So excited to be starting my first thread!!!

Just had a BFP this morning a couple of days before AF is due and according to FF, my EDD is 1st September 09.

I have one DD (March 05) and had MMC in late September this year, so a little nervous but really ready for this.

Looking forward to a few more people joining me on here!

andi sorry to see your news but good to see you are remaining hopeful. All the best with TTC in the future

I've been tired all day and now I'm WIDE awake! Have to be in the EPU at 8am but I just don't feel like sleeping now. I'm considering a bath but not sure it's such a good idea given the circumstances at the moment. Maybe just a shower.

Thanks for all the positive stories and good vibes ladies, it's very much appreciated. I'll come back to the thread tomorrow with whatever news I get.

Take it easy all

PurpleCrazyHorse · 08/01/2009 22:12

LittleRascal · 09/01/2009 06:30

sorry to hear that andi. . will be thinking of you. good luck
welcome purple! 4 tests!!!! lol!!!!i had the one confirm- now i feel like i should have taken more tests! may just pop out to get another one! (even though af was supposed to come 2 weeks ago!)

PurpleCrazyHorse · 09/01/2009 07:29

I did go mad for a while. Test 1 done as soon as they arrived in the post (about 5 days before AF due and got BFN). Repeated with faint positives for a few days until when AF was late figured it must be true but took another one just to check! Seems very crazy now and bathroom bin overflowing with tests and boxes!

GracieGirl · 09/01/2009 07:54

Purple - I did 3 tests, I couldn't quite decide if I was imagining the blue cross so I bought a digital one which flashed up "pregnant" - can't really get that one confused can I ?!

TrixieBelden · 09/01/2009 09:30

Oh, andi - so sorry. Thinking of you.

Four tests here, too. Most of them too early and thus BFNs. grrr

Sooooo tired here and only 5 weeks today. All I can think about is when I can get to bed. We're having guests for dinner tonight and I'm dreading it only because by 9:00 I'll be longing for bed.

Have only just realised that the third trimester will coincide with summer. If we have a heat wave a la 2006 I will be insufferable ...

bigbang · 09/01/2009 10:13

Trixie, I am exhausted too and only 4+4. It isn't helping that DS is up a couple of times a night for some reason at the moment! I'm feeling very guilty as we normally go to a group on fridays but I just can't be bothered today. Poor DS, he will be bouncing off the walls when dp gets home. Can you manage to get a nap today? I'm thanking my lucky stars ds sleeps for 2 hours in the afternoon, what are the chances he still does that when the new baby comes?!

I'm supposed to be going to birthday party tonight but I don't think I'm going to make it. I hope you manage to enjoy your guests tonight and aren't too tired!

Is anyone else having really bad cramps? I feel like my period is going to come at any moment. I hope its just 'stretching' pain or something.

LittleRascal · 09/01/2009 11:36

oh okay- so some of the tests were from before af- then me too! i tested 3 times before af and was bfn. I was thinking that everyone took 4 or so tests to confirm bfp! (although thinking of it, suppose i would have tested more if there where shops open- was on holiday in small village with no shops open on christmas day). so only managed 1 test which was a bfp.

bigbang- i also got cramps for the first few weeks. now seems to have stopped. (i like getting those cramps as it makes me feel like something is happening there!)

soooo tired- ds woke at 5.30- grrrr- gave ds to my folks for 2 hours this am as so i slept. then gave him breakfast and put him down for his morning nap- which i slept for (another 2 hours !) and now about to have another sleep! cant get enough!! so glad i am with the folks on holiday while i am feeling like this!

LittleCheese · 09/01/2009 11:51

I took 3 tests too, the first too were positives but only after 10 mins when it says not to read after, So i nipped out to boots on boxing day for a digital test

I am also shattered today, Dh left for work at 10 so i managed to have a lie in but still neither me or dd are dressed i have no motivation i feel terrible

mumtobe23 · 09/01/2009 11:52

YES! I too keep getting them cramp like, period pain feelings and every hour or so rush to the loo to check if theres any blood! Being only 5+4 days it feels like a life time till the end of feb when i should hopefully reach the 12/13 week mark, and years away till sept, i wish i could click my fingers and be 6 months plus! xx

PurpleCrazyHorse · 09/01/2009 14:00

TrixieBelden I'm exactly 5weeks today too

I've also had a few AF-like cramps but seems to have eased off. Not too tired yet but we don't have any other children either! Life and work is reasonably quiet so not too bad. Likewise, the booking appointment in late Feb seems miles away.

PrincessLala · 09/01/2009 15:17

Hi all, so sorry to hear about the problems and losses some of you are having. Scardypants - we're thinking of you in the EPU.

Yes, I'm also getting constant period-like cramps still. They're pretty mild and I don't really notice them when I'm busy, but as soon as I sit down to work or rest, and don't have anything to distract me, there they go.

I'm also getting a chest infection I think. Boo. By Wednesday I'll have worked 6x 12 hour shifts in 7 days - I just can't be ill. Thankfully my colleagues are being very kind and I've been sent home early every morning so far (last of 3 night shifts tonight). One of them wouldn't even let me move a rocking chair last night - bless!

The time is dragging so much and I'm being completely rubbish about keeping it a secret. Can't wait to get my booking scan so I can give up all pretence and tell the world! I've made my GP appointment for next week. Don't really see why I need to see the GP but that's how it done so...

bigbang · 09/01/2009 17:39

Oh its reassuring to hear the cramps are normal!

Scardypants I hope you had good news at the EPU, let us know how you got on.

detoxdiva · 09/01/2009 19:26

Scardypants - hope all is ok

Andi - sorry to hear your news. Hope you are ok.

Still no symptoms here...6 weeks today. Nice to to feel sick but don't feel any different at all - which is exactly how I felt with dd, so not toooo worried!

PurpleCrazyHorse · 09/01/2009 20:22

Thought I felt a bit icky on the bus home from work but still managed to eat bangers and mash (and have a handful of Quality Street for dessert!). Obviously no morning sickness yet and long may it continue.

DH back tonight from 3 days in London. Very excited but dreading de-icing the car and driving to pick him up.

LittleCheese · 09/01/2009 21:21

O god I think i have flu, I feel absolutally shocking, im burning but cant stop shivering aching all over and have a terrible sore throat I want to cry, I have work in the morning too

bobber · 10/01/2009 08:48

Scardypants - thinking of you. Hope everything was reassuring at the EPU and you havent got more horrid waiting.

Andi - Im sorry. Just to reassure you my first miscarriage was very similar (neg tests & heavy bleeding at 4 weeks after pos+ tests for 3 days). I thought it was a chemical preg too, but the GP said he was recording it as a miscarriage. There is hope - I got preg 2nd cycle after (another m/c at 6 weeks), but then this pg 3 1/2 weeks later! And Im ancient!!

Got lots of symptoms (nausea, mega sore heaving tight boobs, freq weeing & constipation which is the worst Ive ever had - didnt have that with DD). Waistbands are tight already - at 5 weeks 5 days -HOW is that possible!!!????. Got early scan on Friday - dont think its twins now as Im sure I'd be more tired, but so paranoid there will be nothing there, or it will be a molar pregnancy - must stop googling

Happy weekend to all of you

littlesez · 10/01/2009 09:05

Sept 09 already! wow what an exciting time for you guys, im sara due feb 09 seems like only yesterday i was doing my test. Good luck and wishing you all a happy and healthy pregnancy xxx

detoxdiva · 10/01/2009 09:16

Scardypants - any news, all thinking of you.

Bobber - good luck with the scan on Friday - 16 days 'till mine. Hope it's good news all round.....wonder if there will be any twins on this thread...

scardypants · 10/01/2009 10:09

Thanks ladies but it's bad news. I'm currently sitting up in a hospital bed minus one fallopian tube and my little baby.

I came in at 8 yesterday, they scanned, couldn't find any sac so did hcg blood test again which showed level only at 5000 or thereabouts. Went to theatre at 6pm.

I can't begin to describe how I feel. Have any of you had an ectopic?

undercovermummy · 10/01/2009 10:14

Oh Scardy, i am so sorry to hear your news. I dont really know what to say other than i am sending you lots of love and hugs and that i am thinking of you.
Take it easy, rest as much as you can xx

bratnav · 10/01/2009 11:54

Hi all,

I was on the August thread, but I think after my scan yesterday I might be moving over here. They said I was 5-6 weeks, putting my EDD at between 31/8 and 4/9 (I think).

Scardy, so sorry to hear your bad news, I don't really know what to say, but wanted to show support.

Oh scardypants. How horrendous for you.

I cannot imagine how tough this is for you. To lose a pregnancy is bad enough, but to lose a tube too. I am so so sorry.

I know there doesnt appear to be any sort of positive here, BUT there is a massive one - and that is thank god they found it in time and you are still here.

Very best wishes to you and your DH.

LittleRascal · 10/01/2009 13:12

So sorry to here that Scardy. thoughts are with you- as Bobber said, thank God they found it in time. my aunt had an EP and she went on to have 2 lovely children afterwards. Please keep us updated. thinking of you

Bratnav- think i am also on the cusp of aug/sept. if tis anything like my ds it will come mid sept though!!
