lixanismapolium · 22/12/2008 06:32

So excited to be starting my first thread!!!

Just had a BFP this morning a couple of days before AF is due and according to FF, my EDD is 1st September 09.

I have one DD (March 05) and had MMC in late September this year, so a little nervous but really ready for this.

Looking forward to a few more people joining me on here!

Hello - just adding myself! Very excited and intrigued at how different this feels from my first pregnancy. Did the test on DD's first birthday!

mumtobe23 · 07/01/2009 12:50

Hi all! 5 weeks and 3 days for me. Very nervous first time mum-to-be! Have had no signs other then sore boobs & missed period & seem to be eating more then ever, i have a doctors appt on the 15th so im hoping he can confirm every thing is ok for me too....according to the online due date calendar I'm supposedly due 4th sept...fingers crossed for everyone to make it to the "safe" 13 week mark! xx

cautiousmumtobe · 07/01/2009 13:50

Finally confirmed last night after days of waiting and a few negative tests. DD per the docs will be 30 Aug but I know it's more like 11 Sept.

Very cautious at this stage as had a MMC at 21 weeks in August - would have been due this week otherwise. And that's after an MMC before having my DD in May 07. But hey, its great to have some good news to start the new year and to join all you guys.

Lix - if you are still around, I'm so sorry to hear your news. I think your attitude of getting back in there asap is great and I can definitely recommend it. This week is so much easier to bare now that we have something to look forward to.

Hello

Got a bfp this morning!

It's very early days for me, approx 4+0 (need to work it out properly)

Haven't even told dh yet but couldn't keep it in any longer! I go by another name usually but have decided to go incognito on the pregnancy for now.

cautiousmumtobe · 07/01/2009 14:06

Congrats unhinged. Definitely agree with the going 'incognito' at this stage. We want to wait as long as possible before we tell with this one but its so hard not to share. Thats why this site is a godsend!

HellHathNoFury · 07/01/2009 14:06

I am not sure how mine is going. No signs other than a seriously bad back and with mega attitude issues . Tried to do another test but it was broken and they are sending me a new one so will try that when it arrives.

bigbang · 07/01/2009 14:07

Hello! Can I join too? Got BFP this morning- can't believe it as it was only our first month trying. I have a ds who is almost 18 months (July 07), EDD is 14th Sept for this pg. Is anyone else trying to keep it a secret till 12 weeks? Dp wants too but Im bursting to tell someone already. Also, when are you heading to the GP to get the ball rolling? I don't think I saw a midwife till 13 weeks last time but I can't remember.

Andi I'm not 100% sure but I think its common to get a false neg but pretty unlikely to get a false pos test so hopefully you are pg? Can you get some more tests and do another one tomorrow morning? Fingers crossed for you. My only symptoms are bloating and spots (started getting them only a few days post ov), my ms didn't start till 6 weeks with ds so I'm planning on making the most of the next two weeks and eating what I like -new year diet over already!

HellHathNoFury · 07/01/2009 14:07

perhaps I should lay off the booze...?

HellHathNoFury · 07/01/2009 14:08

bigbang - am seeing GP tomorrow, I think I am 6 weeks?? Not sure. They just book you in to see midwife now to chat about weight, history etc. Can go in anytime.

HellHathNoFury · 07/01/2009 14:12

Dammit. On diet... ruined by eating a kitkat chunky.
I couldn't help it! It called to me as I walked past

Unhinged · 07/01/2009 14:19

I don't think I will be able to keep it a secret until 12 weeks as my job is at risk of redundancy so I will have to tell work asap.

With my first we meant to keep it quiet but I was quite ill with MS so I had to tell work then too as I needed time off.

No real symtoms as yet, a bit queasy with an odd taste in my mouth and those little lumps you get on your nipples.

I am a bit shocked and keep rambling

I didn't get a bfp until nearly 6 weeks with my first!!

HellHathNoFury · 07/01/2009 14:20

I have no problems with keeping it a secret.

I made the error of telling my mother who may as well have put an ad in the sunday rag.
grrr

bigbang - I was told by a nurse in the hospital during my first pregnancy that it wasn't possible to get a false positive. You might get a positive and then lose it in very early stages but a positive is a positive.

I'm booked into the GP on Friday but only because I need to go in to see my consultant early this time around. From past experience, they don't do much except notify the midwives that you have had a positive test and will need to be booked in for a 12 week scan. Then its just a matter of waiting for the scan date.....

Hellhathnofury - this is a perfect excuse not to embark on new year dieting! Altho I might have to use the excuse of being on a new year detox to hide the fact that I won't be drinking on a night out this weekend!

bigbang · 07/01/2009 14:36

Ah cautious hopefully that info will reassure andi0411 a bit! I will leave it a few weeks before I visit GP I think, maybe when I reach 6 weeks.

Hell, I just finished a bag of m and s fruit gums and I may have to sniff out the xmas chocs I hid when I planned on dieting this Jan... Opps...

HellHathNoFury · 07/01/2009 14:36

Cautious - alas, BFP or no BFP, I am the size of a mid terrace house and need to shift some.
If I don't, I will get midwives bleating on at me again about diabetes, and besides, I have enough weight on me to keep me AND bump going for some time to come!

cautiousmumtobe · 07/01/2009 14:42

Thats when sickness comes in handy. I lost loads of weight when I had DD as I couldn't keep anything down between 6 and 20 weeks. Managed to make up for it eventually tho!

I was on diet pre christmas, abandoned over the christmas period and was planning on getting back into it this week but I think this news has just destroyed that plan. Esp when there are cakes in the office and left over christmas chocs to be scoffed. The bean needs chocolate don't you know?!

devonsmummy · 07/01/2009 15:36

went to docs this morning and been given a due date of 13th September - although I think it should be slightly earlier as my cycle was only 22 days.
have 1st midwife appt on 29th.

anyone else suffering with no patience at the mo?
My DS 26mths is driving me crazy - things that usually wouldn't bother me are making my blood boil!!

undercovermummy · 07/01/2009 16:00

Wow i cant believe how many there are us!

I have just made my midwife appt for the 4th Feb when i will be 8w3d. It seems like such a long way off!

Dh is making me keep it a secret, but i am failing miserably. i just want to tell people even though i am only 4w3d. It's so hard.

I have gone off food a little and only seem to eat if i feel nauseous.

With my dd i felt so rough for 14wks that i think i lost weight to begin with. She was born 4ks early and i had only put on 1.5st. With ds i gained 3+st. I am hoping not to gain too much as it is such a bugger to shift afterwards. i bf dd for 8mths and even that didnt shift all of it.

HellHathNoFury · 07/01/2009 16:01

Devonsmummy - yes - normally fairly quiet and easy going at work. Todays 30minute meeting became a 90 minute battle because I WOULD NOT LET IT GO.

Told off DH this morning.

Keep snapping at DS.

Must learn to be nice ...
well the name HellHathNoFury wasn't without reason I suppose.....

Hi - still no symptoms here, which is nice in a way as I had the sickness with my miscarried pg, but it would be good to feel something different!

Undercovermummy - know how you feel. I too put on 3 stone with dd and am still carrying about 10lb of it - grrr. Will try and be more disciplined this time !!

I have contacted the mw and she will be getting back to me with a booking appointment date soon - hopefully in about 2 weeks as 8 weeks is about the normal time they see you here. Scan is booked for 27.1 so less than 3 weeks - can't wait, am being scarily impatient. Need to know all is as it should be after last time.

detoxdiva · 07/01/2009 16:23

Oh and knew I wouldn't be able to keep quiet - told best work mate today !

bigbang · 07/01/2009 16:26
