Ello you lot

Hope you all had a fab Xmas and New Year, was chaos here not...

The girl is still in utero, will be 39 weeks on Monday. I am all ready for her now so she can come anytime. I have felt very niggly for the past few days but had lots of protein in wee when i saw the midwife so assume it must be infection making me twingy. BP low so nothing sinister.

Congrats to Scared and Ginni

How is everyone else? Blardy fed up i expect

MissHairspray · 03/01/2009 11:04

Morning everyone
Shanster i'm exactly the same, 39 + 4 and nothing. I wish he would hurry up - I'm a bit scared of labour but I am also getting fed up with the constant calls/texts/messages of people wanting to know if the baby has arrived. I'm not even late yet fgs! I should set up a 'uterus watch' on facebook. Our parents are the worst, despite promising that we would tell them when we go in to hospital they keep calling to ask some spurious question and then get stressed when we don't answer the phone. Grrr.
Anyway just spending time pottering round, found some great bedroom furniture in Barker and Stonehouse half price and going out for lunch today so just trying to take each day as it comes. At least being pg has stopped my clothes shopping habbit in its tracks!

Haven't heard from MsSparkle in a couple of days, wonder if that is significant !!! Good luck if it is

Have a good day everyone

Hello all, still here, no baby yet. 3rd day overdue

I am officially Rachel in friends at the end of her pregnancy! Grumpy as hell. I am getting really fed up with all the "Have u had it yet?" txts from people. I know they mean well but do they not think we will let them know when it comes? Family go into panic mode if we don't answer the house phone because we are out Then end up phoning dps mobile which makes me think if i were in labour, do they not think dp will be with me hence not taking phone calls? Sorry if i sound horrible but people really do your head in when your overdue.

Had loads of twinges last night until about 1am and i thought this was it but it wasn't because i am still here.

stripeywoollenhat · 03/01/2009 13:06

Mssparkle hope things start for you soon.

well, i am experiencing vague urges to clean things whichis really most unlike me... dp has been doing all the nesting to date.... bit twingey this morning - going to have a hot bath now to see if that'll soothe it - or alternatively kick it off, of course...

treedelivery · 03/01/2009 13:20

HI everyone!!!

Still pregnant, am totally expecting to go to term plus 10 days, I expected it with dd1 and went to term plus 12 so may as well just relax into it I figure. Due 19th so suppose it could actually be FEB if go for full on induction etc!!!!

Then I have mighty panic attacks it will be soon, as we have no bag or car seat and the pushchair is in the shed providing shelter to spiders. Hoping nesting instinct kicks in soon!!

More apprehensive 2nd time than 1st - was really excited 1st time. Couldn't wait to give it a go, was like going backpacking feeling. Think this time the idea of havng a second one to look after 24/7 plus dd is much more overwhelming than the 12 hours getting it out!!
DH is a precision engineer - something to do with turning small bits of metal into smaller bits of metal - he writes the programmes and makes it happens. Apparently!

Feel utterly washed out and tearfull again. DD is the same so have slung her and dh out to go a a baker shop run.

Thanks for the sympathy people - it's good to have a vent.
Am not too stalked by relatives as to be honest not sure most of them realise how close we are to due date!!!!

Anticipate more bathroom episodes today - have taken nearly all known laxatives!! Figured it would help mood......

moosemama · 03/01/2009 13:39

*Periwink8, I had a sweep with DS1 at 40+5, went out to lunch at our favourite restaurant, went for a walk then went into labour about 6hrs later (or thereabaouts I think). It was uncomfortable but I wouldn't say painful and I would definitely do it again if things are favourable this time.

They shouldn't try and do it anyway if your cervix isn't favourable.

Tree, sorry to hear you and DH are having such a tough time. Its horrible for you being in that situation at the start of a new year. Keep hold of that money being of no significance thought - its hard to believe sometimes, but its really true, when I look back over the years, its been some of our poorest times that have been our happiest. Families don't need things, they just need love. Great news about baby being engaged though.

Books, I'm sure its not a sinus infection as have had plenty of them in the past. Think I'm just all gummed up and inflamed, although sinuses definitely started to drain last night and spent much of the night choking - delightful!

gtdacp I've bought some lilypadz as well, but also some normal breastpads as apparently lilypadz can tend not to be all that efficient until your milk supply settles down.

Well, I was up from 1.00 to 3.00 last night, actually gave in and put the tv on and started to watch Clash of the Titans (love that film and haven't seen it for years) but fell asleep! Woke with a start and thought I should get to bed sharpish so went straight up and .... lay there tossing and turning and wide awake - again. Then after a couple of hours, started with periody twinges and low back pain. Kept me awake for quite a while and was quietly hopeful, but as usual came to nothing. Eventually fell asleep at 6.00 ish and DS1 burst in the room complaining about his brother loudly at 6.25!

The boys are currently sharpening every pencil they can find in the house with the battery powered sharpeners they had in their stockings. Boy those things are noisy - doing wonders for my headache it is!

moosemama · 03/01/2009 13:40

Sorry, that should have said Periwink. Guess where my asterisk key is!

LenniEd · 03/01/2009 13:53

Tree are you around? Or anyone with advice?Yesterday I wasn't feeling so good - was sick and felt dizzy. Called MW as she had told me after BP was up to call if I felt at all unwell. She thought it was prob a virus but asked me to go in for monitoring today - she said she'd put me on the list and someone from ante-natal would call this morning. Not heard anything and am getting no answer from the hospital, think I must have been missed. I've got a headache today and nose is running so looks like a virus after all, don't really want to go in if can avoid it since hospital is 45mins+ away so we're looking at spending most of afternoon there if we go. Am I ok just to wait it out til Monday now and see MW then or is that being a bit silly just for a bit of inconvenience...

Spink · 03/01/2009 14:01

Lenni reckon you should phone the hospital and ask them if you really need to have monitoring today or if it won't hurt to wait. Could you get your BP checked nearer to home if that is a particular concern?
is baby still moving around as much as s/he has been?

moosemama · 03/01/2009 14:02

LenniEd, could well be just a cold, but with BP up and a headache would probably be safer to get it checked even if it is a bit of a pita.

If you can't reach anyone at our hospital the switchboard will put you through to labour ward and they will advise you what the best thing to do is.

Spink · 03/01/2009 14:02

argh just seen you're not getting through to the hospital - any luck yet? if not could you try your out of hours doc?

treedelivery · 03/01/2009 14:05

I is here......hmm....I'd ring the delivery suite and ask if you could just check the weekend cover midwife knows about you as you need a bp check and are full of the lurgy so don't want to trek in and give it to all ad sundry.

They can ring the oncall and just check the message got through ok - delivery suites are usually grand central station for all the message relays at night or weekend.

Think it should be checked because it probably is the virus thing - but it is possible to have the virus and have a bp issue at same time and it shouldn't be missed.

Let me know how you get on.

Why are we all so sickly????? What the hell!?

LenniEd · 03/01/2009 14:17

I've rung delivery and they transferred me to ante-natal and it has just rung off again... arrgghhhh!!!

DH walking dogs at the moment so think I'll wait til he gets back and then pile everyone in the car and call them again on the way to the hospital. Microwave has blown up that we bought in August so need to take that back to Comet right by hospital anyway so can kill two birds so to speak.

Thanks ladies.

Good luck Lenni, hope you get through to someone soon. What are your feelings about it? Do you feel there is a problem? If so I'd get it checked out... I think mother's intuition is awesome

AM totally exhausted after reading that givethedog!! Cut it out and take to the couch with some pringles!

Have a suitcase here, it's covered in dust and very empty. Tiny clothes drying everywhere though so getting there......

Had forgotten how tiny the socks were, always seem to be dropped everywhere. Aw!

largevirginbirthandtonic · 03/01/2009 16:31

pmsl AT 'JOLLY' in late pregnancy...

Tis all i can do do smile once a day let alone be jolly.

The kids got so much Xmas money we bought them all a HUGE trampoline yesterday, it's 14 foot. My garden is covered. The children have all been bouncing on it just now. It takes them all! Pics on FB of it.

I may give it a go, might shift her

On a similar related vein I may have slightly overdone the senna.....

rrrayray · 03/01/2009 17:30

Hello ladies.

Feeling the vibes we're all getting a little fed up of being heavily pregnant.

I don't know if any of you have vibes of when your bubbas might arrive, but i literally have NO idea. I'd like to think sooner rather than later, but everytime i think that i have visions of being pregnant in february... Groan!

Have any more regular posters disapeered? i wonder who is next?!

Have been bouncing around on my birthing ball.... but the couch looks so much more comfy. It better be doing some good.

Tree What is Senna?

givedog Maybe something to drink/eat for the hosp bag... for OH if not for you!

lennied Hope all goes well, better safe than sorry.

Tink Glad you are slowing down you little shopping machine. i think i too over did the xmas/ new year thing with so many guests and such. In the 10 days over xmas i cooked for dinner parties totalling over 35 people... thats not including cooking daily for OH and i! I think i was a bit bonkers!

Mssparkle Sorry to hear not popped yet!

Am feeling a bit odd... Oh match called off today, felt extremley weird not watching him play on a sat. Esp as we were already at the ground by the time the match was postoned... so had to watch them train on the pitch for a bit before coming home.

All other players & Oh's seem to be taking full advantage of saturday afternoon off, and no sunday training (VERY Rarely happens, i mean they trained Xmas day for goodness sake!!!) and have gone into london and such to do bits and bobs. But OH is too worried about me going into labour to do anything much... so we have settled for a take away, the liverpool match, and a dvd or something later. Feel like its a waste of a treasured day off, but at the same time really don't feel like missioning anywhere!!

Good luck anyone labouring today/ Tonight.....Me next please?!?!
