lixanismapolium · 22/12/2008 06:32

So excited to be starting my first thread!!!

Just had a BFP this morning a couple of days before AF is due and according to FF, my EDD is 1st September 09.

I have one DD (March 05) and had MMC in late September this year, so a little nervous but really ready for this.

Looking forward to a few more people joining me on here!

Snowfalls - I have the evening sickness/nausea thing too. NOt so bad during the day, but am knackered because if I eat an evening meal I seem to spend hours trying to shift the nausea.

Could be worse though.

I am in SE london/kent borders.

PurpleCrazyHorse · 19/01/2009 14:09

Very disappointed, just moved from W13 to Wales!!

Now 6+3 and have very slight nausea. Trying to eat little and often but don't feel brill. Also still waiting to get my MW appointment so hoping for a phone call soon. Appointments here are 8-10 wks so got a bit of time.

Congratulations on all the BFPs, I can't believe so many babies are due in Sept!

Told my first RL person today, it was the blood service lady coming around the hospital to get people signed up. I regularly give blood so needed to let them know. Very weird getting a RL congratulations. Makes it seem real and a little scarey.

BabyLady · 19/01/2009 15:31

Hi all, wondering if I can join you?

Have to confess that I have been "lurking" on this thread for a while but have been too nervous to join for fear of jinxing myself (had a couple of friends and my sister mc in the last three weeks). BUT, had my first scan on Wednesday last week and there was a strong heartbeat so I am starting to believe it might actually happen. Baby was 7 weeks +2 days but they tend to round up making baby 8 weeks and due date around 1st September'ish.

Umm, a bit about me - 31 years old, first timer.

Few symptoms except very mild nausea in the afternoons and serious period-like cramps, that is other than a rather alarming expansion of my chest area (and I wasn't needing any expansion in the first place!).

I've taken the libery of adding myself to the list.

Congrats to all the newbies

I feel rough today, I was sick in the street this morning then again on my lap in the car... instead of driving to work after dropping dd off at school this morning I came straight home and have spent most of the day in bed. I'm really not sure how I'd cope if I had a dc at home during the day - hats of to anyone who is coping with MS and a toddler.

My boss and my head of department know already but I think I will tell everyone else at work tomorrow. If I'm going to be this ill for the next while then I think I'll feel better if they know. I should find out tomorrow whether a proposal for a job share has been accepted - if it is then no one in our team will be made redundant. There will still be redundancies within the department though. Tough times.

I've been getting the period type pains too - implantation/stretching pains I think.

Loads of you in the south east - I feel rather provincial

bratnav · 19/01/2009 16:07

Welcome Babylady and congratulations

So is anyone around the Bristol area?

TrixieVix · 19/01/2009 17:57

My god - MS hit me with a bang this morning!

Eugh - the familiar feeling of last time has made a definite return. Have spent most of today with my face in my polo neck trying to block out smells that are wafting my way and turning my stomach.

Am wearing Sea Bands, that didn't seem to make much of a difference, but am keeping them on convinved that the MS would have been so much worse without them! Fessed up to my 2 colleagues in the office this morning too - just felt too dreadful to go through it alone, and when one of them mentioned getting spaghetti carbonara for lunch, I had to tell them - self preservation!!

Did another pg test yesterday - hadn't been feeling much of anything, and had convinced myself I'd made it up! Safe to say it was a definite BFP! Reassured myself, and have promised myself I shan't be doing another!

Sorry there's been some sad news since I was last one here - I'm sorry about your Nan Sails. I lost my beloved Gran at 11, and have often wondered what she'd think to me all grown up and a mum in my own right! Think she is up there somewhere looking down (or indeed looking up, knowing Gran )

Welcome to all the new BFPs - great to have you along! Makes me realise what my parents were up to 25 years ago at about this time, for I'm a September baby ewwwwwww

littlewifey · 19/01/2009 18:36

Hello everyone, glad to see there are even more newbies- congratulations. Headfairy, how did it go at the docs this morning? what did she say regarding early scan? You are lucky with EPU, if we want an early one I will have to pay privately. I don't mind spending the moeny at all if I think it will reassure me, but to be honest I'm not sure as think I'd still be worrying in between that and the 12 week one!

LittleCheese · 19/01/2009 19:32

Hi Ladies

I haven't posted in a while now been so busy. Nice to see there are now quite afew of us. I am also feeling extremely tired and a little nauseaous (haven't acctually been sick though)

I just started a new job today so am worn out, I haven't seen dd all day but im so tired she is just sat infront of cbeebies and i cant wait for bed time(i feel like such a terrible parent)

My new employers don't know im expecting and i have been paranoid all day that people have been looking at my tummy, im only 8ish weeks but have felt huge today

Any one on here from yorkshire?

HeadFairy · 19/01/2009 20:21

littlewifey, the doc was great, she reassured me that after a mc 90% of subsequent pregnancies are successful (assuming there wasn't an underlying cause for the mc like a blood disorder or something) I'd kind of decided I wouldn't bother with an early scan, but tonight I had the tiniest smear of blood, it was kind of old. Greyish really, but a bit like the start of af, and it's freaked me out a little. Just trying to work out how early I can go for a scan or am I just being silly. It really was tiny, and although it was only an hour ago, I haven't had anything else since. Gah, I hate first trimester!

HeadFairy · 19/01/2009 20:21

sorry, Littlewifey, forgot to say did you go to the docs today? Was it ok? Sorry to hear you have to pay for early scan, but there's nothing I wouldn't pay for peace of mind.

littlewifey · 19/01/2009 20:40

Hi Headfairy, glad doc was nice. Sorry to hear about the little blood though, I'm sure it is nothing to worry about. Could be old blood or my friend had a little blood each month around the time her period would have been while she was pg. Understand why you feel freaked though. I really feel mc takes the joy out of early pg. Me and DH have been discussing early scan tonight, and think we will def pay to have one. My fear is though that I don't want to go too early and something be suspected to be wrong but still be in limbo, having to wait another week incase dates are slightly out etc! When do you think you will go for yours? I haven't gone to docs yet, haven't even rung, I think I'm kind of putting it off as that's when everything started to go wrong last pg!

kookykid · 19/01/2009 21:03

This thread is moving so fast! Welcome to the newbies.

Headfairy, if you haven't had anything since, then it's probably nothing to worry about. I completely understand hoe freaked out you must be though.

HeadFairy · 20/01/2009 07:42

thanks littlewifey and kookykid, I haven't had anything more, and it really was only the tiniest bit anyway. I'm just a bit panicky because of the mc. You're right, mc really does take the joy out of early pregnancy, but I seem to remember being terrified last time too, I must have rang the mw's about ten times even before I'd been booked in! I'm going to try and relax and not think about it for a couple of weeks and see how I go. Then I'll be 8 weeks and if I still feel the need for an early scan then at least I'll be able to see something.

MNVirgin · 20/01/2009 09:20

Can I join you? I got my BFP on Sunday - am due 25/09/2009. Already have a DD 2.9 years - am feeling very excited but extremely scared too x

TrixieVix · 20/01/2009 09:30

Have taken today off work - woke up at 6am and got in the shower and just sat crying! Grr - bloomin pregnancy hormones...have taken today as leave and have a flexi day tomorrow, so only Thursday and Friday to contend with, then it's the weekend and we're another week into our pregnancies! Am just rambling trying to make myself feel better that this crappy feeling won't last forever.

Am beginning to panic that I'm already taking leave and the MS only started yesterday....how am I going to get through the next 6 weeks or so?

My poor DS (25months)said to me this morning "Mumma poorly - need to go to 'ospital" bless him! We're now in the sitting room with me under the duvet on the sofa and him colouring at my feet. Feel like such a crap mum - he's even got Readybrek round his mouth and I haven't even got the energy to wipe it off...was struggle enough to make it for him in the first place!

Still - for every day I feel like this, I tell myself I'm one day closer to meeting my baby

Oh, and is anyone else suffering with with other end (so to speak) as a result of MS? I've felt to sick, but (touch wood) haven't actually been yet, just got to make frequent trips to the loo....anyone else like this?

Snowfalls108 · 20/01/2009 09:38

both ends for me!
Feeling awful this morning. Sat at my desk trying to restrain myself from gagging - no one at work knows yet.

Yucky yucky yuck.

TrixieVix · 20/01/2009 09:40

Aww Snow - it really is rubbish isn't it. Deffo feeling for you - yesterday at work was horrible - today is better. I'm going for Positive Mental Attitude today - DH had the cheek to say I'm talking myself into it yesterday

Have you tried Sea Bands? I found I could hide them under long sleeves and with big bracelets...

TigerFeet · 20/01/2009 09:46

BOth ends here too pregnancy is such a wonderful thing isn't it?!?

I have told HR today as I couldn't drive to work this morning. It's a 3 mile trip to get dd to school, that was bad enough, but the further 16 miles to work was just too much. I don't want to use up loads of leave as I still have to cover dd's school holidays so I have called in sick again this morning. I don't work Wednesdays and am hoping to feel better by Thursday. DH is going to get me some sea bands today.

Ginger ale helps a bit as does peppermint tea. I'm still being sick though.

bratnav · 20/01/2009 09:56

LAdies, can I have your opinions here please.

I need support

TrixieVix · 20/01/2009 09:57

I know it's awful, but it's quite nice being part of a gang who are all going through exactly the same thing! DH simply can't understand what it's like, and as sympathetic as mum is, it's been 26 years since she had it, so her sympathy is limited! The girls in the office haven't had kids yet, and my boss is male, so although everyone is lovely, I just feel like I'm going through it on my own in RL...

So, as much as I'd like everyone to feel better, part of me is pleased you all feel like crap too

TrixieVix · 20/01/2009 10:02

Sending you

Want me to biff her for you??

detoxdiva · 20/01/2009 10:03

Oh Bratnav - I feel for you, it's so hard. How old are the dc's? It's always hard for them to keep things to themselves. Do you have the kind of relationship where dh or you could speak to the ex and ask her to stop? Alternatively I would try and take the higher ground and maintain a dignified silence (hard I know - if it was dh's ex I'd want to go mad!!). If she doesn't get a reaction from you the novelty will soon wear off and she'll find something else to talk about.

bratnav · 20/01/2009 10:18

I have a plan, I am going to completely blank her. If she cannot behave properly and have at least some respect for us, as we try to have for her, then she is not worth my energy.

Does anyone own a shotgun??????

Bloody MS and I feel like I have PMS. Sorry you are all feeling rough too. Very nervous about the scan today, and this is not helping

bratnav · 20/01/2009 10:19

DP has spoken to her, she doesn't realise that people we know can see her FB profile and she tried to blame people knowing on DSD, which has made us both even more cross.

iamamummy · 20/01/2009 11:30
