stripey - as a nickname, a nickname!!!!!

Spink · 03/01/2009 19:14

we got ours on ebay which prob doesn't help much, sorry..
we haven't had the floor checked, and prob should have - we live in a first floor flat of a converted victorian house. But have been reassured that it weighs (full and containing woman) about the same as 12 people, which doesn't really seem that hefty

they have them new on ebay as well...

moosemama · 03/01/2009 19:47

gtdacp The weblink I gave you is actually for the people who make and distribute the pools. My midwife gave it to me and apparently all the Mums that use the pool buy their liners from them with no problems.

I got a bit twitchy about buying online because my replacement liner hadn't arrived today, but you can check order progress on their website and when I checked it is being processed and I actually only ordered it on the 28th so what with New Year it will probably arrive the beginning of next week. (Don't need it until the pool goes back anyway as each person buys a new liner to replace the one they use.)

You can buy via paypal as well so you would be able to get your money back if there was a problem.

I noticed the one (new) I saw on eBay has a full refund on it if you don't open it

fymandbean · 03/01/2009 20:16

I saw a second hand one as well which had just been inflated but not used but think I may be better off with a new one.

new = £130, full refund if unused (v. easy!) and £70 on ebay if used.

used = £70, resell for £70 used or unused but with out the easy return policy!

just had a major hormonal moment

I managed to grate two lumps out of my thumb while grating some cheese an stood in the middle of the kitchen howling with blood dripping from my thumb and my (D)H shouting at me to get it under the tap....

a quick run under the tap and two plasters later am feeling a bit silly

(D)H is in the doghouse but has just made me a cup of tea so is slightly forgiven

Grating your thumb with a cheese grating is blardy painful! I feel sorry for you fym.

I have backache like you wouldn't believe! I have stopped the whole "i think this is it" thoughts because i am always wrong. Instead i think i will wait until something real happens like water breaking or contractions. So fed up

chefswife · 03/01/2009 20:27

that sounds like a lovely night in.

fymandbean · 03/01/2009 20:27

DS had a bit of cake left from earlier - i'm going to pinch it....

LenniEd · 03/01/2009 20:27

Am very jealous of all the homebirth talk. How I would love to be having a homebirth, oh well, my own fault for living in the back of beyond.

I like Verity. We have settled on Dylan I think - or Lily if he turns out to be a girl. Not got middle names at all. And TBH are not really sure about Dylan... oh well, will have to make a decision sooner or later...

Am going to ring midwife in the morning I think. Feel a bit uneasy about not being seen today, don't think she would have said to go in if wasn't reason to. Would like to be checked to be sure. Plus bubs isn't moving as much today although still over the requisite number and responding to me drinking cold water etc.

Periwink One other thing I meant to say on sweeps is ask the mw to check position of the baby before she does the sweep. If baby happens to be posterior, then might be worth trying to turn it before having a sweep. Best of luck either way - am sure you will be fine.

lily was our second choice for a girl's name. we may use it for second if a girl... but it seems sort of funny to be starting a floral theme with my children's names.

honestly give you lose all inhibitions and being buck in front of others is no longer an issue.

treedelivery · 03/01/2009 20:32

Gtdacs - wear anything you like. No prob at all. I've heard a wet tshirt can make you feel chilly though.

MsSparkle · 03/01/2009 20:32

That sounds bliss but i have a 2yr old dd who is very loud and lively!
