fourlittlefeet · 30/12/2008 18:06

Good luck Tallulah! How exciting!

fymandbean · 30/12/2008 18:09

good luck tallulah!

treedelivery · 30/12/2008 18:23

on a different complaining note [don't read, just enjoy the excitement of tomorrow and twins everyone] I got up to shower with great intentions of heading for party supplies. Had a shower and cleaned the tray, put some cream on and am now shaking all over and feeling lightheaded. Totally exhausetd! Sweating too yak.

If I have 5 more weeks of this till induction date it really is going to be painful. I wasn't at all like this with dd. But am fatter and more unhealthy this time.

fourlittlefeet · 30/12/2008 18:25

oh tree. I feel exactly the same. Had consultant appt today and they wanted to talk what happens after 41 weeks. I just stared at them... there is no way I'm going to wait that long! They also offered me a sweep today, but I declined; can do without extra stress over new year.

tinkwantsherbaby · 30/12/2008 18:27

sounds like alot of you are suffering with colds etc
good luck tallube how exciting

treedelivery · 30/12/2008 18:51

Had to lol at the stare. I can imagine doing that same stare.

Was term plus 10 with dd so dunno why I keep thinking I'm due - I'm here til the end of Jan. Maybe begining of Feb.

Don't want inducing as it's no fun but have to admit........I'd take it if they offered it.

Back in bed. Poor dd wants me to put her to bed. I want to have a good sob so have palmed her off onto daddy. Hormone override.

moosemama · 30/12/2008 19:01

Good luck Tallulah!

Tree! Get yourself snuggled up and rest. Hope you feel better soon.

I have been really light headed and dizzy with the odd bout of shaking as well over the past couple of days. It makes me just want to lie down all the time as I feel so bleugh when I sit up let alone actually move around. Just been putting it down to the sinus thing and exhaustion.

stripeywoollenhat · 30/12/2008 19:08

tallulahbelle - best of luck tomorrow, really exciting for you!

so i am still on the couch, but must drag myself off and out shortly. am hoping that small one will come out sooner rather than later - though not today - as i don't think i can handle another 4 weeks of this (am 38 weeks today and they will induce at 42).... really not feeling very sociable. oh well.

treedelivery · 30/12/2008 19:25

We all feel the same at the moment! Must be lull.

Where is rrayray? Was she having a scan today?

treedelivery · 30/12/2008 19:26

Must be a lull.

Hello ladies, boo to all of the false alarms. I'm due in a week and have had...nothing,, although sometimes not sure whether i'm having braxton hicks or babs is just arching his back. Also keep getting really weird shooting pains down my back which are like electric shocks but only last for a mo - he must be lying on a nerve or something. I am getting sooo fed up with having to sit up straight or lie on my birthing ball all of the time to try and keep him anterior, can't wait until I can go back to my usual bad posture!

I'm not feeling very sociable either, it is weird but it is like being totally detached from everyone. Small groups are fine, but i've been to a couple of parties over the past few days and just can't cope with the noise and people. Could be not being able to drink though

Good luck for tomorrow tallulahbelle and have a good new year everyone

qumps · 30/12/2008 20:05

just checking in for news and there seems to be a lot of nearlys. hope you are all feeling ok. feel a bit jealous in a random way.
agree with whoever said it that the haribrush book is terrifying. dh had to stop me reading it as it just made me cry and say i can't cope. quite proud of myself as managed for an hour this morning while dh went for a run and even coped with 2 while putting ds1 to bed. think little and often on my own will hopefully mean i am confident by the time dh goes back to work.
those with bh - thought mine would never come to anything and look what happened!!
looking forward to hearing some baby news soon x

treedelivery · 30/12/2008 20:31

Yay qumps and messages from the other side. Well done for having 2 in the house and not legging it.

Thats the thing with pregnancy, you feel like a spaced out whale who ate the pies and fractured their pelvis, and the cure is....well....er.....more sleepless nights and a dramatic increase in laundry.

Now I like babies but no one can sell me them on the basis they are dead easy. Maybe I will stay pregant another 5 weeks. Least I get to be a princess around here!

rrrayray · 30/12/2008 20:53

Peekaboo here i am!!!

Long tiring Day...

Scan Went well... Happy with placenta positioning & for me to labour naturally Yay. Plus, from midnight tonight will be allowed to birth at birthing centre, Two Ticks in the right box! Hurrah. Asked if any indication of baby size, to be told that Scan said was just over 5lb, but that it wasn't always spot on accurate! So looks like a bit of a tiddler at the moment, although when i said that, the sonographer said not big and not small. I thought 1/2 a lb a week for the final few weeks was normal? Well that only makes her just over 6lb by due date... I thought that was on the smaller side? Not complaining or anything, Small, but healthy is GREAT by me!!

After Scan OH Dropped me straight to train station as was going into London today!Met friend at other end, had girls lunch, then matinee Dirty Dancing for her birthday. Booked tickets back in sept, so managed to get Box Tickets- Brilliant view, much more comfy seats, and nobody next to us- Brilliant. The show and the dancing her FANTASTIC!!!!! Only just got home, and relieved to plop onto couch and get swollen feet up!!!

Tree That is a long list of things to be doing today! How did you get on? Did my Pedicure the other day, quite fun sitting like a yoga woman so can reach feet. Very pleased with result, hope that bubba will arrive soon enough that i wont have to do again! always find pedicures last longer than manicure anyway!

Tallulahbelle V.impressed you have got to 38 weeks with Twins!!! They must be very happy and snuggly in there! Sorry to hear section needed, but at least you will meet them TOMORROW!!! Exciting. Best of luck.

spink Sorry you had such a rough night. Although, really REALLY sounding like not too far away - sending vibes to get you into labour!

MsSparkle Are you on all the natural induction methods??? Those "have you popped yet?" Calls must be SO annoying. Surely people realise you will be sending mass text/email on the arrival, so SOD off people!

What are everyones New Years Eve plans? OH and i are just going to our friends around the corner with another couple for a lovely quiet snug night in with lots of yummy nibbles and Buzz. (Does anyone else LOVE that game? I think i'm actually addicted)

Hope all is well, and sending lots of go into labour vibes for everyone!!!!

treedelivery · 30/12/2008 21:09

Glad you had such a lovely day, if slightly [grrn] at your ability to do it!

Got absolutley nothing done on the list - which ws always a real possibility. Dh has cleaned house for paarty tomorrow - haven't inspected and not going to. It'll be right.

Tallulah - the postnatal thread awaits you!! Oooooo!! We'll need news fairly quickly and pics so get someone organiseed!!

moosemama · 30/12/2008 21:25

DH's cold has descended into man flu and boy is he grumpy!

Have spent almost the entire day on my own on the sofa while boys played in their room and DH flitted around ostensibly getting things done, but honestly I have a feeling he is avoiding me - didn't think my mood had been that bad!

He's just got back from walking 2 of the dogs and has disappeared upstairs again to fiddle with DS1s computer. I am in such trouble for getting those flippin Funkeys as the game is refusing to download properly and apparently its all my fault!

Keep feeling okish until I go to get up and do something, then its the whopping kick between the legs feeling and a dizzy head. Am so exhausted and bored at the same time, don't know what to do with myself. I know what's on the list that I should be doing, but that's another story.

Why is there never anything on telly when you are having a sofa day?

treedelivery · 30/12/2008 22:13

CAN I JUST SAYYYYYYYYY.........

That my mother [and I'm an only child and we see each other loads] has just texted me to ask me when I'm due.

If she wasn't so ace I'd fair...well, I dunno. I'd fair something!

Wasn't bloody like this the 1st time!

treedelivery · 30/12/2008 22:14
moosemama · 30/12/2008 22:35

Never mind Tree. At least she hasn't text you 3 times today to tell you that she is totally exhausted because she is stressed about you not delivering yet and because she has had to vacuum, dust and cook the tea and there is only one of her to go around y'know! (mine has btw)

Also had several texts over the past couple of days telling me she is only in pain and suffering as she can't book her knee replacement operation until I have had the baby because she 'ahem' 'wants' to help out after she's born. I've only asked her to have the boys while I'm in labour fgs, don't need any other help and going on past performance wouldn't be expecting any anyway! (Didn't see her for dust for over two weeks when DS2 was born - apparently the whole thing was just too stressful for her and wore her out!)

(She has 5 grandchildren and one great grandchild btw so its not like its anything new!)

I am currently ignoring my phone and will have to tell her that it had a flat battery or she will get into a worse strop.

Can you tell she might be getting on my nerves a little at the moment?!

moosemama · 30/12/2008 22:36

Right am off to bed. Have been putting it off as its not somewhere I have positive associations at the moment.

Could well be back later if sleep eludes me yet again!

treedelivery · 30/12/2008 22:49

Perhaps picked up a vibe or two that she may be pissing you off a tad.

Maybe tonight we'll slepp and tomorrow we'll be all yummy and mummy.

Dunno what my story is I slept! It feels worse, my brain is ok but my body won't cooperate!

chefswife · 31/12/2008 05:56

catching up on the thread i thought for sure someone else would have popped. the anticipation of it all. i keep reliving my birth. i think my saving grace was my ignorance. i didn't have a drawn out labour. there wasn't even any back pains. i had an amazing experience.

for those not sleeping: i have a cup of peppermint, do some basic yoga stretching and deep breathing exercises just before going to bed. then i crawl into bed with a book. it works.

i'm another lifer... DH and i have been together for 18 years, married for the last 4. i still get excited when i hear the car pull into the driveway when he gets home from work.

we aren't snowed in so much anymore but the sidewalks are still not plowed so still can't really go out. frustrating. just want to get out. very hard for me to be home bound. argh.

well, perhaps tomorrow will bring news of some more babies.

tinkwantsherbaby · 31/12/2008 09:50

morning

just popping 2 tesco today for nibbles for tonite.
looks freezing out again

rrrayray · 31/12/2008 10:57

morning all.

Tink Yiy are a shopping machine, what with next and Tescos on such busy days!! i havent been anywhere near the sales!!

moose/Tree - Sorry for pain in butt Families @ moment! My mother actually text me this morning to say she's dreamt i'd given birth - 2 hours and no stictches... i of course text back saying "yes please"

chef will be trying the pepermint tea, despite hating ALL teas, herbal or not. Sleep is much more important than taste right now.

Was about to bake some shortbread to take to friends tonight, but hands so puffy that knuckles hurt, so i'm not sure rubbing flour and butter together is the best solution!!

Think going to have a clothes clear out instead!
