So excited to be starting my first thread!!!

Just had a BFP this morning a couple of days before AF is due and according to FF, my EDD is 1st September 09.

I have one DD (March 05) and had MMC in late September this year, so a little nervous but really ready for this.

Looking forward to a few more people joining me on here!

Headfairy and Missymoos I'm so sorry about your news. Look after yourselves.

Bobber - hope the spotting stops soon.

smileycat · 24/01/2009 09:05

missiemoo so sorry that this one didn't work out for you. I know it doesn't help but things do happen for a reason & its your bodys way of rejecting something that wasn't quite right

Bobber I have two days of pink when I wiped around 6.5 wks when AF was due & then it all cleared up, so hopefully this will be the same for you..my fingers are crossed for you

So sorry, MissieMoosMummy . Life can be so crap sometimes. Thinking of you - hope you've got lots of people to look after you.

Bobber thinking of you too. Hopefully spotting will stop soon, but know how worrying it is.

silentlywondering · 24/01/2009 13:44

Sorry to hear your news Missiemoo.

We could have a meet up of the midlands mums at the fort the way things are going. There are some child orientated things in the Dunlops old base stores building.

honestlyandtruly · 24/01/2009 15:49

Oh Missiemoo, I'm so sorry .

Bobber, please try not to worry too much. Fingers crossed for you.

Welcome to all the newbies .

Geepers · 24/01/2009 17:36

Is it okay for me to jump in on these threads? I am pregnant with baby number 7, but it's a surrogate baby so will only be here for the pregnancy.

By the dr's dates I am due 14th September, but I ovulated late and the scan should show around 5 days later.

TrixieBelden · 24/01/2009 17:43

Geepers - welcome - what an enormously generous thing surrogacy is.

So sorry to read Missiemoo's news, though. Take good care.

Hope everyone else is well this weekend.

GracieGirl · 24/01/2009 18:16

Geepers - welcome, its nice for us first-timers to have an expert about!

Hello. Thought I'd take the plunge since still seem to be pg (touch wood). Due 09/09/09, first one...

Geepers · 24/01/2009 20:06

Thanks for the welcome

bexaa this is the second time. I had twins in March and they were surrogate babies.

This time it's a little different as biologically the baby is mine, whereas the twins are not.

WantedToBeABoy, what a cool birthdate. I hope this baby arrives on the 9th.

StealthPo09IsHere · 24/01/2009 20:24

Welcome Wanted and Geepers - wow to surrogacy, do you know if you are an MN first?

No idea if there are other surrogates Stealth, I expect there must be one or two lurking.

bexaa, I see the twins as often as I like. I hope they will always be a part of my life. They are so beautiful but in no way do they feel mine. I love them more than I love my other friends babies, but not as much as I love my own children. I'm always sad to say goodbye to them, and shed a tear or three, but they are probably my proudest achievement.

And I don't mind you asking, I could talk about surrogacy and the twins all day

silentlywondering · 24/01/2009 23:14

Not to far from the fort, my nan used to live in pype hayes so I know the area quite well.

StealthPo09IsHere · 25/01/2009 12:57

morning, anyone around?

iamamummy · 25/01/2009 13:13

morning stealth - im around - feeling hideously sick and yuk though!

welcome to all the newbies, geepers thats a very generous and selfless thing you do you must have great pleasure bringing the most specialist of gifts to those who cannot have their own children.

StealthPo09IsHere · 25/01/2009 13:18

oh dear
I'm eating, as usual!

bobber · 25/01/2009 13:51

Good morning all

Missiemoo - I am so sorry - take good care of yourself.

Hello to the new BFPs (wow - Geepers - am totally in awe of you)

Thank you so much for all the good wishes. Well, Im still in limbo really . No spotting since Friday but pains got worse last night. We rang NHS direct & they said to go to A&E to get checked out. Doc there was very nice, but diagnosed a threatened miscarriage. He said hormonal bleeding type spotting/pain patterns would not give me that much pain,so it had to be something else. He said it couldnt be SPD related (I had it very badly with DD & I had similar round ligament pains to start with at 17 weeks) as the uterus doesnt move up until about 12 weeks. He said keep fingers crossed and dont do too much. If pain gets worse or spotting starts again to go straight back.

But what did piss me off, when he read the scan letter from the consultant (which said I should have another scan at 8ish weeks) he said it was essential that I book another private scan because of what was happening!!! So in spite of my history of 2mcs, my age & my current diagnosis of a threatened miscarriage I was being expected to pay for a private scan because I'd already paid for a reassurance one! But then, bizarrely,he said if I was still in pain on Monday to go back to A&E & they would refer for a scan.

Pain is worse when I stand or walk, so Im still hopeful its SPD related & bubs is fine. Will probably got to A&E tomorrow to try to get this scan, but may go to GP instead to see what he thinks?! Worried about being off work though. Not sure what to do.

Do any of you know about bad period type cramps at 8 weeks that has a good outcome?

StealthPo09IsHere · 25/01/2009 13:54

I don't know anything about this bobber but sorry you are having such a tough time. Will be keeping my fingers crossed that everything is OK.

bobber · 25/01/2009 14:10

Thanks Stealth. Just googled again & found a similar query asked on babycentre & there were 4 pages of people with similar symptoms & their docs had told it was ligaments as 8 weeks is a key time for it to happen apparently - they all seemed to get scans to make sure too. Apparently drinking loads help?! - will def. try that. So im feeling a bit more relieved now.

So I think I may try my GP first thing & see what he says (he is v.experienced - the A&E doc was much younger than me, so he may be a newbie doc?) & ask for a scan.

StealthPo09IsHere · 25/01/2009 15:28

that sounds really positive - and i assume you'll be a lot more likely to get pain in that area as well because of previous SPD. Hope you get a scan soon to put your mind at rest

iamamummy · 25/01/2009 19:22

bobber have evrything crossed for you, if its any reassurance i am suffering back ache which i had horribly bad with ds...it seems to be setting in very early this time around. is there any way you could see your gp and get a scan tomorrow?? xx
