Senna = laxative. Like sennokat I think th ebrand name is?

Am fed up it's true. trying to be hearty like was with dd1, I kept saying I wouldn't complain, just lucky to be wadddling about, think of those who want to be like me and can't, this might be the last time I do this so savour every minute even the crap ones.

Can't seem to muster it up this time!

Feel am getting cold, achey bones and shaky chest [?] feeling and scratchy throat.

Is this the sickliest thread on mumsnet ?
Know what you mean about feeling wasted days off, awful feeling. Sounds like a fabbo evening to me though!

stripeywoollenhat · 03/01/2009 17:58

feeling very grouchy - think it's cos my mum rang me when i had just fallen asleep earlier (hope i will be more patient with the baby...). i reckon she's going to ring every day until the lo arrives, which may drive me insane

hope senna helps without being too helpful, tree.

anybody else's pregnancy nose got even more acute lately? and i am wondering if anybody else has started smelling kind of sour to themselves? i mean skin as well as - ahem - everything else. is this weird? could it be the raspberry leaf tea?

tinkwantsherbaby · 03/01/2009 18:13

i am fed up 2!!

went to town which was nice with dd to get her feet measured just bought her a hat for £1.30 in adams sale they are closing

treedelivery · 03/01/2009 18:13

Oh I stink in pregnancy for sure.

LenniEd · 03/01/2009 18:17

Hi all, Back home. Not been seen. Long story but short version is never got through to ante-natal and only option was to go into delivery. They were happy to see me but felt like I was causing a bit of a fuss after about 4 phone calls so have left a message for community midwife and hoping I get called back either tomorrow or Monday.

FLF - I too am a believer in Mother's intuition, but am really just not sure on this. Feel odd, have done for a few days. Keep hoping bubs will make a break for freedom and that'll explain it all, but if not heard anything by Monday then I'll be knocking on the door of ante-natal when it opens!

I'm not fed up of being pregnant!! In fact I would happily stay pregnant for another 3 weeks some of the time despite being excited about meeting the baby. I'm happy either way really. Am making the most of the last precious days/weeks with DD, before the baby arrives and I'm no longer all hers.

Stripey, good point, had just noticed over the past couple of days I smell distinctly off. But you have cleared up the mystery. Smell arrived the day I started taking raspberry leaf tea!

Mind you, I think my preg super nose is back with a vengance as well as can't stand the poor dogs in the same room as me, and they have all just had baths! (What I don't understand is why I can't breathe, but I can smell nasty smells!)

Just had yet another bath (practically lived in there this week) and foolishly decided to weigh myself. Was sure I would have gained over christmas what with all the chocs, mince pies etc but have lost 4 lbs since Christmas Eve. Should I be worried? Have heard of weight gain slowing or even stopping at the end of term but not actual weightloss.

treedelivery · 03/01/2009 18:28

Verity is lovely. Means truth I think? A lovely sentiment.

Glad your back Lenni and hope mw gets in touch.

stripeywoollenhat · 03/01/2009 18:40

mm - that'll be it then - i was worried i had picked up an infection (ahem) or was wondering if it was a sign of imminent labour - but no, it is just the result of the vile tea, then. insult to injury, i've been calling it and it seems that this is even truer than i imagined.... while i've only heard of the cessation of weight gain towards the end, i'd say if you have been a bit under the weather that losing a few pounds is hardly surprising

gtdacp - verity is really sweet
lennie - hope you feel better soon - i'd get on the phone in the morning if they don't get back to you

moosemama · 03/01/2009 18:41

I went to school with a Verity, she was probably the sweetest and braniest person I've ever known.

moosemama · 03/01/2009 18:43

Hmm, have been under the weather, but craving rubbish food (chocs etc) and constantly starving so it doesn't seem to add up.

Maybe its muscle wastage from all this lying around.

Periwink · 03/01/2009 18:48

Lenni and Givethedog - thanks for your advise on the sweep, today I am feeling a little more uncomfrtable so might speak to midwife about the sweep on Monday - will stay open minded, thanks again!

stripeywoollenhat · 03/01/2009 18:50

i know what you mean about the lying around. i have also noticed that i am ridiculously hungry but have given up weighing myself as it is too horrifying

treedelivery · 03/01/2009 18:53

A very cute, skinny, white, naked dd [age 4] just came running in, put her head on the rug and wiggled her bum at me. Made me cry with laughter bless her naked boots. Cheered me up no end!

stripeywoollenhat · 03/01/2009 18:54

googled late pregnancy weight loss and found this:

Spink · 03/01/2009 18:55

Verity is lovely. Would you shorten it?
We've been blinded by names and now are powerless to make a decision. Just as well bub is not shifting yet..

wanted to add to the earlier fear of childbirth stuff - I have waves of feeling really apprehensive about it and waves of feeling pretty relaxed & looking forward to it. It is one of those things you aren't likely to experience many times in life! and I loved the intensity and the sheer physicality of it with ds, though it was tough and a bit overwhelming at times. I am not a very physical person and it was incredible to use my body for something it was made to do. If that makes sense.

Lenni, hope you feel less odd soon. I really like your approach to preg - the being happy to meet baby if labour happens now, and happy too to enjoy time with your little one while it is just her. I feel the same way - think it is the niggles and 'is it/isn't it' that feeds my impatience - I've really thought it was all systems go a couple of times. but spending time with ds feels especially precious at the moment.

LG&T good to hear from you again. trampolining as a method of inducing labour - it has to beat eating 300 pineapples. Go for it

Thanks stripey. I tried googling but couldn't think what to put in the search engine (got major vagueness and preggy brain today).

Have just read that article and found it reassuring to find that weight loss can be normal at this stage and even a positive sign of the body gearing up for labour.

Have been having hormonal type surges when I go all hot and sweaty as well so maybe the 'sauna effect' has added to the weight loss.

Spink · 03/01/2009 19:01

ah well you see I kinda like titty...

Spink · 03/01/2009 19:01

eek so WRONG taken out of context

Spink · 03/01/2009 19:04

GTDAB - I've got that one, it is inflated in the bedroom and seems comfy to kneel in and lean over. Seems like a very good deal if you can return it if not used. Even if you do use it, they sell on ebay for between £50-£80, If a liner is used I can't see the problem with used ones anyway..

gtdacp that's the pool we've borrowed from the midwife. We have the regular sized one rather than the mini.

The main birth pool in a box people have a website with more info about it here

stripeywoollenhat · 03/01/2009 19:05

mm, am big fan of google especially now that pregnancy has finally destroyed what remained of my memory...
