lixanismapolium · 22/12/2008 06:32

So excited to be starting my first thread!!!

Just had a BFP this morning a couple of days before AF is due and according to FF, my EDD is 1st September 09.

I have one DD (March 05) and had MMC in late September this year, so a little nervous but really ready for this.

Looking forward to a few more people joining me on here!

Welcome to the latest bfp's

Hope you're feeling more relaxed Bratnav - good luck with the scan later.

I have an appointment at the EPU tomorrow morning following some cramping overnight. Sure all is well, but gp was very supportive and managed to get me an appointment.

Ah bratnav thats rubbish. What a childish, snidey thing to do. I agree with the ignore her stance, there isn't much else you can do with people like that. I hope everything goes well with your scan btw.

Trixie I'm feeling like a crap mum too- ds missed the library group today as I am feeling nauseous and so tired I couldn't get us up and out on time. We are still in our pj's He seems to be having a nice time though, he is sitting in his toy pushchair talking to his reflection in the mirror...

I worn sea bands all the time throughout the ms last time, they didn't really help personally, but I didn't take them off for fear that everything would get worse! I also complied a detail list of what was ok to throw up and what wasn't and I am avoiding loads of stuff now just incase! The worse offenders were rice pudding and pepperoni pizza

StealthPo09IsHere · 20/01/2009 12:15

hi everyone
feeling bleurgh here
def not both ends, in fact the opposite (sorry, tmi)
I feel sick because I'm hungry but then worse when I eat

PurpleCrazyHorse · 20/01/2009 12:43

Sorry loads of people are feeling rough . My nausea started yesterday and as a first-timer, I was initially a little excited (I think it makes it seem a bit more real especially as I've yet to see the midwife).

However, feeling more sick today and it's no longer 'exciting'! However, doing okay with the eating little and often approach. All bland stuff such as dry crackers but seems to reduce the sickness and I've managed a basic pasta lunch. Thanks BigBang for the thoughts about what not to eat and repeat .

Worst thing is, there's only one toilet cubicle at work (for about 50 or so people). Bit worried about that, it's bad enough if I need a wee [hmmm]

I know this might last the whole pregnancy if I'm really unlucky, but for those of you who've done this before, roughly how long does the MS last?

Thanks

kookykid · 20/01/2009 12:43

Am officially 8 weeks today!!

Now worried as not feeling as rubbish as I think I should be, + not as tired + not needing the loo every 5 mins.

SO hoping everything is alright. Can't wait to get my scan date.

Sorry to hear your problems Bratnav - what a cow.

Hope you all feel better soon.

detoxdiva · 20/01/2009 12:49

Kookykid - try not to worry - I'm 7+4 and have no symptoms whatsoever. Exactly the same as my pg with dd so I'm trying not to worry, but I understand what you mean - something would make it seem more real

BabyLady · 20/01/2009 12:54

Hi all, feeling just like you Stealth. Extrememly gross. No food excites me but have to eat otherwise feel very nauseous...not fun!

StealthPo09IsHere · 20/01/2009 12:56

mine lasted until about 16 weeks and then came back for a week or so at 20 weeks.
It's going to be a long spring...

BabyLady · 20/01/2009 13:16

For some reason anything tomato is in and anything sweet (particulary chocolate - so not fair) is out!

iamamummy · 20/01/2009 13:25

I didnt really have morning sickness with ds just felt a bit queasy and could not stand toothpaste! that used to make me gag so much first thing.

babylady - i had a tomato craving with ds, it was tomato soup and especially tomato wheat crunchies mmmmmmmm

ive just told my family the news everyone is thrilled

bigbang · 20/01/2009 13:26

Sorry PCH was probably TMI

I had hyperemesis till 14 weeks, which was shite. Then I was sick a couple of times a day till 23 weeks, then nothing and a great pregnancy.

iamamummy · 20/01/2009 13:26

detox diva - i see you are in bedfordshire? what hospital did you have dd in?

vesela · 20/01/2009 13:41

PCH, mine stopped at around 14 weeks last time, I think.

Snowfalls108 · 20/01/2009 13:50

ah a new symptom - complete emotional wreck.
Just went home for lunch, and found myself crying for 15 minutes for no reason. Tears rolling down my cheeks.
Rang DH, who, bless him, spoke to me very nicely and told me to put my feet up and he'd sort everything.

Anyone else anything similar?

cautiousmumtobe · 20/01/2009 13:50

Hi everyone and welcome to the newbies. I haven't been on for a few days and this thread has gone mad!

Got my appointment thro at the weekend for 5/2 so two weeks and two days to wait to see if there really is something there. For some reason, they offered me an appointment at a completely random hospital rather than the one that is two mins down the road and where I have been for previous pregnancies. No clue why but fortunately they changed it when I rang up and queried.

Felt a bit yuk first thing over the last few days but have found that eating regularly helps. With DD, I was sick until 20 weeks which fortunately coincided with me just about able to stomach christmas dinner. After that I had really bad indigestion. This time round, the indigestion seems worse than the sickness which I guess is the way I would have it if I had a choice but would prefer neither obviously!

Purplecrazyhorse - I remember that initial excitment at getting ms - it does not last!

detoxdiva · 20/01/2009 14:01

Iamamummy - I had dd in Bristol before we moved so sadly no experience of local hospitals. I am booked into Lister (as is Bobber) and have an appointment there tomorrow so can feedback what it's like then!! Where are you?

olivo · 20/01/2009 14:07

just dropped by to say hello to those from the ttc thread. hope you are all doing well and not feeling too rough! take care.

AprilMeadow · 20/01/2009 14:20

I just feel sick all day everyday. Most of the time it is quite mild and i forget its there but other times, like yesterday and today its there all the time. Fortunately i havent actually been sick.

Have just booked an early scan for the 3rd Feb when i will be 8+3.

Anna0205 · 20/01/2009 14:47

I hope it's OK to join this group. I have confirmed today that I am 5+2 weeks. I took a test a week ago which was negative so I was really disappointed and waited for my period to come - nothing and felt terrible so yes I was pregnant - who knows why the test didn't work but it was an emotional week!

I am 29 and have a 6.5 year old and a 4 year old and hubby is in the Army.

Congratulations to everyone

AprilMeadow · 20/01/2009 14:57
