Good flf!

Maybe 'this is wind and there's been a misunderstanding'....? I can't do rhymes.

God 50 posts to go...come on some one...POD YER PEA!!!!

moosemama · 06/01/2009 18:24

Oooh gtdacp you lucky thing! I am so jealous! Reckon we'll end up with one one day, probably when we have less dogs! [grin}

Thanks Tree. Yes its more like she is having a good spell and I am benefitting! Was definitely a real help having the snack done for me, don't think I could have made it to the fridge, or even stood up for that matter!

Just been snuggled up with DS2 ordering yet more wooden Thomas trains online with his Christmas money - he is soooo excited about the postman coming now, have had to explain that it could be a few days till it gets here!

He's really tired after his first day back at school since hospital, but has had a lovely day and is totally in love with his new teacher who he met for the first time this morning, apparently "she is completely craaazyyy Mommy!"

treedelivery · 06/01/2009 18:24

Like anyone get to hospital without eating all the snacks! I have a dairy milk stashed thats nearly come a cropper so many times.

Runs again. Sigh. My bowels are as baffling as the birthing process.

moosemama · 06/01/2009 18:30

Have just scoffed a marzipan ritter sport. Haven't had one since college (and that was a very very long time ago) but saw them when I was doing my online shop and ordered one for old times sake! Seem to have a bit of a thing for marzipan at the moment.

Last night was Thorntons Toffee Chocs (also purchased with the online shop) . This poor baby will be a chocolate addict before she's even born!

rrrayray · 06/01/2009 18:45

Evening ladies.

Have just got back from birthing centre. Phoned them shortly after lunchtime, as hadn't felt any movements since about 6pm yesterday. Very unlike my bubba. Had a feel, and then put me on a monitor for about 20 mins. Of course she then kicked straight away. trace okay, and they happy for me to come home, got to go straight back in if any more reduction in movements. But am a much more reassured mummy-to-be now! Midwife was an absolute Gem.

booksgalore Sobbing to OH is exactly what i did about stretch marks too. but, thinking about it more rationally today, boobs and tummy, well, boobs are never seen by anyone but OH, and tum only in a bikini in the summer, and thats out of the country, with again, OH, and its his daughter that will have caused them, so i guess i shouldn't worry about them too much, especially as they haven't even sprouted on tum yet, am just rather scared they are about to! Sorry to hear bubba's head is free again... at my last MW appt she was "brim" and i forgot to ask at the monitoring today.. so my bubba may well be too!

Moose i know what you mean about just not "feeling" like your going into labour. i just have a feeling its still WEEKS off for me. So depressing

Fymandbean at MW "quite big" comment!!! yay for ball and chain off and free to work, but how you have any energy to work is beyond me!

misshairspray at your neighbour. I mean, does she really think you are purposley slamming the doors loudly? its a little different to say playing loud music to her. Sorry to hear your are having stretchmark issues too!! I'm sure when we EVENTUALLY have our babers in arms, it will be the last thing on our minds!

FLF any more labour signs? Know what you mean about eating Crap.... My appetite has gone out of the window, but i somehow still seem to want anything thats rubbish for me! i even had a Mc Donalds last night and i'm not even ususally a Mc Donalds fan!!!

Its been FREEZING here today... hasn't been above Freezing, and Car said when we got back from birthing centre (about 5.30pm) that its already -3 c outside!! Brrr!!

come one someone- first january baby tonight please!!!! xxx

treedelivery · 06/01/2009 18:53

My dd has just given birth to a pillow on the rug. SHe was quite good, sort of squatted and podded.

She's seen a birth on the telly and thinks is all about doing a huge poo adn hysterical.

moosemama · 06/01/2009 19:07

Aw Tree that's cute!

DS1 saw part of a home birth on the tv and announced that for Christmas he wanted to buy something to stop the baby hurting Mommy! I had to tell him that its not the baby's fault and that Mummies wouldn't do it if it wasn't worth it! (DH got some of the Neal's Yard Mommy Soak to give me for Christmas and he told me it was to make me feel better after the baby arrives.) Ironic really, his labour was the worst ever, posterior, incredibly long and soooo painful!

LenniEd · 06/01/2009 19:21

MM and Tree - very sweet of your DCs sounds like your DD is fed up of waiting too Tree

Am hoping for no labour here tonight since ordered a rental TENS machine this morning and had to pay sodding £8.50 for Special delivery! The irony if I go into labour before 1pm tomorrow and don't have it will be unbearable!

Must have missed the part about rabbits... am confused.

Glad things have improved with your Mum MM - know how hard parental relationships can be.

Oohh, I love that Neal's Yard range, must go and have a look - but am officially broke at moment so better not spend any more money.

FYM - Lovely of your midwife, hope you looked suitable astonished and she felt dreadful.

Tree So funny! bless!

Moose Glad your DS was so cute and wanted to take the pain away, rather than trying to birth a pillow like Tree's DD. At least he understands babies come from mummies!

Best friend and i have decided to treat ourselves to a pamper day on monday as our OHs (her OH plays for same Team OH does) have an away match so will be gone from early morning until Very late. Going to Aveda salon for pedicure and "revitilising face and body treatment" Consisting of Facial, back massage, scalp massage and foot massage. Sounds like Absolute Bliss.... Cannot WAIT!!!! it was actually OH's idea, AND he is paying!!!!! Even Sweeter!!

Off to make a rather late dinner for OH . Fishcakes and Salad. Yummy!

Ah, thanks GTDAB - we have rabbits too! Two of them. One looks like a wild rabbit and the other is a dwarf. Used to have a giant rabbit, he lived in the house and was more like a cat than a rabbit.... I digress.

Think I'm a noisy one - but more in the 'Oh I can't do it, I'm going home' yelled at the top of my voice way rather than any animal sounds. Heard a newborn baby crying when I was in for monitoring yesterday

I'm a bitch in labour.

I think lot sof homebirthers have their dc's floating about the house, popping in and out. If you're quite then it might be a very positive empowering experience for her. Be no good for my dd as I made a right old song and dance about it and she'd be scared and upset for me.

Have got lovely bubba leg squirms going on tonight, can feel lumpy bit mooching about in there and sticking out my right side. Thinks it's a knee. Bless

moosemama · 06/01/2009 19:42

DS1 might know that babies come from Mummies now ... but when he was little and people asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up he used to answer "A Mommy".

Nowadays he just says he's going to do whatever job he doesn't need to do any writing in! We have constant questions about whether or not you need to write to do this or that other job.

Evening everyone! Hope you don't mind me joining in, I came on this thread ages ago, but am now officially on maternity leave so actually have the time to relax and read the posts...although not for long!
I am due on 14th with DC2, I have a DD who is 20 mnths.
It's reassuring to read about everyone's braxton hicks, false labours and general fed-upness with being waiting and being the size of a whale!
Is anyone else eating like a horse? I lost my appetite for a week or two and the last few days I just can't stop eating anything in my path!

treedelivery · 06/01/2009 20:02

How did I miss that from Tink?
Go girl!

LenniEd · 06/01/2009 20:07

Right, am back.

Hi hkz

Rrrayray - glad all ok, worrying isn't it. Good that you've been in though, at least as well as being reassured you will feel more at home when you go in for real.

GTDAB, excellent that you have doula. I'd play it by ear too, at least that way you can always get DP to take your DD to his parents if needed. She might sleep through it all anyway.

Right, we need a new thread ladies... title...??

OP posts:
stripeywoollenhat · 06/01/2009 20:12

tink, i would wish you luck but it seems to stop people's labours in their tracks when i do....

welcome back, hkz. am eating everything that's not nailed down, myself

hkz · 06/01/2009 20:21

GTDAB- I am in a similar position, my family are miles away and BIL , who lives round the corner, is on holiday at the moment, along with two other friends who could look after DD during labour if I needed to go to hospital.

I am planning a home waterbirth...but if it all goes tits up DP will have to take care of DD if no one else is about... not relishing the thought of giving birth alone, but I am optimistic it won't come to that.

Mind you, last time I wouldn't let DP touch me during labour, so maybe it won't be so bad.

rrrayray · 06/01/2009 20:35

Tink Gooooooo girl... come on, one of us for real this time.

I am a VERY happy bunny... just decided to read what the MW wrote in my notes today RE: monitoring. At last MW appt head was "brim" and today it was recorded as 2/5th.... now if i'm right (and not getting too carried away) this means she is now to some degree engaged... right?????
