So excited to be starting my first thread!!!

Just had a BFP this morning a couple of days before AF is due and according to FF, my EDD is 1st September 09.

I have one DD (March 05) and had MMC in late September this year, so a little nervous but really ready for this.

Looking forward to a few more people joining me on here!

Hi Anna - Congratulations! Snowfalls108 with you completely on the emotional thing. I got in from work last night, exhausted and just burst into tears. This was followed by a huge spell of dizziness this morning (it was a bit like walking on a ship when I got out of bed this morning - not good). Be glad to get the next few weeks over and done with.

I've added myself to the September list..

Congratulations everyone

detoxdiva · 20/01/2009 19:00

Bratnav - any news from the scan?

Iamamummy - I too am hoping for a home birth this time...have a waterbirth plan that didn't work out with dd (someone was already in the one that they have in St Michaels in Bristol ) - dh is hoping for a warm September evening so I can give birth in the graden while he's on the bbq!!! Men

kookykid · 20/01/2009 19:07

Snowfalls and newbie - am with you on the over-emotional thing. Got all choked up this morning when they played Stevie Wonder!!! Tragic.

Congrats, Monkeyfeet! Feel free to add yourself to the list.

LittleCheese · 20/01/2009 19:21

i am also very emotional, ive had a couple of cry's. one because some storage i wanted to buy has been discontinued and once because i had some chips and we had run out of vinigar, i think i have issues

I saw the doctor today my edd is 21/9. Sil wedding in yorkshire over 100 miles away is on the 26th so I guess thats out of the question then! Seeing the midwife next week. Feeling really sick now. Didn't feel sick with ds2 but did with ds1!

littlewifey · 20/01/2009 20:50

Hi Bexaa, is it mums in solihull? I went there for an early scan when I had my MMC. Obviously the outcome was terrible, but the staff there were wonderful with me and I'm very glad that (if I had to find out such crap news at all) I found out there rather than the hospital, iykwim! I too am really worried today. I have had no MS at all and did have really sore (.)(.), however today this has gone! This happened with my MMC so am fearing the worst for a second time (sad)

littlewifey · 20/01/2009 20:56

Bexaa.. meant to add that I'm sure if you have felt sick before, then not feeling it for one day is nothing to worry about. Lots of people say their ms comes and goes some days. Hope that you feel sick as a pig tomorrow x

TrixieVix · 20/01/2009 21:00

Got mild period like cramps and had some brownish discharge (sorry if TMI) so of course I'm fearing the worst.

Not really sure where to go from here....do I make an appointment with GP, or just phone and explain or just wait?

MS has also disappeared today (how ironic that I was wishing it away yesterday) but have come over queasy on and off throughout the day.

Arrghh - just wish I knew one way or the other.

How is everyone else?

littlewifey · 20/01/2009 21:09

I would phone the docs in the morning and see what they say TrixieVix. It's crap isn't it Try to stay calm though (I know easier said than done) as brown discharge is often just old blood xx

bobber · 20/01/2009 21:23

Evening ladies

TrixieVix - do make an appointment with your GP for reassurance. You will only worry yourself about it otherwise (& thats not good for you or bubs) & they are so used to seeing similar situations for reassurance, so my hospital told me. Nausea came come & go apparently & is normal for that, but do get the cramps & discharge checked.

detoxdiva - so sorry you've been poorly, but its great you've got a scan to check all is well. The Lister were really good with my preg with DD & my last miscarriage - cant fault them on anything. Will be thinking of you tomorrow.

Gosh - the list is long - congrats to the new BFPs.

I had my midwife appt today. As Im 40,hypothyroid & had a C-sec last time I'll get more tests & checks, which is reassuring. Was dreading BMI check as was convinced I'd be high risk, but am 29(no further action!) so at least I got a tick somewhere !

Morning all.

Trixie - go to gp an get checked over sweetheart.

Welcome to hangingbelly and monkeyfeet.

Don't talk to me about (.)(.) mine are killing me. Nausea seems here to stay. And this morning I have the mother of all headaches. Have to pick myself up and get on with it though as I have a nearly 7yr old to get to school and a very active 3 year old to look after. Still feeling very nervous and am counting down to the early scan on the 16th.

Had to go for a thyroid function test yesterday. Not fun. The phlebotomist stabbed me 5 times and still only got just enough blood to do the test. I am hoping I don't get a call to say it has to be repeated due to clotting now though.

silentlywondering · 21/01/2009 07:29

Just a thought but is it worth having a separate thread for the stats which is linked to this thread? It has been done on busy threads before and works quite well as it means we can chat more iyswim.

kookykid · 21/01/2009 07:51

bexaa - get the scan. I know it seems like a lot of money, but it'll help settle your nerves.

trixie - def see the GP. You need some reassurance.

another worrier here too. Been OK for a week or so, but now completely paranoid and had a bad night thinking the worst. Wish there was a great big fast forward button so I could get to that precious 12 week point.

At least we're all in it together!

HeadFairy · 21/01/2009 08:50

Hi everyone,

trixie, I'm in the same situation as you, I've had some mild crampy/achyness and a tiny bit of pinky/brown discharge. Nothing in between, but I'm now totally worked up about it. I'm going to try and see if my EPU can at least give me some advice, even if they won't scan me yet.... I'll let you know what they say.

Bexxa - I hope you find a way to have an early scan. I must say it's terrible that there's such a post code lottery with scans, it seems very unfair that I can just walk in to my local hospital and get scanned and you can't.

Sorry this is a cut and run job, just wanted to give you guys my support and hope everything turns out for the best... I'm off to pester the EPU again!

iamamummy · 21/01/2009 08:57

morning ladies!

cant believe how lively this thread is!!!

trixievix - definately make an appointment with your gp to see him/her asap preferably today and get a referral for the EPU. hopefully they will scan you and put your mind at rest. xxx thinking of you, i know how scary it is xx

detox - haha @ waterbirth in garden with dh on the bbq, that would be a funny sight although of course not for you! i had a birthing pool last time and used it for hours it helped so much with the pain but ds was back to back and i was fully dilated on one side and not the other and in the end went to hospital but my midwives stayed with me and delivered me so it was like a homebirth but in hospital.

kooky - im with you on the worry side of things, you think that the 12 week scan will reassure you,,,and it does for a while then you worry about the 20 week scan...and its fine and THEN you worry if baby hasnt kicked etc...basically the worry never ends!!

is anyone finding out the sex?! i am. we did last time and it really helped me to bond with my ds.

iamamummy · 21/01/2009 08:58

oh my edd is 28/09/08 not 18/09/09 but il leave it be for now til a scan tells me a different one. (cant actually remember exact date of last af)

bratnav · 21/01/2009 09:26

Hi all.

The scan went well, little heartbeat present and correct, we both were a little tearful

EDD is 10/9 so have updated myself on the list.

bobber · 21/01/2009 09:34

Good morning stayfrosty

I've been underactive for 10 years now - so it was established by the time I was pregnant with DD. If I remember correctly I didnt get my thyroxine upped at all for that preg, but was given an extra scan at 25 or 28 weeks I think because I was hypothyroid.

Irony is, if I hadnt got my thyroid problem discovered privately I would have had a hysterectomy at 28 !!!!! Well, thats what the gynae was pushing for anyway as I'd had unexplained non-stop bleeding for over a year. I was v.unwell generally at the time & a hospital consultant diagnosed me with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome without seeing me after just reading the referral letter from my GP & apparetnly bleeding was coincidental.
Anyway, I didnt believe it so took myself off to private doc,who diagnosed me immediately & put me on meds. Apparently my numbers were just under where the NHS would treat you - therefore it wasnt a problem in their eyes . Well, amazingly within a month I started 28 day cycles& I was well again within months.
The NHS claimed it was a coincidence AGAIN,as my tests only showed a minor problem so it couldnt have caused that much effect. It was only several years later that my GP at the time finally accepted it, would you believe. And I've still got CFS all over my medical notes from that time!!

This preg, Im being referred to an endo but I am on different drugs. Im on 100mcg thyroxine & 20 mcg Liothyronine (which is very potent converted thyroxine - tablet equivalent to 100mcg thyroxine). Im on this combo due to bad dizzyness (which it cleared!), but Im worried its not ideal when pregnant although its apparantly safe.

bobber · 21/01/2009 09:35

Fantastic news bratnav

Good luck &fingers firmly crossed today for all those worried & having scans

KriKay · 21/01/2009 10:17

Morning all,

Bratnav, glad all went well at your scan. Its so reassuring.

Theres quite a few of us that are hypothryoid!
Bobber, cant beleive NHS didnt diagnose you properly, or just because they thought your numbers werent low enough couldnt be causing the problems! Glad you're sorted now.

Im waiting on my GP to phone today sometime, to tell me what to do re my thyroxine dose. Last time I was pg they upped it by 25mcg right at the beginning then doen bloods every 4 weeks. It never had to be changed again, just 6 weeks after birth, reduced it back down to 100mcg, what i had been on.

My first MW app isnt until Feb 16th, seems ages away!!

Hope you all have a good day,

Heatherxx
