they all reckon I;ve got huge over the hols - too many left overs prob

Finally started work on the nursery yesterday as I;m starting to panic that we haven't sorted anything and DH will be sorting it all out while trying to look after DS while I'm in the hosp. I also had a remeber about all the things I need to buy for my hosp bag like big pads for boobs & bits - I'd forgotten all about that. Got a few bags of haribo too

wonderful news about TBM - she must be chuffed to have made it so far.

Not much snow here in Gloucs although it is worse further north, at least it is warmer than it has been, hopefully I won't have to unfreeze the chicken's water in the garden when i get home tonight.

america · 05/01/2009 14:31

Hello ladies, I've had a wonderful internet-free xmas and seems like I missed the first birth announcement! Congrats TBM!

I had a bit of a scare today on my 34 wk check-up as the MW said that my bump is too small for my weeks and is sending me to an emergency scan too. Hope everything is well with you LBB. DH has missed all scans so far so I told him to be there tomorrow morning, lets just hope he won't have any trouble at work because of this. I'm not panicking...

I actually got some of DS's old newborn size clothes out of the boxes, they are absolutely tiny! Also ordered some nappies and moved DS to his new bed and ordered a new mattress for his old cot. I guess that's it then. Still another three weeks to go and then I'm on ML too...

MarkStretch · 05/01/2009 15:06

Hello again Kazza and America.

I just collected my car, it was having the passenger airbags deactivated so I can put the baby in the front, and they had CLEANED it inside and out- even the manky upholstery! I am so glad I cleaned all the plastic shit and old sandwiches educational toys out of the back of it before I dropped it off.

Saves me heaving my fat bum into the car and hoovering it myself! DH did say I would have to have it disinfected before I was allowed to put the baby in it

PinkPoinsettias · 05/01/2009 15:28

MS, dp has made similar comments about the state of mine but tends to go very quiet when i point out that i can't clean it myself at this stage so if it bothers him maybe he'd like to do it?

tbf, it wasn't clean when he was driving it either and i'm in it alot more with 2 incredibly messy toddlers so a bit unfair to suggest it's all down to me!

did it cost you much to have the airbags deactivated? want to get it done in mine as if i don't have a pasenger it's a bit daft squeezing 3 of them in the back.

MarkStretch · 05/01/2009 15:39

Pink- it cost £120 which was but without having it done we would need to take 2 cars out if we all wanted to go out together (with DSD too) and I want to be able to have the baby in the front with me when I am driving.

My car was a bit of a pain though as it's an X reg Polo- the year before they introduced the switch so you can turn them off yourself so they had to order a 'deactivation kit' for mine which of course put the cost up.

I may point out to DH that the reason my car is a mess is because it is ME who ferrys children around while he swans about in his valeted car ON HIS OWN!

PinkPoinsettias · 05/01/2009 15:51

ouch...

wonder if my focus has a deactivation switch? it has isofix points in the back so there's a chance it may. will have to root out the manual tonight.

i haven't even checked if the seat, a booster and a highback booster all fit in the back of it yet.... not sure i want to know the answer tbh as i have no alternative!

LittleMissNorty · 05/01/2009 16:06

Definitely worth checking PT.

Both our cars have switches. One on the inside of the passenger door when its open, and the other on a menu thing. I had to change my car 3 weeks before DD was born as my Nissan Tino didn't fit my car seat in the back, and the dealers were unable to deactivate the air-bag.....so definitely worth checking.

PinkPoinsettias · 05/01/2009 16:15

damn... made dp go out for the manua and it doesn't look like it does.

oh well, car has to have timing belt done asap anyway so hopefully my very helpful mechanic will do it for cheap when he has the car ripped apart anyway.

MarkStretch · 05/01/2009 16:17

Just had a text from MrsY- she has been admitted to hospital with possible pre-eclampsia.

John's hopefully going to be with her soon but he had to work and has gone home to get her bags.

Will keep you all updated with any news.

We love you MrsY!

PinkPoinsettias · 05/01/2009 16:33

hope everything is ok Mrsy.

lots of healthy baby vibes to you and lo

gosh, it's all seeming rather real this week isn't it?!

Neeerly3 · 05/01/2009 16:40

hope you are ok MrsY.....sending well baby vibes.....

WE have just purchased a new car to house our ever growing mob....Citroen Xsara Picasso, it has three full back seats, so can fit 2 x high back boosters and rear facer while leaving mummy with the comfy front seat. We will keep our peugeot 206 SW as the run around car as it will fit all three kids in, and will also fit all 5 of us at a stretch if we are not going far. Should get that this week, so will start to get used to it before baby arrives.

How is everyone? Baby is doing head piroettes on my bladder while simultaneously kicking my stomach, so have piles, a sore bladder and heartburn - WONDERFUL! why did I want another baby again?

PinkPoinsettias · 05/01/2009 16:52
