So excited to be starting my first thread!!!

Just had a BFP this morning a couple of days before AF is due and according to FF, my EDD is 1st September 09.

I have one DD (March 05) and had MMC in late September this year, so a little nervous but really ready for this.

Looking forward to a few more people joining me on here!

Is any one else looking rather rounded by mid afternoon/evening?

iamamummy · 25/01/2009 21:17

over here - permanently rounded 24/7 make u feel better?!

pooka · 25/01/2009 21:22

Me too SW! It's like my stomach has moved up and outwards so have weird high bump that is most definitely not uterus/baby. Am rather bloated too and seem to get full really quickly. Is strange.

Wonder whether is just because my stomach muscles are now non-existent after 2 dcs?

Pooka that's it exactly and I was wondering if it was because this is my 5th pregnancy! I am being asked quite a lot when is it due and cause I find it hard to lie I get very shocked looks when I say Sept then they as k ohh is it twins. Erm dunno not had a scan yet!

My cleavage has always been quite impressive but is rather spectacular I am thinking I will need new bra's soon yipee more expense and fun trying to get a good fit with support please. I started off at a 38E before having children and have slowly crept up to a 38G over my previous pregnancies am wondering where on earth I will end up as I rarely lose weight in that department.

iamamummy · 26/01/2009 08:52

i dont get it....my bust never seems to grow?! the only time they got bigger with ds was when my milk came in - they looked gorgeous! despite the pain but after a few days they deflated back down to their usual itzy bitzy size

BabyLady · 26/01/2009 09:46

Morning ladies,

Sorry you're not feeling so great Bobber. Fingers crossed for a good result at your GP.

I must admit to being quite alarmed by my chest expansion. I am also quite generously endowed and didn't really need a boost! Oh well, my twin sister said they went back down after her baby so here's hoping. It is making getting dressed for work quite difficult as all my work shirts have started to gape. Instead a buying a whole new work wardrobe I am wearing them with vests to disguise the "chest effect".

JRocks · 26/01/2009 13:32

Hello ladies, tentatively adding myself to the list! I think I'm due 25th Sept, but that's subject to change... I'm trying to be quite chilled about the whole thing and not get excited, I guess because I don't want to be disappointed. I have DS 3.2 already, who has declared that a baby brother or sister will be called 'Pete'

Congratultions to all who are expecting and so sorry to read about some of the difficulties there have been...

mummy2t · 26/01/2009 13:32

morning! i got my BFP last week, i am 6 weeks this week, due 23/24th sept. Got ds1 5 years and ds2 11months xxxxxxxxxxx

mumtobe23 · 26/01/2009 13:43

Hi!
My boobs seemed to have doubled in size this weekend! But no other signs of feeling pregnany right now, even the sickness has gone away, although i am loads more tired!

Also does anyone know what happens at the first midwife meeting? I am 8 weeks today and have an appt on wednesday. Will she take blood or is to just have a chat about things and get weighed? I HATE having blood taken I have a needle phobia!
This is my first xx

ChutesTooNarrow · 26/01/2009 14:01

Hello all

I thought I would add myself rather than continue lurking. I had my BFP on the 12th of Jan, this is my first pregnancy, and my EDD is 17th of September. I'm 29 (well for a few more weeks!) and live in Southampton.

I'm also wondering about blood being taken at the first midwife appointment, I had some taken only two weeks ago and pathetically cried all the way through. I hate it!

Snowfalls108 · 26/01/2009 15:06

Welcome to all the newbies.
September is going to be a busy month!
Have we got someone with an EDD for each day now?
So the tiredness is an absolute killer for me. Driving yesterday I had to stop after an hour to shut my eyes for half an hour - madness. Can't cope without an afternoon nap. Anyone have any inspired magical ideas of how to boost energy.

My appetite has returned with a vengence today, suddenly very very hungry and raided the fridge - lunch was a whole avacoado, a whole pot of cottage cheese, lots of salad, two peices of parma ham, and two pieces of cheese on toast! (oh and a pain au chocolat this morning after my porridge!)
I'm justifying it because my supper seems to come straight back up each evening so think I should make the most of eating during the day
Travel sickness bands seem to very helpful for anyone else who's suffering with MS.

Can't wait for my checking in appointment next Monday, then it will feel more official somehow.

Went to a big do this weekend with lots of friends, had told my BF before and between her, her DH and my DH we managed to disguise my not drinking. Can't wait till we can tell more people. This stage of being pg is very frustrating, lots of bad bits and not many plus points!

Goodness this is a long message!

efd32 · 26/01/2009 15:56

Hi, new to mumsnet so not sure how it works. I am Elaine, baby due around 24th Sept but yet to be confirmed by scan. A total surprise but wanted and already have two little boys, Presley 2 1/2 and Lewys 15 months. elaine xx

TrixieBelden · 26/01/2009 17:53

Hi Elaine!

7w4d here, sleeping whenever I can, vaguely nauseated all day still but no vomming (yet) and no appetite (unlike with DD, when I was a vomming machine and yet needed to eat everything I saw). I find that walking outside helps the tiredness so much -- if I walk DD to nursery and back (2 miles) rather than drive, my whole day is different. No weight gain yet or bloating yet, which again is v different from last time. If this were my first I'd say I felt rubbish, but in comparison to last time, I feel terrific!

Had my booking appt scheduled at the hospital for next week, but they called today to ask if the midwife could just come round to my house on Wednesday morning instead. I nearly wept with joy. Sooo much easier than struggling with parking at the hospital and dealing with childcare. All in all I'm feeling very upbeat about being pg at the moment...which is emphatically NOT usual for me. Hope I'm not the only one!

efd32 · 26/01/2009 18:27

I am great at the moment too. Have sickness but not unbearable. Would love time to sleep during day but with the little ones running around, not likely.

Cannot wait for the scan as it will check everything okay. I had a gyny op on 9 Jan, preg test neg before op but still worried. Took diclofenic for few days after it, spoke to surgeon who will see me in clinic on 4 March, seems an age away.

No weight gain yet for me, but I'm still fat after the last two babies, so really not wanting to put much weight. Back at work tomorrow, had last two weeks off to recover. Dreading it.

soooo bloated at the moment esp in the evenings, can't wait to get home, get out of my work clothes & put my pjs on.

Feeling sicky in the afternoon/evenings but haven't been sick just yet

Boobs have filled out lovvvvely, have always had just enough but over the years they have headed a little more South than I would have liked, but they are as perky as anything now...dh is happy

Have a second scan booked tomorrow so hoping all is well. I will be 8wks + 4days & I think they will then book me in with the MW & start the paperwork trail

Hope everyone else is feeling ok this eve

StealthPo09IsHere · 26/01/2009 19:05

Hi everyone, welcome and congratulations to all the new ones!
Definitely bloated here too - I look 6 months pregnant at the moment.

cautiousmumtobe · 26/01/2009 19:14

Welcome to all the new joiners. This thread must have loads of us now.

Smileycat - am in my pjs as I post! Not too bloated and fortunately lost a bit of weight before getting pg so clothes are a bit lose. Mind you, just had to get out of my jeans tonight.

The ms is settling in nicely now - wake up in the morning feeling delightfully sick until I eat something and have to lie down after breakfast or it comes straight back. Whilst its a rubbish feeling, I'm glad that the symptoms are starting to kick in cause hopefully that means all the right hormones are at work. Having been quite ill with my last two pgs, would have been pretty nervous without ms to be honest.

Bobber - any news today? I've got my fingers crossed for you.

bobber · 26/01/2009 19:44

Evening girls

Home at last! An eventful, but reassuring day. Saw GP first thing - mistake in hindsight - he dismisseddiagnosis made by A&E but want able to offer any suggestion why I was feeling in so much pain. Said he didnt think a scan was good idea becuase it can give you false hope becuase if things are wrong, you may well lose bubs straight after the scan. I saw what he meant, but didnt feel remotely relieved.

So then I stupidly tried to bypass A&E toget the scan they promised & left a message on the scan dept answerphone & waited for hours with no reply. So it was back to A&E! Was actually sent on to gynae dept and saw fab doc who has an answer . He did thorough examination (inside & out) & thinks it my old scar tissue from my c-sec, which has built up debris layers & so my uterus is struggling to stretch as it should. It makes so much sense as it is agony when I cough, and that is what clinched it for him.

It will continue to be painful as it stretches but it doesnt do any harm to bubs. He checked HCG levels & mine is 120,000, which he said is v.good & thinks Im relatively safe from miscarriage as I can be for the moment! And Im getting a scan on Wednesday to see how things are! Yay!!

Thanks for all your support through this. Its wonderful to have people who really understand what Im going though to share it with.

kookykid · 26/01/2009 20:58

yay Bobber! What brilliant news. Sounds like the gynae doc was fab and really able to reassure you. Must be such a relief.

I think I've had some stretching pains too. Don't remember this from my pg with DD, but was much more relaxed about everything last time.

Welcome to the newbies!

I am struggling at work with a boss who is a complete and utter b*tch. She seems to have it in for me at every turn at the moment. Just want to tell her I'm pregnant and to leave me alone, but don't want her to know yet. Roll on half term!

iamamummy · 26/01/2009 21:12

evening ladies

welcome to even more newcomers! september is certainly a busy month!

bobber - great news you have found an answer and great you are getting a scan on weds!

still very of these expanding bosoms!! and sorry to all who are suffering with ms - its awful isnt it?! i just had to cook dp garlic muscles and practically just had to disinfect my whole kitchen to mask the smell! i hate cooking smells and feeling nauseus too...

we are going through a buggy dilemma at the moment ds will be 19 months when the new baby arrives but i still think he is too young to have to walk everywhere...so dont know whether to get a double buggy or use a sling for the new born..any one else in similar situation?

iamamummy · 26/01/2009 21:14

oh also is everyone else aware of the new government grant that pregnant women are entitled to for women who are due after 1/04/09...its £190 and you get it at 25 weeks pregnant to go towards staying fit and healthy throughout pregnancy.

silentlywondering · 26/01/2009 21:27

Ohh hadn't heard about that? Is it means tested?

iamamummy · 26/01/2009 21:33
