So excited to be starting my first thread!!!

Just had a BFP this morning a couple of days before AF is due and according to FF, my EDD is 1st September 09.

I have one DD (March 05) and had MMC in late September this year, so a little nervous but really ready for this.

Looking forward to a few more people joining me on here!

woo this thread moves fast. I'm trying to keep up but you don't make it easy

So pleassed the scan went well Bratnav. it must have been such a wonderful moment to hear that little heartbeat.

fingers crossed for those looking for a scan to put your minds at ease. Am still shocked that care seems to vary so much around the country.

I laughed at LittleCheese crying about vinegar. I got so angry yesterday at a web page that wouldn't load. I seem to be fine in the mornings and go downhill rapidly in terms of tiredness, mood and galloping heartburn after 3pm.

Still haven't heard from the midwife, and there's a weird part of me that thinks it's because she thinks I'm making it up and then I start wondering if I have made it up...

congrats to all the new BFPs

Wow it's crazy busy on here. Great to be seeing lots of other people going through the same thing.

Congrats on your scan Bratnav.

Constant worrying now seems to be on the agenda Detox. Seems it will never end. Starts with worrying about trying to get pregnant and then just continues!! Can't even drown my worries with some nice wine .

Also feel like I am starting to get a little chubby..surely it's too soon (I am in denial a bit I think and need to snap out of it)?? Think I am 9 weeks today. My sister describes the early process as "thickening around the waist". Nice! She didn't mention why my behind and other parts also seem to be involved.

paranoidmummy · 21/01/2009 11:28

Can I tentatively join? I think I am due on 20/09/09 but will prob have baby earlier as will be elective c section. I have a dss, ds1 (Nov 2003) and ds2 (April 2008). Ds2 is deaf, which is genetic. I will be having a cvs at 12 weeks to see about this one, which is why I am tentatively joining as there is a risk of miscarriage . Oh, I'm 25

paranoidmummy · 21/01/2009 11:30

Added myself, hope that's ok. Will update when I know more about due date but put 20th for now

Have started a stats thread - is a good idea and we had one in the Sept 05 ante-natal club. Means less scrolling up.

Trixie - not sure what to say really. You might be able to be seen at an EPU though, so I do think is a good idea to see the GP and get referred if that's the way it works.

Had a hectic couple of days. DDs new bed arrived, so built that, moved her old bed into ds's room and ds's old bed into the spare room. Which was meant to become a study/bedroom but if all goes well will now be chocful of furniture and a baby/sttudy/bedroom (but obviously not for a long time).

THen this morning was pottering in dd's room when heard a massive WHUMP from downstairs and a scream from dd. Ran downstairs and discovered that a massive section of the ceiling in the playroom had fallen in. Thankfully dd only has a tiny graze on her foot. Ds was upstairs at the time. DD was feeling a bit under the weather anyway, and I feel crappy today (headachey and sick) so have not sent her to school. Didn't help that dh on his way to cornwall for the day.

So have cleared the playroom - 4 rubble sacks filled using garden shovel and then 5 hoover bags filled with plaster dust. Dust everywhere.

Then back upstairs and built the new desk for the study (for which there will be no room in about a year's time ). And just bundled the kids in the car so could move it round the corner because the road is being resurfaced tomorrow. Oh and made a lemon drizzle cake.

So a bit knackered now!

Stats here

detoxdiva · 21/01/2009 14:37

Bratnav - good news about the scan. How many weeks did they say you are now?

Bexaa - hope you get your referral to put your mind at rest.

I had mine at the EPU this morning - saw the sac and the heartbeat, but am having to go back in 2 weeks as I am measuring less than 5 weeks when my dates put me at 7+5 . My cycle is usually longer than 28 days but I can't see that I am so far out, so hopefully the next scan will be more reassuring

silentlywondering · 21/01/2009 16:11

Pooka - Slow down woman. Aren't you supposed to be taking it easy.

silentlywondering · 21/01/2009 16:14

Ohh and thanks for the stats thread. Have updated my details a bit!

bobber · 21/01/2009 16:24

detoxdiva really good news about the heartbeat, but its very strange about your dates - with the new dates, how many days past the new ovulation did you test postive, to see if it is possible with those dates (ie did you get a positive test too early for thsoe dates)? Does that make any sense? You do read about slow-burner babies that suddenly catch up, so there is a very good chance all be absolutely fine even if the dates are wrong.

I've had a bit of a frantic day of worry. Got consultants report this morning & he recommended another scan in a fortnight. Then panicked that things hadnt looked right after all & wasnt told. Stupidly spoke to amidwife at the hospital who said there was no way a consultant would recommend a scan unless absolutely necessary. Got email back from consultant who said it was for reassurance, as mine was so early and you could see far more in a fortnight. We've decided not to go for it as cant justify spending another £100. Last scan made me panic the following day anyway, so will be good & wait for the nuchal.

TrixieVix · 21/01/2009 16:51

Well, just spoken to my GP who was lovely and said he'd do his best to get me a scan appointment at the EPU hopefully tomorrow, and if not, then Friday. He said exactly what I knew already, that there was nothing I could do at this stage, and if it's not meant to be, it won't.

Have had some more bleeding today and still got the tummy ache, but still feel really sick, so am still holding out hope

Pooka - are you crazy? You're supposed to be taking it easy!! I thought I'd had a busy day seeing the HV for DS's 2 year developmental review and went to Asda!!

HeadFairy - hadn't seen you post on here before I replied on your other thread. How are things? Got my fingers crossed for you.

Bratnav - that's ace! Really pleased everything went well for you yesterday.

Arghhh - am rubbish....haven't been note taking, so am just hoping everything's going well for everyone

pooka · 21/01/2009 16:56

Fingers crossed for you TV.

NOrmally I am really quite lazy so don't know what got into me today. But I simply couldn't leave the playroom as it was - it was horrendous. And dh not back until late tonight, and it was just sort of leering at me. So had to clear it.

But did have an afternoon nap for the length of Postman Pat, Come outside and an animated cartoon about elephants.

silentlywondering · 21/01/2009 17:04

Pooka is T into everything as much as D is? I am finding it difficult already running round after a very active three year old. I am looking forward to him starting Nursery in September! People in the know keep telling me to slow down and behave but as they only have 1 they don't realise that with 2 you can't just sit with feet up and be good!

silentlywondering · 21/01/2009 17:06

Ohh and the little swine still doesn't sleep for much more than 5 hours at a time!!!!!

pooka · 21/01/2009 17:17

Oh how lovely SW - I've just worked out who you are! How strange to be back on the same AN thread.

T is actually pretty chilled. He is naturally more self-contained than dd and is way better at pottering gently and role playing with toys and stuff. DD is more of a people person, and very much wanted to be entertained and played with. It helps that dd (now 5) plays with T a LOT and she is also a mini health and safety executive officer with well developed paranoia re: danger. And is also a bit of a tell tale

detoxdiva · 21/01/2009 17:27

Bobber - try not to worry. How many weeks/days are you now? I should imagine that he's just recommending another scan as you'll be able to see more in 2 weeks. It's a total worry all the time isn't it??? Take comfort that you've seen the heartbeat. I have booked a nuchal at Pinehill for 20th Feb - but may have to change this now if the next scan puts my edd back by a week or more.

I got my bfp on 29th Dec - which would have meant getting a positive a week after ov - surely too early?? Think I ov'd on cd 21 so could easily be 6+5 instead of 7+5, but think that less than 5 weeks is not possible. Looking forward to the next scan to be more sure

Welcome paranoidmummy - keeping fingers crossed for you.

Hangingbellyofbabylon · 21/01/2009 17:42

I am driving myself mad with worry, even though I had a scan on monday and we saw a heartbeat at 5w6 days. I just feel sick to the core and am sat here waiting to bleed as I just feel so sure i'll have a miscarriage. Don't know how to keep from thinking this way, it's so many weeks till I'm out of the danger zone. I feel especially upset as I foolishly told my dd's (aged 4 and 2) that I'm pregnant and I'm so worried that I'll have a miscarriage and they'll be really upset as well as me. . How do you handle the paranoia? I had 2 miscarriages before the dd's and dd1 was only 11 months when I got pregnant with dd2 so wasn't really aware of what was going on and all the worry I had.

nat1972 · 21/01/2009 18:10

Hiya...this will be my first baby and my first posting! EDD is the 4th September so I am a little bit nervous / excited as I have no idea of what to expect....

bobber · 21/01/2009 18:17

detoxdiva It would be unusual to get a positive at 7 dpo, but I've read about some that early on super sensitive tests (FRER). Bubs is hopefully a bit of slow-burner and the dates are somewhere in between.
I'm 7 weeks 3 today according to letter, so a day ahead of what I thought. So many coincidences, detoxdiva, as I was just toying with the idea of booking a nuchal at Pinehill on the 20th myself! Got my Lister one on Feb 23 when I'll be 12weeks 1, as they only do them on Mondays, so I just miss out the previous monday, & am desperate for it to be asap so if I need CVS it can be quick. Not sure how quick results are with Lister - will phone & check. Im just so impatient - as if 4 days is going to make that much difference - I need my head seeing to ?!!.

Hangingbellyofbabylon - I am so with you on how you're feeling. Its absolutely wretched, isnt it. I dont think I can put myself through this again if things dont work out.

HellHathNoFury · 21/01/2009 19:00

welcome nat1972.
We're all in the same boat, nervy times

iamamummy · 21/01/2009 19:31

detox - i might be wrong but i am sure you cannot see a heartbeat at 5 weeks. its so hard for them to tell anyway at this stage as you are talking mm. hopefully the next scan will be clearer and tally more with your dates.

hi to everyone else will post more tomorrow am just so tired!!! and thirsy....gulping ribena like its going out of fashion!

kookykid · 21/01/2009 19:39

hanging i know it's not much help, but lots of us are feeling this way - it makes me feel better just to know there are other women out there going through the same thing. (I have been rushing to the loo all day sure I was bleeding.) I think we're bound to have good and bad days. Nothing to do, but sit it out til 12 weeks. So frustrating. None of it helped by all the mad hormones rushing round our bodies causing our emotions to be all over the place.

Welcome to the madness, nat!

GracieGirl · 21/01/2009 19:40

StayFrosty - I've been laughing all day about your comment about being able to smell a mouse fart 17 miles away! I know what you mean. I just wish i didn't work in A&E where really strong smells are far too common!
