don't know of milk enhancing food, but fennel tea is good for both increasing it and helping the babe's wind.

I got most milk out during the night (got insomnia and used the time to pump!) and also when I did it in the morning as an extra feed, and hour after my 10 o'clock one. Kept it regular. First week probably got about an ounce, then it slowly went up and up. Thing is not to expect too much too soon and also to keep your fluids up; drink a pint of water while feeding too. Also, don't think breastmilk is the same as formula; it can be more or less concentrated so ounce for ounce is not the same!

I used to express at night too!!! Bonkers 4am sessions. Can't see me mustering the energy this time, unless I really was fulled by the hormones.
Am really looking forward to bf again. Lovely.

rrrayray · 05/01/2009 20:10

Tree My goodness woman.... I was so so so so so convinced you were now with babe! I thought we might just might have some jan babies!!! Well done you for Stocking up on Sleep though... i don't seem to be able to sleep at all, at any time of day

Stretchmarks Thanks for all your encouraging words ladies. As for Bio oil, i have been plying myself with the stuff since Day dot... i think thats half the reason why i was so pee-ed off with the little buggers arriving!! I think i'll just keep covering myself in the bio oil (No joke, i'm like a bird in an oil slick after the shower!!!!) and hope for the best.

Clary Sage -- Can someome enlighten me, i have no idea what this even is? or what it could help me with!

LenniEd hadn't thought about it using my abs.... Sounds like a good enough excuse to me... plus, Moose Laying rather than sitting sounds good to me. Am going to get maternity pillow for bed and lay on left hand side with OH and Relax and feel sorry for myself!

OH has been a little Gem since he got home, given me a little foot and shoulder rub, tried to cheer me up, and tried to tell me i'm still sexy and beautiful, and that he think i only have bump and havent gained any weight anywhere else... which i KNOW isn't true as my pre pregnancy knickers are VERY tight on the Bottom Area! Good lord... i'm ready (as we ALL are) to no longer be preggy!

Off to eat my Crunchie bar

Thanks again for all your encouraging word ladies..... i really needed them today, and you all picked me up when needed! i managed to only shed a few tears, and that was just when OH walked in the door and found me bouncing on my ball staring spacily around!

Good luck any over night labourers! xx

fourlittlefeet · 05/01/2009 20:22

ok. clary sage. um. only sniffed the bloody bottle!

now having quite painful regular contractions. make of it what you will.

off to find contraction master. will be surprised if this peters out. bleedin nora, not at all comfortable!

treedelivery · 05/01/2009 20:27

Was so so so convinced myself too!! AND at it again tonight. Bless your OH he sounds very lovely.

Clary Sage is an essential oil that has long long long had an ifinity with the uterus and such womanly things. It is supposed to encourage tone, and is also calming and balancing so our hormones can regulate us better. It's also £8 blarrrdy pounds so it had better blardy work!!

fymandbean · 05/01/2009 20:40

Chefswife - I think 3 weeks is when your DD is due for a growth spurt, so she will probably be taking every drop you make - try again in a week!

OOooooo flf - it does seem rather potent doesn't it!!??

Got mine in Boots but any where with that kind of stuff will have it - Holland and Barrat def do.

There will be a run on it if it kicks flf into action [closly followed by me hopefully]

Am only 38 weeks so I dunno why I think I ought to be labouring.

moosemama · 05/01/2009 20:54

Be warned guys, a friend of mine used clary sage to induce labour when she was overdue and had the worst most traumatic and painful labour. It was quick but awful.

At most, once overdue you can try putting a single drop of it in your bath. Other than that it should really only be used in labour either diluted in oil for a low back massage, a drop in your bath (provided waters haven't gone) or a couple of drops in a oil burner in the labour room.

Its well known as one of the more powerful essential oils and should be treated with caution.

treedelivery · 05/01/2009 21:04

It's bloody pungent so deffo second the using a drop only. Like I say have washed coat......pooh stinky!!

LenniEd · 05/01/2009 21:13

rrrayray Glad you are feeling better.

FLF sending you all the labour vibes I can muster, and some to you as well tree and MM

Eventful afternoon here. Hadn't felt any movements since I woke up so by time it got to mid afternoon was starting to panic a bit. Called MW who couldn't understand why I hadn't been seen over the weekend for monitoring (looks like a bit of a miscommunication between her and the hospital) and got told to go straight in. Baby was ok but very quiet so left on monitor for ages (got a sore arse from sitting still so long ) and given copious amounts of iced water to drink. After an hour a few twitchy looking people arrived and MW started discussing induction and I started to worry a bit more than was already and then bubs woke up and did a lot of dancing around making pretty patterns on the trace so they all breathed a collective sigh of relief. Left me on for another hour (hence sore arse) and did some kind of blood flow scan to check placenta. All ok. Got to go back in morning and if they get a good trace then I am free to remain pregnant for another 2.5 weeks if I choose otherwise looks like my days are numbered. (Guess they are numbered anyhow..)

really only sniffed it 3 times! once in shop to see how stinky for £8. Then twice at home! They are still going on so going to call labour ward and my mum is on her way. eek! At least if they tail off I can open the bottle again. Not putting it anywhere near my skin! wish me luck girls...

treedelivery · 05/01/2009 21:20

Oh LenniEd, bloody hell!! Am very glad bubs awoke and impressed them with the jive. Good they scanned you too.

FLF sounds v promising doesn't she?

flf - good luck! high time somebody had one of these january babies we've been promised

LenniEd · 05/01/2009 21:27

Yep, was a bit of a trauma, was really starting to panic for a bit. Irrationally was worrying about the fact I'd driven myself and car would be stuck in car park for ages accumulating car parking fees if they induced me there and then, and I hadn't got my bag and didn't want my arse on display in one of those hospital gowns...and... and... wonderful things hormones aren't they

Me and you dog. There will be another thread needed soon, and then another, and another....

stripeywoollenhat · 05/01/2009 21:40

i was hoping to have had lo by the end of this thread. stupidly optimistic.... now i think i'll be here till 27th when they'll induce me. unless the small one actually manages to kick her way out through my right side - lord knows, she's trying...

bit sick of being pregnant, anybody..?
