Anyone due July 2009? Part 2

lucasnorth · 12/12/2008 17:05

Sorry, original title.

Anyway, hello everyone, I'm due 6th July (although no scan yet, so date will probably move). Excited but knackered and queasy so far, although having read (some!) of the last thread I've got off pretty easily so far.

Lyrebird · 03/02/2009 19:08

I bought the AngelSounds one recently and can recommend it

Beccabump · 03/02/2009 20:32

Need advice - what can I eat???

I only want to eat soup and things that have no lumps in (weird preggy thing??). I am living on veggie soups and bread atm and worried about not getting all the nutrients that I need but I just gag when eating anything else

xxx

xxhunnyxx · 03/02/2009 21:43

I drank a lot of milkshakes, fruit juice and smoothies at the beginning when I was feeling sick. Oh n custard mmmmmmmm
Could u maybe manage a fluffy jacket potato with some kind of filling?
Don't worry about the nutritional side of things too much, that was one of the first things GP said to me when I told her I was pg, your body has reserves of vitamins and nutrients so it'll use those up if u need them. And remember if your body needs something it'll tell you, thats why we crave things, so just listen to what your body wants.
Hope u feel better soon beccabump xxx

Anyone keep feeling like they're about to get their period? I know it's quite normal in early pregnancy but is it normal now?

ilikeyoursleeves · 03/02/2009 22:43

Hi all, the angelsounds doppler is great, easy to find the HB (as long as baby is in teh right position that is!). It comes with ultrasound gel I think too but apparantly KY jelly does the same thing.

Becca can you diff types of soup? Those Covent Garden ones are great and have loads of nutrients, if it's too lumpy you could liquidise it?

Misspaella · 04/02/2009 09:06

beccabump I feel for you. I am now 18 weeks and still have some severe food aversions. I have spent the last couple nights just eating salad for dinner as off most things. Think it may be a bug as opposed to pg.

Does plain pasta take your fancy?

Hunny I just feel moody; does that count like period symptons? Or are you talking cramps? I used to get cramps in my 1st pg well into the 2nd trimester. I guess I had a lot of ueterine stretching to do.

Hope everyone else is doing well!

Newb · 04/02/2009 10:02

Right, question for the day. Since last night I've been getting mild stretchy sort of pains, kind of like when your bladder's too full or you pull a muscle a bit. Is definintely not a cramp. Is this the "round ligament pain" my book tells me about? Sort of feels like my womb is starting to mean business. Eek! Plus I think little Newblet is starting to bubble around in there quite a bit.

DH excited about this, but not so much that I cried on him again last night. Sort of pathetic whimpering and muttering about life changing and not being able to do anything fun but it all being good. He was very understanding to give him his due and let me cover yet another of his tops with snot and tears

Newb · 04/02/2009 10:03

Beccabump, how about semolina or rice pud. Love it....

QueenFee · 04/02/2009 11:36

beccabump what about porridge?

newb I have been getting loads of stretching feelings over the last couple of weeks including a couple of sharpish ones. I just put it down to an expanding bump. I seem to remember I had more with my 1st though (as it had so much more stretching to do than this time )
Make the most of crying on dh shoulder. My DH now just walks round the house tutting about hormonal women when I shout/cry/laugh for no apparent reason!

BonzoDoodah · 04/02/2009 17:20

I had those weird stretching feelings last preg. not so much this time (yet) but then as QueenFee says - it's all been stretched the first time for us.

I've been feeling a bit rounder and am almost sure I could feel the baby move today. It was the same feeling as when the baby turned in (much) later months last time - a sort of strange pressing from the inside. Not sure if I'm imagining it (at 15 weeks+5) or is it really is just shifting position and leaning a bit more on one side.

Beccabump · 04/02/2009 17:40

Hello thanks for the suggestions, have decided just to go for it tonight and have my old standby meal of ham, cauliflower cheese and mash - at least I can mush it if it gets too hard going!! I was mainly concerned that I am not taking in many calories (compared to last pg where I stuffed myself!!!) and I am knackered all the time - don't want to harm baby due to not eating right

Been getting the strange stretchy periody pains too - glad I'm not the only one. Pretty sure I am turning into neurotic preggy woman already lol!! Also had some random flutterings that I don't think was wind!! Crying on hubby is pretty much standard here - luckily he is used to it from the 1st time around

Hugs to all xxx

EvieBear · 04/02/2009 20:04

Hi everyone,
QueenFee pointed me in the direction of this thread as I am due 7th July so hello! I was 18 weeks yesterday and felt quite a bit of movement in the evening it was so funny- my DP put his had on my belly and felt a jolt too so I was really happy...

Newb- that's so funny about crying- I am crying very easily these days. If I read any pregnancy books and they mention seeing your bundle for the first time etc and just burst into tears!!

Oh yeah - has anyone bought any baby items yet or are you all waiting another while? I'm excited but not wanting to tempt fate etc..

No other news so far... Looking fwd to 20 wk scan on 23rd Feb!

dannyg · 04/02/2009 20:10

Evening all, Just ordered one of those angel sounds Doppler's they sound great, should arrive to mo, I'm eagerly awaiting my food shopping tonight have ordered tones of ice lollies. I have period pains on and off too, midwife assured me completely normal unless u have spotting too. Hate not being able to eat normal too although ms has definitely improved this week, have eaten beef for first time since November. Also been feeling little movements , almost sometimes feels like braxton hicks used to x x

Phoenix · 04/02/2009 20:33

I ordered my angelsounds doppler yesterday. I was hoping it would have come today cos i have to go out in the morning so will prob miss delivery.

My 20wk scan is Feb 25th, 3 week today. I can't wait

QueenFee · 04/02/2009 21:00

hi eviebear
My scan is on 18th so very excited at seeing bump again
I have most of my baby stuff sorted as I was quite ill at end of last preg and want the fun of sorting it out this time rather than asking others to do it for me.
Hoping to get the cot up at the weekend (this is partly to see if it will fit in my dds room) but in order to do this I have to put up ds's bunk beds as he is still using the cot bed.

Holding my babies for the first time are the best moments in my life (weepy hormonal emoticon!)
I have felt this baby moving for weeks really weird. It is now starting to get to the point where it hurts when it kicks my side. wonder if its a BIG baby

ilikeyoursleeves · 04/02/2009 21:00

I've not bought anything for baby yet but I am really wanting to get a few ickle neutral things when the summer clothes are out! Might get a few vests from Babygap as they are so lovely and soft and most cute. I am sure I've been feeling babba on and off for a few weeks now, like tiny twinges? It might be that round ligament pain but I'm sure that's what I first felt with DS.

Well no pickled onions for me tonight, I'm eating my way through a box of chocolates instead!

Misspaella · 04/02/2009 21:17

Newb what a lovely DH you have...

Hi Eviebear - we're due on the same day!

Ilikeyoursleeeves I am eating through some chocolate too but I feel I deserve it as I have eaten far too healthy the last few days. The baby needs the chocolate. I can just tell.

Phoenix · 04/02/2009 21:18

I've bought a Maclaren XT pushchair (very cheap on offer in Boots) 4 bottles and a steriliser.

I don't need much else because we saved ds' old stuff. I'm not buying any neutral clothes because we're planning on finding out the sex this time so once i know i'll go shopping

ilikeyoursleeves · 04/02/2009 21:22

I'm not sure what to do this time re finding out the gender! I think I need help to decide!!! We found out that DS was a DS at his 20 week private scan but this time we aren't having a private scan. I'm due a sizing scan on the NHS at 28 weeks (we don't get 20 week scans on the NHS here GRRRRRRRRRRRR ) so could potentially ask the gender then. I can't decide though, DH wants to find out but I'd quite like a surprise cos we knew before the birth last time. But also I'd quite like to know earlier too! What are you all doing re finding out gender?

lydiathetattooedlady · 04/02/2009 21:26

hi everyone, not been on here in absolutely ages, just trying to catch up! hello to all the new ones joining!
ive definately been feeling baby move this week, and crying to absolutely anything, glad im not alone! i cried to the dog whisperer earlier!
it still seems like i have forever to wait til my '20 weeks scan' as mine is going to be done when im 22 weeks so 10th march. still cant decide if to find out or not! i have the whole romantic idea of dp bringing the baby to me and telling me if it is a boy or a girl, but in reality i really want to know NOW!
so far have nothing but saved white babygrows from when we had dd, although my grandparents have just given us some money towards a pram. we are going to get one 2nd hand tho as will use a sling most of the time, currently bidding on a silver cross linear one, i like the traditional type prams!
as far as food goes im eating like a horse but luckily havent put any on yippee! have been making cupcakes this evening and ended up smearing the buttercream over digestives instead of the cakes, feel slightly ashamed of my self

deleting · 04/02/2009 21:44

hello eviebear, I haven't actually bought anything, but am knitting like mad. New hobby and baby things are so nice to make, quick and easy. dd's dolls have been wearing them while we wait.

Anyone else having skin problems? Got two spots, which I never usually get, just got rid of the biggest coldsore and now noticed one of those really sore boily things that hurts when you press it. Just by my nose and under the skin (for now). Aren't I supposed to be blooming?

deleting · 04/02/2009 21:53

ilikeyoursleeves - I won't be finding out this time. was really tempted with ds and didn't, but did know with dd. In fact this time I am dead against finding out for some reason, don't know why but will fight to the death anyone who tries to tell me.

QueenFee · 04/02/2009 22:02

deleting My skin this week is dreadfull I look like a teenager again I have so may spots.
Were not finding out. I didn't with the other 2. It was especially lovely with DS as he was back to back so came out facing me so I was the first person to know he was a boy

xxhunnyxx · 04/02/2009 22:23

Hi Eviebear, yeah I've bought the odd bits, just basics tho, vests, stratch mits, bottles etc and my friend has lent me quite a few things too. Oh also order my pram too, was a bit extravagant and went for the Icandy Apple, love it!

Seems like a lot of us are getting twingey feelings, I'm a bit worried tho cos for the last couple of days I've been gettin quite a sharp pain really low down, not sure if it could be a UTI. Will keep drinkin plenty and keep my eye on it.

ilikeyoursleeves we're finding out we're havin, I would quite like a surprise but on the other hand I'm soooo impatient. But bf really wants to know and think it'll help him realise this baby is really happening!

mispella lol at baby needing chocolate, but now that you mention it I think my baby needs some too! ha ha

I had a bit of a scary moment last night, I was just goin to bed when I got a terrible pain in my hip, like a trapped nerve (had probs for a while now) I ended up collapsing on the bed and then couldn't move my leg, it was the most excrutiating pain I've ever felt (not given birth yet tho!) Luckily I had my mobile in my hand so I rang my mum who has luckily got a key and she came round and managed to massage my hip to free the nerve. I'm havin physio but it's just scary cos I think if it's this bad already what am I gonna be like in another 4 months?

Anyway on a more possitive note...El Nino has been very active today! Seriously feels like he/she's been havin a party with 4 friends or gymnastics classes. I was lying watchin tv earlier with my hand on my tummy and I could actually feel it to the touch too which I've not felt before. Cant wait for bf to feel it too ) x

deleting sorry to say I'm one of those really annoying people who don't get spots but I have noticed some dry patches. Coldsore is prob just due to u bein run down tho x

deleting · 04/02/2009 22:31

Yes queenfee, it's not quite the same if you know. I wished we hadn't with dd.
