So excited to be starting my first thread!!!

Just had a BFP this morning a couple of days before AF is due and according to FF, my EDD is 1st September 09.

I have one DD (March 05) and had MMC in late September this year, so a little nervous but really ready for this.

Looking forward to a few more people joining me on here!

HI everyone
Sails, welcome! What specifically are you worried about? Is there anything you can talk through?

kookykid · 18/01/2009 12:20

Hi everyone - feels like ages since I've posted. Have been trying to keep up with the odd lurk, but haven't been doing very well!

Hopefully everything will calm down for me now as our busy start to the year is over and I can post a bit more regularly. Had a wedding on the 10th - my DD was a flower girl and I was reading, so that was a hectic day. Felt fine all day and then absolutely rubbish all day on the Sunday. Then had a crappy week at work - my boss is a PITA, then my granny's funeral on Thursday, which was hard going emotionally. Again, felt fine all day and then really paid for it the next day - puking and everything. Lovely.

Had my appointment with the GP on Friday who was sweet, but ineffectual! Won't be able to get a nuchal scan here so now debating a private scan. Have also had due date changed to the 1st, even though I argued against the stupid wheel thing being accurate!

honestlyandtruly · 18/01/2009 14:14

Hi everyone

Welcome to all the new BFPs!

Kookykid - I know what you mean about finding it hard to keep up with the thread, it's moving so fast. I try to look in every now and then even if I don't have time to post. Sorry to hear about your granny. I lost my grandpa when I was pg with DD and it was so hard!

I'm feeling great today, so good in fact that I can't stop worrying. I still don't have any pregnancy symptoms and am 5 + 5, no sore boobs, no nausea, no fatigue - can this be normal? Everyone else on this thread seems to be feeling at least some of these symptoms. I felt dreadful very early on with DD, almost from conception so this feels very wrong. Reassurance would be great. I'm booked in for a scan a week tomorrow.

The worrying thing is that before I had my BFP last week I'd been to see the doctor as I'd had severe cramping with fever and nausea the night before. I thought it might have been a cyst (previously suffered with PCOS) but I had an ultrasound scan which was clear. They took a blood sample and rang the following day so say I was pregnant. I hope the cramping wasn't anything sinister, nothing showed up on the ultrasound and I've had no bleeding or spotting. But I can't stop thinking it might have been a miscarriage.

Can't believe I actually want to suffer with morning sickness or sore boobs.

mama2leah · 18/01/2009 15:47

u dnt sore boobs while feedin a dd, trust me!! PAINFUL!

crikey it is busy on here - completely agree about the festive nookie They're not kidding when they say September's a busy month then? Congrats to all the new BFPs...

honestly, I've got my fingers crossed for you. My symptoms calmed down on Friday and ever since I've been wondering if it means things have gone topsy-turvy, but hopefully it just means that the first weeks won't be hideous. Perhaps there's just no way out of the worry whichever way your body decides to play it.

Am also wondering who and when to tell. I'm only 5+3, but it already feels impossible to keep to myself. I'm not very good at making up excuses for not drinking and I was never one to refuse a good glass of red!

kookykid · 18/01/2009 18:09

honestly if it makes you feel better I had virtually no symptoms at all when I was pregnant with my DD. Certainly nothing at 5+5. Have my fingers crossed for you. try not to worry! (Earier said than done, I know). Also, lots of us had cramping early on... just the uterus expanding, so nothing to worry about.

lemonmoon I would go with teling whoever you would want to know if the worst were to happen (sorry not meaning to be pessemistic). I've told a couple of close work colleagues and very close family (mum, but not dad!) and best friend.

Sabs1981 · 18/01/2009 18:17

Hi everyone! Told my parents and my inlaws today. My mum had guessed. Dad was shocked to say the least. When I said it wasn't planned he basically told me off saying I should have been more careful and made me feel like a young teenager not a 35 year old woman married for over 10 years! He said it was something I could have done without I said I know and started crying again!! Inlaws also shocked but said they can hardly talk as they had 3 under 4 at one point(sadly her 3rd died of a cot death.) She said really regrets telling everyone when pregnant with her 3rd that it was unplanned especially after what subsequently happenend. Anyway begining to accept the situation now. I guess its the sheer hard work that worrys me especially as dh works such long hours.

AprilMeadow · 18/01/2009 20:14

Evening Ladies,

Wow this certainly is a busy thread!

Congrats to all the new members

Am 6wks today and feel awful. The nausea has cranked up a notch, am tired and feel/look really bloated! Indigestion is slightly better but do suffer at night with it.

We told everyone on Friday and it has made me feel more excited. Decided to tell the kids as well given that so many people know and we didnt want them to hear by accident. My ds who is 3yrs 9mths wants to call it either Bob or Rachel... think he might be disappointed as they are not on the list. Anyway, since we told people it seems like my stomach muscles have given up and dont work anymore. I seriously look about 4mths pregnant, especially by the end of the day.

Dont have much of an appetite at the moment and feel full up after eating a sarnie!

Those of you without symptoms fret not, a friend of mine who is pg with her 2nd didnt suffer with anything other than sore boobs at the beginning of each of hers.

Have spent this afternoon working on my college assignment. I went back to college in September to study HR as we have our own company and dont have any HR policies or other bits and bobs in place. Its a lot to get my head around and not too great that it is from 2-9pm on Monday. Luckily it is just one night a week but it's just so late to have your brain functioning.

Just5minspeace · 18/01/2009 20:21

Hello - can I come in? Due 24th Sept with no.3. DD will be just 4 and DS 2.5 so hopefully it is an easy baby!!
Congratulations to everyone on here even those who are still getting used to the idea

HellHathNoFury · 18/01/2009 20:27

Wow, tis a busy thread for sure!

I feel wretched, mainly man flu but also witrh nausea. Have taken 2 days off work but feel even worse today, will probably get fired if I take another day.

Diet is out the window. Given that salads etc make me retch, it's toast all the way. I suppose I can be a size 20 again. Did it last time. Zexy.

silentlywondering · 18/01/2009 20:45

Frosty they may do a scan that early just to check everything is ok. If they can't see properly with the usual dohicky they may do an internal scan.

littlewifey · 18/01/2009 20:46

Sabs and Stayfrosty,I think that I am only about 4+3 too as I tested early with a first response. It is difficult to know for sure because my cycles are anything from 30-38 days! Sabs I also had a mmc previously, so know how you must be feeling. I don't think I could cope with another I am thinking of paying for a private scan at about 8 weeks, then going to GP once I (hopefully) know that everything is ok. Welcome just5minspeace, I'm a newbie too Aprilmeadow, your DS's choice of names made me smile, bless him.

StealthPo09IsHere · 18/01/2009 20:52

Hi everyone
Sabs, I am very impressed...were you taking notes?

StealthPo09IsHere · 18/01/2009 20:55

Ok, help. If I got a bfp on the 9th Jan, and my cycle's all over the place then how on earth do I know when I'm due? I've tried both extremes, and it seems like it could be any time in September!

silentlywondering · 18/01/2009 21:02

If your cycle is all over the place and you are not certain then you may have to wait till you get a scan to get an accurate date. If you explain to your gp how erratic your cycle is they may push for a scan sooner rather than later for you.

silentlywondering · 18/01/2009 21:03

Ohh and on a fast moving thread like this note taking becomes second nature!

GracieGirl · 18/01/2009 21:08

Evening all! I think everyone is on their computers tonight - shouldn't we all be asleep!

Sabs - I changed my GP to the one just up the street and got my booking appointment for the 30th January (I'll be 9.5 weeks then). I got nowhere with my old GP (full story half way up page 18). It makes sense to have changed my GP to one so close I just hadn't got round to it before.

AprilMeadow - I know what you mean about stomach muscles giving up and I've never even been pregnant before so I have no excuse. I am definately showing already. Someone please tell me this doesn't mean I'm having twins!! I'm only a size 8 to start with so I guess the "small grapefruit" uterus has got to go somewhere. I bought some maternity trousers today - soooooooooo comfortable.
I tried the bigger size in normal trousers and they just fell down as I've only got bigger on my belly. Will I get grief from my midwife about having a BMI of only 18 ?? I'm doing my best as eating everything in sight.

StealthPo09IsHere · 18/01/2009 21:15

ugh, looks like I'll have to make an appointment soonish then! I hate not knowing!

12stepmum · 18/01/2009 21:31

Hi can i join in, due date 8th Sept!! Have one ds already (28 months). Hugs to everyone else at the same stage

silentlywondering · 18/01/2009 21:38

Hi Graciegirl - yes you prob will get grief off the MW about your bmi but try not to let them stress you. YOu don't want to pile on loads of weight too quickly. Just eat healthily and take it easy and you will be fine. I however will get grief as my bmi is too high! I will get told about my weight oer and over again but with thyroid problems and being pregnant I am not going to pay too much attention as long as I keep to a healthy diet.

Stealth - Sorry but yeah the sooner you get an appointment the sooner you will know whats going on love.

12stepmum - Welcome to the group.

SAILS - (((Hugs)) Sorry to hear about your nan love.

littlewifey · 18/01/2009 21:39

Oh Sails, I am so sorry about your nan You sound like you are really going through it at the moment. I'm sending you a virtual hug.
